Cayo Levantado Resort: Quiet, laid back island vacation
The resort is very secluded, well maintained and perfect for a week of relaxing. The grounds are very lush and well maintained. The island has many hills, some areas steeper than others. The resort is very spread out & never felt crowded. The Rodizio & Don Pablo restaurants were the best for dinner. The buffet at Rodizio for breakfast or lunch was convenient & had decent selection. Drink service around the pools and in the lobby was quick & friendly. The villa room was large with a huge balcony, [... read more]
Wyndham Alltra Samana: great value
great value for the price, the grounds are great and kept up every day, all around super place and the staff are also super friendly with a big thanks to Roberto at the sports bar and Ceasar at the small pool they just made the holiday that much more fun
Occidental Punta Cana: Disappointed
Service in restraunts the worst I have ever had, food in restraunts not good. Basketball hoops broken, no archery, lots of seaweed on beach, evening entertainment worst ever! toilet plugged every day! However the reserved evening meals were great, bartender at pool bar was great! Not much else to say other than will never stay again.
Royalton Punta Cana Resort: Not worth it... Butler service is a joke.
Stay at Royalton for a week Jan 1 -8 and I can honestly say this is no 5 Star resort. The service is poor and when you do find someone to get you a drink they are miserable. We paid extra for the concierge/butler service and that was a complete joke. Make sure you wake up at 6am to get a chair that the beach or else forget it.... The Diamond Club is tiny . I have stayed at many resorts in DR and this one was the worst by far. Not to mention being harassed by time share reps everyday on our st [... read more]
Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Great time!
We enjoyed our week stay at Grand Bahia PrÃncipe Bavaro, large resort but we were located 5 min walk from lobby and beach and 10 min walk to water park and mini golf. Alternatively there are trolleys all day. We would definitely stay again, food was very good, room for improvement but no one was sick in my party. Overall a great stay. Employees were all wonderful! Great for children as well!
Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana: The best vacation I've ever taken!
Not one negative comment to make about this resort. The rooms were modern, clean and spacious. The pools and beach were clean with plenty of chairs available. The food was amazing with lots of variety to choose from. Loved the fact that you didn't need to make reservations for the a la cartes, and that they were unlimited. The best part about this resort is the staff. The entertainment team was outstanding; always making sure the guests were having a great time. Will definitely return here next [... read more]
Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: great vacation
This resort has double in size since we where there 6 years ago. It is an excellent resort, rooms are beautiful. The rooms were cleaned very late in day 5:ish daily. Late in day if you were wanting your room earlier. Food was great. Staff were excellent. Worth the money. We were there 12 days. Need more shade at 2 new pools for people that don't sit in sun.
Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Nice resort
The coupons that were given weren't really a deal. They offered a $100 off but only on services that were at least double the price in Canada with only have the actually results. The housekeeping was great the first couple of days and then it slowly died. We were also tipi g everyday so I shouldn't of tipped at all and saved the money. The food was ok but not great with the exception of two of the restaurants. our first day we were con into visiting another resort to buy memberships and laughed [... read more]
Bahia Principe Explore La Romana: Bahia Principle La Romana
Grounds: This resort is exceptional in the way the property is maintained, beautiful pathways with lush greenery, well lite for night walking. Public Areas: A major problem is the beach which is separated by a rope for the general guests versus the VIP Don Pablo guests. The lounges are different in each area which creates a division of customers. The water is murky and has jelly fish which resulted in only a few people using the ocean. Rooms: We were in the Golden Garden section and have only go [... read more]
Wyndham Alltra Samana: Great beach, half of the family got sick.
Hotel was basic and what we expected from a 3.5 star. Our family booked five rooms and had been looking forward to this vacation for years. Everything was to our satisfaction except the big one.......my wife was sick for half of her time there and half of the family also had a couple of sick days.........NOT fun.
Occidental Caribe: The resort was good .
All and all the hotel was good. The food was just ok at the buffet though because we've been to two other Barceló hotels in the last two years in Mexico and the food was better and we expected the same however the booked restaurants were excellent. The grounds and washrooms were always kept clean and the beach was amazing . The only issue we had was that the walls of the rooms were paper thin and we could hear everything going next door .The rooms were ok . Not very big but clean. .
Emotions by Hodelpa Puerto Plata: Awful place
Old, tired building.says recently renovated- which only means they threw on some paint. No fridge in room, had to ask for towels after 5 days and they were very well worn & had holes in. No water pressure in shower or toilet. No hot water. The building sucks!! Beach was good. Food terrible. People were getting sick.
Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Great Family Resort
Beautiful rooms, good food, nice grounds, great pools and ocean. Suites are great as family rooms with 2 bathrooms and lots of space. Recently renovated hotel. Family oriented but don't go if you are looking for a place to party all night long as bars close at 11pm.
Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Nice Resort
I'm not a huge vacationer, so when I go my expectations are fairly high. This hotel was very clean, but it is BIG! HUGE! There is constant shuttle service from spot to spot, so that isn't an issue. The room was mediocre - clean, but nothing to write home about. Same ol' musty smell. The one thing that I was shocked at was the below average service. The restaurants were nice and the food was good, but the servers were not kind, and there were MANY occasions where we had to ask for drinks over and [... read more]
Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: Great resort in town
The Casa Marina Reef and Beach Resort is a lovely resort, beautiful beach area, great dip pools, good food and perfect location. We loved the fact that you could walk out the front door of this resort and right into town for ice cream, etc. The only down side was a lack of beach chairs, one had to get up VERY early in morning in order to reserve chairs or else you would be out of luck. Hot water was hit and miss, but overall, loved this resort.
Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Wonderful Resort
This hotel was clean, spacious rooms, and the room service was excellent. The food was outstanding - a large variety of meats, vegetables, fish, drinks plentiful and everyone with a smile. The beach was clean and well cared for. There was always a lounger even if you got there late.
Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Amazing family oriented resort
Rooms were spacious enough and very well cleaned! Staff was very nice. Food choices was great. Restaurants amazing. Activities for all. Beaches were awesome- what more can you ask for? Will go again for sure
Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Excellent Resort in all aspects!!!
We were upgraded to the Esmeralda Section of the Gran Bahia Principe Complex in Punta Cana. It was wonderful in all aspects, the staff, food, room, grounds were impeccable as well as the pool and beach area. Trip Central made sure of our requests such as king size bed, upper floor of accommodations, non smoking, etc. to our delight. The service was wonderful.
BelleVue Dominican Bay: Fabulous vacation
Bus ride was a long one from airport .Reception was great we arrived late evening and the staff sent us to the buffet for dinner before they closed then we checked in.Room was clean and comfortable air conditioning could have been cooler at night.Pool bars and restaurants were all wonderful.Pool bar staff served skewers of fresh fruit around noon around the pool was a nice touch.Animacion crew were fantastic. They were very good at getting everyone to participate both in the games at the pool and [... read more]
Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Great trip
Food was great. Buffet was better than the specialty restaurants. Beach was great for walking but not good for swimming as there was too much coral. Got sucked into the Bahia PrÃncipe Privilege Club. We were told that you didn't have to buy anything but that's exactly what it was......a time share.
