Plaza Pelicanos Grand: Great Resort

We stayed at the Plaza Pelicanos Grand for 7 nights, Sept 16-23-18. The resort is centrally located with easy access to downtown and with conveniences within walking distance. The resort is very clean, with many amenities such as swim up bar, al a carte dining, roof top bar, hot tubs, and a beach front location. The buffet offers a wide variety of dishes with emphasis on excellent Mexican dishes, fresh fruit and desserts. The made to order wood fired pizza is awesome. Top shelf liqu [... read more]or including Absolute Vodka and Canadian Club are available at the pool bar. The room was always cleaned daily, with abundant hot water and excellent a/c. The staff are exceptional, friendly, professional and always eager to please. The location is central to everything and within walking distance or the local bus goes right by for only 7.50 pesos. Mega and Soriana are only a few blocks away for your shopping convenience. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Hilton Vallarta Riviera Resort: A good week at Grand Fiesta Americana

Everything about this hotel was very good except for the following 2 things: 1. the min bar service was good for everything but beer. we got 3 beer on day 1, 2 beer on day 2 and 3 then no beer for the rest of the week. Its an all inclusive so not a huge deal. 2. The coffee shop in the lobby was part of the all inclusive last year but it is now a Starbucks and you have to pay. Just annoying. Other than those items it was a great week and I would go again.

Hilton Vallarta Riviera Resort: Great Resort

Great Resort and had a fantastic time. The service, food and rooms were very good. This is our second time at this resort, spaced about a year apart. My only complaint is that last year they had a coffee bar that was part of the all inclusive. This year, the web site indicated they had a coffee bar as part of the all inclusive but when we got there, the coffee bar was now a starbucks and you had to pay starbuck's prices for coffee. Grand Palladium Vallarta: Amazing resort and great customer service

My bf and I hsve been to this resort twice. First time was April 2018 and more recently September 2018. The first time we came we loved that the resort was not as huge as some of the others see have visited. If you are a surfer this is the place for you as the beach has amazing waves and surf boards to use. Better than surfing in Sayulita. He went over and beyond to get us the best room possible at the price we could afford. Bety the Barista at the coffee bar near the gift shop makes the most delicious iced Frappacunos. Eder the sport staff in the surf area will teach you how to surf or boogie board or paddle board and Jesus is an amazing bellman and concierge. As you can tell we loved this resort because of the staff who work here and have made sure Jose the general manager is aware. If you are looking for a beach getaway that is not overly crowded with western vacationers this is the resort for you. The Rooms are great and service is amazing. If you gave isdues they will be resolved right away. Love the jacuzzi tubs. We will be back a third time most definitely,

Grand Palladium Vallarta: Hit and miss

Grounds pools , waterfront and rooms were very nice. Personal service was hit and miss with times when you had to look for employees for the simplest things like a drink. Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Amazing resort

The people that worked there are always happy and are really good at what they do. The food was excellent and the weather was great! The only thing I would make better is that the maids would come to our room before 4 or something so we have time to get ready for supper

Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Iberostar Playa Mita (Riviera Nayarit)

Stayed at the Iberostar in Sept.2018. Grounds: excellent Service: excellent Food: buffet was great A la carte restaurants: Japanese was so so, French was great, Mexican was so so, did not try the steakhouse. Room: clean, spacious, good storage, good view of the ocean in the prestige section.

Riu Vallarta: Aug 27 to Sept 3rd Riu Vallarta 2018

Wonderful time here, great music, entertainment, food, specialty restaurants, all the workers and especially the entertainment team and wonderful bartenders. We asked to change our room from the 7th floor to 1st , with in 3 hrs we were changed, very good at the front desk listen to you when you need something. Would go back again , it was our 4th time there, K&Brizz

