Nice resort to be with family and friends, beach are amazing, recommend A+ There is nice activities , animation team are nice , best team ever is Ramiro’s As an advice on time of rain they should have more than one activity as a backup

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Place is old.

The place is older, ok for the discounted price, don't pay too much!!! Lots of steps to get to the beach. Food is he same every day. No tomatoes no salad dressings. No theme night menus. Staff is great very helpful. For the price I payed it was a good holiday.

Iberostar Selection Holguin: Beautiful resort

Well, the pool was already under renovation....we had to trot over to the pool at the star prestige section. The staff was excellent. It made for a lot of walking. The beach was quite nice. the water was warm, if a bit cloudy...probably due to some hurricane. Food was quite good, but not as much variety due to there not being too many people. Over all, I would recommend this hotel.

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: great vacation- liked it all

we stayed in this resort from September 20 till September 27, 2019. the special about this place is the beach!!! it is spacious and there are coral riffs for snorkeling nearby. Rooms are outdated but we could take it as is.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: This is our home!

We’ve been here, my husband and I,4 Times now. My parents somewhere in the 20’s. This is the place to go in cuba to feel like you are part of the family. The grounds are always well kept (just remember you’re in cuba and not a 5 star hotel in Toronto-supplies are different, but I can tell you the people put in way more effort then they are praised for.) The outdoor showers in the single stores villas are to die for- not once did I use the indoor shower. Beach- zero complaints, it’s the ocean and the sun and the vibe of being in paradise. Huge and loving shout out to our Cuban family members who have always gone above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and loved. Jorge, Judith, Roberto, Yulenis, Alien, Misladys, Lisbeth, Yemmy, Chang, Nessie and her husband Dickson, Ozmany, Juan Carlos, Pablo, Tamara- I’m forgetting people I know! I’m sorry but we love you! We will be returning next year and again and again. We’ve been to Varadero, Santa Clara and this place is always our golden standard. Thank you time and time again for being lovely hosts to our Family and making us feel like Paradisus is our second home.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Super resort !

This year I was 3 times at Atlantico and I love it. They do everything to make you feel good. The only problem, anywhere in Cuba, is on weekends when is crowded !🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 I will like to see the others bars around the old Guardalavaca hotel open !

Brisas Guardalavaca: Good resource

It was ok not that bad I stay in the Vilas good Beach not bad but not so good also the food was the worst thing repeating everyday same thing same food very bad customer service, I did not go back again unless they change the management they Dont have drinking water in the rooms I was thirsty till morning we get to the hotel late the Stor was close I was struggling till morning

Paradisus Rio De Oro: A week in paradise!

Just returned from a wonderful week at the Paradisus Rio De Oro. It is a beautiful resort. The beaches are great with the snorkeling being the highlight of our trip. Spacious rooms, gorgeous grounds, super friendly and helpful staff and good food. I can't wait to go again. I spent a day at their spa and the snorkeling off the beach there was amazing. It truly was like spending a week in paradise.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Nightmare!

We were utterly disgusted and disappointed with our vacation. Aside from cockroach in the food and the poop floating in the pool, our resort got shut down without notice or options. We were moved to an even worser resort like little prisoners, even as diamond club members after hours of waiting we were given a room that reaked like urine and an AC that didnt function, not to mention not enough beds. Again waited hours to get relocated (me insisting) to be moved to a room with no water. The custo [... read more]mer service was horrible. Sunwing reps were no where in sight and when asked questions we were told they dont know. This was our first and last trip to Cuba. Never again will I book with Sunwing, they robbed us of our happy time. Very disappointed.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Beautiful Resort

The grounds and rooms were clean. Maintenance staff came right away for any issues. Staff and customer services was great. Wasn't a busy time at the resort (Sept) , Food was typical to Cuba not bad by any means. They did near the end of the week run out of a few small things (resort was closing for renovations and to change to adults only) . Beach was nice but wasn't cleaned the last few days due to the resort closing. Rooms are typical Cuban resort style a little outdated but good. Still made the best of our vacation and had a great time and met lots of good local and foreign people.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: needs more help

Well, this hotel is still under renovation When we arrived they put us in the Villas but too far so we ask to be move and they where very good about that. The beach bar and pool bar where closed. So you had to get the drink at the lobby bar which is a long walk. They are also running out of the beer and then is no chicken - sweet and reg. potatoes not much fruit. So if you want a hamburger and fries you will get a patty and cumber and no buns or fries but they have plantain chip that where cut  [... read more]too thick. I think the chefs could be more creative. There was bread in the main restaurant but not in the pool bar so you at least could have bread between your meat. The staff where very good and now we heard that they are now on 16 hours shifts. They are also running out of fuel because of Venezuela. Otherwise when thing get better we will go back. So I think you have to keep to a 4-5 star at lease. I do like Cuba still and always!.

