Melia Costa Rey: A beautiful location

I can see why this resort would have been 5 star in the past, and with a bit of attention it should be again. I understand it was sold in the past few years and unfortunately has fallen into some disrepair. The staff is lovely and hard working, the pools and beach are amazing. There were no shortage of beach chairs or space to spread out a bit. The buffet was decent and varied. But the guest rooms need attention. I am a woman who traveled alone and my room had no lock on the patio door and th [... read more]e phone to contact the front desk didn't work. What would I do in an emergency? I reported it to the hotel right away and nothing was done by them. On day 3 a lovely maid tracked down a maintenance worker who put a lock on the door right away. I enquired about changing rooms but nothing available. There was an issue on the island with no water for 4 days but the resort handled it really well. Other than limited showers things carried on. I had the need for medical attention and a doctor was at my side in minutes and he was great. Hoping the new owners make upkeep a priority because this location a gem. Overall I had a good experience. I'm not one to stress about things I can't control.

Hotel Playa Coco: Love this resort

Visited from January 18 till February 2 every thing was good . Melia Jardines del Rey: Pleasant Stay

The room was nice. Always had water and hot water for showers. The towels were never changed out for the week we stayed. The lobby was nice and clean with friendly staff to accommodate you. The public bathrooms were kept clean but periodically ran out of toilet paper. Beautiful gardens were well kept. The pool did have some algae on sides. There were food shortages in Cuba and it shows but they did the best with what they had. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

Gran Muthu Imperial: Loved this resort Overall!

A beautifully maintained facility, resort beaches great with water shoes , Pilar Beach is a ten minute cab drive away for one of top 5 beaches in the world! Absolutely outstanding and class act staff , from management, wait staff, cleaners and groundskeepers.! Food for a Cuban resort was more than adequate, with some variety not hugely available, but PLENTY to eat all week, desserts at buffet to a minimum, which was perfect for me :) Shortages re toilet paper happened regularly in t [... read more]he public and lobby restrooms, so you learn to bring some with you wherever you go. No big deal, it was expected. Highlight of the week was seeing out busboy tear up when given a gift at the end of his week for his service. Some wait staff are now FBook friends, as they are just outstanding humans, we had so much fun joking and learning about their lives in Cuba.

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Fine, but we won’t be back

Another beautiful part of Cuba, but not at this hotel especially at the buffet. Food was fine, lines for grilled fish and meat, eggs during the breakfast. But cockroaches are everywhere, and if you see it in a bowl of tomatoes - it is too much.

Gran Muthu Imperial: Wonderful!

Wonderful adults only resort. Great food! (If you’re into spicy food you might wanna pack some hot sauce packets or favorite spices as they’re not always available) Clean modern resort with beautiful grounds. Great entertainment, wonderful lobby area for hanging out - delicious cappuccinos, Spanish coffees and espresso martinis. They do their very best with what they have and sometimes they would run out of ceasar mix or mint for mojitos… which was an opportunity to try something else in [... read more] my opinion. Only thing I didn’t like was that the pool area had loud music and activities playing most of the time during day making it very hard to chill and relax there - I had to avoid that area unfortunately . Great for partying though and the beach made for perfect escape from the noise. Also the disco is off resort and additional $$. Beach is a bit rocky so bring water shoes or find the one easy spot by the last umbrella to get into the ocean. The closest beach bathroom is quite a walk away so plan accordingly and it closes early which I found annoying. You would be wise to carry some tissues or tp in your pocket in case they are out of toilet paper -it happens sometimes in the common area washrooms …

Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Simple but lovely

Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: Beautiful resort

My husband and me took my niece here and we absolutely loved it! Very quiet, no excursions, but the staff were lovely and we enjoyed the food because our expectations were low. The fish, smoked salmon and omelettes were amazing.the resort is so new ( dec 2022) so the rooms are beautiful. I’d highly recommend.

Melia Costa Rey: Always Welcoming

The resort location has great ocean views and is on a beautiful walkable beach. Clean, basic decor, coffee maker may or may not work. Main lobby bar area is hub of activity any time of day and night. Entertainment staff are energetic, talented and friendly. All staff are pleasant and welcoming and will assist you as best they can...be kind and patient with them. Hotel Playa Paraiso: perfect beach, bad service

Stayed Jan 18-26. Positive: great beach and ability to walk both directions for few km. Negative: - very first impression is during check in: only 1 person available, and although full bus comes at same time for check in,- having laughs and personal conversation with other staff, totally disregarding long line of tourists and not even acknowledging the guests. -more staff should be present for check ins (taking their lunch around the tourists time) -Arrived to resort before 2 pm, not  [... read more]able to check in till 4 pm. really bad and inconvenient-all you want to do after flight is check in/change clothes and start your vacation -2 days the whole resort didnt have ANY water-meaning no wash up and /or bathrooms are available for use. Customer service is absent (away on lunch?) instead of addressing issues. No announcements are made for any update. Long line to reception to get ANY info about water. At best-keep lying "in 20 minutes" water will be available. (Please dont lie, just say you dont have any info and will keep everyone updated) -THE WORST part: long lines and wait for ANY meal of the day:breakfast, lunch and dinner. WE`ve been many times to Cuba and dont expect much, to be honest, but NEVER had to wait in line for 20-30 min to enter restaurant ! On top of it-half of the time the doors to restaurant open 10-20 min late ! Again- no customer service or management available. -Management just not present or visible. Only on one occasion saw the management when one of the guests escalated the issue and demanded to see manager (who looked like he was annoyed to be called and was totally unhelpful) -Stayed in building 10 (rm 10115). On the very first day reported broken phone and safe-both to reception AND customer service. And the stolen portable radio from our room (unfortunately , on the very first day). Nobody for the whole week addressed the issue OR tried to do/fix anything. -While cleaning staff and gardeners are working hard-at same time nobody picks up garbage scattered in the garden OR dirty dishes sitting in front of building with pieces of old food for several days! At the restaurant waiting staff will walk past dirty dishes on a table, not collecting it. Witnessed during every meal 4-5 different staff will walk past dirty plates and doesnt occur to them to collect it. Poor training. Conclusion: will definitely return to Cayo Coco for the beach, but never again to Playa Paraiso. _

Hotel Playa Coco: WE LOVE THIS RESORT!!!

