Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Great resort!

I loved this resort although it was my first time down south so not much to compare it to. I liked the intimate feeling of it as there is a small amount of guests. The grounds are beautiful and staff very friendly. I loved the beach! It was beautiful. Only downside was mosquitoes in morning and evening. Cayo Coco is a nature preserve though so this makes sense. Bug spray helps.

Grand Memories Santa Maria: Amazing resort

This has been one of the best all-inclusive resorts we have ever stayed at! The food was delicious! We stayed in a gorgeous traditional style bungalow # 56 with generous comfy beds. No words can describe the beauty of the beach! !!!!!! Entertainment amazing! Some People Will Complain No Matter What but it was Excellent stay experience for price of 900

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Just Okay

If you go to this resort stay at the Sanctuary. Check out is at 2 instead of 12. You get the good chairs. Better service. The main buffet was horrible. We’re not picky eaters and have been to Cuba 7 times. This was the worst. Over crowded. Cold food. Ran out of plates!, glasses. Service was almost nonexistent. Forget about getting refills on drinks. Too many people, not enough staff. They ran out of beach towels! This was at the Sanctuary. Used same towels for 3 days. The al a cartes w [... read more]ere good as was the service. You have to make Reservations. The Grand Memories beach chairs are the old white hard ones. Beach was beautiful. Won’t be going back.

Memories Paraiso: Not the best resort I ever went to in Cuba. I much prefered Cayo Coco...

The hotel and grounds are well maintained. The buffet is adequate, and sometimes pretty damn good when the hotel managers are on the premises. That being said, it is a long ride, almost two hours from the Santa-Clara Airport, being pick up 5 hours before flight time. The one thing that made our trip less enjoyable was the freakin mosquitoes. they call them ''no see em''. You do not see them, they are smaller than fruit flies, they sting you and three four minutes later you start itching like cra [... read more]sy. My first experience with them was when I was sitting at an outdoor terrace for about 5 minutes. Five minutes later I started to itch, I had over 50 bites all over my exposed feets. It was so bad that my feet swole up and I had to go to take a taxi to the Clinic (10 cpesos). I received an injection of benadril and cortizone. This little adventure ruined about three days of my trip. I think that it would have been nice to have a warning about this situation prior to departure. I would have bought some deep wood Off. There are three pools on the premises, none of which are deeper than 3 feet deep! my out of ground swimming pool is deeper...

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Small, cozy, and relaxing

The food was great (for Cuba!). The staff were friendly. The beach was beautiful. The size of the resort was perfect if you like small and intimate. My only complain is the mosquitos are bad in this area.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Amazing Trip!!!

This was our first trip to Memories Varadero. Overall it was a great experience a few minor flaws but nothing that affected our overall trip. The service in a few places needs some improvement often we were told they had run out of items but seen other people with those items. We had a renovated room so we had no complaints there. Resonance Blu Varadero: Fantastic resort

This is resort is huge ! Everyday they have carts to drive you from the lobby to anywhere on the resort, the staff was incredible especially Amaury,Amed&Juan(baggage and cart)Soe,Ailen,Yenisleidy, Thalia(lobby) Arlette (diamond club dining area) and I cannot remember her name but she makes omelettes in the morning and is always singing and being amazing)

Memories Jibacoa: Great resort, great people

The resort was well maintained with a very friendly staff. Our room was made up in good time daily with not issues. Beach and pool were amazing with the hot cuban sun shade was at a premium but with a bit of planning spots could be found. The food was good we were always able to find meals that suited our needs.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Absolutely Amazing!

