Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Beautiful akumal beach

Stayed at Akumal bay beach Wellness and Spa for 1week. The beach is amazing. No need to go out of the resort to snorkel . The staffs are amazing. Special mention to Luis, Carlos, Adriana, Wilbur. We were there when hurricane Beryl hit the yuxatan peninsula . The staff worked tirelessly preparing for the hurricane and as well as after the it passed. I will definitely going back to this resort

Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen: My agent

Whyndham altra was a huge disappointment and sunwing selling and advertising queen beds yet the hotel does not have one room with queen beds My agent at trip central is awsome and he's trying to help get our money returned Been one headache after another

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Beautiful resort!

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences in Playa del Carmen is a truly beautiful resort. We spend our family vacation almost every week there. We love the jungle area and the beach as well. They have also recently started taking care of the cenote near the restaurant area and it is really beautiful. The rooms are spacious and have a kitchen area as well. We also enjoyed the spa with a 30 min hydrotherapy cycle including sauna, jacuzzi, cold water plunge, body scrub. This was very relaxing to finish [... read more] every day. There are also many activities every day such as yoga and pilates and beginners tennis lessons in the morning, as well as aquagym and beach volleyball in the afternoon, and a variety of evening shows. The restaurants serve delicious foods and accommodate for dietary restrictions. We have recently become vegan so we cannot have everything on the menu, but we were able to ask to remove what we couldn't have from menu items. Restaurant menus also have vegetarian and vegan symbols to identify which items are vegetarian or vegan. Our ambassador (butler) was very helpful to make restaurant, spa and bali bed reservations. It is also important to note that the beach is very nice although there is some seaweed which affects this area of mexico, but it is cleaned up every morning by workers. We really like the size of the resort for walking and running as well as the monkeys and coati (racoons) you can see sometimes going through the jungle boardwalk. We had mostly sunny days and a day or two of rain so it was an amazing vacation and everyone was super friendly and helpful.

Catalonia Riviera Maya: Amazing stay

Everything was awesome. Couple of suggestions. Add some more traditional food items in buffet . Some Indian, Chinese and Middle Eastern dishes . Need to work more on dampness in the rooms . Oh also juices especially orange juice should be freshly squeezed. ( if possible) . And also it’s a bit expensive when purchasing something. Us $ is not cheep when we convert Canadian $ in us . Prices were very high .

Dreams Jade Resort and Spa: Best Vacation Ever!

The staff at this hotel was very welcoming. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with “Welcome Home” and a warm smile. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and clean. The menus at the various restaurants on site were impressive and delicious. The beach and pools were amazing. We would definitely revisit this location.

Catalonia Riviera Maya: Could've been better

My family and I stayed at the resort from June 26th to July 3rd for a week. The resort itself is aesthetically pleasing, and the dining options, including buffets, a la carte restaurants, and snack bar, were quite enjoyable. Given that we were traveling with our 5-month-old, proximity to my mother was important for us. Although the front desk assured us they would relocate us by the second day, we were never contacted. Furthermore, upon check-in, we discovered that the air conditioning in our room was malfunctioning. Despite notifying the staff immediately, and multiple attempts by technicians to fix it, the issue persisted, leading to an uncomfortable first night for us and our infant. After enduring three days in a sweltering room without resolution, we escalated our concerns to management. Subsequently, we were relocated, but this delay consumed a significant portion of our seven-day vacation. Additionally, we found the resort's booking system for a la carte dinners overly complex, as reservations could only be made on the day of dining, requiring us to wake up early each morning to secure a spot. Due to these specific issues, I am unlikely to choose this resort for future stays.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Review

There is no actual beach and the sea was full of seaweeds, I knew there are seaweeds, but did not expect that much. Pools were fine, but I prefer sea, pools I have in Canada. Not having a beach impacted my experience. I will say "Yes" to would you recommend this hotel to a friend, but will make sure they clearly understand NO BEACH. Ocean Riviera Paradise: Great resort

the hotel is good and the room sizes are good. The pools are amazing and the kids pool as well. Unable to access the beach as there is rocks. The food seems to be abit on the low side as missing flavor. but one thing is the pool bar, how they make the drinks is like watered down or something as you get the taste at all. and if you ask for a different drink with the bottles they have on the shelf they dont want to make it. and one thing did not like is, they have the pool restaurant by the kids [... read more] pool, and the kids are hungry and want to go eat they want you to change cloths and come in to the pool restaurant. that is something does not make sense. If you are a pool restaurant it is obvious that people are going to come out from the pool to grab something to eat. they are not going to go and change and come back. these things they will need to fix it up.