Larry and I have been to Hotel Playa Coco 9 time and are palning our 10 trip for the end of March. People who complain, are people who think Cuba is like Canada, it's NOT!! The beach is the best we have ever been to. The staff at the resort are the best you will ever have anywere!! The staff go out of their way to please you. If the airline you fly with looses you luggage or your airline delays your flight, DON'T BLAME THE HOTEL or STAFF!!!!

All in all it was good 🙂 There were some issues, but that is expected when travelling to Cuba... Room not ready on time, toilet and plumbing issues, a few things that were broken and needing repair (e.g. soap dispensers, locks on bathroom doors, paper towel dispensers...) But the staff is lovely! They are helpful and courteous and friendly. Love she espressos and lattes. The food was fine for us. We felt that there was enough variety, especially in the early morning at the breakfast buffet. [... read more] The lines for the restaurant were long though, so I wonder if they could improve on setup or logistics in the restaurant? The pools are wonderful and very prettily situated right in the ocean. We spent the entire day either at the beach or the pool. Our room was adequate (a bit in need of freshening up). Our maid, Yamilla, was wonderful and helpful. We also really appreciated the service of Suleidy at the Front Desk who went out if her way to resolve some issues with our room and my friend's room. We felt that it was good value for the price and would likely go back. One thing I suggest: the beach is difficult to access for people with mobility issues..my friend traveling with us has a wheelchair/walker and could not make it...is it possible to extend the boardwalk so that it is easier access for people with mobility issues?

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Very clean resort

All areas were clean and very well maintained, always scrubbing the floors in common areas and walkways. Beach is about a five minute walk from the main buildings and pool areas. It is an absolutely amazing beach for walking. A few rocks in the shallow waters but you’re able to get around them easily and safely. The infinity pools are immaculately kept but there are no steps to enter or exit the pools only ladders. The buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinners had great choices, always found so [... read more]mething on my gluten-free diet although there is very much a language barrier with the staff so I don’t really know whether there were hidden glutens in my food. Always fresh though. The a la carte nights were a bit problematic as we needed to sign up with our rep early in morning, this wasn’t made clear to us and we missed out on at least one meal as they aren’t open each night and you couldn’t prebook even though the resort was only about an eighth full. I’m thinking it would be a great place in five years. The rooms did have a few problems, sent a technician to clear a noisy a/c unit and a main hall door that wouldn’t lock which took hours out of our day waiting on them. The rooms themselves were great, newly remodelled and clean.

Gran Muthu Imperial: Wonderful Vacation!

This hotel has the look and feel of a 5 star resort! This was our first trip in 3 years and went with trepidation. After filling out the QR code as early as we could and printing it off (even going back in to make a correction was easy), we breezed through the airport in Cuba as usual. Coming back there was a temperature check as you entered the airport, all done via infrared thermometer. We wore masks while on the airplane although not many other adults did. A trip to Cayo Media Luna from Pilar Beach with a snorkel over a sunken ship was just right. Spend your evenings lounging in the lobby with a Spanish coffee or a capacchino and chat with other guests or watch a show in the theatre. The food was great even by pre-covid standards compared to places we usually go. Great wifi everywhere as well. We will def be back!

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Nice beach

beautiful beach with calm ocean, very good for kids but not enough shaded places. Rooms are old and smelly with really bad beds and matelas. Evening entertainment is bad. Only saxaphon player is amazing

Iberostar Selection Esmeralda: Beautiful resort

Beautiful new clean resort, very warm friendly people, service was good, food was good and plenty, im not fussy about food, but very impressed, a breathtaking beach and ocean and unbelievable was great sandy, smooth beach. My best vacation ever and the best best beach. Looking forward to will be going back again next year.

Gran Muthu Imperial: Great Value / Quality ratio

Hotel is in excellent condition and clean. Good variety of food - temper this comment with it being Cuba... but we were pleasantly surprised. The infinity pool and view is second to none. Evenings wrap up early for some peace and quiet. Great couples / adult only resort. We wouldn't hesitate to book again - through TripCentral of course!

Beautiful resort. New and clean. Very updated and modern. Amazing staff, very friendly and helpful. Lady at the pool bar Dailiniet was so amazing. Always asking if we needed refreshments, very fast service always with a smile. Room was beautiful, some ants here and there but we were on the ground level so not much to complain about. Room was close to pool and lobby.

The food was okay one would never go hungry. The staff are pleasant and very grateful. Beautiful area nice and quiet if that's what you are looking for if not you go to the family side and enjoy the business of families. Beach is beautiful, newer development so not much shopping close by if that is what you are looking for. Rooms are clean beds are fairly comfortable. Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Terrible resort

This resort was the worst place I have been in all my travels. It is old an not renovated. We were 4 days with low water pressure to take our showers and did not have hot water. My TV was broken. I had to complain multiple times to finally get a room change. I do not recommend travelling to this hotel and any hotels in Cayo Coco.
