Riu Emerald Bay: Lovely resort

I didn't realize that it was a family resort but even though there was a lot of young children, it was actually nice to watch them have fun. Our accommodations were good, the food was good except for the Italian restaurant. Not enough true Italian food. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained. The drinks were okay except for the beer. My husband bought his own supply at the Kiosko across from the hotel. Overall we had a great week.

Riu Playa Blanca: awesome resort

we loved everything about this resort, will definately go again, we only wish we had booked for 2 weeks or more, the weather was!amazing, the staff at the resort were the best, always helpful, the food was so good, our room was beautiful, the bed was so comfortable and clean, we have stayed in Riu resorts in jamaica and mexico, this one in panama was the best .

Riu Emerald Bay: Nice Resort!

Accommodations was great, food was awesome. Flight was good. Transfers good. They do need more elevators. There was only one type of beer, red wine and white wine. Just so happens that is what we drink so would have liked a better selection.

Riu Caribe Cancun: Great resort

We stayed at the RIU Caribe for a week in March 2020. The staff here were incredible as well as the food - excellent in all restaurants and the buffet. The only downfall was the extremely hard beds. We usually stay in the Mayan riviera but wanted to try it right in Cancun for a change..... it was a great place but too much of a party vibe for us - which we were aware of but prefer the more laid back quiet of the Mayan.

Riu Republica: The Ultimate Adult Playground

First the restaurants were phenomenal. The Japanese and Indian were my favorite of the 5 on the resort. we hook hopped all day. The "pink party" was awsome. I could go on and on about the resort but I guarantee if you book here you will not be disappointed.

Riu Negril: Great potential, needs some maintenance and updates

The majority of the resort is good, same with the staff, but I have some mixed reviews. The resort needs to fix a few things, namely ice machines, open electric covers in a couple places and broken tiles. Our room itself was fine, although a little smaller than expected, however the bed was creaky and hard. The front reception staff were all very friendly and went out of their way to assist, with the exception of calling us at 9am the day after we arrived, waking us up to ask if everything was f [... read more]ine and then calling back a minute later to ask when we were departing AND then again immediately after then, only for them to realize they had already called us and to hang up. Restaurants: Green Island (main buffet), lots of selection, mostly good, but a little disorganized. They would have pastas, meats and vegetables in several different places throughout. Luigi (Italian) was good, but the first time we tried to get in, the line was initially fairly small only to realize that 2 pairs of people were actually parties of 12 and 8 and we didn't end up getting. We went back the following night and the food was good. Mandalay (Asian), while a smaller buffet style, had a nice selection of Chinese, Japan and other. Seagull (Steak and lunch buffet), the lunch buffet had a large selection of everything, the steak (evening) was good although don't expect a Keg experience. The Jerk Shack was opened between 12 and 3pm, the jerk chicken was tasty and moist, and the side dishes were good as well. Many people raved about the jerk chicken and ate it daily. Bars: Welcome bar: I only had 2 drinks there one evening, the staff were fine but not the cheeriest bunch. Sports Bar: staff were ok, but could have been a tad friendlier and the food is limited to popcorn, nachos and cheese, and frozen hot dogs and hamburgers. BOB beach bar: staff were MISERABLE and you couldn't get a smile out of them if you were holding a gun. This was mentioned by several people we spoke with. I'm a constant tipper, usually $1 USD or $100 J per drink, but at the end I barely tipped this group due to their bad attitudes. Rastaman Lounge Bar: this had the best bartenders in my opinion. Paul and another lady working (forgot her name) were absolutely great. They made my rum and coke press perfectly, same as my wife's Smirnoff Lime Daiquiri and after the first order knew what I wanted every time after that. The "pit boss" or whatever you want to call him (area supervisor or what have you, guy wearing the black uniform) always seemed grumpy towards the male customer, but was more than anxious to be friendly to the females. The entertainment crew put on some great shows and seemed to be more than happy to get people out of their seats and dancing. Over all, this was a decent resort, but there is definitely room for improvement.

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Really amazing resort

Hotel nicely appointed with comfortable furniture throughout all areas, fantastic large beach, fun infinity pool bar and adequate lounging/exercise main pool area. Super friendly helpful staff everywhere. Food and drinks are 4 star+ Entertainment could be stronger

Great location , beautiful beach .Staff is very friendly and helpful .The food is great with the various restaurants Joyces . Recommend this location to anybody for a relaxing week of R&R . For the first time in the Bahamas we were impressed with the clean surroundings in Nassau and in general a clean city .

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Great Value!

The resort offered great value for the price we paid. I believe all room have ocean view. Food was much better than I expected. We ate at an a-la-carte restaurant for the 4 evenings we were there. Breakfast and lunch buffet provide ample options. Drinks were good. Beach was excellent. Clean sand and crystal clear water. Beware, it does get windy on this island and 2 of the 4 days you were not able to go in the water. Your neighboring Atlantis if you would like to gamble or go for a star bucks  [... read more]coffee. Overall good resort.

