Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: A disapointment

The hotel was completely overbooked. Don't believe what you hear about the restaurants - you can't actually get into them unless you pay extra to become part of the diamond club (unless you want to wait at least an hour and a half). Even so, we put our name on the list for Zen, were told it would be an hour and a half wait, and then had people slipping the staff money to cut the line. We ended up having to eat in the jam-packed buffet every night. Note, we paid extra to stay in the adults on [... read more]ly section, but it was often full at meal time, meaning that we had to sit among hundreds of families in the cafeteria-style room full of tables. The room was clean, but we didn't get the king bed we were promised (two queens). Unless you put a towel down on the lounges by the pool first thing in the morning, like everyone else, you will not get a seat. Unless you are a young, drunk woman in your 20s, you are unlikely to be brought drinks by the beach. The hot tubs were usually lukewarm, and there was often no hot water in our room shower in the evenings (including our jacuzzi).

Royalton Saint Lucia Resort and Spa: Great new resort

Was there a month after opening so still some small issues to sort out but: Awesome food at the buffet or the a la carte. The chefs at this resort can cook some really nice food. Property is beautiful, clean and the staff is awesome. Always willing to go the extra mile to please and they love their jobs and it is apparent. Nothing more needed for a great holiday.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Would never recommend!

Sold to us as an adults only resort. Was disappointed in every area due to this. Resort was okay, nothing to set it apart from other resorts. Wait times for restaurants was on average over an hour and reservations were not accepted. Most meals ended up being served cold.

Royalton Hideaway Saint Lucia: St Lucia is amazing; resort needs time

The grounds are beautiful; the food is great. Was impressed with the buffet's variety, freshness and the genuine eagerness of staff to get whatever you desire. Many cooking stations for fresh meats and pastas at night and egg and pancakes in morning. A la carte restaurants, Hunter restaurant took1 1/2 hrs to get our main course, at the Calypso 1 hour to get appetizers Biggest regret was not waiting to go to resort when it would have all what it advertised ready to be experienced by the guests, [... read more] and also staff properly trained and familiar with the various services, inclusions and offerings of the resort. Resort staff very friendly; the Diamond Club was still under construction and not open; Hideaway not exclusive to adults only or other guests; many amenities while offered not available. Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Another incredible stay!

Our family just returned from our 4th Royalton stay and we can’t praise this resort experience enough! The resort is so clean, the food is incredible and the staff is out of this world. There is so much to do and even if you want a quiet afternoon away from it all, you can find that too! Not only do they deliver wonderful service every time we visit, they’ve become one of the reasons why we continue to come back to the Royalton each time we can sneak away for a family vacation. Royalton Hideaway Blue Waters: Very nice resort

This is a beautiful resort. Everything was clean, the food was great the people are friendly. The beach area is small which is fine with me. Beautiful wedding destination, we saw probably 5 or 6 weddings in one week. I really liked that you didn't have to turn in your beach towel every day for a card. The resort lets you use all the beach towels you want. I also really like that the room key in on your wristband, no worries about loosing it. You can go to the same restaurant over and over if you like. I was most impressed with the steak at the Italian restaurant, it was even better than the steak house restaurant. The locals that try to sell you things on the beach are not pushy at all. If you tell a vendor no thank you, they say "no problem" and leave you alone. In other countries, the local people can be very pushy and even follow you around to try to make the sale. Fabulous kid section, lots of slides and a lazy river, lifeguards on duty until 5:30 p.m. each day. We took the luminous water tour, and though it was interesting, it was expensive and in my opinion, not worth the money. The only negative I would have to say about this resort is that a number of people were smoking the local herb on their balconies and I don't like the smell, it makes me nauseous. I could smell the "weed" every day.

Royalton Saint Lucia Resort and Spa: Off to a great start..

The Royalton Saint Lucia is a beautiful new resort and we really enjoyed our stay overall. It helped that the resort was fairly quiet and empty with a low occupancy when we visited, so we got to experience it without any crowds or noise. It was a peaceful and luxurious vacation, and very relaxing. The rooms were huge and clean, spacious and airy, as were all of the buildings. The designers had good taste and the nice furniture and design touches gave the resort an even more luxurious feel. The food was really very good, with all 13 restaurants offering quality food, good variety, and very nicely cooked overall. The buffet/ Marche was the best, offering the best variety and freshness. The pools and grounds were beautiful, the landscaping very lovely, and the beach, although small, was well designed and groomed. The staff were courteous, very friendly, young and helpful. They were overall well trained in hotel arts, but the breakfast buffet lacked attentiveness toward guests, with servers appearing lost and clueless, never bringing fresh napkins or cutlery on time and missing the urgency with which north americans require their coffee in the morning. I was utterly frustrated at the super slow pace of the morning waitresses who could not find me an urn of coffee to save my life. By the time they brought the coffee, breakfast was almost done at my table. This occurred every morning and so was a completely reproducible error, although I openly voiced my pleasant concerns each morning that my need for coffee was unmet. Only one other restaurant, the steakhouse, took too long to serve food, over an hour's wait for simple entrees, and the manager did apologize afterwards. These glitches are expected in a new resort and I am sure that they will improve service over time. Overall, this resort is off to an excellent start as it is a beautiful location, with good food, beautiful pools and helpful staff.

