Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Great resort

Great customer service, The Knife and Brazillian restaurant were top notch. Seeing as how Appleton Rum is distilled in Jamaica I disagree with the upcharge per drink as it's not top shelf. Found this to be disappointing as it was unexpected.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Beautiful Grounds and Beach

The beach, pools and grounds were breathtaking! The room was clean, with a traditional tropical decor. I would say the room was more 3 star as it had some items needing repair. Bare minimum in towels and room cleaning was good but nothing extra provided, even the refill of the shampoos and soaps were not done. The food was not very good. Lots to choose from at the buffet but I had stomach cramps after eating there. The restaurant at the beach (Tequila) was much much better plus the view. [... read more] The service at the bars was quite frankly terrible. Warm drinks and grumpy bartenders. I speak Spanish AND we tipped them and that did not seem to change their moods. The service overall at this resort was not good, the people are not helpful but still expected tips. We had about 3-4 staff who were very friendly but the rest nope. We went for 4 days and that was perfect. We enjoyed the beach and an excursion and unlike many other vacations, I was not sad to leave. It was the perfect amount of time at this resort to enjoy the sun, beach and the country without getting too sick, annoyed or hungry. I would recommend it, if like us, you were focused on the beach part and the adventure. There is no luxury at all. A true 3 star should be the expectation.

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Nice but not 5 star !

The grounds are beautiful, the best feature of the resort. The beach is terrible, brown water, difficult to enter, jellyfish bites daily, and view from beach is a oil refinery, which at times smells! Dinner reservations are frustrating as only 5 restaurants available. although Bahia website said 6 restaurants but when you get there La Gourmet is not available to Bouganville guests. Reservations very difficult to get yet when you go restaurant it’s not even half occupied. Rooms are outdated and need renovation, the bed is rock hard ! Pool towels were worn out and looked like they were very old and had to use towel cards or be charged $10 per towel at end of stay, not 5 star! Buffet for breakfast was good, lunch buffet at beach was low quality food, main buffet would not let you in at lunch if in a bathing suit regardless of the cover up being worn. Only option then was pool buffet Bar drinks were limited for example no flavoured vodka or gin, drinks were not made the same twice and many times the server did not understand what was being ordered. Glasses at pool bar not being washed just dipped in dirty water and then reused, so glad we had our own drinking mugs! Service overall very unprofessional, unpredictable and not comparable to the Bahia’s in Mexico and Punta Cana. Lobby shows in evening were terrible, it was the staff dancing to the Bahia theme song over and over or silly games, no professional show in the 11 nights we were there. I feel bad for the staff having to do it over and over ! Stayed for 11 nights and was ready to come after at night number five! Very disappointed

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Nice resort

Nice hotel with well maintained gardens, lounge area and clean rooms. Restaurant was clean (with few holes in the walls which I think it would cost lots of time and $$ to fix). Plenty of food, drinks and coffee. The customer service by the reception was very helpful, especially Diana, who I hope will soon be promoted, as she is smart, nice, helpful and knowledgeable. The only weird thing we encounterrd was at the Rodizio restaurant...Oh, boy, they need to change something there soon.. I have seen and heard soo many complaints...It is supposed to be an "à la carte, resto...well it is not. That would be ok, but the way they manage to explain the serving and how they serve 1 plate to 3 people...it was hilarious and pathetic. Pools were great, beach as well...just lots of algae. Overall, nice resort for the money.

The grounds were well kept. The beaches were amazing. The food was really good. Even the buffet was pretty good. The entertainment was great. The rooms were very nice. The staff were superb. Specifically the ones running games in the pool

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Never going back to Bahia Principe Grand

If you're not a VIP your treated like a commoner. We had a watch stolen from our room and they acted like it was no big deal. Have emailed them twice regarding the case and still no responce. The food was horrible at the buffet, went to one a la cart took over two hours to receive our food. The only good thing was the beach and pool .

the first room they put us in was being renovated with dirty mattress (I have pics to prove it), the front desk never answered room service calls but they did call the last day before check put to seen if i needed anything. the carpets looks like they have never been cleaned. oh and to top ot off the air canada rep was so rude and not helpful at all.

We have been to Coba 3 times. This time we found it to be a little neglected and run down it seems to have lost its charm it needs TLC IT IS STILL A NICE PLACE BUT I THINK COVID HAS BEEN HARD ON THEM

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Very nice resort!!

We had a wonderful, relaxing vacation. The food was excellent, the room was comfortable. I would rate this resort 4 out of 5. The room services were lacking in that replacement of used products were not replaced and house keeping didn't show up every time.

