Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Nice hotel

Bed was uncomfortable!! Beach staff was always after you (almost harassment). Server's and maid was excellent. Pools are clean, beach was nice! Food was not soo good! First and last time in Rep.Dom.!!

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Amazing resort

The resort was extremely nice, the staff were wonderful, the food wasn't what we would have expected from this resort. The Internet usage is not enough and especially when you want to contact the kids back home. Internet kept cutting out.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Great resort!

Lots of greenery, nightly turn down service (with chocolates), great food, good entertainment..only negative was slow service at lobby bar and staff could speak a bit more English..would recommend to family and friends

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Almost perfect

My wife and I have just returned from a week at the Ambar section of the Bahia Príncipe complex, which consists of five semi -separate hotels all sharing the same massive grounds and stretch of beach, and with a few exceptions (2 pools and several restaurants which are adult-only) all venues are accessible to all guests. We have no complaints (food, staff, entertainment, room comfort and amenities) other than the lack of enough lounge chairs at the beach to accommodate the number of guests, whi [... read more]ch leads to the inevitable "reserving" of chairs starting at 8 am. Despite signs saying that such is not allowed, I saw no evidence of it being enforced. If you haven't reserved your spot, forget about getting a chair after 9:30. 9:30.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: beautiful resort!!

Relaxing, peaceful resort - very large resort with a cozy feel. You can walk for miles and enjoy the markets on the beach o en th shops at the strip mall. Food was amazing and staff make you feel at home.

Riu Merengue: It was a nice trip!!

The hotel was kept very clean. I had been there 3 years before so I knew it was going to be a good choice. My only disappointment was not knowing that I was booking a room on the village side. I would have preferred the garden side. The maid kept out room clean and tidy, and always brought fresh towels. Only complaint would be that the pillows could be a little thicker. The staff was incredibly friendly!!!! I can't stress enough about how amazing they all were. This is one of the reasons why I wanted to go back to this resort. The food was good for a buffet. Lunch had the most limited selection, but let me tell you, those pancakes at breakfast were always a huge hit!! Not going to lie Sunwing was a little disorganized when it came to figuring out what shuttle we were on to get to the resort, and the staff with Sunwing at POP airport weren't the greatest either. All in all, I would go back for a third time! :)

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: ok but not fantastic!

beach great, entertainment terrible- staff's comedy & entertainment pretty terrible & not really funny. Not a place for kids. Found one cockroach in our room. Scams everywhere if you are looking to go out of complex. Don't take any fishing excursions....all scams. Food ok.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Wonderful time at the Ambar

This hotel is just beautiful! The lobbies in both Ambar I and Ambar II are opulent, the rooms are huge, clean and well appointed with great bathrooms. My only recommendation for those who travel with e-books, phones or tablets is to bring a surge protector with multiple outlets for charging your toys, since there is only one three prong grounded outlet in the room - the rest are only two prong outlets. The Mikado and the Brazilian a la carte restaurants were hands down some of the best food we had ever eaten in a resort. The grounds and landscaping are immaculate, the beach is beautiful, the staff are warm and friendly and the drinks, wine and champagne just keep flowing. Lots to see, including the entertainment in the evenings - it's a great resort to kick back and relax at the beach or beside the pools at Ambar I (lively entertainment) or Ambar II (quiet and peaceful).

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Very good resort

Hotel very clean, well kept. Friendly staff, helpful. Food was good. Only downside was venders on the beach. As well as trying to be sold more trips through "circle one" very pushy and use the guise of "hotel information" to get you to talk to them. Advice: Decline any propositions unless you are interested. Excusions were fun. We booked one through air transat, and one through beach vendors. Both were fine but transat was put more professional. Great vacation overall.

Ancora Private Residence Yacht Club and Marina: Decent resort, but would opt for another next time

Nice facility, friendly staff but food/drink orders were taken wrong or forgotten half the time. Asked for a hair dryer first night but was told there was no way to obtain one until the next day, same goes for the room service menu, both of which were missed in the preparation of our room. Beach on resort is man made, thus, not nearly the same quality of a natural one. Also, it is a 10 min walk from any of the hotel rooms. Food was hit and miss, some great meats from a la carte restaurants and [... read more] then some raw meats (chicken / pork) from the buffet grill.

Riu Palace Punta Cana: Wonderful experience!