Where do I begin!?! My husband and I went down to this resort for a quiet romantic get-away. We booked the "Just the two of us" symbolic wedding ceremony and renewed our wedding vows while we were there. From the time we arrived until the time we left we were made to feel so special. A huge thank you to Ariadna and Susel from Public Relations at the resort! They took our vision and made it so much more! I can't express how happy we are with how everything turned out. We used a photographer arranged by the resort for our renewal and were very happy with the pictures. We will cherish them forever. The staff at this resort are amazing. I had a sunburn on our first day there and Alfredo the gardener went out of his way to cut fresh aloe for me. His kind heart and friendly daily greetings will be forever remembered. He and all of the gardeners and cleaning staff work so hard to keep this resort looking so amazing. I didn't catch the lady's name that cleaned our room, but we were in room 2116, and it was always kept so clean. I loved coming back to the room and finding the different animals she folded out of our towels. The elephant was my favourite. The entertainment crew were high energy and made sure there was something for everyone to do. Their sense of humour and spirit was refreshing from some of the other resorts that we have been to not only in Cuba but other countries as well. We are also going to miss Yasser from the lobby bar! I absolutely loved his friendly personality and delicious coffees. We always had hot water. We could always find something to eat. We tried all 3 a la cartes and enjoyed each of them. From their ambience and lovely wait staff, to the well presented food placed in front of us. Huge shout out to Eduardo at the Cuban restaurant. You sir are a funny man. You brought lots of laughs to our table when we ate there. Then the beach! Oh my goodness! If you are looking for a calm, shallow, clear ocean to wade and float in - this is your beach. The white sand and turquoise water was beautiful. We could always find a nice shady spot to sit. A little tip - if you walk past the diamond club, there is a stretch of beach with a lot of chairs and palapas. I feel that not many guests knew this and didn't venture out that way. We met so many wonderful people also visiting this resort and made lasting friendships. We are already talking about a reunion trip back to this resort. Thank you Memories Caribe. Royalton Splash Punta Cana: Great resort for kids!

We had a great stay with our 4 and 8 year old. This was a good value resort for our family. There was a bit of s scramble for pool chairs in the morning so I recommend getting up early. It would be great if the hotel had towel cards do people couldn’t leave their towels all over the chairs to reserve them.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Couldn’t have had a better trip!

Upon planning this trip, my boyfriend and I really didn’t have high expectations. We just wanted beach and pool. Boy were we surprised. This resort checked off many essentials that we needed to have a memorable time. Room-simple and clean (who stays on their room Anyways) Food-we could always find something adequate to eat (beach fries and hot dogs were the best) Staff-fun polite and helpful The grounds-stunning (we loved the stairs because we got a stunning view and our workout) Beach-A [... read more]mazing (that is why we vacation) Pool-a bit cloudy at the swim up bar (but it’s a swim up bar) Lastly, we did the Gazebo lobster dinner one night for extra$$$ and it was so worth it! I believe it is all about the people who you are with when vacationing. Don’t focus so much on the negative. We will most definitely go back!

Grand Memories Punta Cana: Great family trip!

All was great. Staff was fantastic, service was quick. DO NOT DO THE TIME SHARE THING! Although the "free" steak dinner at the Royalton was amazing, it was not worth the 3 hours of my time. I had a new "blended" family go, and the water slides, etc. got them to bond. My only complaint (other than the time share) would be that there were limited seats at the pool and beach with shade. Otherwise, I loved it. Will definitely return...

Sol Turquesa Beach: Amazing vacation

Loved the resort! The grounds are beautiful and the beach was great. Very friendly staff. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. Will definitely go back again. Sunwing was very visible and we were very satisfied with the excursions that we took, especially the Bay Adventure.

Grand Memories Varadero: Not what I expected

I will start off with saying the beach was amazing! Perfect rather. I didn’t expect a lot given it’s not a luxury resort. Room needs new pillows, thicker blankets and thorough cleaning. Housekeeper(s) literally only made the beds. I did tip very well and they even thanked me personally for the gifts I left for them everyday. Though my towels were not replaced in some days and were just hung to dry they did make an effort with those towel design thing so maybe this was a resort thing not a  [... read more]housekeeper issue. The washroom reaked urine some days and the tub was not the cleanest. I have a pet peeve on dirty washrooms so this was definitely a total turn off. My request for top floor was not provided but it was okay except the lock to my balcony door was broken and a piece of wood was placed to lock it which made me feel very uneasy especially when the combination to my safe is written on the mirror, kind of weird so I kept everything in my luggage and locked my luggage everyday. Almost like a get away for people in Montreal or those that speaks French. If you don’t know Spanish or French I will say good luck to you. I wouldn’t recommend it but maybe it was my expectation that failed me. It was my birthday week after all so I attempted everyday to upgrade to a better suite and even The Sanctuary and nothing was available. Sadly, my favourite part was when I left the whole day to go to Havana. I researched reviews to this resort repeatedly before I chose it and it was not at all what I expected.

