Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Girls Trip 2025!

Our annual girls trip spent at the Luxury Ambar! Check in was easy. Our rooms were ready, which was welcomed especially after a long travel day. The reservation desk was very accommodating, given there were four of us travelling, we requested the same building and rooms close to each other, which they were happy to assist with, other resorts that we've stayed at not so much! Daily activities by the pool were great. Our server Desiree was amazing always checking in to make sure we were well taken care of and hydrated. Yes we even had water once in a while.? The dinner reservations were a bit of challenge, Diana at the front desk was extremely helpful and made our reservations for us. The restaurants were good, the only criticism I would have is the food was lukewarm and not as hot as we would have liked. The buffets were great always more than enough for breakfast and lunch and ample food options. Raphe was our server at lunch everyday, he is amazing! Always greeted us with smile and made us feel so special, he was just as sad as we were on our last day. The entertainment in the lobby bar in the evenings was wonderful, from singers to karaoke we enjoyed them all. There were themed parties by the pool that catered to the younger crowd, so there is something for everyone! Thank you DR we had an amazing time!

Riu Palace Macao: Paradise

Louise Endean was instrumental in suggesting our day trip with the squirrel monkeys which we thoroughly enjoyed! The hotel was always clean, the food was exceptional and the beach was free of seaweed and beautiful blue!

Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Not Really 4+ Star Hotel

One should be aware that Viva Heavens by Wyndham may not fully meet the expectations of a 4+ star hotel. While it is marketed as such, the reality is a bit different. The rooms feel dated, and the entertainment is quite limited. The food is acceptable but unremarkable, and the advertised "huge swimming pool" is, in reality, rather small. Additionally, it’s about an 8-minute walk to the beach, which may be a consideration for some. On weekends, the hotel becomes quite overcrowded with local gues [... read more]ts, which can diminish the cozy, local atmosphere it offers during the quieter weekdays. It’s not exactly the "quiet retreat" some might expect, as there’s a loud disco every night. However, the staff is exceptionally friendly, creating a welcoming and safe environment. While the hotel’s beachfront area is small, the beach itself is beautiful, allowing for long, scenic walks along the coast.

Riu Palace Punta Cana: Fantastic Resort

Everything about this report was absolutely fantastic and the staff was incredible. No complaints at all. Only iffy thing was room service food but you can definitely go to the buffet and sports bar for any snacks.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Great Experience!

Great resort with great people! Good food, generous portions, clean rooms and facilities. Staff are very kind and want to ensure you have a great experience in the resort. Somewhat of a language barrier with the staff at times, but nothing that can’t be managed with some basic knowledge of Spanish words and saying, which is easy to come by at a resort this size.

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Great Staff, great food & fun!

The BlueBay Villas Dorada is smaller resort with a great set-up. It is easy to find your way around. The food is great with so many options and varieties each day. The staff is friendly and fun. The Entertainment crew were the highlight of our two week stay, getting to see them for games on the beach in the morning and games at the pool each afternoon. Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Fantastic resort and complex!

We had a fantastic trip! Highlights include: - stayed in renovated rooms closer to the beach - thoroughly enjoyed breakfasts at the restaurant by the beach - beautiful beach, water and fun water sports - very clean grounds as staff worked all day cleaning - very fun animation activities if you are interested - played pickleball every morning! - enjoyed lots of walking around the beautiful enormous complex - friendly staff throughout Suggestion for future guests: bring and wear bug spra [... read more]y at night if you are prone to bug bites This is our second time at the Bahia in Punta Cana and we will definitely be returning!

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Lovely setting

The grounds were amazing! People were always taking care of it. The room/accommodations were comfortable, though I thought a "Junior Suite" would be a bit larger. It was basically a "room". Because of mobility issues, we requested a ground level room, which we had. The beds were comfortable, but the mattresses needed to be turned/flipped. You could tell that guests sat on one edge of each bed as they sagged on that side. The bathroom was dangerous. Really, room for only one person at a time a [... read more]s the open door hit the toilet. The tub was a shocker! It was difficult to step into and it was very narrow, making it too difficult to get down into and then up out of. I tried it only once. After our first slippery use we realized that we had to wear our crocs in order to get in and out for the shower. The fridge was refreshed with water and pop daily. The A.C. barely worked in room 709. Thank heavens for the fan. The food was plentiful, but by day 5 I was starting to feel it to be a bit repetitious. Lots to eat though. The staff were friendly and always desiring to be of assistance. It was a LONG DRIVE to/from the airport.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Excellent