Fiesta Americana Riviera Nayarit: Fantastic beach

Dreams is a beautiful property situated on one of the nicest beaches on Banderasa Bay and Julio, our beach waiter, is one of the best waiters ever. Check in was smooth, but there were a couple of anomalies with our stay. We were in the Ocean View tower, but only one elevator was working, which meant long waits, luckily we were on the 3rd floor so we could use the stairs. We had really good food for the most part, but one day the Barefoot Grill and Oceana were both closed at lunch (somethng wron [... read more]g in the kitchen) so we went to the buffet. But the buffet was almost completely lacking in food - no taco station, no fresh veggies for the pasta station, no bread, no cold cuts - basically you could have a lettuce salad and pasta with plain sauce. Luckily the issue in the kitchen was resolved and we were able to get a hamburger form the Barefoot Grill. But, overall our vacation was fabulous and the food at Portofino was divine. Our room was good, but I think its time they got rid of the jacuzzi tub on the deck and the giant bathtub in the room. Air conditioning worked great - which is always a plus. The staff we dealt with were all very helpful. All of the beach waiters were really good, never had to wait very long for a drink but our checkout was a bit of a trainwreck - only one clerk to check out way too many guests. But yes I would go back - mainly because the beach is so beautiful - soft golden sand, no rocks, gentle slope into the water so the waves weren't too powerful. Spent all our time on the beach and could always get a lounge chair under a palapa - rest, relax, read - take a dip in the ocean then into the pool to wash off the salt and back to the lounger. Doesn't get much better than that.

Beyond expectations and more The resort grounds were in immaculate condition. The rooms were clean and furnished with modern furnishings. All staff at the resort were extremely friendly and helpful. Food and alcoholic beverages lived up to high expectations

Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta: Beautiful resort on private beach.

Location, outside town is perfect for relaxing away from the hustle & bustle of tourists, but still close enough for easy access to down town by taxi. The trip takes only a few minutes and experiencing the local history and culture well worth the time. Taxi drivers are very friendly and helpful. We took the evening sunset cruise from the Marina, loved the sail and views if the coastline, especially the mountains, then watched the sun set on the water-just lovely! The resort is beautiful and we [... read more]ll maintained, five restaurants to choose from with good food choices, two right on the water. All rooms face the ocean and offer beautiful sunset views. We loved being in the warm ocean and strolling the beautiful white sandy the beach. Wonderful attentive staff attend to all your needs. The adult only infinity pool was our choice for relaxing, but the two other pools were always lively for the fun loving active holidaymakers! We were treated twice to turtles laying their eggs on the beach. Overall a great vacation spot with lots of options to suit different personalities.

Secrets Vallarta Bay: Spectacular resort

Totally amazing resort already wanting to return. Felt totally spoiled. Staff, location, services superb. Entertainment staff were wonderful very professional especially Alexandra who amazed us with her energy and bright smile. All Restuarants were phenomenal loved the Italian, French and great show at Japanese. Wonderful gym, morning yoga class, water aerobics,pools for lounging and pool for the early morning lap swim. The list goes on, make Secrets Puerto Vallarta your next dream vacation. O [... read more]nly slight disappointment was the beach was not a long walking beach and the water was quite rocky when entering the ocean. Would recommend taking water shoes.