El Dorado Casitas Royale: Nice resort

The resort is absolutely beautiful and clean. Staff are very nice and helpful. The rooms are very clean and we enjoyed staying there. The food quality is good except the Italian restaurants. The only problem is that the buffet is only for breakfast and during the day for lunch and diner if you don’t like some of the restaurants you won’t have so many choices. Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Amazing resort

The rooms are clean and spacious and have a stocked bar fridge and the service for the rooms was incredible including turn down service. There are concierge in every building to assist. The covered area of lobby and restaurants was great for shade or inclement weather. The large pool and smaller quiet pool provide options and the beach area is large clean and comfortable lounge chairs and large huts to provide shade. Great staff who work hard to provide everything you need.

El Dorado Seaside Suites: A Little tired

We travel 2 times yearly and have been plenty of times to the Mexico Mayan area and have stayed at alot of 4 and 5 star properties. We selected this property as AC had it on for a steal. This property in its time was great I'm sure. I would rate it a solid 3.5 stars. Room - comfortable and clean - bed was very comfortable and air worked great. Swim Out Balcony - water was very cold and the swim out goes in front of all rooms on that floor. Great place to spend time when it rained . Got very l [... read more]oud at 1:30am when our neighbors are either side of our room decided to party outside on their and our balcony. Security called and dealt with it in about 45minutes. Food - very confusing / al a carts closed on a scheduled dark night. didn't have a problem booking 2 for the 7 day stay. - Italian is very good. the buffet at dinner is subpar, and had a lot of shell fish and fish dishes. not much assortment. The lunch buffet at the outdoor grill was excellent Beach - No beach at all on the Suites side and couldn't walk from Suites to the Palms by beach as the nudest resort separates them with fencing. This is not the place to go if you enjoy walking the beach. Pool - not a lot of sun except on top of the restaurant on the landing - I had to clean the debris every morning though, as the rain would not drain due to the debris on the landing. All in all - good but not great. alot better 4 stars out there in the area better than this apparent 4.5 to 5 star. They could do with a major update and keep the place a little cleaner.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Great Experience!

Bahia Principe Luxury Akumal is a great resort! Stay at one, play at four and having visited the other three, it was clear we made the right choice. Deluxe rooms are the most updated and closer to the Adult only pool and daytime restaurant. Staff were fantastic and met our needs. Food was excellent, with 17 a la cartes. We enjoyed the 6 we booked...we used the app and you must book them the day you arrive, once you get your room # as fill fast. Cons: There isn't much A/C other than your roo [... read more]m, which was perfectly set. Some restaurants are outside so no A/C obviously and sports bar at neither hotel has A/C, which proved uncomfortable in the evening, when so humid! Exit visa - did not ask us to pay anything. Advised by our Air Transat Rep that they are removing that in a few weeks to best not to pay....fortunately we didn't do before we left.

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Disappointed with Barcelo Management

We stayed at the Barcelo Beach Resort in Riviera Maya. Unfortunately we were placed in a room that had a broken air conditioner and when we brought this up with management they told us that it would be fixed. They said that the hotel is fully booked and they cant move us over to another room unless we are willing to upgrade to a premium suite. It is very dissapointing that Barcelo was not able to solve our AC issue for the entire stay and we had a temperature of 28 C in our room which was unb [... read more]earable. If it wasnt for the ceiling fan we wouldn't be able to sleep. Vey disappointed with the Barcelo staff and management who were unable to provide a solution and instead wanted to make us spend more money on a room upgrade.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Resort

Room was good, food was good, swimming pool was good. Beach was full of sea weeds and it smells very bad. Can’t swim at the beach at all. We can’t even walk along the beach front because of the smell. Very disappointed!!