Riu Palace Punta Cana is a very beautiful resort. Its grounds and main lobby are fantastic. Rooms are a bit dated, but clean and nicely decorated. I would say that moldy smell can be sensed at first when one goes into the room, but it is not strong and quickly disappears once the air conditioner turned on. There is very good Internet connection in the lobby, and even at times in rooms! Mainly late at night. Staff, in general, is accommodating and polite. Food is very good. Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Great trip!

We had a great time in this trip. The westjet flight was top notch! Amazing plane and service. The hotel was nice as well. the people are really nice and food is good. Lots of selection. The only thing is that the hotel is really big. Just be prepared to walk a lot or take the trolley everywhere. And also, the beach has a lot of seaweed. They try their best to clean it, but it's all over your feet when you go into the beach. The pools make up for it though! They are beautiful.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Great relaxation vacation!!

The room was fair (beds were comfy, no coffeemaker (but large urns down by the pool), no mirror (except for the bathroom), chairs on balcony uncomfortable (plastic stacking chairs)), pool was laid out great (not heated), beach was very clean, food was very good. Everyone was very friendly, and excellent service. For the money, this resort was a great deal. Just expect that it is a reasonable trip and not a high end resort.

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Luxurious Resort

The facilities at this resort are truly wonderful. The rooms and resort are all very tastefully decorated. Huge junior deluxe suite large common areas. Pool and beach immaculate. Food excellent. Entertainment and events well done. Special occasion extras included decorations, champagne, cake no cost!

Riu Palace Macao: Great Resort

I have been to many resort in my travels. My thoughts are a resort is a resort there all pretty much the same, rooms,food,pool so on. But when you go back to a resort because of the SERVICE that's the different's. I have never been taken care like this EVER at any other resorts. It starts from the front desk, David Guillermo Rodriguez, Restaurant Buffet, Manuel Polanco, Noel Diaz, Luilli Argenis , Wilson Adames Suero, Vigilio Suarez Almanzar, Juan Rodriguez, Maria Santana ( Entertainment ). Catalonia Bavaro Resort: Gluten Free Options

We definitely enjoyed our vacation at the Catalonia Bavaro (Punta Cana) in the Privlidge section!!! The room was large and clean, along with a comfortable bed! The resort itself was also clean. The staff was friendly and helpful, especially Carlos in the Privilege Conceirge office and Livio, the head chef. Food was great at the main buffet and also the Italian and Steak House a la carte restaurants. We didnt try the other a la cartes. If you are celiac and must have gluten free food then this ho [... read more]tel is a good option. You should go to the Conceirge and ask them to write up a letter explaining that you are celiac. They will do this no problem, and then they will send it to each of the a la cartes and give you a copy to keep with you. If you are having trouble with the different language then ask your travel rep (ours was Air Transat and they were very helpful) and they can relay the info to the Conceirge for you. You will still need to mention you have celiac at each restaurant and you have your letter for back up. If you need more info in regards to the GF food, just email me. They do have GF pasta. We plan on going back to this hotel as it had so many positives. The beach was great and ocean was calm, (with some fish to see), pool was large and you could always find a chair at the beach or pool. We only had one complaint while we were there and they are working on a solution. The complaint was in regards to the Exclusive Club having a private party the one night and the music was unusually loud. It went on all that night until 6 am non-stop. I believe they are working on amending their contracts so that the music has to be turned down by a certain time. They received many complaints and were actively talking to all the guests and finding a solution for future events. They tried to resolve the issue that night but the people having the party were extremely inconsiderate and rude (in my opinion). Anyway, we loved it here, it is so beautiful! And we will return!

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Fantastic Stay at Resort!

The Riu was very clean and well maintained. The staff made our stay so much more enjoyable. Whether you tip them or not, they are all doing their best to make you feel welcome. The resort connected to the beach boardwalk, and had many nice shops to stop at which was nice. Food was very decent and enjoyable for all inclusive. Would definitely book here again!

Royalton Punta Cana Resort: only ok.......everything was a sales pitch

The beach was fabulous. Room was ok. Food was ok good for kids but I really expected more for adults. The service level just wasn't there. Was difficult to get money broken for smaller bills and everywhere you went it was a sales pitch to get what u would expect for the price of the resort. Vacation was fun but just not the value for the money.

Paradise Playa Dorada: Very friendly staff,good food and entertainment.

Clean and well kept grounds.Dining was always good and hot food.Lots of drinks and friendly bartenders.Jose was a great help with our luggage.Near by shopping plaza and bars.Beach was clean .Pool was a little cool and swim up bar was not always open.
