Grand Decameron Panama: Panama paradise

The grounds to the Royal Decameron were well taken care of. The a la carte restaurants were fabulous. The buffet restaurants were bountiful and readily available. Our room would be a 3 star. It was clean and comfortable. It lacked in lighting..no lamps at all, not even bedside lamps. The patio door was very difficult to maneuver..it definitely needed repairs. We stayed in Block No 1, Please note that these rooms need to be updated, do not expect a luxury setting or hot water very often for that, yet clean enough, but once you open up that patio door it did not take long for the room negativity to go away with the amazing views. The grounds were well kept with the bars being an arms length away. The food was actually not to bad with always something to eat no mater what time of day. Went also took the tour Rhythm of the night and enjoyed it. Dinner was good but one suggestion is to bring a sweater or jacket for the return boat ride.

The Grand Decameron Bucerias is a very nice resort, within walking distance of centro Bucerias. The resort is spread out with several different blocks of rooms and 6 pools. So there's lots of choice whether you want quiet or more active. The beach is wide and has lots of palapas for shade. There's also free use kayaks, which was fun for our group. I did find that food was [... read more] never hot though, just warm, not sure if it's because the steam tables weren't turned up enough or because the lids were never closed. The staff was helpful and attentive.The other buffet had less selection I found, but the food was hot. It gets busy though, I prefer not to wait. We did a few a la cartes, the best was Mediterranean (Italian) it was awesome!! The Brazilian was good too if you like your meat! The pools were a little on the cool side, but once you're in, it's fine. The rooms are standard, beds were firm, they have mattress toppers on request, good water pressure and no shortage of hot water. AC worked really well! I found all staff were friendly and made us feel like they were happy to have us there. There was nightly shows early by the pool and then at the amphitheater at 9:30. There was guests of all walks of life, leaning more to 50+ there were families as well. We really enjoyed our stay, and would be happy to return again.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Wonderful vacation at a GREAT Resort

My wife and I had a wonderful time at the Decameron. Many options of all sorts to do and see. Huge beach, great food, friendly staff. VERY CLEAN EVERYWHERE. Nothing to complain about. I only suggest doing something about the limited beach palapas.

It’s decent resort for the money you spend. Rooms are basic but everything was functional and clean. We stayed closer to the beach m, which we loved. The grounds are well kept and there are lots of activities during the day for those interested. Food was basic but good quality and you could always find something decent. It’s super close to Bucerías town centre which is such a great way to shake it up, roam around and eat authentic local food if you’re sick of all inclusive. The beach is beautiful and stretches out into each direction. The ocean is not your crystal clear turquoise paradise water, but clean. There are sting rays and water snakes to watch out for but it didn’t stop us from swimming every day. Shuffle your feet when you’re walking into the ocean to avoid stepping on anything. Very close to Puerta Vallarta for city exploration, excursions, whale watching and La Caletas coast visits (highly recommend).

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias is a very good resort, clean and well maintained, meal services very good, nice beach area with darker sand, clean water with no sea grass at all during January, bikes and kayaks available free of charge, local village right next to the resort and further down a good trail taking you to resorts south of this location, rooms very clean with a small fridge to, Wi-Fi was better than expected being available on the balcony of rooms in block 4 and also along the wall  [... read more]where the Ocean front rooms were ( could have been good other locations too ), pools not so large or deep. Not a night person the evening music could be loud depending on the room location, Block 4 was fairly good to not hear it too loudly however if the room was between Block 4 and 3 some additional noise from the deliveries early in the morning to the restaurant. Shower is a little dated still more than acceptable with plenty of hot water. In the future I would consider going again, also at time of our booking was one of the best priced places in the region.

Decameron Los Cocos Guayabitos Ramada: It’s an okay place to stay

the Decameron Los Cocos in Guayabitos is an older hotel that appears to be under renovation. the rooms are old but clean and ours was freshly painted. staff were pleasant but had little english when we had requests or to ask questions. Breakfast omelettes are amazing as is the chef! She was delightful, singing and dancing! The rest of the food is okay but not a lot of flavour and not very hot. Beach is great but very busy! Hard to find chairs unless you wake up very early. Lots of vendor [... read more]s. Pools ok but limited time in the sun

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Great stay second visit would definitely recommend.