the hotel is getting old and tired .... it still has value ,,, a magnificent beach ... good staff a new five star is being build next door and expect some changes... one item you must change is to upgrade to a villa or a bungalo ( reasonable cost, plus a balcony , larger and quieter )... the old rooms are small, no balcony and clastaphobic... the internet is odd ... the $1.00 cards are really not dependable... now the hidden gem; the little restaurant that is hidden across from the 24 hou [... read more]r bar .... table service ... good variety of foods, and great ice cream.... just go there for breakfast and lunch .... avoid the lineups in the main restarant ... you will love this place ... the value is good,,. the beach is fantastic and the litle coves are great to snorkel yes, the place is older .... just enjoy and have a great time (one suggestion to make to your travel agent ; do not book the labour day weekend here.... it is openhouse for the locals ) .. once the weekend is over , this is a great place to relax and enjoy the people and weather of cuba

Playa Pesquero: execellent

Rooms very clean , service excellent . Food and choices very good. Good entertainment. Staff very friendly and helpful. Hard to get a carte reservation. Beach very nice. Gym good equipment. A lot of vegetables mixed with pork , should have vegetable only.

Playa Pesquero: Playa pesquero

Just spent a heavenly week at playa pesquero in holguin , the weather was fabulous , food great especially at the gala night. Had not been there in three years and saw a great improvement with the lobby . The rooms have not been revamped and are getting dated , but on that note the rooms were super clean and did not miss anything. wIll be back for sure.

We had a great vacation. We really enjoyed the quietness of the resort. We had a great time. The beaches are beautiful and the food is good. The people of Cuba are amazing. The rooms are a little dated but who spends time in their rooms? Overall a great vacation. Great place for families!!

Playa Pesquero: Breathtaking and beautiful resort

The grounds were lovely and very clean but we feel the rooms should be renovated. The mini bar was great to have. The fine dining restaurant should be air conditioned. Overall we had a wonderful stay and fantastic staff.

Brisas Covarrubias: Beautiful place

The beach and the people in the resort are amazing The food was fine and plenty of sunshine clear ocean and beautiful white sand. The room was clean and big with an ocean view that was out of this world

Playa Pesquero: Great first time!

The resort was big and beautiful! Lots of restaurants to choose from and lots of daily activities to join in on plus the staff are nice! And the beach is just gorgeous! They told us at check in that the room was a little small but when we walked in, there was nothing small about it at all.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Worst Vacation

