Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Amazing Resort

The accommodations were modern and clean, the grounds well laid out and everything we needed was readily available. The staff were great but there were several standouts. The breakfast staff, Goddy and Abraham in the Hideaway dining room were attentive, pleasant and their warm smiles started our day off right. Edgar at the omelet station is fantastic as well, make sure you get an omelet from him before you leave, he made ours just right every day. If you're staying at The Hideaway make sure you dine at The Dorado and ask for Carlos to wait on you, what a gentleman and professional. We are planning on returning as soon as we can, this resort checked all the boxes for us and it's only a 15 minute trip from the airport!

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Beautiful resort

Amazing resort, relaxing and a great time, all the staff were amazing, the grounds were really taken care of. Ac worked amazing in our room, food was amazing, breakfast buffet had lots. The resort is mainly an older crowd we were part of the very few young ones there. only negative thing I have about the resort is there isn’t music the whole time at the pool which is weird. Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Overall a nice place to holiday

My husband and I went to the resort for our honeymoon. After many attempts to let the staff know it was our honeymoon, we were underwhelmed Food and buffets were great, the restaurant booking process was not ideal- a la carte can be booked in advance with no limitations, so getting in to the highly rated restaurants was virtually impossible. Room service was a life saver. The beach was decent, lots of seaweed on adult only side. The room was nice and spacious, we had purchased the ocean view ro [... read more]om and it was beautiful. The sliding door was not tracking properly though and so a lot of warm wind was whistling in at all times of the day/night making noises and not allowing the room to cool down properly. We made the best of it.

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Wonderful experience

The hotel was very clean and efficient. There were some closures due to the renovation but overall everything was excellent. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The food delicious in the restaurants and always great at the buffet as well. People were friendly and helpful. Would gladly go back again.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Great holiday

We had a nice holiday, but it’s not a 5 star hotel. Pros; Best thing about this hotel was the Food selection. Restaurants al a cart were great, but make sure to book ahead. The adults only beach was great it always had lots of chairs available any time of the day. People are very friendly and attentive. Con’s: We upgraded to ocean front villa 47 and room needs a huge overhaul. You could not get a chair at the main pool if you didn’t reserve early enough. At 6 am all the s [... read more]haded loungers were taken. The water at the pool was way too warm. Not cooling at all. Wish there were staff available bring drinks around pool and beach.

Riu Palace Mexico: Wonderful Resort!

This was our first time at this resort. My husband and I will definitely go back again . The staff was amazing, the food was delicious , and the accommodations were comfortable. Furthermore, they keep the hotel super clean at all times. Easy access to the beach. We always were able to find a beach long chair , no matter the time of day. Also, the ladies bathroom that was at ground level next to the Mexican Restaurant was often not very clean, compared to everywhere else in the hotel. We did not use the pool, because it was extremely hot . Not refreshing at all. We preferred just going to the ocean. Having said that, everything else was great. We enjoyed the night entertainment, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Great resort!

Dreams Jade Resort and Spa: Great resort, horrible food

If we were coming to this resort just to enjoy the pool, rooms, staff I would definitely come back, but unfortunately the food was mediocre and the same thing everyday. We had some trouble with check in and constantly being told to check back in an hour, after 5 hours of waiting after being told our room would be ready in 1 hour, we finally got our King suite tropical view. Resort itself is well laid out all the restaurants/shops are in the main area. We never ventured over to the preferred side as we never needed too. Pools never felt over crowded even with the main one, being closed for a day to clean up some baby poop. By far the best was the infinity that overlooked the beach area. There was never a free chair by the pool even in the sun. We often found a drop spot to put our stuff and just spent the day in the pool. We were celebrating our first vacation without our young kids, so we were enjoying not having to be up at 6am everyday which seems like you need to, to snag a pool char. Can rent cabanas we were quoted $100 usd a day others were quoted different prices. Beach is small but that's fine by us as I hate walking foe miles through the sand to get to the water. Because the water was so close when you were in the infinity pool it felt like you were right there. Food. Honestly there was never not something to eat, but your going to wait in long lines to get in and at the buffet wait in long lines to get made to order meat/fish/eggs. Fruit was subpar not even pineapple which I love nothing more than pineapple on vacation, they had lots of apples which were bland. Food being restocked at the buffet took forever,. A la carte. The only one we thoroughly enjoyed was the Asian/Tepenakyi. Every other restaurant was meh, and dessert was bland and unappealing. Staff work tirelessly, most have a smile and genuinely make you feel welcomed, there are always those that seem like they hate life and show it in their customer service. Honestly for the price you pay now for vacations, especially booking last minute and still spending a big chunk of change I expected more for my money.

