Iberostar Selection Esmeralda: Absolutely fantastic

My travel agent had been here the month before and her recommendation certainly proved to be right. The resort is amazing and extremely well laid out. I definitely enjoyed my stay and would definitely look forward to returning in the future.

Memories Paraiso: Welcoming and warm

I had a great trip recently to Memories Paraiso. I discovered I was in "premium class" a few days in. In particular I would like to thank Mulvalie(sic) for her kind attention. As a solo traveller I greatly appreciated her consideration and inclusiveness. Overall this friendliness of the staff could not be improved upon and it made for a superb visit. Grand Aston Varadero Beach Resort: Great spot

The grand Aston was just what we were looking for in a resort. It was clean, we could get anywhere on the resort within five minutes, the food was good and lots of it. We have a son that is a picky eater and he ate most everything and tried some new things. The restaurants where good and it wasn't hard to get reservations. Before we [... read more] choose a trip we read some reviews and people were picking this place apart, if you had a bad experience at this spot you are probaly one of those people that are super picky and expect the world. When we go back to Cuba this is where we will go, oh the drinks and coffee bar was an added bonus.

Paradisus Los Cayos: Great Resort

My husband and I spent 7 days at this resort. We had a wonderful time. The beach is fantastic, clear water with chairs and umbrellas. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We were upgraded to a fantastic room which included a tub, two person shower, single shower and additional living area space with table. The food was good and there were enough options to choose from. I would definitely return and would recommend this resort.

Paradisus Los Cayos: Amazing beach, run down hotel, poor service

Beach is simply gorgeous. Hotel has a modern and appealing design, but too many things are broken or don't work. There were many days we had no warm water to shower. Many closures across the resort (pools, restaurants, etc.). Very poor service. Food is very basic, in line with what is to be expected in Cuba. Disappointing still for what a 5 star should offer.

Vila Gale Cayo Santa Maria: Great time. Amazing staff. Clean.

This resort was clean, friendly, welcoming and an excellent choice. The staff was helpful and made our stay fun. Our rooms were clean and the beach was lovely. We were taken care of. I liked that there were elevators. Showers were always hot. Pool bar waiters were Unreal. Damien was waiter in main lobby and so nice. Loved the coffee and wine was good.

Hotel is on the good location close to the beach, grounds are well kept rooms are clean plenty food friendly staff serve you whit the smile , safe place best entertainment there is a something to do all day:)

Grand Aston Varadero Beach Resort: Grand Aston March Break

Room was fantastic. Resort, pool and beach fantastic. 2 complaints: 1) Apparent so-called bread at buffet was inedible. No real bread for eggs. No buns for cold cuts. No buns for hot dogs or hamburgers at snack bar. Need to grease the right palms to get proper flour as very frustrating. 2) Entertainment should always be on stage and not in the lobby and a little amateurish. Other than that totally recommend this resort!! Gracious.

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Best beach, crowded resort, food needs improvement.

The beach is simply the best part of this resort and area. The hotel is fairly new, very clean, easy to navigate, but seemed small for the number of tourists there -especially around the lobby bar, buffet and snack bar areas.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Royalton Hicacos

13th time in Cuba, 1st time to this hotel and an adults only in years. Pros: - beach down this end of the peninsula is beautiful - probably 3 km long, 200' wide and pristine sand - very spacious room and most comfortable bed we've ever had in Cuba - grounds are gorgeous and very nicely kept, lots of trees for shade and ambiance - immaculate tennis and pickle ball courts - no shortage food staples with eggs, meat, fish, fruits, fresh breads available every day - staff are very attentive, [... read more] polite and friendly - Diamond Club - for us, worth the value - access to Italian restaurant for breakfast & lunch breaks up the monotony of 7 days of a buffet, exclusive access to 4 a la cartes, conceirge and lounge were great if you decide to use the services, free boat excursion (which we skipped) CONs: - very minor but short on some basic supplies in some places (e.g. napkins and ice cream spoons) - a la cartes pretty generic but again, break up the monotony of the buffet If you've been to Cuba and understand it's limitations as well as it's redeeming qualities, I would recommend this resort

Club Tropical: Very good hotel

Hotel is not fancy but very good and clean, location, beach, food and staff not complains at all. We stay there for 2 weeks and never regret that. Close to bars, restaurants, market, stores and right on the beach.

