Sheraton Buganvilias Puerto Vallarta Hotel: Great Resort

This resort is in a great location, a short walk to the Malacon. We had a terrace room and although we didn't really have a view of the ocean, it was nice to be able to sit outside. The food was good. The pool area was busy but it was nice to be able to order from the menu at lunch and have it brought to us as we lounged around the pool. I had to get up at 6:30 to secure spots at the pool where we would get maximum sun all day long. The beach was a bit of a disappointment as the sand was hard and rocky. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I would recommend and return to this resort.

JOIA Paraiso by Iberostar: Top Notch Resort

The hotel itself is beautiful and reminds one of an upscale cruise ship. The surrounding property is so well laid out and fabulous looking that we were constantly commenting about it day after day. The staff at this resort makes a stay truly special. They are friendly, courteous, cheerful and so very helpful everywhere you go on the property. We prefer an oceanfront room and the superior ocean front suite did not disappoint. My wife loves looking out on the ocean from the comfort of her own balcony. As experienced travellers we can not imagine a hotel providing a better overall experience than the Iberostar Grand Hotel Paraiso.

Royal Solaris: Great Time!

We had a fantastic time at this resort. The grounds were beautiful and very well taken care of. The food for breakfast and lunch were amazing, but it seems that at dinner time most of the food was recycled. Needless to say we always found something delicious to eat. Ma [... read more]ke sure you hop on the local Urbano bus(which picks you up right outside of the resort and only costs $1 USD) to check out the city centre of San Jose del Cabo and if you get a chance eat at Jazmin's! We also took the local transit to Cabo San Lucas (which you catch up by Le Combre and costs $3 USD) and I highly recommend it. Lots of shops and restaurants. We also took a water taxi for a tour of the Arch. $20 each got us snorkelling gear and a tour. The only down side to the resort is you can't swim in the ocean due to the strong current and waves, but we were aware of this before we booked so we were not disappointed.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: We'd go back in a heartbeat!!!

Just returned from a one week stay at the ORP in an Eden room. I was a bit apprehensive over the bad reviews I read before I left. As expected for being open 2 months there are still kinks that need to be worked out but overall, I had an AMAZING time. The OR promises a 5 star experience and I can honestly say that I enjoyed one. Check  [... read more]in was seamless taking 15 minutes. We received a delicious welcome drink, and we were drive to our room 5 mins later. . A very nice woman named Marta was introduced to us as our host. She provided maps to the grounds and the area, provided coupons for tours and tried to get us to attend a welcome (sales) breakfast the following day. We declined and were never approached by her, or other 'salespeople" again. The room was impeccably staged and prepared for our stay. The mini-fridge was well stocked and remained so all week. Housekeeping was fantastic. We spent most of our time at the Eden pool. Delicious drinks, daily bingo, dance classes, aqua fitness, crazy games: heaven! We strolled to the El Beso pool for the Tuesday foam pool party and were not disappointed! What a blast! We feasted at most of the restaurants and enjoyed not having to line up to make reservations. The Japanese and Italian restaurants were top-notch, with the Mexican and Romantic in second place. The breakfast buffet was fresh, plentiful, and served up with Mimosas: who could ask for anything more? We enjoyed daily lunches at the beach grill, followed by a quick dip in the beach pool. Sadly, we did not swim in the ocean as it was terribly choppy and much too rocky to enjoy. We did however indulge in sinfully amazing beach massages, and woke up early to witness a beautiful sunrise by the beach. Although all pool bars close at 5:00 p.m., the lobby bar remains open (for what seems like 24/7!) and sets the stage well for the nightly entertainment. We watched 2 evening shows in the theatre, caught a live fire show outside, and enjoyed browsing through the goods that local vendors set up one evening. The bowling lanes are a very popular spot and so we only managed to enjoy bevvies there, and no actual bowling. Was great fun to watch and is a hit with all guests. Overall, I would highly recommend the ORP for all groups (families, couples, singles). Note that it is a very large resort, with golf carts and busses only travelling through unpredictably so some with mobility issues and young children could find it challenging to make it from one end to the other. If you are looking for a clean, modern, ultra-chic resort that is a quick taxi ride away from the action in Playa Del Carmen, look no further. This is the spot for you!