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Great Food!

The resort itself was nice, clean, modern. The food was the best I've ever had at a resort, however, the diamond club upgrade was definitely not worth the money. While I enjoyed the resort, I wouldn't go back. It is quite isolated. There were a ton of families and children. It is definitely geared more for families and teens.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Top notch resort

We liked being at Hideaway at the Royalton resort. The resort is huge and a family resort beyond Hideaway area. Diamond club also gave us reservations to all restaurants and glad not to wait in lineups. The resort is very clean, food was very good, entertainment was good for families, the bands after 9 p.m. is what we enjoyed every night . The beach was nice to take a stroll, however lots of sea weed that cannot be controlled due to climate change

The food and the service was the two best things about this resort! Buffet and all the a la carte's were excellent and everyone that waited on us was happy and very polite. The beach is typical mexico, just ok. It is isolated from the other resorts so you can't walk for miles in either direction because there's nothing on either side of the resort so that's different. My main negative issue is that we paid to upgrade to Diamond club and I was expecting a better view than just the mangroves a [... read more]s well as the service road being directly next to our rooms so we were woken up very early in the morning from the noises of the carts driving by. In my opinion the Diamond club is not worth the upgrade, the other rooms are just as nice and the butlers are hit and miss, some don't do anything for you at all. It is a very nice resort though and we loved the way it was laid out with the inside lobby area and stores etc, very modern and easy to find everything.

Royalton Hideaway Blue Waters: Great Resort

The resort was clean and well appointed. The staff was quite helpful and had a desire to please the guests. The booze and food was exceptional. We would go back to this resort... a great family resort or a singles holiday..

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Beautiful resort/fantastic service/I would return

This was our first trip to Cuba. The Royalton was a pleasant surprise after you hear so many poor things about Cuba. The service top notch. Everyone extremely pleasant and attentive. The food was much better than expected. The pool was chilly (not heated) and so in March, too cool for swimming.. although a few brave souls got in. Our room on the ground floor was large however there was a musty/damp smell which got better during our stay (or we got used to it). The shower/bathroom is in need of a [... read more] renovation. Rusty bath fittings. We purchased Diamond Club and would do it again in a flash. It's worth the extra. You get advance reservations for the a la carte restaurants and special seating on the beach with tons of umbrellas/covered sun beds.

Royalton Punta Cana Resort: Very nice resort

We stayed here during March break, we travel every year during this time. We really enjoyed the Royalton and the waterpark at Memories. The resort was very clean, the rooms were nice. The beach is gorgeous! Lots of chairs and shade. The food is very good at the buffets and most of the dine around restaurants, the Japanese and the steakhouse were excellent. The sports bar has amazing burgers. The one complaint I have was the front desk staff and check-in. When we checked in they told us the hot [... read more]el was sold out and overbooked and that we would have to go to Memories for a few nights. Really??!! How do you overbook a hotel where people are arriving on airplanes with reservations? If I wanted to stay at Memories I would have paid the significantly less money it cost to go there! I paid for the Royalton. We had to go to Memories for 1 night and for this trouble they upgraded us to Diamond Club at the Royalton. I have been travelling for 25 years to the Caribbean and never had that happen before. By talking to other guests during the week we found out they did this to many others.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Amazing Resort!

My husband and I have been to various all-inclusive resorts throughout the Caribbean and Hideaway Royalton Riviera Cancun was by far the best. The food, service, and accommodations were all top notch. We thoroughly enjoyed our week and fully intend on returning next year.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Oceanview Rooms are Hide Away

The Beach was not walk able and No one swam in the ocean because of all the Seaweed. The resort is large,clean and well staffed. Do not pay up for the promise of Ocean view. We had to stand and peek around the corner of our balcony to get a glimpse of it.We complained but no action. Very disapointed considering how much we payed.

Royalton Hideaway Saint Lucia: Phenomenal location and resort!

The Royalton was still under construction in some areas but one could hardly tell. Rooms and decor were the nicest we have ever seen. The food selection was above expectations to say the least and the staff were incredibly helpful and went out of their way to help any way they could. You could tell that for many of the servers that this was their first job. A little disorganized, but I am confident they will have it nailed down in no time flat.

We took a 2 bedroom presidential suite that ended up being 2 adjacent rooms since the outside door had no lock on it. The place was filthy and and never cleaned properly. They run out of everything (food, drinks, etc) and never replenish. We paid a fortune to stay there and we were begging to get bottles of water... pathetic. Go somewhere else...

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Wonderful Week!

The hotel showed signs of age (we were there when it was a sandals nine years ago) but the grounds were beautiful and the rooms and bathrooms very clean. The food at the main buffet was SO good with lots of healthy options. The only let down was the butler service - it was non existent. especially when you've experienced it at other Royaltons.

Royalton Hideaway Saint Lucia: Beautiful Scenery and wonderful resort!

Brand New only open 2 weeks and staff were amazing. This will definitely be a 5 star resort. the adults section has own beach and one restaurant but you can access all the restaurants in the resort. If looking for strictly adults ONLY then this is not for you. We will go back and recommend.