Melia Peninsula Varadero: Typical Cuba…fine for kids pools…

So as usual, the beach was fantastic. Pool was great and the pool restaurant was friendly servers and good atmosphere. Many people worry and complain about Cuba but you do have to understand where you’re going in all my visits to Cuba in 20 years. I only had one power outage, which happened the last night I was there Not a big deal. My recommendation would be bring a flashlight and know your limits if you wanna complain about food and so forth then don’t go. This is what I expect in Cuba and this is what I got I love the tropical fruit too bad. We didn’t have access to mangoes, but there was still at least 4 to 5 choices. The rooms are old and could be updated. However, they are functional and clean. The staff are always friendly and always love to receive goods and I’m always happy to bring an extra suitcase just full for them and I encourage other people to do that as well. My only suggestion would be if you have your own comforts then bring them and leave behind what you don’t need. I also liked that we had bottled water given to us every day instead of having to purchase it in the past. I would suggest that things are cheaper at the airport, but if you are in the markets, then definitely find what you want there. Sometimes things have been cheaper in the hotels and more expensive in the airport so although I write this today, I know the last time I went to Cuba a year and a half ago it wasn’t true so you really need to read recent posts also I would always suggest choosing the higher star hotel to hopefully get that better condition of a room. One thing I don’t like is how Sunwing has us leaving so late in the day and arriving so late and then we end up having to pay extra to do a late check out. I wish flights were a little bit more convenient and if not, then hotel check out should be negotiated with Sunwing for these kinds of situations. Also, it would be nice that Sunwing would have something posted in their hotel rather than us going and finding them the next day at 12 o’clock, which is inconvenient when all we wanna do is just relax on the beach and vacation however, these personnel are useful for people have not been to Cuba and need all the information. Also, this would be better value for money if Sunwing didn’t overcharge us for March break as it is March break it is not worth such a large amount of money and I would encourage people to go in another season or find a reasonable price for March break. It is not their high season, so it seems like it’s a killer more for us because of Sunwing charging us.

Sanctuary White Sands: Good resort Nice rooms

Liked the decor of rooms, the bathroom was of great size. All very clean. Food quite good, loved the menu, large variety of dishes. Staff adequate, polite even courtious. My B-Day fell in during my stay in the hotel and how surprised was I to see room service knocking on my door with a gift of bottle of Havana Rum! Super nice! ——- Maybe 2 things, one: if the towels in our room got changed every day, the picure would be perfect. People were getting up early to reserve the chairs /beds under shades early morning hours. A bit of a hustle.

Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: Meh

We booked this trip based on the reviews and partly because of the potential honeymoon upgrade. Unfortunately, there was no upgrade or discussion of such but did request to see our marriage certificate and said they would send a "special surprise." Instead of a room upgrade, they sent sparkling wine to our room. It was a beautiful beach but the resort itself doesn't look like it's 5 years new. We had mold spores in our bathroom, everything in our room was damp from the toilet paper to the pillow [... read more]s and bedding. I would not recommend this resort to others. Guests are only given 500 mLs of water per day, understanding there are shortages but this became increasingly difficult during our stay. The flight landed around 6:15, we didn't get to our hotel until 8:30. When we arrived, there were dance performances right in the lobby where we needed to walk through to get checked in. This was very cumbersome and not helpful to entering guests just trying to get to their rooms after a long day of travel. I think five stars for this resort is incredibly generous, I wouldn't say it's more than three stars at maximum. We had great in flight experiences with airtransat and would definitely fly with them in future.

Melia Costa Rey: GGREAT RESORT

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Amazing resort except...

We have been to Cuba many times. This resort is amazing and food was delish!! Checks all the boxes you are looking for in a resort. Only 2 things. The lobby bar staff are not the most welcoming people compared to other workers they are very cranky. The other problem was they were very clearly filling up water bottles with tap water. You can tell this by smelling the water. Once their bottled water service ran out they would fill up bottles to make it look like it was a fresh bottle. Hotel Los Cactus: Very poor hotel

I didn't care to much for this resort. It was a large grounds with Russian tourists taking up half of the resort. The buffet was really bad, I found pebbles in the rice and beans, almost broke some teeth. Black birds eating and defecating in the buffet food. This hotel is now a cubanacan and little effort has been put into the resort. There was no evening shows and I saw no animation staff for my weeks stay. This is one resort to avoid

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Best beach on the planet. Hotel Management needs to improve.

All in all, it's Cuba; so the lack of supplies did not scare me. I was really looking forward to enjoying this location, and I did; however, the buffet felt crowded and the line ups were painful almost at all times. The Chefs do an amazing job at making the best out of whatever little they get... I sincerely appreciate that.