Costa Club Punta Arena: Not without it's flaws - but a great stay none the less!

Costa Club presents an amazing opportunity for discount travellers to indulge in a all inclusive experience while being able to explore the heart of Downtown Vallerta. Pros: Price Location (close to airport, restaurants, beaches, etc) Clean Pools Friendly Staff Cons: Beach (rocky, high tides, etc) Food (lack of variety, kids under 11 are not allowed to eat at their Italian restaurant) No fridge in room Wi-Fi (barely accessible) Shows (most of the nights they only have Karaoke [... read more] - attendance is often less than 5 people) Ongoing construction around pools (noise, etc) Overall, I had a great stay. The location of this hotel gave me the opportunity to explore and make the most of my vacation. This is a 3 star hotel - don't go expecting a 5. The food is edible, the rooms are clean, the beer is cold and for the most part the sun is shinning, I would return. A waking dream of Mexico - until next time!

Villas Vallarta by Canto del Sol: Good location and great staff!

We had not been to Puerto Vallarta before and were looking for an inexpensive but decent all-inclusive. This one fit the bill since we were happy with the meals (excellent 'a la carte' dinners), the rooms were adequate (not palatial), there was a tennis court, exercise room, 3 pools, activities if you were interested (Spanish lessons, kayaking, water exercises, dance lessons, etc.) and very good evening entertainment. The best thing about it was the pleasant staff - no request was too big or t [... read more]oo small and every single staff member you met in the resort would give you a smile and an 'Ola!'. It was in a good location for banks, groceries, small stores, larger shopping mall and the Malecon - all within walking distance but if you aren't up to a good walk, it didn't cost more than 80 MXN for a taxi to the Marina or Malecon. Be prepared to walk as some of the rooms are quite a ways from the front desk (which we liked-quieter and more privacy) The bigger hotel we had access to was beachfront, so it was easy to get to the beach as well. All-round, a good place to be for a relaxing, easy time.

Allegro Cozumel: GREAT RESORT AND STAFF

WE ENJOYED OUR STAY BUT HAD A SCORPION IN MY UNZIPPED LUGGAGE WHICH ENDED UP STINGING ME 3 TIMES,I GOT IMMEDIATE HELP FROM THE NEXUS REP JOSHUA AND THE RESORT REP MIRNA, AND THE SECURITY GUARD ,THEY ALL HELPED GO THROUGH OUR LUGGAGES AND FINALY FOUND IT AND DESTROYED IT,THEY ARRANGED THE MEDIC TO CHECK MY VITALS AND ENDED UP MOVING US TO AN UPGRADED ROOM.AFTER A DAY OF REST WE WERE ABLE TO ENJOY THE REST OF OUT TRIP ,THE FOOD WAS PRETTY GOOD.

Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach: great resort

We had a 14 night holiday beautiful resort lots of walking which we like met a lot of other Canadians, weather was perfect , food good steak house the best we did twice and Italian good. lobby bar had the friendliest bartenders and our housekeeper was excellent. Only complaint was cement buildings everything echoes doors slamming and people and the carts are noisy through the night. Grand Oasis Cancun: Don't Stay Here!

This hotel is in a bad need of repairs. We were told that they are putting 100 million dollars into the facility - yes, they were painting but bathroom fixtures were old, mouldy and broken. The construction and painters started their day off early and ended it late. They were on our balconies and it made it very awkward. Walls are paper thin and the security does nothing for loud guests. We had 4 beach towels for 5 people... no more. We didn't have bath towels for 2 days in our room. Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: A great vacation at a world class resort

Everything about this resort was wonderful. The food especially the Japanese and Italian restaurants were exceptional, the service in the hotel, in the bars and in the restaurants was great and the location was to die for. The pools were clean and very accessible.

Grand Oasis Cancun: super resort

So many options for eating and a large variety of nightlife! Rooms are clean and the resort was well kept. Staff is friendly. Large footprint of a hotel, so lots of walking to get to everything on the resort.