Dreams Tulum Resort and Spa: Jim Oneill-Wonderful person and agent who saved our bachelor party

Jim Oneill from TripCentral was amazing and deserves recognition for his great work. He helped me save a 7-person bachelor party trip that was jeopardized after a bad interaction with another travel agency. I contacted him with our goals for the trip and he immediately helped us and provided a trip package within the same day (on a Sunday!). Since it was the weekend, we had everything booked by the following day and everything went smoothly from there. Barcelo Maya Tropical: Exceptional hotel!

This hotel far exceeded all of our expectations! I travel quite frequently and this hotel by far is a winner in every way. Entertainment, food, beach, cleanliness, service. Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Fantastic Vacation!

The renovated suite was beautiful. There’s lots of updating needed in the hotel but once completed it will be back to its full glory. The beach is superb, service is as warm as sunny July! Food is good. Some stuff better than others, but we were able to find something great to eat in every meal. Hotel is perfect for a quiet relaxing vacation, if you are looking for activities and a partying atmosphere, this is not the place. We fell in love with Akumal and will certainly be back!

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Excellent resort overall, staff that make a difference

A good experience through Cancun Airport, and an early arrival at the hotel with a room that wasn't ready allowed us to meet Israel the doorman. He remembered our names for the 10 days we were there, and that was a very personal touch that set the tone for this trip. The grounds of this hotel are immaculately groomed, and it has two sister resorts adjacent with very mature grounds. The room was clean and neat, everything worked properly, although the tile floor was getting a little tired. Huge two person shower with railheads was very well received. The beach for Platinum Yucatan Princess is small, but was clean. The adjacent sister resorts beach suffered from an influx of seaweed. The hotel is surrounded on 2 sides by mangroves, and post hurricane Beryl there was a distinct odour in the pool area at times. The pools were well maintained and clean, and never crowded. The food at the various restaurants was excellent, and no reservations needed at the a-la-carte restaurants. Bar service was good and efficient. The Lobby had a bar that also did specialty coffees - highly recommended. The hotel staff were consistently doing maintenance that varied from re-doing rooms to hurricane damage repair of ceilings in the outdoor spaces. I would return in a heartbeat - the only negative was no remote for the TV in the room, despite reporting it an asking for it to be rectified. Then again, we didn't go there to watch TV.

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Horrible resort

Went with a large group for a wedding, half of the group got severe food poisoning. Super unfriendly staff. Very outdated. The pools were warm and dirty, the beach was very nice. Had to walk very far for towels also, about a 1.5 hr shuttle from airport

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Fantastic experience!

The Akumal was wonderful! We stayed in one of the new swim-up rooms and the pool was fantastic. We were very impressed by the layout of the resort, the food at the buffet, and the a la carte restaurants. There was also lots of wildlife- it was very exciting! The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely reccommend!

Royal Hideaway Playacar: Fantastic Vacation

This was our first time in Mexico. Hotel grounds were impeccable; service was delightful; food was scrumptious.Loved the aqua aerobics; the free champagne at check in; the quick turn around re room service between 11 pm-7 a.m. Appreciated the hotel bathrobe and slippers and champagne, chocolates and fruits waiting for us upon arrival. Make full use of your concierge assigned to your unit. Loved the boxed lunch to go since we were leaving early. Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Very nice resort

We were there during the recent hurricane and the hotel did an amazing job both in preparations for it and the clean up afterward. Did feel there could have been a bit better communication after it. There is definitely some repairs needed throughout the resort but it was clean and you could tell they were trying. Did have an issue with ordering Gluten free pancakes but they were very good with tell me what was gf.