Riu Palace Aruba: Disappointing

I traveled to the Riu in Aruba for the second time in less than 5 weeks. This time I traveled with a friend. I made it clear on booking that we would require two queen sized beds. What we got was a king and a child sized cot. I immediately went to front desk and was told that Sunwing was to blame for the error as there are no such rooms available in the class of room I booked. Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas: Amazing resort!

We stayed at the Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas for a week... nothing more to say except AMAZING! This hotel is gorgeous, amenities are more than enough, food is awesome, drinks are awesome, staff is awesome, service is awesome.. what more can I say! The town of Cabo San Lucas is one to definitely check out. I am so happy with my stay and would recommend this to anyone in a heart beat! Riu Reggae: Excellent Vacation

Had a great time at the Riu Reggae rooms were a good size and always kept clean, the food was amazing lots of selection and very flavourful, we ate at the a la cartes and quite enjoyed them, the steakhouse was our favourite. If you like slushie drinks there is a few good ones to choose from. The entertainment staff was very friendly and put on some good shows at night. I would recommend this resort to friends.

Riu Negril: Comfortable, easy, friendly

This hotel is older but very clean. Food was excellent. We preferred the buffet over alacarte restaurants. The beach is lovely but the water, not so much. We moved down the beach to another area to enjoy the water there. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Spa is expensive. We enjoyed the quaint resort.

Riu Republica: Amazing resort

One of the best resorts I have been to so amazing something to do at each place food was great only complaint was there was a couple rude front staff that were very rude when my friend accidentally left key in room. And your key card would deactivate alot..will be back to this amazing resort

Riu Playa Blanca: Good service - Excellent food

It is a relatively small resort in front of the beach 8 minutes from the airport. The beach is ok , not crowded, nice palm tree shaded areas but you get harassed sometimes from these horsemen who apparently can sell you anything from hats to cocaine (so you have to avoid them 100%) . The pools are nice for adults on one side and children with families on the other. They animation during the day and evening is good . The food is REALLY good for a resort. The people are courteous, the service (al [... read more]though low tone or low key) is good and efficient they actually do a good service with a smile even if you don't tip them!!! (I couldn't because I only had large CAN $ bills and there was no forex place to change your money in the hotel ) . Close to the airport but far from anything else.

Riu Playa Blanca: Good week-long stay

The hotel and grounds are nice. The beach is very pretty with the black sand and you could walk a long distance. They had vendors and people selling horse rides on the beach but they weren't pushy. Beautiful view and a nice breeze in the lobby bar. Rooms were fine, unremarkable, no coffee makers in the room and we found the beds a bit firm. The italian was nice, we didn't like the asian place. Don't miss Mexican night at the buffet! We did the Panama City and Canal tour, our guide was great and it was nice to see a bit of the country.

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Great Resort

This hotel is very welcoming, friendly staff all around the resort. Visited between March 1st-5th-2020 The Resort offers great views of the Ocean from any room with a pool view. We were located on the 3rd floor overlooking the pool and the Ocean. The elevator was directly across the hall from our room, surprisingly we didn't hear anybody while in our room waiting for the elevator. In fact we heard more noise coming from the balcony. We also had room service available 24/7, mostly sandwiches with potato chips(plain). Also, in our room we had a $25 US voucher for the casino at Atlantis among other coupons. (Although the catch was you had to spend $25 US to receive the voucher). The food was Delicious at the international Buffets numerous options available. The A La Carte's are based on a first come first serve basis (no reservations). Didn't bother with the Spa or Fitness centers. Beach is beautiful with a short walk to the Atlantis resort. Overall everything this Resort has to offer is less than a 5 minute walk, to our room, pool, buffets or A La Carte's, beach, bar, & disco, lobby. I spent more time at the coffee bar as they had a variety of desserts and sandwiches & coffee was delicious among my favorites in the Caribbean. We also booked a city tour through Sunwing. We had a blast visiting a variety of destinations ex: Fish markets/docks, straw market, rhum distillery, rhum cake factory and forts. We stopped for lunch at a local restaurant known as "Da Fish Fry" a highly recommend local dish in the Bahamas was the Conch Salad or Conch burger.

Riu Emerald Bay: Pretty good fr

The worst part of this resort is the elevator situation. Only two elevators work and they take forever to get one, it is very frustrating. The food is pretty average in the main buffets but the Asian restaurant Bamboo is very good. You have to ask the front desk to stock the water bottles in your room but that’s probably because they don’t want you to waste plastic bottles. Riu Republica: Great Resort

The resort was clean, staff was very friendly. The grounds and rooms very clean. The beach and pools were great. Would definitely recommend this resort to family and friends.We would go back to this resort again

Riu Playacar: Great Trip!

The hotel was great, the staff was great and accommodations were clean and comfortable. The buffet restaurant exceeded expectations, ice cream and coffee were amazing. The entertainment staff were friendly, always creating moments of fun for the little kids right up to the adults. I really enjoyed my time and would recommend the property to anyone wanting a relaxing, carefree vacation with or without their little ones. Great job Riu!
