Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Great Hotel

Very clean, service was great, ala carte restaurants were very good, Italian was amazing. Pool service was consistently great. Location of the pools were perfect, kids pool at one end of the resort, with a pool for everyone in the middle and the loud adult party pool at the other end of the resort, well planned out. Beach was good, great for long walks.....Walked into Puerto Moreles which was fantastic.

Villas Vallarta by Canto del Sol: It was a okay resort for under a $1,000.00 Canadian

We slept at Villas Vallarta and ate and played at Canto del Sol, which is across the road. Our room was basic and was in need of major updating. Since we only slept there we didn't care, it was clean though and maids did a great job. They have some updated rooms at villas but we didn't see any. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and smiling all the time. The facilities at Canto del Sol were fairly new well maintained and clean and they have two pools and indoor and outdoor t [... read more]ennis courts, the Villas have one small pool. The pools at Canto del Sol were excellent. The beach is narrow and brown sand and hard to walk through. The resort is off an 8 lane highway with no speed limits, the side walks in places are quite narrow and broken up so care must be taken when walking because vehicles are travelling various speeds and close to the sidewalk. The local bus service can be caught just outside the resort and is 7.5 pesos, which is about 60 cents canadian, a good deal. All in all we enjoyed our week there and provided you were not born with a silver spoon you will enjoy yourself.

Grand Sirenis Matlali Hills: amazing staff and a good workout

Grand Sirenis Matlali Hills is a lovely resort for adults looking for a quiet vacation. Three lovely pool areas and four a la carte restaurants. The staff were extremely friendly and spoke English very well. The shuttle to the beach area is 10 minutes and allowed us to get to know our fellow travellers. Drinks were never left empty at the adult only pool near buildings 5 and 6 where you can also get a bite to eat. Their guacamole was excellent. The Japanese restaurant needs some fine tuning and we were unable to get reservations at the Brazilian restaurant. We enjoyed breakfast with daily omelettes made by Lucia in the Italian restaurant. You can request a cappuccino if you prefer stronger coffee in the morning. This vacation spot is a little out of the way and requires mobility to walk up and down stairs and steep terrain. Alternatively you can call for a driver to shuttle you. We often walked down hill and called Carlos to drive us up the hill always with courteous service and a smile. We stayed in building 5 that was recently opened with a beautiful walk in shower and view of the water. Tipping is optional however greatly appreciated by staff that work hard to make your vacation pleasant. The Sunday market can be driven close to by the beach shuttle and is well worth your time. If you are looking for quiet vacation with top notch service you will enjoy your stay at Grand Sirenis Matlali Hills.

Las Brisas Huatulco: amazing resort

the resort was beautiful with lush gardens and great ocean views. the food was very good and the specialty restaurants were excellent. the people on the resort and in the towns were very friendly. would go back in a new york minute. shuttles where very quick when you called.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Wonderful home away from home in paradise!

The Ocean Coral and Turquesa is a stunning, vast resort situated on the ocean with a beautiful beach, 4 pools, many restaurants, coffee shop, nightly entertainment with fabulous dancers and attentive, friendly staff. The resort was very well maintained, clean and well lit in the evening. We would stay here again and enjoyed our honeymoon very much. My o [... read more]ne concern is that we did not know in advance that there was no elevator for guests (unless handicapped I assume). We were on the top floor and have some health issues that made it difficult at times. Our maid was hit and miss with the daily room maintenance and once our room was not made up at all until we called in the late afternoon. Not a big deal but slightly annoying. I have already recommended this resort to two friends looking to travel to the Mayan Riviera in February and March.