This was our 4th time here. Expected things to be run down a bit over the years, but not disappointed at all. Food was great, grounds were immaculate, and the room was recently renovated. The staff were very friendly. Highly recommended.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Amazing pool and location

Second time to this hotel. April 2025 - Beach in puerto plata was wavy (yellow flag) or closed due to a storm. No green flag In 2 weeks due to storm passing by? Amazing pool. First time To this resort. Nov 2023 no bacon in two Weeks. April 2025 Bacon every second day. Amazing rolls and breads. Air conditioner worked great! Excellent price for a vacation!!

Been to the luxury Ambar 2x now have to say both times was very pleased, went last year around the same time, weather was great some days a little rain but lots of sun and humid! We have done the swim out rooms both times and enjoy it very much. Fun to have a night at your room and order the room service for dinner!! Staff are great, remembered us from last year, service was good, food and drinks were great! They did a cool beach party during the day with food which was a new thing they were [... read more] trying out and I believe it was a success - hoping if I go back they would do it again!! Entertainment is always good, doesn’t matter if you don’t like what Ambar has to offer there are plenty of options all around and they are very easy to get to. For nightlife we went to sports bar because it was nhl and nba playoffs so every night was a great vibes!! Get the mozzarella sticks Casino is fun and disco is good but opens at 11pm!! Would say it is a great resort for couples or groups of friends!

JOIA Bavaro by Iberostar: Relaxing Week

This was our third time at this resort. It has a vey "chill" vibe to it. The beach is amazing. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The resort is very clean. It never seemed busy, even though I was told the resort was at 90% occupancy. I strongly recommend this resort and will definitely return again.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: VH Gran Ventana Far exceeded our expectations!

We were part of a group of 12 (ages 13-74) and we all agreed that this was one of our favourite resorts of all time. The proximity to the airport was just the beginning, we were on our way to our rooms within a reasonable time upon arriving to the resort. Our rooms were clean, beds were comfy, lots of blankets and pillows, the quality of the beds was comparable to hotels in Canada. Beds were made daily and towels were replaced every morning by friendly housekeepers. The food choices were plentif [... read more]ul and there was always lots of food to eat no matter what time you arrived at the buffet. Even the pickiest eaters can find lots to choose from. Pasta and salad bars, fruit and cheese as well as a grill station with several options including a different theme each night- American, Chinese, Italian etc... The centrally located pools (1 large pool divided into 3 separate sections) and pool bar provided loungers, tables and umbrellas for the guests with music, volleyball, floaties and interactive games throughout the day. Sign up as soon as you arrive for a la carte dinners or you could miss out- they fill up quickly- we often chose the buffet because there were more choices for everyone! The beach is beautiful, lots of loungers, a beach bar and lunch restaurant with pizza, nachos, wings and more! We highly recommend this resort and would not hesitate to return! NO complaints at all!

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Lots of fun!

The resort has alot more than what is said online, they have foam parties, silent disco nights and fun things to do during the day while being around the pool. A lot of fun for younger adults! The food was pretty good and many different options to pick from for dinner, either buffet or making a reso at one of the restaurants. Many different pools, and easy and fast walk to the beach.

Occidental Caribe: Icky showers

Rooms were only fine at best. Shower was very subpar. Leaked water everywhere and staff never left enough towels. Employees would enter room without knocking first and couldn’t or wouldn’t speak any English.

ONeil did a great job helping us book our trip. We upgraded to premium level which is where the resort fell short. The rooms were ok at best. The shower wasn’t pleasant or what I would call premium level. Very dated and in much need of proper repairs.

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Great stay

Hotel is nothing short of excellent. Highly recommend it. We went last November. Came with our family this time. Going again in late November to watch Christmas lites liight up. Again great stay

Serenade All Suites Adults Only Resort: Awesome resort

Great resort, with friendly staff. We really enjoyed the great a la carte restaurants. The beach and pools were really nice. The rooms were clean with a comfy bed! Would highly recommend this resort.
