Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Amazing Beaches

The Hotel is probably 3.5 star....amazing beach and swimming in ocean. Sanctuary pool is very nice...room was average ..upgrade was not worth it...all and all a nice vacay. The coffee at the Sanctuary bar was very good as they serve all types of specialty coffees as well. Bar staff is very friendly as well the employees in general were very nice...only a small percentage of staff are english speaking

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Our 9th Time and Counting

Just returned from our second home the Sanctuary Grand Memories in Varadero Cuba for the 9th time. We cannot say enough about the staff Hanoy, Yeny, Jesus, Yurilays, Yessy L., Natali, Leosdani, Liusmila & Alec. Pleasure to meet the new Manager Saskia! Pleased to say the Italian restuarant’s food has improved so much I have to recommend you go and have a great meal there. We look forward to going back to the Italian restuarant because of her and now the food. The Rock and Roll band definitely rocks and the Opera duo are extremely talented. Two entertaining nights not to miss in the lounge bar and to meet the Captain of the bar Jesus and his staff Liusmila & Leosdani.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Amazing vacation!

Just spent a week at Sanctuary and it was amazing! The beach and pools were wonderful and so relaxing (with a great swim up bar). The rooms were beautiful and comfortable. Even the food was all delicious for Cuba... LoL. But the best part was definitely the staff! Everyone was so friendly and helpful, especially our butlers Zadys and Mercedes. We’ll definitely consider coming back in the future!

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Not impressed

We liked that this was a small resort,but after 24 hours we found out the ac was set on 25 the ac would not get the room below 25 but felt warmer in the room there was mould around the ac and smelled very musty, there was many tiny ants in the room and I got bit by something the first night when I sat on the bed , There was a constant shortage for foods all week, at the buffet there was under cooked meat and refrigerator cold potatoes the food was just overall terrible I got sick after the fir [... read more]st time eating and have been sick ever since Diamond club was not worth it as there was no perks other than getting beer in the fridge and a breakfast at the one of the restaurants Diamond club bar was not exclusive to diamond club members could not get a seat on this bar as it was constantly full with non diamond club members this resort needs to concentrate on upgrades they need to ensure that the diamond club members actually get diamond club perks

Memories Paraiso: Memories Paraíso closed for summer

We were told the resort was closed so we were upgraded to Gran Memories. Customer Service was lacking, at times rude. Beach was beautiful! Pizza was very good at the pizza hut. Pool area smelled of raw sewage and room had a musty smell. Many safety issues, e.g. missing floor tiles, wet tiles on landings, chunks of concrete missing on walk ways, lack of evening lighting. Will not go back to Cuba, will spend the extra money and go to Mexico happily.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Totally awesome beach!

The only down side to this resort ! that I found was that after the night show was over around 9.30 ish. There was no more intertaiment at all. Night bar ! Etc. Would of been nice to have someone play at the bar. Low key after 10 oc. Dianne at the reception desk was awesome to deal with she is a asset to the resort! And so is the assistant Manager who is totally awsome.

Royalton Splash Punta Cana: Fantastic resort

This was the nicest resort we've been to. Enjoyed every minute with our family. Something for all ages. The food was delicious with lots of variety in the buffet. The 3 restaurants were very good also. We had no complaints.

Royalton Splash Punta Cana: A dream fulfilled!

My daughter, her husband and three sons, aged 3, 7 & 8, my son and his wife and I went on a family vacation to Grand Memories Splash in Punta Cana. From our first steps into the airport to our return home - everything was better than expected. Our flight was great, a first time flying experience for the three boys and connections well timed to and from the hotel. Check in was smooth and easy, our rooms well appointed and clean. The staff was more than accommodating. The wee ones and their Mom and Dad don’t do dairy and our concierge, Edwin, and the chefs were wonderful in offering them a great variety of non dairy options including making pancakes and fresh French toast every morning. We all enjoyed the entertainment for the children as well as the later, grown up shows. We never waited too long for the little trolleys. There are a number of peacocks and peahens strutting about as well as cranes, herons, ducks, wild parrots and more strutting about. We stayed in building 29 which was central to almost everything. The water park was just across the road and restaurants close by. The pools were lovely and inviting especially those for the Diamond Club members. Our 7 & 8 year olds as well as the older ‘boys’ thoroughly enjoyed the large, exciting water slides. We never had to wait for a table at the buffet restaurant as DC members. Every morning,Edwin, came by our table to ensure everything was up to parr and to tweak and fine tune anything we might need as well as make our restaurant reservations. He was amazing and truly appreciated. We dined primarily at the buffet restaurant which had a delicious choice of specialties every day. We also had a fun and tasty meal at the Mexican Cantina and the seafood restaurant. Lunch was tasty at the Royalton buffet and the beach there- Devine! Our rooms faced the back, treed area which was peaceful and calming. I wanted this to be a trip to remember and it exceeded all of our expectations. I would highly recommend this hotel to any family looking for a clean, safe, welcoming and exciting adventure.

Royalton Splash Punta Cana: SUCH A FUN TIME!!! BEAUTIFUL GROUNDS

Me and my mom just got back from a one week stay at the Grand Memories splash in Punta Cana, at first I did not know what to expect since google and it’s images do not meet ends with their photos, but let me tell you, my expectations were exceeded! Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Great time!

Overall we had an amazing stay. Traveled as a couple from April 23-30th. Grounds are very well kept. We stayed in building 18 and the room was very nice. We had a door to the bathroom and no issues with hot water. Beach is beautiful. Water is calm and shallow. We usually went to the beach around 11am and had no issues finding chairs. We did a couples massage at the end of the beach that was awesome. It was 30 cucs for 2 people for 30 minutes and was worth it. Buffet always has fresh grill stations (beef, chicken, fish, stir fry) and fresh pasta. All very good no complaints. There are bugs at night we always sprayed with big spray before leaving the room and had no issues. Overall it was great for what you’re paying and we would go back!

