Emotions by Hodelpa Puerto Plata: Very friendly resort

The hotel is beautiful. I found the staff to be exceptionally friendly. Got plenty of towels for showers. Basically you get what you paid for. The food didnt cause stomach aches so thats a plus!!!!! However the buffet needs more variety.

The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Truly amazing resort

The hotel; very attractive, and elegant (on the highest elevation and on a cliff) The sea-view from the main hotel building; very romantic (small islands connected with bridges and mountains) The landscaping; beautifully designed with paths to walk even for people with mobility issue. The restaurants and food; 24 hours available, variety, yummy and delicious. The entertainment; fantastic!! The town of Samana; can see from the hotel, very picturesque. The hotel "service taxi" will take you there and pick you up every hour for free. The travel time 5 minutes. Tours; fantastic!. Thank you Edwardo! (tourist guide) I took catamaran to the Los Haitises National Park and a tour to the Playa Rincon-on the other side of the Samana Peninsula (Atlantic Ocean). I advise to take the "option plus" version. My room was on the fourth floor (407). Make sure to make a sew-view reservation in the main building. Villas have separate swimming pools but no beach and they need to come to the main area. If you are a traveler and not only beach body this resort is a perfect choice for you.

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Beautiful place

Travelled on Jan 23rd. It was a beautiful place, amazing beach and very clean. The rooms were great. Staff was friendly. Wifi was only in the lobby and was choppy at times. Food was ok. The BBQ restaurant was the best a la carte. The resort itself is huge. 5 resorts in one but you don't feel it cause there's buses that are constantly going to and from the beach/lobby. I would definitely recommend the place.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Great resort

Very good resort, very clean, staff were friendly. drinks were ok, not a lot of selection. If you wanted mamosas or baileys you need to be a vip. Food in a la carte restaurants was good but hard to get in because not a lot of seating. Buffet had a large variety of foods. Always something different to eat. 1 of our 3 rooms had shower issues and a new room was offered. Over all great place to vacation.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Stunning resort!

We had a great time! Resort had plenty to do for the week. Beach is beautiful, nice sand and aqua blue ocean. Hotel grounds beautiful. Service was great at the Ambar too. We would recommend this resort for sure! Cheers!

Occidental Punta Cana: some updates needed

This resort was built before its neighbours on either side, Palladium and Princess, and its infrastructure is beginning to show its age. For instance we had to call maintenance for a malfunctioning toilet and a minor roof leak. On the other hand the resort is clean, we found all staff helpful and friendly , and it is on the incomparable Bavaro beach. We especially liked the beachside Seafood restaurant. We would recommend this resort to travellers who focus on Sun and sand and are generally not  [... read more]fussy. The cost was at least 10% lower than neighboring larger resorts, as well.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Beautiful

The resort exceeded my expectations The food was excellent with a vast variety of dishes from all over the world..Very helpful and friendly staff.Get the suite if you can it`s well worth the additional cost.I would defiantly come here again.

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Amazing, relaxing vacation

Beautiful resort....well maintained and amazing staff. Large resort but easy to get around to the Palace or golf course and found walking to be faster than waiting for the train. Food was good and very consistent from day to day at the buffet restaurants. Sante Fe steakhouse at the Palace was our favourite a la carte and reservations were never a problem. No swim up bar on adult side which keeps things quiet but servers constantly around so very easy to get drinks....pool was very clean and spen [... read more]t much time there. Adult side is quiet and low key and rooms are older then the palace but everything worked and bed was very comfortable. Highly recommended for couples and golfers...staff at the course were great and 19th hole restaurant was awesome

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Great vacation!

We have been going to Luxury Bahia Ambar for several years and overall have been very pleased with the resort, the beach, and the service received. We also enjoy flying out of Hamilton and have found that Transat Vacations do a great job with the arrangements.

Catalonia Bavaro Resort: Beautiful Vacation Resort

The hotel, staff, food, rooms, service - all of it was the best. We had a perfect family vacation. The grounds were beautiful, I really do not have any complaints about this resort. One improvement could be the shows at night at the theatre. They were OK but could have been better.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Excellent Resort

Hotel facilities were beautiful! The food at at the Buffet was excellent and there were always variety. The service was excellent! We were there during a storm and got flooded but they still moved our room. The beach was not very nice though. It was brown. It was private though.

Riu Merengue: Ok resort

The hotel rooms were great food was good entertainment was horrible staff were great was next to impossible to book an alacarte it rained for 4 out of the 7 days we were there all day all night and all through the night the beach was all rock .

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Nice resort

The hotel itself was very nice. The rooms were cleaned and also fumigated while we were there. But that only brought the bugs out of their hiding spots. I found the service poor, there is no waiters if you wanted a drink you needed to go get it yourself. Also their choice of alcohol left a lot to be desired. Their wine was was watered down. The pool was not very cleaned, so we spent 98% of our time at the beach. The beach was well kept. All weeds picked up every day. Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana: Great Everything!!!!!!!

We stayed January 2016, the overall resort is fantastic. Lovely grounds well maintained, the staff is excellent, especially Luis from the entertainment team. The food we thought was great, good selection and flavour. The buffet is big, get the pizza!! The beach is cleaned of seaweed all the time. Room for great walks and the sales people don't bother you if your not interested. What a fantastic trip!!!

IFA Bavaro Village: Excellent service

The grounds were very cleaned. The staff was particularly polite and friendly. The food was good and plentiful. The only drawback is that the resort doesn't clean the beach in front of the hotel, therefore, there was a bit od seaweed on the beach.

Paradise Playa Dorada: Grand Paradise Playa Dorada - we'd go again!

The resort is beautiful, the grounds are kept very clean and the staff is very friendly. The only problem we had was we had 3 days of rain which brought up a lot of seaweed on the beach - but eventhough the beach was cleaned daily the rain made the seaweed impossible to keep up with - but of course this was not the resorts fault.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Beautiful scenery

Beautiful tropical resort , very clean but service was not the best ,very slow at the bars either at the pool or lobby . Great place to go for good food and families but not couples . Love children don't get me wrong but this resort was full of them . My drink had more chlorine in it from splashing kids than booze lol

Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: good with the bad

Rooms were clean food was good. Staff was excellent and ready to please. Could be more liquor selection and a 24hour food place would be nice but again, you get what you pay for. Safe place cool people. Overal a good time.

Paradisus Punta Cana: Great vacation!

Spotless grounds, friendly staff, beautiful rooms, excellent food, WiFi throughout the resort! Sitting areas in bar, lounge and lobby very uncomfortable. No tables in pool and beach areas for drinks. Walkways very slippery when wet. No jacuzzi in pool area only tub on balcony

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Beach area not good.

The buffet hardly has any seafood to offer, lots of fish however. A vacation resort should always have a coffee machine for cappuccino and espresso, a vending machine is no good. No snacks to be found on resort after 10.00 P,M. Steak house is an illusion, for impossible to book a seat without shelling out some big American dollars to the staff. A bag of Lays chips cost $6.00 U.S., about $10.00 Canadian WOW........ Thinking of starting my own chip selling business there. The Casino has no air con [... read more]ditioning, and toilets that look like the ones in N.Y. city subways. I almost got stuck in the bathroom. Too much H2O in the alcoholic drinks. The ice is made from tap water, therefore causing many people to be sick.