Bahia Principe Explore La Romana: Good value resort

Very nice resort - good value for the money. Ocean was a little disappointing due to water clarity and debris but this is not something the resort can change. Staff were hard working and pleasant and the activities team were welcoming and fun. Food was good with lots of choices. Very clean - lots of hand sanitizer around if needed - did not really think about COVID all week!! Had a nice family vacation.

I an say that this resort is very nice, clean, the staff are amazing, very attentive to the guests. Food was great and the staff did a great job catering to some of the guests food needs ie: gluten free. Pools were great and clean as well. The steaks knives are only good for spreading peanut butter, someone pls get the steakhouse some new knives. Knowing that this was not beach front we thought we would try it anyway, not really our thing but that is no fault of the resort. Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Sunny and hot as promised, but 7 days is plenty.

The resort is large and expansive but I do think they try to make the different resorts within the larger Bahia Principe property different levels of quality and they also treat the guest differently which can be frustrating. The Coba is the least renovated property and likely the least expensive. The lobby attendants try to convince you to sit for a presentation "not timeshare" and then proceed to try to sell you 30-40 weeks in the slightly more upscale resort "Tulum" I believe. Nothing seems t [... read more]o change in the 25-plus years I have been going to Mexico, but it is what it is. For the rooms: the rooms are clean, but showing their age as we had two rooms and one the A/C didn't work, and the other had a leak over the bathroom from either the AC unit or the bathroom above. The phone didn't work properly but they changed it out. The cable was cutting in and out but it worked for the most part. As for the food and restaurants, they are all ok. They give you three reservations and if you get the App beforehand, you should be able to book it. We tried the Japanese, Asian Fusion, and Le Gourmet and it was a nice change from the buffet. The buffet had a lot of selection, but the resort is large so it was quite busy at all times and there were some concerns about the cleanliness of the utensils and the cooks. Covid is definitely over in Mexico, so if you are a germophobe, you may want to book a less busy place. The entertainment is good, magic show, Beatles-themed show, but you have to be savvy and book ahead of time for the shows. Most of the staff try really hard. I am more concerned with Air Canada vacations, than the hotel as the communication for transfers to the Hotel and back from the Airport was poor and you really have to ask the "tour operator" for assistance to ensure you get a shuttle back to airport. Even when you get to Cancun, they allow time-share type salespeople to speak to you in the Airport pretending to be airport transfer information. The gov't should do something about this as it is frustrating after a long flight and you want to get to your hotel which is a 2-hour transport if you don't book privately. I am good for a Mexican holiday for another 4-5 years.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Mixed experience

This resort is one of 5 clustered together with a total of 6000 guests! We didn’t know that going in, so pools and the beach were extremely crowded. Some staff were nice, others not so, and many spoke little or no English. Buffet food was good, à la carte restaurants were mixed. Most food was heavily salted. Avoid the so called Brazilian! Grounds are beautiful and lush, but off resort poverty and garbage everywhere are common. Tipping is expected. We would NOT return.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Amazing Resort.

The room was a junior suite and was quite nice. There are like 4 other resorts in the same area that you can visit if you want they do have mini golf carts to drive people around to and from of the hotels and the ocean. My favourite part was the food and the pool. I would go again to this resort. My stay was seamless.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Very nice resort

The rooms were rather basic for a five star hotel. The buffet and restaurants were very good. There were lots of pallapas for shade, and waiters always on hand to deliver drinks on the beach and around the pool. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. Entertainment in the evenings was very enjoyable.

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Not as good as it could be.

Resort grounds and rooms were as advertised. Worthy of 4-5 star. The staff was another story. Of course there are always great hard working people but I would say that this was not the majority. Major issue was the none stop offering to buy drugs of all kinds. I was even offered to buy drugs during a diner service. This was all done by staff member. For an all inclusive I have never been told so much that there was an extra charge of items.

I have been to grand Bahia principe ,thought I would chose esmeralda, not at all what was expected, buffet needs work,second buffet jazmin not open ,disappointed with Brazilian al a carte, Has to ask for clean towels daily,not impressed.group of 5 with 2 teenagers, given alcohol before checking wrist band..trouble...put next to kids water park ,not impressed

Food , Service, Staff, Facilities all were exceptional .... zero complaints from a wonderful relaxing resort. Not a place for a young party crowd as this place is low key. Trolley ride to beach and situated back in the jungle with smaller relaxing pools, perfect for older generations

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Not a 5 star

First the positive.. the beach and property grounds are beautiful. The hotel needs a lot of repairs. We found the staff to be very rude. Something we have never encountered in any resort. Our room had constant problems . We finally gave up reporting everything. We traveled during the rainy season and we had a few strong rains. The buffet had leaks in the roof. all thru the room and people were sliding and it was treacherous. They had to keep mopping up and putting buckets everywhere.