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Amazing Resort!!!

This was our first trip to Cayo Coco, Cuba and it Surpassed our Expectations!!!! All of the Staff are extremely Friendly and Welcoming!! Our Accomadation was quite clean and Beautifully designed. There was quite a selection of foods to meet even the most fussy dining guests. Also, I cannot forget the Beach... Simply Stunning!!!!!!

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Diamond Club

I had purchased Diamond Club as an upgrade. For this I received the following. The bathroom was disgusting. Shower tiles were broken. Floor tiles had mouldy grout. I had no hot water for the entire 7 days. No-one cared. The rest of the room is best described as run down. My view was of the back wall of a building not of the pool.

The resort was Beautiful lots to do wasn’t overly big the pools were good the ocean was amazing very clean. The food wasn’t too bad you could always find something to eat. It’s also the end of the season. Accommodations were very good. The staff was amazing. I definitely would recommend it and I would also go again. The weather was good only had one storm at night but it was amazing to watch. Thanks

Sol Turquesa Beach: Great memories at Memories

This was my first time to Cuba and had an amazing time.The Memories resort Holguin was clean,the food was great with lots to choose from,the room was huge and clean and no issues all week,the resort was huge with lots of steps so not a great spot for someone with a disability,the beach was a 7 out of 10 with the only down fall being the sea weed all in all it was a great week. This is the only resort I have traveled to twice. Staff are wonderful here. Best pool bar tenders I have ever seen. resort is clean, and beach is spectacular. Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Wonderful Trip!

Amazing trip overall but probably will not return as too many issues had come up. They messed up on one of our reservations, we discussed the issue with the hotel manager and they were great and fixed the issue.The pool bar could be open a little later. There was a bug issue in our room as well as our friends room at night time, they came through the window and we had to have fumigation in order for them to not come back. Also, we received TripCentral cards for bonus cards that we were unable to [... read more] use worth $100 each. We attempted to use it at the VIP lounge in Toronto but they were closed, we tried to use it on an excursion but they did not know how to use it in Cuba. I spent a decent amount of money to go on this trip and I did not get my moneys worth. Would NOT recommend to: Non-smokers, People with allergies, people with epilepsy, ablutomaniacs (clean freaks), people with entomophobia (fear of insects), and anyone who is wanting a higher than a sub-par vacation Would recommend: Smokers, people who are fine with a sub-par vacation Pros: • Beaches are beautiful • Gardens are well maintained • Rooms are spacious (Junior Suite) • Staff a [... read more]re friendly • Omelette guy is a pro (would recommend omelette guy with the red “Kiss the Chef” hat) • Food is plentiful (would recommend the omelette and lamb) • Micheal Jackson theatre event was very well done (Micheal Jackson didn't pass away, he just went to Cuba) Cons: • Pool bar closes way too early • Rooms are not cleaned regularly • They messed up our reservations • Giant beetles were found in our room at night (8 beetles in my room, 15 in my friends, the patio doors were closed, the beetles were double the size of my thumb) • Food is sub-par (avoid the cheese and pizza) • They don’t clean their dishes when they finish cooking a meal in front of you (frying pans) • People with allergies beware (make sure to let staff know but I personally wouldn’t trust it) • People with epilepsy beware (during theatre events they do not give epilepsy warnings and the screen behind the dancers flashed in rapid succession for over 2 minutes) • Theatre events were falsely advertised and need to be updated • People smoke in the lobby and within 5 feet of their children (no non smoking areas) • Loud unruly events when and where people are trying to get food (buffet area) • Alcohol is poured to be half of your cup (can be a pro for some people) • No variety of alcoholic drinks • For 3 days they did not have: Mojitos, Bloody Marys, Ketchup and more • One of the two 24 hour bar was closed for over a day (not the sports bar, the lobby bar was closed due to a flood of water bar tenders were walking on wooden boards before it was closed) • Staff look and act like they’d rather be anywhere but there (I found this mostly with the clerks at the front desk, and female bar tenders) • Rooms look like they need a good renovation • Not enough staff to help with cooked food (lines are long to get decent food) • Could not use a gift card that was meant for excursions • Washrooms are disgusting (went back multiple times to see if they were cleaned/condition improved: they weren’t) • Sports bar smells like urine (turns out a pipe burst, but they didn’t close the bar to fix it) Advice to the Manager: • Clean your washrooms! All of them are in terrible condition. Either make sure your staff is cleaning them, give them better cleaning products, and/or get them cleaned more regularly. • Teach your bar tenders more alcoholic drink recipes and the proper amount of alcohol needed in the drinks they make. • Close the Sports Bar and get the pipe fixed. No one wants to drink or be in a place that smells like urine. • Have a non smoking area. • Have the events at the theatre not in the buffet at 5:00pm. • Update the theatre event wall. It is falsely advertised and needs an update. • Have an epilepsy warning during an event with the screen flashing like that. • Fumigate the room a day before people arrive. No one wants their room fumigated on their vacation, let alone dealing with giant beetles in their room.

Sol Turquesa Beach: A lot of walking

My first time to this resort and it is HUGE!!!! You are going to need walking shoes and a lot of stairs. If you are placed in the 800 block you have quiet a home to get to the lobby the buffet or pools and the beach. I was in the 500 block and was almost right on the beach. The food was amazing. I’m super picky and thought I would starve but it was great. A very clean resort and if you have any issues in your room they are pretty quick to fix it.