Memories Holguín beach resort We stayed at Memories beach resort from August 16th-23 2019. So where do I begin with this nightmare of a vacation..... Checked in Friday evening around 9:30 pm Our room had no bottled water or pop. We had booked 2 rooms NONE had anything to drink. We headed to the snack bar ( by the way no explanation is giving as to where anything is so we decided to just walk looked on the map to find our way to the 24hr snack bar, there is very little ligh [... read more]ting along the paths as they are all burnt out. We are famished and thirsty by this time. What’s on the menu tuna sandwich and cheese sandwich. And that’s it. What’s there to drink besides alcoholic beverages as we have a 14 yr old and a 12 yr old. Lemonade or pina colada or there disgusting water which is not from the bottles. NO POP. That did not go well. Let’s go back to our room and hope that the next day gets better. Travelling around the resort in the evening was a challenge every night as most of the lights along the path are broken. Buffet breakfast long long line ups to get food. No bread no donuts pretty much everything was done but u waited at the omelet station because we needed to eat 1/2 hr wait in line as people kept budding in front of you. Not the tourists the locals staying at the resort. We were invisible. Drink wise once again NO POP. Just powdered orange juice water coffee or tea. Water is not bottled. Lunch time buffet by the time u got there if u were not there within 1/2 hr of being opened you were out of luck NO Food just scraps. Snack bar cheese sandwiches with a side of cucumber ( I am not kidding. ). Drinks Lemonade pina colada or water. NO POP. If your diabetic like my husband is you are out of Luck as there is no diet drinks at all. (Usually in past experiences hotels would have Cola light ) Dinner I was ill from being dehydrated so I stayed in. ( bottled water was delivered at 4:30 pm on Saturday evening Luckily I was in the room as the drink person was only giving me 1 bottled water and nothing else. After giving the guy 3 pesos he gave me some pop and 2 bottles of water ). I learned after this leave not only money for the maid but put money in the fridge and u shall receive more then just a bottle of water. So Back to dinner my kids and husband went to the buffet while I stayed in from being ill. Buffet once again was very limited. Chicken rice some veggies NO BREAD again. Something that is a staple food when I travel to CUBA. I have been to Cuba numerous times and know the selection of food. This was not a typical CUBAN vacation. (It was worse) Sunday let’s head to the breakfast buffet same story again. Lunch wow they have fried chicken thank god my kids can eat now. They also had hotdogs but no hot dog buns. And a side of cucumber. Drinks wow they now have sprite lemonade and pina colade. By the way the drinks are watery not slushie. A few times at the snack bar u were able to get pizza some days Fries , hot dog still no bun. But go early as they will run out and then u will resort back to tuna sandwiches or cheese sandwiches. I guess that’s what they keep the bread for the sandwiches. The resort has not diet pop in site. ( My husband could not drink anything except water) I usually drink strawberry daiquiris. They don’t have any. One evening my son found a cooked fly on his chicken. This was chicken that is cooked in front of you. Instead of making a scene we simply left the buffet feeling nauseated and disgusted and never to return again. I was at the 24 hr snack bar to get a drink I was told no more plastic cups they ran out. So she put it in a glass cup . As I was waiting at the bar one of the servers came with plastic cups but I noticed they were wet. I shrugged it off not saying anything to my husband but then that evening my husband tells us to not drink anything out of a plastic cups as he had witnessed one of the workers going thru the garbages by the pool late at night grabbing all the cups. I put 2 and 2 together and realized that’s why the cups were wet they are reusing them. I guess that’s what recycling means in Cuba. WOW I have never seen that before. At the buffet one of the couples we met advised us never to eat there soup here they witnessed someone trying the Soup at the buffet using the serving spoon. GROSS. By this time we were skipping the buffet for all meals. Booked the Ale carts. However at the restaurants most of the items were not available. The famous line for the week was sorry we didn’t get any in , and sorry it’s not available, or we ran out. Entertainment at the pool or beach was non existent and the odd time they had it , they spoke Spanish to cater to the Spanish folks English was scarce. I needed to call home to check in our dog sitter , apparently no calls to Canada can be made from there phone the lines were down . We needed internet cards ok no problem bought some the first day. They ran out quickly I have 2 teenage boys went to buy more they had none for 2 days. When it came again I bought 2 ran out again they don’t last the full hour went to buy more they ran out again!!! Main lobby ran out of pina colada also. Really when u think of vacations down south you think of tropical drinks strawberry Daiquiris, Pina Coladas. I can’t put any fault into the workers as they tried there best and were under staffed. The pools were nice the beach was ok but not typical Cuba beach. Sand was gritty instead of powdery. Another thing I can’t understand is why would the towel hut close at 4:30 pm when the pools are still open. We always brought back a dirty wet towel to our room. I have travelled to Cuba lots of times this is the worst nightmare ever. I normally want to keep staying on vacation but this time around I wanted to come home after my second day. What is really disappointing is this was to be a celebration vacation for being a cancer fighter and having a rough 6 months of having chemo and radiation treatments. It was ruined. Very disappointed in the memories chain however I did not put up a fuss while there as I had to make the best of a bad situation. Always putting on a brave face for my kids so they can enjoy this long overdue vacation with there Stepdad after watching him go through so much pain the last 6 months. Not impressed not happy very disappointed and upset

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Club Amigo Guardalavaca (villas) worth more than 3 star

Club Amigo has four section: Old Club Amigo, Bungalows, Tropical and top of the line Villas where we were located. July and August are the warmest months of the year especial in Cuba also no school therefore you can expect a lot of tourists from all over the globe especially Cuba a little crowded but Cuban people are very friendly. There is no fear or violence's to go any were or anytime. Yes, you may have to wait sometimes in line at the restaurant but the food was no diferance than 4* hotel [... read more], plenty of food and my favorite Cuban Ice cream. I could say we go to Cuba for Sun, Water and plenty of free entertainment (live bands, dance gropes, aqua acrobatic kids show, etc.) but not looking to gain pounds! We had Ocean view of 140 deg. hot water and A/C. 15 days without interruptions and located very close to ocean, one 24h. snack bar and many others including 1 in pool) Ocean water was very worm, almost no waves also lots of shade. For the money it is worth every penny.