Riu Vallarta: I'm open to try a different Riu Hotel

The Hotel lobby was open and clean. The room where average, nothing special, smelled like mildew in the room. The bed was very uncomfortable, hard, and springs poking through the mattress, and only 3 small lumpy pillows. I went down and talked with staff at the desk the very next morning and inquired about another room. The lady behind the desk was very rude. She said, "what's wrong with you lady, your on the 8th floor!'' I told her that bed was the issue not the 8th floor. Then she said there w [... read more]ere no rooms available. The food was average for an all inclusive, the a la cart were not managed well-the manager said it was first come first serve, so I went and grabbed my friends within 2 minutes and returned back to Sir Georges and he said they were full. He did give me a puck and it lit up about 2 hours later. I wish he would have just gave me a puck right away. The buffet cafés had birds flying in out, at least 80% of the food was covered. I developed irritable bowel syndrome at this hotel, and took another week to recover. There were 2 pools , clean, one was family centered, hard to find a spot unless you woke at 6 am. I found that the bar tenders ignored the women and not the men when ordering drinks. There was plenty of entertainment every day at the pool and just about every night . People were hooting and hollering every night up to 2 a.m. So excellent place to stay if you enjoy the night life.

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: Tropical and elegance all in one package

We've never had a more wonderful vacation. The resort had the feel of the tropics but was so elegant wuth its marble walkways and tigerwood walkways. The water features in the evening were so beautiful. All of the staff were so friendly and helpful. It was evident they wanted to make sure you were enjoying yourself. The food was amazing. Occidental Cozumel: Snorkeling Heaven

My wife and I both loved Occidental Cozumel. The snorkeling off the resort beach is fantastic seen yellow rays,squid,barracuda and countless other fish. I was snorkeling at least 3 hours a day. If you have a chance to snorkel the reefs (afternoon excursion to two different reefs do it you won't regret it)(shark,dolphins,eagle rays and sting ray all in one afternoon) The resort is small and is in a beautiful setting...wildlife everywhere nature lovers will love it here..The food is OK. Try the roof top pizza the cozumel pizza was are favorite (Seafood). We met with many return travelers that said the resort is improving all the time......I think we will return also.

Occidental at Xcaret Destination: Gorgeous Resort

We had an awesome time at the resort. The grounds were well kept with amazing wildlife running around. The pool areas were very nice and kept clean and free of debrie. All the staff on site were very helpfull and curtious. Rooms also were very nice and the cleaning staff friendly and efficient. I wold recommend this resort highly for all ages. Felt this to be a bit unfair for some of the women were very poorly dressed as if they did not care that they were in a restaurant were all ages are present.

Crown Paradise Club Cancun: Amazing resort geared for children

From the kids club to the pools to the movie theater and games room, there is something for everyone. This was my first family vacation with all 4 of my boys (aged 5,7,12,22) We got 2 rooms on the main level in front of the pool with an ocean views. We had originally requested 2 double beds in each room but then upgraded one of the rooms to a king with a semi wall and a triple bunk on the other side. The little ones loved the ocean, kids club, water slides, pools etc. My 12 & 22 year old played water polo and beach volleyball daily and also enjoyed the pools. The food was great, there was always something to eat no matter what time it was. Even for the kids there was always something. The best waiter by far at the buffet was Pepe, he really took care of us. The best bar tender at the pool was Nieser. The staff was always happy and polite. I was nervous taking this many kids to an all inclusive but was pleasantly surprised and would definitely return. I am a resort snob usually and I found that all of my expectations were met and so were the kids. No-one was ever bored. We will definitely return. Enjoy!

Grand Oasis Cancun: Grand Oasis Cancun is a JOKE!!!!!