My friend and I visited this resort for a week Jan 11-17 2025. We had a wonderful stay. Our room was spacious and clean, the food was delicious with a lot of selection and so were the a la carte restaurants. The drinks were plentiful and the bartenders were excellent. All of the staff was very friendly and helpful and I would recommend this resort to anyone. Friends, families and couples. Cons: The wifi did not work in our room. I was in block 3 near the lobby, but when we were in our room we could not connect. I know 3rd world problem, but just letting you know. However it was awesome on the beach near the bar and by the pools. 2nd Con was the Westjet rep. We decided to book an excursion and booked through him afterwards finding out that it would have been cheaper to book online direct. Also he told us we had to leave the resort at 6:15am, only to reach the office and be told that we didn't have to be there until 9am. So we could have had breakfast and a more leisure morning instead of starving and sitting at the office for an additional 2.5 hrs. Apparently they sent the rep an email of the time change and he did not forward that to us. So do yourself a favor and book online direct with the actual companies.

Grand Muthu Runaway Bay Club Caribbean: Great Resort, friendly staff, exceptionally clean

We just got back from Decameron Club Caribbean on Runaway Bay. We stayed in a gardenview cottage. We were put in a "loft" cottage, not sure why as there was just 2 of us, these are for families with kids. I asked the next day to be moved to a cottage with a King bed with no loft, they had a very nice cottage available and kindly moved us there. It was much nicer and a quieter area of the resort. The staff are amazing, very friendly and always ask if your ok and if you need anything. The foo [... read more]d is amazing, something a little different everyday; breakfast, lunch, snack 3-5, and then dinner. 4 meals a day, no shortage of food. There was a variety of entertainment everyday which was very good. The beaches and pools are very nice too. The only negative thing about this resort, is the security, as there are people on the beach who say they work for the resort, try and sell you excursion packages, then dont show up after you pay them. Please be aware of a guy named Bruce, as he ripped us off, he also sells shells at the watersports hut. Apparently he is a criminal, most staff at the resort know about him, but they have not arrested him for some reason. I did let guest services know about this and they said they would inform police.

Grand Decameron Panama: Not for English speaking people

Very disappointing. Food was disgusting, rooms had mold in the washrooms. No live music entertainment other than only spanish(no interpreters) for one nightly show which was not worth going to. It would be nice to have options for different age groups and at least a small amount of staff or people to provide french and english to some others that paid a large sum to be there. No water sports at all. Pools we being cleaned during our stay so shut down rather than at night. One pool closed at 530 [... read more]pm. Sunwing was not available. Fly air transat if you go they have a live person. Take the public bus not offered to town and hire a private driver to canal etc so your not disappointed when sunwing cancels for off resort trips 3 days in a row.

Grand Decameron Panama: Disappointed

The best part of this trip was the weather which the resort had nothing to do with. There was a major language barrier and not good signage for English speaking people. Not many activities , the entertainment was not good,spoken almost entirely in Spanish and the food was not very appetizing. Staff was generally unhelpful once a major language barrier.

The grounds are very well kept with maintenance crews always around. Every morning crew was out raking lawns picking up leaves. Pool areas were washed down every night when pools closed. Bathrooms were cleaned through out the day many times. Few toilets had no seat. Wifi in all common areas. Had to be on balcony to get it at room (block2)

We just arrived home from an unforgettable time at the Royal Decameron in Bucerias. It had the right vibe for us, it was not pretentious but absolutely offered what we needed in order to relax and completely enjoy our stay. The rooms and grounds are meticulously kept, and the staff are amazing. The food was very good at the restaurants, and completely decent (at times very good) at the buffets, we did not encounter any stomach issues at all throughout the trip. The shows were entertaining, and the nightclub had it's moments (dead some of the time but occasionally bumping on the dancefloor). The beach is clean, the waves are a good size to play in, and the hotel offers kayaking and paddleboarding. There were just enough chairs for people on the beach, depending on the time of day. There were lots of vendors coming to sell wares at the beach, but they were okay (just be aware). Notable - this is not the most expensive/fancy resort but it has the best location and vibe for enjoying the town of bucerias. The hotel intersects a main road which leads into bucerias and along the way you will find dozens of nice restaurants, live music, art, a market, and a very hip scene for travellers to check out. 3 blocks up the hill from the hotel is the mexican big box store called Chedrauis and you can pick up anything you need there for fair prices, as well as a bank across the road to exchange and get change for tips. We noticed that the other guests had floaty mattresses that they would put onto the loungers to give them more cushioning - they were after all hard plastic (clean though) - you may want to buy one of these or if you're lucky someone leaving may give you theirs when they go. If you're looking for the best burger in bucerias its a 15 minute walk to a place called the Burguer Lab - its a hole in the wall, but the best burger, brought a tear to our eyes. Kensho was another nearby restaurant which we loved, they had an excellent pad thai and mussels. Many excellent choices for whatever cuisine you'd like, within walking distance. We were able to relax and rejeuvenate at the resort, we were treated well, we ate well and really enjoyed the proximity to the action in bucerias. Grand Muthu Runaway Bay Club Caribbean: Decameron runaway Bay

