Thanks Karol. You were a total star throughout the entire process and ALL my questions. This was my third trip to this hotel since May 2019. New management have really improved the place. All buildings have been painted, foods better. Animation team are outstanding. Amazing people.

Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Quiet week

We stayed in a wooden bungalow with a nice view of the ocean. The resort was half empty during our stay so it was very quiet. The food was typical Cuban fare but there was a decent selection so we never went hungry. The staff were excellent and the check in check out process was painless. Our flight arrived a bit late and they kept the buffet open so we could eat when we arrived.

Hotel Villa Cuba: Not disappointed

I did not have any expectations when we booked this hotel, it was New years and we booked on price. It was clean and staff helpful and friendly. There was always something to eat and my husband and I enjoyed the 2 a la carte restaurants. There is a local bus that runs downtown from the hotel for a few dollars - that was convenient. Would I stay here again- only if the price was right. I know Be Live has recently taken over this hotel so maybe improvements are in the works. We took a day trip in [... read more]to Havana ( booked thru Sunwing on the plane) they delivered what they promised, however I wish we had more free time so keep that in mind when you are book a day trip. The guide kept us moving for the whole day and there is very little time to go off by yourself. I do love CUBA- the beach is wonderful, it's safe, people are friendly.

Club Kawama: This was not the resort for us

My wife went to Club Kawama Dec 23, 2019. for one week. The hotel inflated there price for the xmas holidays as do the rest of the resorts. The room they gave us on arrival was at the furthest point away from the lobby. The room was completely stripped . There was no bed spreads. no lamp shades. no remote for the TV, no remote fore the AC unit, no shower curtain, the window locks were broken, no phone, and there was no hot water. The general condition of the room was poor. this room was uninhabi [... read more]table. We went to the front desk to ask for another room and were told to come back at 11:00 am the next day. The next day we went to the Hola tour rep. (josa), and explained the condition of the room. Josa went to the resort manager and arranged another room. The room they took us to was closer to the lobby and in better condition, but there was no phone and no water at all. So, Back to the manager again. Finally they put us in a room that had the essentials in it but still no phone. apparently there are no phones in any of the rooms at this hotel. The next problem was getting fresh towels. we only got fresh towels every two days. The food was good if they didn't run out. The buffet restaurant was to small for the amount of guests they have. They purchased the resorts on ether side of them and closed those buffet restaurants. You had to line up just to get in the buffet, they would let so many guest in, then close and lock the door until more room came available. There was only one cook station and lineups were long. they ran out of food constantly. there was no butter at all, they just didn't have it. The Italian restaurant had no pasta at all. We have been to Cube 11 times and it is to be expected that things are not always perfect, and we are not overly fussy but this place is bad.

Roc Barlovento: Need Improvement...

Resort is not well maintained. A lot of things needs to be replaced. Example: The electricity outlet in the bathroom was broken. The door lock was loose. There as no phone in the bedroom: safety issue....No paper towels or soaps in the bathrooms in the resorts. The Courtesy room is disgusting and has no lights...etc... We bought the Roc Plus option. Not worth it:You have your Beach towel in the room (instead of taking it at the pool...really!!), a bottle of water in the bedroom each day and a b [... read more]ottle of rhum when you leave...they put a mini fridge in the bedroom but there is nothing in it...there is a section at the beach but not enough chairs...we were not able to go in that section for the whole week... The inclusive and Roc Plus DOES NOT included the safety box and the internet. You have to pay for this. There are basically NO activities/entertaining during the day. Only the show at the theater at night. The positive : The beach is beautiful with a lot of shade. It is easy to have a tour of catamaran.

Club Kawama: Amazing Vacation!

I am going to leave an honest review as I read many conflicting reviews before I stayed at the resort. First thing the food is not that bad. I have been to Cuba in the past (5 star) and the food was better here. Yes you might have to look around the buffet a bit, but I did not starve. The specialty restaurants were great, especially the Italian. The grounds are beautiful. When booking you have to remember you are staying at the oldest resort in Varadero. I didn't realize the size of the resort until I arrived, it is approximately 5 blocks long, so this is going to take some time to complete. You can see the work that has already gone into the restoration and that is still going in. I did read a comment regarding pillows, we did take our own, but during the week our pillows were replaced with new ones, that were just like the ones we brought from home. Overall the grounds and building are absolutely beautiful and full of character. Once the restoration is complete this will be an absolute favorite of mine. Another comment I had seen was regarding staff. The bartenders, bell boys, security staff and the maintenance staff were great. Very friendly and willing to help with anything or just have a chat. The restaurant staff were my favorite. The only complaint I really have is the front desk staff. They were rude and made you feel like you were an inconvenience to them. I only had one good experience with the front desk staff with Vivian. Overall I would return to the hotel, we had an amazing vacation!