I've been to plenty of resorts and very, very reasonable. But for a place like this in unbelievable pathetic and embarrassing. Other than the people I met on this trip and the beach was good (other than u cannot take the lounger past a rope line and the beach volleyball court has a forest behind w/ roots/branches sticking out of it) I know travel agents have no say on what goes on at these resorts but if you get these types of complaints~~~Why promote them? Here is my breakdown : 1) C [... read more]heck-in is F*** SLOW!!!!!!! I arrived at the resort around 9pm and was maybe 8th in line?... It took me an hour to get checked in....One guy working. I saw other workers walking around doing nothing.... Also the guy who checked me in had the smart @$$ remark on when I asked him if there is courtesy shower cause I have a late flight the end of my trip. He says... "Make friends"... Serious???? 2) To pay for a room safe lock is sometimes ok (don't know why it's not part of the hotel fees) but to pay $7US a day for a whole week is friggin' robbery! 3) Pay for an up-grade of $25/day (NOT on ROOMS but for specialty dining / drinks) That means people who don't do this is NOT ENTITLED to it AFTER PAYING good money for an all inclusive is a JOKE!!! 4) For people who didn't get these "Black Wristbands" Have to lineup EVERY DAY at 6:00pm to reserve a time. 5) For other restaurants you have there's a waiting list~~~So that means you have to leave your day activities, cleanup, then lineup to get a dinner spot~~~Most likely, it'll be an hour late...Unbelievable!!! 6) If you're S.O.L. on getting in on any of these restos~~~you go to the buffet and you guess it, another long @$$ lineup..Serious??? The food in there MUST be the leftovers from the other specialty restos... To have NO made to order pasta is sad.... Only edible thing I had was spaghetti/meatballs with day old nuggets..Geeeeez 7) Breakfast~~~Isn't that supposed to be the most important meal?? Only good thing was the lovely lady who made the eggs (bless her for feeding me) But to have BACON for only ONE day I was there is embarrassing~~~Even Cuba had bacon EVERYDAY for breakfast. 8) My room was 4410 (wk of Feb12-19, 2017) My door can be easily be opened from the other but giving it a good push (no key card required) Of course I complained and lo and behold they'll get someone there...an hour later nothing~~~ So I didn't bother cause I've been waiting wait too long. Meeting new friends and having sunny weather saved a bit for this trip~~~Grand Oasis Cancun is a money grabbing resort that only cares for people who paid $200 EXTRA on top of their vacation. JJ ARROZ PS : This rant is a God honest truth, But I'll be really surprised this comes into print or forwarded to the resort.... But Trip Advisor and other hotel reviews will know. Hotel Irma Zihuatanejo: Still our favourite

Fantastic view and location -- both from the comfortable rooms and the pool area -- plus stellar service. A great choice for those who prefer to be out and about on holiday, not at an all-inclusive resort.

Riu Santa Fe: Amazing and clean

great food,clean, very helpful staff..... take a cab to the marina and see the market but you don't really need to leave resort it has every thing .Lots of goods being sold on the beach ( blanket plates silver goods hats sun glasses )A great get away

Iberostar Waves Cozumel: Great Holiday

We enjoyed 10 days at this resort(feb8-feb18)..the rooms are dated but kept exceptionally clean. The first room we were given was very musty smelling and had 2 beds, we were disappointed, but the man who brought our luggage said not to touch anything in the room and to talk to the reception desk..we did this and they were very accommodating and gave us another room more to our liking. The grounds were kept immaculate. The staff were lovely, very friendly and made us feel at home . The food was v [... read more]ery good and lots of selection at the buffet. Very nice pool with one side for activities and the other for more relaxation, with the pool bar open to both sides.Small beach with rocky entrance to water (bring water shoes) going in off the pier was fine....lots of beach on either side of resort if you like walking on the beach....the dressel divers on site are very professional, my husband got his certification and enjoyed many dives...you can also go snorkeling with them and they provide you with wetsuits and a guide for the group and take you out to the 2 diving reefs....there is a souvenir shop by the pool where you can paint ceramics and they will bring them back the next day after firing them. ...entertainment was so so, but it didn't really matter to us. .all in all it was a very positive experience, beautiful country, beautiful people and a resort that has more of a village or family feel to it.... the sunsets over the ocean are spectacular rent a vehicle for a day and explore the Atlantic side of the island (ChenRio is a great place to stop for seafood and beautiful beach) Would return in a heartbeat