Dreams Vallarta Bay Resort and Spa: Good resort

Good Points • Service was quite good. Anything I asked for, I received with a smile. • Food was good. Every meal I had was delicious. Buffet for breakfast and lunch was good (less food available at dinner...maybe they are expecting you to be at a restaurant?). • Pools were clean; grounds were kept immaculate. • House keeping was very good (although it was done much later in the day than I have ever had at other resorts) with turndown service. • Room was comfortable, large enough,  [... read more]and great bathroom and AC. • Everyone (including cab drivers) had amazing English. Language was literally never a barrier. • I felt safe both on and off the resort (but note I was not wandering the streets after dark). • Entertainment staff (in particular Noe) is great, they are friendly and fun. • The Mexican fiesta was lovely. So many thoughtful touches, from the décor to the food to the entertainment. I really enjoyed myself there. • I liked there was no bracelets or towel cards. Just grab a towel whenever you want, so much better. • Beautiful view of the ocean from nearly every room. • Hotel is close to the marina, airport, town. It is nice to not travel on a bus for an hour after a long flight. • Beautiful sunsets! Less Good Points • Seriously loud bands in the evening. I wore earplugs and slept with a iphone white noise app to try to drown out the loud music. I am not sure any room would have been different. The layout of the hotel means you (and your children) will be awake until fairly late (midnight or later). • The shows at night need some venue improvement. If it was raining it was held in the basement of Secrets (that was fine actually since it was air conditioned). The venue at Now was not covered so rain (which happened half of the evenings in the summer) was a problem. When it was not raining it was so bloody hot, please get some fans. No breeze at all and it was too hot to properly enjoy the entertainment. • I wish we were able to go to the Italian restaurant (we have kids so not allowed). My kids are well behaved and eat the same foods as us so I am not entirely sure why they aren’t allowed. • The only place to go in the evening is the lobby bar. I really think this resort needs at least one other place for people to hang out, preferably a place with AC. • The kids club….while I heard other families enjoying the kids club, mine didn’t seem to. First off, it is a bit weird that you can’t see what they are up to in that space. And the bungee trampoline for example, why not have it out in the open (say by the pools) so that it can be used (with staff assistance) for more than 1 hour a day? Also, the whole thing is quite scheduled so I think it’s a bit rigid in terms of what activity is done when. • When we got off the plane in Puerto Vallarta, the sharks pounced on us to sell us time shares and inviting us to look at some Cirque de Solei property. They posed as if they worked for Air Canada so beware of that. Don’t hand your hotel voucher to anyone. Also, I am used to riding in a coach bus to the resort. We were shoved in a taxi (and we crossed our fingers we were actually headed the resort). • The beach isn’t great. The water is full of jelly fish, the bottom is full of painful rocks, and there is no bar down there. • The pool (in particular the one with the water slide) has a rough concrete bottom. Every kid’s feet were shredded until they were bleeding from the rough surface. We tended to go to the other pools for that simple reason. • The elevators. OMG so hot in there. Please install a fan, somebody will faint in there!

Grand Sirenis Matlali Hills: Nice resort

The rooms were new and spacious in building 5, at the highest point on the hill of the resort property. The adult pool near building 5 / 6 was quiet, service was not consistent with some staff coming around often, others not at all for drink orders. The reservation restaurants were good, but the buffet was small and disappointing food. No variation buffet food offered for breakfast. The layout of the resort was as advertised, very hilly but lots of greenery to look at. The shuttle bus was a  [... read more]great help to get around to the resort, restaurants were at the bottom of the resort. The beach club was good, food was good, service was good, but the beach was quite rocky. There were attempts to sell the "membership" to the resort, the members had a separate section at the main pool, reserved cabana at the adult pool, reserved tables at the small buffet as well as access to the larger multi-bedroom villa rooms. In all , a satisfactory trip but would not return.

Riu Palace Pacifico: Great hotel

The hotel is clean, beautiful. with a relaxing environment. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. The foods are very good. We enjoyed the food and service in Krystal 's during our stay. It was excellent!

Grand Sirenis Matlali Hills: Pros and cons

Matteo Quintieri Resort review - Grand Sirenis Matlali Hills July 22-29th I have a few things to address about my Vacation at Grand Sirenis Matlali Hills. I will start with pro and cons. (Pros)- 1 This resort was beautiful. We loved the area and every aspect of the resort. The lay out is great. The pools are amazing. The rooms are gorgeous. Nothing bad to say about the actual resort. 2. Breakfast was amazing (Cons) - Unfortunately there are many cons. 1 ) The buffet is [... read more] terrible. Not very much Options to choose from. Always the same stuff. The buffet closes at 10:30. We went to dinner at 9:00 one evening and by 9:30 they were taking all the food off the buffet. 2 Good Luck getting a reservation for the restaurants they always say they are fully booked. Even 2 days in advance. I randomly walked into one at dinner time and sat down. Only to see at least 10 tables empty. Was not very happy. 3 The concierge staff do not stop bothering you about time share meeting. Which if you go they will give you a free massage. What really bothered me is that I told them about me not being able to have a proper dinner at the restaurants because there is never any availability. Then they said if I go on the day tour to another resort they will be able to get there $100 bonus and they will make my reservation happen. I was floored. I can’t believe that I pay just like everyone else but if I do a time share meeting they will get me in for a dinner reservation. Couldn’t believe what I was hearing. 4 This is the best part. I booked Adults Only section but to wake up in the middle of the night to a crying baby in the room next door to me. I woke up and went straight to concierge and told them what had happened. The only thing for him to tell me was that this was impossible. Lol I asked to be moved but they told me the resort was fully booked. This is the end of July and the resort was empty. They said I can upgrade my room for another $200 US per day. Then one guy behind the desk winks at me and says Amigo I can get you the room for $80 US per day. Again I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. At the end of the day I just wanted a relaxing vacation but this really turned into a long stressed out week for me and my Fiancée. I will never go back to this place again. Beautiful place yes but not worth dealing with all these issues on vacation. The client care was terrible and they don’t care about any issue that had occurred. I have to say I work very hard to save money to go on vacation and I am very disappointed in this situation. I want to say I love trip central and the amazing assistance of Graham O’Neil. He did everything he could to make my booking very easy. Excellent client care on his behalf and I will book again with him. Great work