Catalonia Royal Tulum: Beautiful and relaxing!

The resort grounds were beautiful. I loved the garden pathways. The beach was great and loved the proximity from the beach to pool area. We enjoyed a quick back and forth between the two! Nightly entertainment was good, the glow party was a lot of fun, the DJ played great music. Good selection of restaurants although I found it challenging that supper time meals needed reservations, so it made it hard to just be in the moment and go for dinner when you felt ready. Food at restaurants was good, aesthetically most restaurants were a bit bland looking though. I liked this resort wasn’t overcrowded and there was a good age range of guests. This isn’t a “party resort” which is what we were looking for. They did not have a lot of on resort activities, such as free waters sports, which is a little disappointing. we also weren’t made aware of all the different activities that were available during the day. When we arrived, it was quite late and it was a bit disappointing not to be greeted with a drink, or some type of itinerary of events to have a sense of what was happening or how to access them. Overall, the pros far outweighed the cons and it was a comfy and relaxing resort. We’d go again.

Viva Maya by Wyndham: Excellent Resort

It is not too big so the staff are very friendly and easily remember you and your wants re drinks, etc. Easy access to the beach with sufficient lounges for everyone. The pool area is always lively. The ala carte restaurants are very good, with the Mediterranean getting my highest recommendation. The buffet always has something to offer even the pickiest of eaters. The rooms are well maintained.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Room for improvement

Hotel looks exactly like pictures. Is it a 5 stars hotel? More like a 3 stars. When we first arrived (hour drive from the cancun airport) they welcomed us with champagne glasses. We then told them we asked for a bigger room via email before we arrived, on the email they told us we were in the new renovated villas. But at the desk, they told us it's not available and we have villa 53 (old). We said please we have a daughter that has a breathing condition and we'd like for things to be clean and s [... read more]pacious. Then they said for the renovated villas it will be a charge of US$1,300 EXTRA. which is weird because they just said the room was not available. Anyway, we did not upgrade. Our room was small, first floor, everyone was passing by our balcony, so no privacy. It was also dirty, the walls in the bathroom was not clean (there were drops of things all over) and we got but by fire ants in the room. They sent the exterminator 3 days later though. We got approached by the privileged club and they told us they will treat us better if we sign up with them and that's how they treat people that book through an agency. They obviously told that to the wrong person because I right away said if they think we will come back after this hahaha. Food was okay, got food poisoning from the buffet, but a la carte restaurants were nice most of them. I would give 5 stars for the entertainment ans the kids club 100% those people are amazing and they were the ones that made our trip bearable! Props to all the kids club employee for loving what they're doing and creating the best memories for our kids : Josseline, Eduardo, Ingrid, rebeca, abigail and cuauhtemoc were amaziiiiinnggg

Ocean Coral and Turquesa: Very nice resort!

Aside from some checking in line up everything else was amazing! The system is bit messed up, we got the bands right away but we had to line up for activating the room key. Instead of 3 pm we end up getting the room at 4.30pm.

Grand Sunset Princess: Amazing resort!!!

This was our first time at this wonderful Grand Sunset Princess hotel. I liked absolutely everything. We were met and quickly taken from the airport to the resort. Very clean and comfortable room. Wonderful and tasty restaurants, good beach. Very polite and caring staff. Everywhere is clean and beautiful. There are many places where you can just relax and spend time. Interesting entertainment, especially the fire show on Sundays. Deer, exotic animals, iguanas and monkeys walk around the t [... read more]erritory. We highly recommend this resort.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Amazing resort

I would definitely go back to this resort. The service was excellent from all staff members at the bahai principe luxury akumal. Food wow tones to choose from at the buffet. They need to put in some A/C in some of there restaurants,very warm well waiting for dinner. The rooms are very clean . The entertainment at night time was excellent. Mayan experience massage was excellent at the spa. There is always something to do at the resorts.