Riu Santa Fe: Fantastic family vacation

This was our third time to the Riu Santa Fe. We have always gone through an amazing travel agent, Lisa Shelly-Ansell from Trip Central, who was always available for information and problem solving. The Riu Santa Fe has absolutely gorgeous grounds and pools. They are kept very clean. We always had a chair by a pool and no problem or line ups at the beach towel hut. They gave us a disk that lite up when our table was ready, so there was no standing in line ( we enjoyed pre dinner drinks at the bar) The staff were AMAZING and went out of there way to make our trip enjoyable. The rooms were cleaned daily and we always had fresh water, pop and beer in the fridge. We did some excursions and I highly recommend the Cabo Flyboard. The place is located on Office Street behind the Mango Deck at Medano beach. This about a 20 minute walk down the beach as you head into Cabo San Luca. The owners are professional and ranked # 1 and # 2 in North America. They are very safety conscience, encouraging and fun. We also enjoyed Lovers Beach where my son and husband did some rock climbing while the rest of us wandered over to divorce beach where we saw the whales jumping from the shore. We enjoyed a day in town, visited Cabo Wabo , WTF Burgers ( amazing people and service) and did some shopping at the Luxury Plaza. The boys also enjoyed ATV's, deep sea diving,repelling and bungy jumping, my daughter and her partner enjoyed a Luxury Day Sailing, that stopped at different beaches, allowed time for snorkeling and swimming with the baby seals. We enjoyed a dinner cruise that took us around the Arc and had a great view of the sea lions. With our adult children leading busy lives and working, we found this a much needed vacation to catch up and have fun together. I highly recommend Lisa at trip central and the Riu Santa Fe.

Iberostar Waves Tucan: Awesome Resort!

This resort was great! Very clean, great food, great entertainment, and fantastic staff! They were very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely go back! I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a nice place to vacation.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Nice Resort

Resort has been well designed, 4 pools for different ages and genres, restaurants in close proximity of each other for easy access. However, NO ELEVATORS working anywhere, too many stairs to lobby and rooms, some rooms are quite far from lobby, definitely NOT a resort for people with any type of physical handicap. A lot of walking on hard (either marble or terrazzo or granite) surfaces everywhere. Easy access to the beach and "sea" as they call it. Constantly very windy, making the water quite d [... read more]irty with sand and weeds, so not the best for swimming and not at all close to Cuban beaches, so we were very disappointed upon arriving. This Resort is one of the cleanest (everywhere) that I've seen, also the grounds are really well maintained and groomed. The Complex is completely surrounded by fencing as well as front gate with guard at all times, every vehicle must check in & out, making security a priority for their guests. Rooms are large, iron & board, safe, all included. However the small beverage fridge should be free of ice build-up for coolness, they don't realize it needs defrosting, so it warms up. Wifi is better in the "Privilege" area, but not bad elsewhere. Italian is the best restaurant, but closed one night a week, others over-rated. Overall, it was a wonderful week with my four adult children & their partners.

Grand Decameron Los Cabos: Well worth the money

This is a small well run resort, the employees couldn't do enough for you. The maid service was outstanding, each day the rooms were cleaned thoroughly. You can't swim in the ocean at this resort but we knew that going in, the main pool is heated and it was very comfortable to swim in. The one downfall of the hotel is that they only have one ala carte restaurant which you have to sign up for every day and it fills up early. All in all worth the money.

Dreams Huatulco: Amazing Resort

The hotel was very clean and the service was impeccable. Our rooms we're cleaned twice a day which we have never experienced. The spa was fabulous very relaxing and super clean. The grounds were kept almost perfect each day. The food was very good big buffet and you had restaurants to choose from too!

Riu Santa Fe: 2nd time there and I would still go back

I love this resort - the staff are amazing, the food it great and the scenery just perfect. Although you cannot swim on the beach, the infinity pools overlooking them are almost as good. You can walk into town along the beach, take a water taxi to see the sealions and lovers/divorce beach. Super safe, fun and great for all ages.

Riu Santa Fe: Incrediable resort

Absolutely the place to go. Food was excelent every evening different themes. Hotel super clean, the staff were very helpfull and friendly. Lots of lounge chairs for all the guests. Several pools, lots of bars at the pools. 24 sports bar offers food for evening snacking and beverages. We went for a massage at the spa that is on the premises. Excellent. Excellent. We give it a full 5 star rating. Best place we ever stayed at.

Fiesta Americana Puerto Vallarta: A+ for Customer service

This hotel goes over and above for customer service. They are there to make you happy. The food, the grounds and most of all the staff is excellent. We just got back and cannot wait to plan our next vacation back to Fiesta Americana.

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: 2nd More than sureal!