Riu Flamingos: Good resort hotel , good beach , restaurants service good

In July , the hotel had many Mexicans families vacationing 4 to 7 days with their family. Beach is clean and good for enjoying the warm water. Service at restaurants good. Some front desk staff is not responsive on arrival: Upon finding out that the room was to the very far end on the 6th floor , we have asked to transfer to a room closer to the elevator , because walking six floors up and down multiple time will be tiring after one week , one young front desk fellow ( Josie) keeps telling  [... read more]excuses that the systems is not working , and telling us that will have to come back next day or next two days to change rooms..SunWing rep was Alex was very helpful later afternoon for request to change to a room closer to elevator..from the third day ..but by then it took too much time to repack all personal items..so we stay as is ...but it is too much tiring up an down the stairs on foot .. on another occasion, loss the room access card , and ask for a replacement room access card , again the same young front desk fellow keeps finding excuses that the systems is not working forcing us to go scurring the restaurants for the misplaced card in the full hot sun heat ..and was told that may have to pay for a replacement card ( which has no room no , takes a few minutes to enable digitally ) , ..upon hearing that will complain on tripadvisor and to the general manager about this outrageous card replacement cost , that if there is an intention to charge customer it should be spelled out , like beach towel, the manager Alfonso come out and gave a replacement card, so we can get in our room..later evening found the old card and brought back the card ...and specifically told the manager Alfonso that front desk staff should not tell untruth stories that system is not working, when customer can see that it is , straight face to customer because it outrages people . Yet the front is what create first and lasting impression to people. Aside from this item, everything else are good , buffer & restaurants' waiter and host are attentive and excellent. General bar service also good and gave sufficient attention to non locals. Overall was pleased with the trip. Access to the next door Riu Vallarta was also appreciated and provide value.

Dreams Vallarta Bay Resort and Spa: An excellent family resort

The Now Amber is a great place for a family vacation. All staff where very friendly and accommodating. Lounge chairs at the pool areas and beach were available later in the morning. Buffet was well stocked with a variety of international foods. Wait staff at the specialty restaurants were very pleasant and well spoken. The activity and/or entertainment crew kept everyone busy with sporting and game events.

Las Palmas by the Sea: Phone was stolen 😠

Guadalupe was amazing! Hardest worker at the resort. Not really family recommended for we had late teen or early twenty year olds banging at our door at 3 am. I guess they put us in the party floor. Sorta scared the kids for this was first time travelling without their dad. Kids partied on beach every night till 6am. Just wish I knew it wasn’t as family oriented as we thought. First day we had our room cleaned my 12 year old phone went missing after they cleaned rooms. Was an iPhone 8 so not c [... read more]heap. Went to go inquire and was told that they seen my son using it in the morning. Which is a lie for we left at 8:00 am for an excursion and I take the kids phones for they are not allowed on them except after dinner. Just funny how one was left (iPhone 6 ) and one was taken. Then when I inquired every few days at front desk they were annoyed that I kept asking and said it’s gone so no use keep coming and asking. They were not as friendly staff as what I woulda liked. Same food day after day with maybe adding fish every few days so that got boring fast.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Good resort. The value was just ok.

This Hotel is good except the buffets are limited in variety. Unlimited ala carte's help but you have to work for them. Room was very good and clean. Maid service was a little inconsistent but manageable.