Hotel was dated and need some up grades. It's quite rustic for people wanting to just get away relax and have fun and enjoy the cats around the compound. As far as the staff on the property very nice from the guests service check-in to the restaurants the bar big up to Delroy very nice young man was always smiling always happy watching your drinks. Language is a problem here. Spanish is preferred and treated with priority. Rooms are ok but dated, there are no coffee machines in room have to go to lobby if you want in room. Food is not that great but eatable if you don’t mind lukewarm and small selection same six things on both sides of buffet table. Alacart food is ok but not fantastic. Grand Decameron Panama: Royal Decameron

I was extremely disappointed with our trip to the Royal Decameron this time. We have booked there 3 times previously and enjoyed the resort. This time we found a rusted mini fridge in our room that was completely empty. It was advertised in you web site that there was a mini fridge in each room. It was fully stocked in our previous visits. Also there was no coffee making machines in the rooms. This was also a first. The site itself was very good and the staff very friendly. Grand Decameron Montego Beach: Absolutely the worst !!!

My husband and I have vacationed in many countries and resorts. This was truly the worst experience we have ever had to endure. We arrived at the Grand Decameron Montego Beach around 6pm, tired and hungry. We were greeted by a less than welcoming front desk employee, given our keys and a pamphlet telling us where everything is. No personal information given, no tour, just a man to help with luggage to our room. Following this we had to find where the buffet was, so we could have supper. Our ro [... read more]om was adjacent to the pool and the swim up bar, which turned out to be the worst spot, as the entertainment guy was so loud over his loudspeaker that we often had to go into our room to converse, as we had to yell at each other to be heard. Complaints to the front desk went unheard, and it continued thru out our 2 weeks there. A very surly front desk person told my husband " move or get use to it". We were advised by other guests to not move, as they received a room so full of mold, their daughter was unable to remain there due to her asthma. The internet display of this hotel states there were 4 A La cart restaurants, there is only ONE, with a very limited menu. They also say they have a spa.... but the hot tub didn't work. The crushed ice machines didn't work in 2 of the 3 bars, so your drink options were limited. On day 3 of our "vacation" a woman overdosed by the pool, requiring medical attention. For this I give the resort nurse kudos, as she did an excellent job giving CPR and using the ECD. By day three, we had not had any room service. Once again, I had to walk to the front desk and complain. Eventually that day we did get someone to come, and left us ONE bath towel for the two of us. The next day , out of complete frustration with the guest services person, I walked over to the other Decameron so I could speak to the Sunwing rep. It was her day off, but the front desk staff called her at home. I explained our frustration, breaking down in tears. ( I had to walk over to the other decameron, as we still didn't have a phone in our room after 4 days) The manager for that building heard me on the phone and asked to talk to me following my call. The sunwing rep was not helpful. He took me back to our resort in a cab, spoke to the entertainment people to turn down the music, got us towels, and told us to call the front desk if the entertainment people increased the volume. This was much appreciated, especially the cab ride, because I am only able to walk short distances due to medical reasons. Calling the front desk was ineffective after he left, and as stated before, we were told to move or get use to it. The Buffet needs to be addressed also..... The food was bland, and often the steam tables were empty after only a sort time that you signed into the buffet with your room number and your name, which we found weird at best. Christmas was a disappointment, with nothing special, other than some Christmas carols playing in the lobby. They did serve turkey on Christmas eve, but the vegetables were all gone, and there were tiny roast potatoes. No glasses for juice, and we finished our meal before anyone gave us water. This was a common problem in the buffet,and was always met with " we are short staffed". The was a gentleman that went around inspecting, everything, admonishing the serving staff in front of all the guests. Very uncomfortable for everyone, I'm sure. There is no Sunwing rep or any other rep at this resort. You have to go to the other Decameron for any assistance. I really did have to give myself a week to stop being so angry and disappointed to write this. Everyday was tears, everyday it was something else not working (hot water ) (door lock) we couldn't wait to come home. I did try with sunwing to come home early, but there was no availability other than the flight we were already book on. When at the airport a young man that helped me with wheelchair transfer to our gate informed me that this hotel had recently been on strike. Not surprising.