Club Kawama: Club Kawama

The grounds were great well maintain, the Staff are incredible very friendly.... The reservations to Restaurants was amazing. My room was alright but would of preferred nicer one. Love the beach 🏖.

Hotel Villa Cuba: The resort offered a lot for the price we paid.

We loved the Resort because it's clean and with in walking distence of Varadero. They are constantly cleaning day and night. The landscapers are at work daily. Always plenty to eat at the Buffet and don't forget to book your special dinner nights. We also enjoyed the nightly entertainment and that fact they occasionally include the audience.

Roc Barlovento: Resort has potential

We had no (very cold in fact!) hot water for 5 days!! Food was absolutely terrible- and cold and we did not have high expectations- having been to Cuba many times. The grounds could be nice with a little TLC- we came back sick wondering if some of that is not because of improper sanitation of dishes due to lAck of hot water. Talked to a few ppl who had been to that resort many times but said they would never return as it had gone badly down hill- soooo disappointed overall

Club Kawama: Like home away from home!

Hotel Kawama is one of the oldest resorts on the beach in Varadero. It has history and character and has sprawling grounds and about a kilometre of beach. Things are generally well-looked after, clean and maintained (a few missing lightbulbs here and there don’t bother me). The staff are mostly long-time employees and are like a big family. They treat guests very well and will go above and beyond if you are genuinely friendly and courteous to them. They work hard with limited means. The fo [... read more]od is great here with lots of options at each meal. I’ve been to many resorts in Cuba and this is by far the best for service, staff, location and food. I love that it is mostly quiet (no late disco) and there are always loungers on the beach in the shade. The pools are a great option when waves are high. Walkable distance to the markets and several nice restaurants as well. I will be back! *pack things to give away when you go! Toys, tools, sports balls, clothing, shoes (runners especially). :)

Roc Barlovento: Third time...we love it...

The staff is very friendly and helpful...the food selection is excellent...personally I love fresh vegetables and there are always plenty...the grounds are well tended and the beach is a dream....rooms are clean and comfy...the only drawback is,Overconsumption off alcohol ....since alcohol is free at any time off the day and night,people are abusing the generosity of the Cubans....personally I feel alcohol should not be included in the all inclusive....

Club Kawama: Good time- Great people

Rooms were clean, you may want to bring a pillow, not the fluffiest I've seen. Very poor selection of food in the buffet..but lets face it, were not there for the food..lol Grounds were kept clean. Resort ran out of towels one day- not sure why? The Staff, always very nice.. This is my 2nd time at this resort.. Hotel Villa Cuba: Great Time at Be Live Varadero

Hotel was fun. Typical day, get up late around 7 to 8 go to the coffee bar, buffet, lather up and head to the beach. After enjoying the most beautiful beach in the world, shower, buffet, pool bar, entertainment, visit with new friends, people watch, bed and repeat. All days were not typical as there was the hop on and off bus days with Varadero town restaurants, more people watching and the list goes on and on, just try it and you will see.

Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Not bad for price but lacking in some ways

The hotel itself was not the most modern had a few problems with septic and little black bugs in the room , but the staff was very very friendly , advertised on website were non motorized water sports included well supersize supersize one hr of kite surfing is 150.00 insane price 70 cuc to rent a catamaran and 40 cuc to rent a kayak not a darn thing free except beach towel ,. anything you want to do for fun to go see or to do cost a fortune kinda messed up seeing its a poor country o [... read more]ne would think price would be much much less ,aside from that the food was decent not top shelf but okay .

Club Kawama: Small, not too busy, and nice beach

Overall good for price and season we went in. Travelled with my parents, wife and 2 year old. Food can be a bit cold. Beach is beautiful and property well maintained. Rooms are not the best but equipped with fridge and air conditioning. Servers and management was great.

Roc Barlovento: Very good hotel

Grounds are very well kept & food was decent for a 3.5 star in Cuba lots of variety.pool & beach we;re excellent. Wait Staff was also very good with excellent service & always friendly greetings.Cons:Staff in general on the Front Desk we;re not very helpful on getting 2 smaller problems with room resolved . Went to front desk 3 times for these items but no luck.This is an area that could use some improvement. Overall very happy with the resort & definitely will return.Kudos to the management.

Roc Barlovento: Nice Resort

Enjoyed our stay at Barlovento, great location, very good service at the bars and dining room. We did not like the Mexican & Fusion restaurants, service was poor and food was cold. Great beach makes up for the small flaws.

Roc Barlovento: Very nice Clean Resort

We thought overall it was very good, the beach and ocean was excellent although the swimming pools were on the cold side. The beds were comfortable but the room itself had an oily smell sometimes, they said it was from the oil refinery and it all depended on which way the wind was blowing. The staff were very friendly and the entertainment was excellent. As for the food, my wife and I did have a problem, but the couple we travelled with did not.