Grand Memories Punta Cana: Beautiful and convenient

The resort was clean and beautiful. We were in Block 24 which felt centrally located even though the resort was huge. The buffet, water park, and beach were accessible by trolley. Great spot for family! And the staff were friendly and easy to talk to as well!

Resonance Blu Varadero: Rundown resort in serious need of repair

I’ve travelled to Cuba over 17 times now. I know what to expect. People are amazing and the food is normally mediocre at best. Usually, the accommodations are clean and secure. I have been to this resort in particular four times. I’ve returned because I’ve always had a good experience at this resort This time the accommodation was ridiculous. I will list the problems. We had a total of five rooms for 11 people, Two of the rooms had to be changed immediately because one room had [... read more] so much water damage and black mould that it was unbearable. The other room, the bed was infested with ants. We had no problem changing rooms in fact they did not even ask us why… One can only assume that this is such a common practice there that they no longer bother to ask. One of the rooms the safe did not work, At least four of the rooms had no locks on the sliding doors. Another room, there was no control over the air conditioning One of the rooms had no furniture My room in particular had a broken toilet… A sliding door that would not lock and actually would not close all of the way… No light fixture… No place to sit down… A TV that did not work… And I safe that did not work… The spare blankets in the closet smelled so bad that I would have to assume that they had not been washed in over a year The furniture in the buffet was worn and uncomfortable .... they were running out of cups and in fact one of the bars would not allow us to come in and get a drink using their plastic disposable cups if we did not stay in the area to drink it The staff in the buffet was amazing and there was several good servers in the main lobby bar area… Here’s the thing that really amaze me though usually in Cuba the customer service is incredible but for whatever reason at this resort we had several bad experiences with staff they were ignorant sarcastic and sometimes extremely rude… apparently they were unaware of that one of the members of our group was fluent in Spanish !

Memories Jibacoa: Quaint Small Resort with Great Staff

The resort sits on a very picturesque shoreline with a beautiful lush backdrop of the surrounding hills.The landscaping is immaculate and the pool facilities very well maintained.The beach is beautiful white sand with coral reefs and great snorkeling right in front of the hotel.The tennis courts are in poor shape but the tennis instructor Alberto was great.The resort should consider turning the all purpose court into 4 Pickelball courts as many Canadians go to this resort and are looking for Pic [... read more]kelball facilities. The accommodation are very dated and a bit run down.Booked ocean view 6 months prior to arrival and ended up with pool side!The hotel shutdown the water system after midnight for a few hours for unknown reasons which was very frustrating.The entertainment was by far the best I have see at any 4+ resort!The bar for beverages had excellent service as did all the food venues!The food was at best just OK.The diamond club option was not worth the price!

Memories Jibacoa: Ok resort but amazing staff

On arrival we were told that the ocean front rooms we had booked six months in advance were not available. This was very disappointing to us we were looking forward to seeing the ocean from our balcony. We were given “Diamond club “ status as a token peace offering. This is a $15/day value that I would not recommend paying for as advantages are limited. Rooms and hotel in general are clean and in good shape. Water to the rooms was shut off between midnight and 0530 I’m not sure why but the [... read more]re was no warning and it seemed a nightly occurrence? Staff is amazing , Cuban people are so happy and friendly , family is very important. Alberto at the tennis court was very accommodating and patient with our tennis game and showed us how to play mini tennis.Food is good although one of our fellow travellers became ill on our last day and was prescribed an antibiotic when he returned to Canada. There were a lot of smokers at the resort so don’t expect the rules to be the same as in Canada. Recommend the old car tour into Havana with “Oddetie” sounds like “old lady” ask around for $25 cuc its an all day guided tour in a 1950 Chev. This tour is better.and cheaper than the Sunwing bus trip excursion. Hola

Grand Memories Varadero: Nice resort, well kept and the staff work very hard to maintain.

I didn't like the food very much. there was lots of it and always available but I found it very bland and because I have a limited diet, there was not a lot for me. I also found that the food was never very warm. Again, the staff were very nice and helpful. The pools and the beach were beautiful and the entertainment staff did a very good job. Overall, I enjoyed my trip but would probably not return to that location.