This is our second time at the Valentin Imperial Maya, The resort is beautiful, extremely well maintained, the service is excellent, and the food is above delicious...We will certainly be back next year. Entertainment was excellent, especially The Tenors...just amazing, we loved them!

Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas: Disappointing

We stayed here 4.5 years ago and could not wait to get back there to feel to feel that feeling of getting pampered we loved it then. However this time we were so disappointed the food quality and variety in the buffet it was good food but not premium food like we payed for. Room cleaning was far from good funny they don't forget to grab the tip laundry service we asked 3 times to have it done left the bag on the bed with a tip they took the tip and tossed the bag in the corner we talked to the f [... read more]ront desk on Friday morning they said they would take care of it they did not so saterday there way to fix it was to offer to do it at a express service at a 2x the fee so we said forget it. Needless to say I will never pay the palace premium again I may go back to Santa fe if it was a huge deal Not a 5 star anymore

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Very nice resort

Junior suites are exceptionally clean and spacious. The variety of restaurants is excellent as is the diversity in pool environments. Staff were very friendly. The ocean was quite rough and beach had seaweed.

Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas: Renovations don't always mean improvements

Having been here 4.5 years ago and the Santa Fe 2 years ago, I was really excited to see the renovations and get back to "5 star" quality. Maybe because I'd been here before my expectations were extremely high but in the end I felt let down. - "5 Star" resort/1 start toilet paper. Seriously I could read through it - Bathroom renovations were lovely and the mattress was FAR better than 4.5 years ago - Some of the renovations in the check-in area have made it look like an 80s European disco tec [... read more]h - The "24 hour bar" is now self-serve and they leave the usual crappy booze you get in your room there. - The "Riu" brand alcohol in many cases was terrible. I seriously sent back at least 5 drinks because the taste was so bad. Which didn't make sense because up until a certain point they were great. My friend kept commenting that the vodka tasted like tequila so we figured they were using the crap vodka - All those renovations and still no bathroom near the pool!!!!! No wonder people were peeing in the swim-up bar, it was too dangerous to go up or down the stairs (when drunk) to get to the washrooms - Food this time was only slightly better than the Santa Fe. (The Italian restaurant was the exception. Very tasty). Other than having elevators in ALL the buildings, not sure paying more was really worth it over the Santa Fe party resort next door - The 24-hour sports lounge is comfortable and bright but I didn't pay extra on a trip for self-serve. Sorry but that's not cool - Service was typically excellent. I did however enjoy when a woman at the Front Desk told me that there was not a light in the shower when I let them know that it was not working. The next day it worked all day and then never worked again. No light indeed - The cleaning staff never refilled our fridge all week so we were getting water from the 24-hour bar. Last time that fridge was ALWAYS full no matter what - Pool water was quite cool. Having been here once before in January I don't recall it being that chilly before but hey, I was drinking. - The addition or reno of the coffee bar is a nice touch. Connected to the original 24-hour bar that all close too early. Overall it was not the experience I felt I had 4.5 years ago and left us all a little disappointed considering that this is the premium resort of Riu. The pools look lovely and you can find people watching at its finest. The beach is fine if you don't walk on it. Excellent service from Abril in the breakfast area and Miguel at Krystal (which we didn't bother returning). But after 4-5 days, we were all tired of the buffet food. Truthfully, for the price difference I would recommend people go to Santa Fe. Save the money and go into town for more food and atmosphere. Our friends rented a car and had some great experiences and culinary treats. We walked into town twice and it's just fun going up and down the streets.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: A Dream Vacation!

No words can explain how much fun I had in one week at Grand Bahia Principe Coba! Everything was so perfect, the hotel is amazing, the staff always so happy, service is 10+, swimming pools and the beach OMG just increatible!!! I will be going back very soon, and recommend everyone to check it out, you will be amazed!!!

Camino Real Zaashila: Great resort

The hotel is 25 years old the service is great but the hotel could use a good face lift, the food could be a little improved all though they try to make your stay as pleasant as possible but over all it's still an 8 out of 10 there is no doubt will return in a flash.

Villas Vallarta by Canto del Sol: Recommend!

Clean, quiet, good food, family friendly. Large rooms! Great staff, very accommodating! Staff always reminding us that they're there to make sure we're happy! Our second visit and we'll go back again!