My family and I stayed at the Royalton Hideway Resort Diamond Club. I want to say that our service was amazing. Our butlers were outstanding and were there for all of us when we needed them. Out of all the restaurants, the Mexican was outstanding, I can’t say enough about the service we received there. It was so amazing that we ate there twice and we we not disappointed.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Huge Resort with lots of variety for food!

We had an amazing week at Bahia Principe Akumal. Its our first time travelling with our 20 month old so we had alot of concerns and requests to make our stay more convenient. We requested to be on the ground level as I found out doing my research that there are no elevators so it would be really hard to get up and down with stroller and everything else. The kids club people were really awesome, they let us drop in with our baby just to hang around because she is still too little to be dropped off. Our servers Eric, Jesus for breakfast and Jose and G for lunch and for dinner Hector. They were all very attentive and had a high chair ready for us soon as we walked in. Our hotel room was dated but it was very well maintained. Our mini bar is always fully stocked. I requested to have lots of water so i can make a bottle for my daughter every night and also our room was kept clean and with fresh towels daily. The resort is huge so studying the map is necesarry because the signs are fairly small and easily missed. Especially since you will have access to all other resorts such as coba, tulum and sian kan adults only. My baby loved the waterpark in tulum. There are no kids waterpark in akumal but there are plenty of swimming areas with shallow ends. The beach is amazing! But dont forget your water shoes. Glad i did my research and got my family aqua shoes because oh boyy the rocks are not fun. There were kids and people getting cuts on their toes and some lady even got a really bad one, it got infected. Otherwise, the ocean is beautiful, its got a man made barrier so you dont get the huge waves. It was the highlight for me! As im a beach person. Be careful with the sand my daughter had a lot of sand flea bites by sitting on it for too long. I should have made her wear a body suit. On that note, the bug bites! There are lots and also mosquitos at night attacking our feet while we hang out in the lobby as well as theatres. Bring lots of good bug spray. Its really really warm this time of the year i got me one those tiny electric fans from amazon. They were life savers. The food in general was amazing! Lots and lots of variety. I ate fish and seafood everyday. They were so fresh here. The meats are hit and miss sometimes it tends to be too dry but over all flavours were still really good. Lots of fresh fruits and desserts daily and the best iced coffee at the coffee shop! Breakfast has so much variety.

The grounds are lush and well maintained. Nice lighting for walking at night. The rooms are spacious, clean and beds comfortable. Enjoyed the patio, which had comfortable furniture. The pools were great, lots of chairs and shade. The beach is nice although not great for a lot of swimming. The musicians were very talented and we really enjoyed them all. Occidental at Xcaret Destination: July 2025

So our overall experience is say was a 2/5. The resort was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful when asking for directions. The beach is man made which was lovely bc you could still see the ocean while swimming in the beach area as there is no access to the ocean as it’s rock faced. You got to swim with the fish in the beach as well which was super cool. The buffet was open for a period of time and it was utter chaos everyone treated it as if we were going through Covid and the toilet paper incident!! It was madness and utmost disgusting as I had a little one to feed… and the morning after the storm we were given food but it was refried beans, tortillas and watery eggs! It was nasty! The buffet was nothing special- kinda gross at times however the al la cart meals were excellent! I’d deff reccomend paying extra to eat there each time! Also don’t get scammed into the VIP tour they failed to mention was a speech about there clubs and to get you to buy room from them in order to get cheaper tickets to Xcaret… a waste of 2 hours of our day!!

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Very clean and quiet resort

A little outdated but clean, quiet and staffed with friendly, helpful people. It is also situated in a bay that is great for snorkeling off the beach. I would go back to this resort again when i get a chance.
