Hilton Curacao: Outdated from the inside but great ambience!

Inside need greater improvement, much of the facility is a bit outdated coming from Curacao born native. The outside facility is impeccable and we highly enjoy the Ocean front beach which has a serene boardwalk around the shore... breathtaking views steps from next to Marriott Hotel!

Elara Hilton Grand Vacations Hotel Center Strip: Best hotel for value!

This is the second time i've stayed here. First was with wife and son, and it was great for a family. Second time was with friend and brother, and was great for partying! Will hopefully be going back a third time with family again this year!

Secrets Papagayo Resort: Cozy resort, beautiful sunshine, friendly staff

This resort is fairly small and a bit more rustic or natural than some. It is quite beautiful with comfortable, well appointed rooms and clean, well-kept grounds. The staff go out of their way to provide good service. The weather is predictably hot and sunny each and every day. Although the menu selection across restaurants is not huge every meal was tasty. The wildlife right on the resort property is fun to see!

The service was amazing, the beach was good, food was so so!! Love the location between the Malecon and the airport, ocean grill and Le Cliffe was amazing food and next to a beautiful beach, weather was perfect every day

Hilton Curacao: Wonderful hotel - would return !

I agree with most reviewers : this hotel is much better than it might "look" judging by its exterior ! While everything is maintained well and certainly in working order the hotel looks a little dated and the building itself doesn't have the "old style" charm of the many old Plantation buildings - nor is it a sleek new and modern one. However, looking past the exterior the property is amazing. Do take a room with the ocean view. We also paid for the upgrade to Executive level. That gets you a ro [... read more]om with a view on the 5th floor - and it is worth every penny just for the view alone. Waking up to it daily was priceless. The grounds below include a free form meandering pool with an infinity pool at the end - I cannot find words to adequately describe it. Lounge chairs line the pool but are not "packed in tight". In fact it was one of the great unexpected plusses to find that one never had to "rush" down first thing in the morning to reserve a spot - there were always spots available. We also enjoyed the executive lounge though breakfast was very standard and never seemed to vary. Fruits and cold cuts were good though and overall it was fine with us. Happy hour in the lounge was also a "bonus" - especially as it offered the possibility of having a nice glass of wine or two at an affordable rate . The appetizers were a bit underwhelming and also didn't vary much - but we still appreciated the comforts of the lounge and the always smiling and helpful hostess in charge . The restaurants are dotted about the grounds : Bligh's Bar near the lobby area ( favorite Pina Colada on the island !), Cielo, the fine dining restaurant in a separate area "under the stars ", Aqua - the breakfast spot for those not having chosen the executive lounge option, and Celeste, the casual lunch/dinner spot - this was our favorite in every regard. It sports a wavy , breezy canvas "canopy", white and turquoise tables and chairs and white patio umbrellas outside of the canopy. It is a classy patio style restaurant with a nice menu. Always fresh and well prepared food that is not cheap but didn't give us sticker shock either. On Sundays there is an all-you-can-eat beach BBQ buffet for just under $30 per person - which was very good value as it turns out. Most entrees run $24-30 anyway and an appetizer is easily $9-14. Drinks are very expensive by our standards and my husband was frustrated with the tiny size of bottled beer - with the high price ! The hotel has a shuttle service into town twice a day - it can be difficult to get a spot on this shuttle ( place for only 12 ). Do book as far ahead of time as possible. Finally the room : it was very spacious and comfortable. Everything was in working order. I thought I had understood there to be a shower as well as a tub but there was only shower ( I am a "tub" person !). Toiletries could have been of a slightly better quality - and we usually had to ask for extra as the amounts were smallish. The guest services book promises bath robes for this level room but though we asked for them we never got any.We never had any problem getting the additional toiletries, though. The furniture was a bit "banged up" in places and the carpet had seen better days - but it was not something that marred the experience - only suggested that perhaps it is time for this beautiful property to get a facelift. There is a small fridge in the room ( not stocked ) which came in handy. We would return to this particular hotel, room 523 and take the Executive Plus package anytime we return to Curacao !

Krystal Grand Puerto Vallarta: Very Small

Didn't enjoy not having a chair at the pool. Played the towel game in the morning and when I came back from breakfast someone had taken our towel and personal belongings off and took the chairs, right in front of the security guard. The buffet was the smallest and worst I have ever experienced in 25 years of going to Mexico. The front desk told you whatever came to their minds depending on their moods. so had to go back several times to find the truth about several matters. They wanted to take o [... read more]ur bracelets off at noon when we had to check out even though we were not being picked up until 6PM. Then rooms need some TLC as maintenance is not a priority. Not going back. Only redeeming feature was the a la cartes, they were good.

Krystal Grand Puerto Vallarta: Met our needs

Modern and attractive hotel. The room was spacious and comfortable. The food was hit and miss as was the service. The Brazilian restaurant, Fogo, was very good as was the French restaurant. The Mexican restaurant was okay. There was no nightly entertainment and this was a complaint among several other guests as well. The beach was nice but there were some rocky sand parts that were hard to walk on. We really enjoyed the adults only rooftop lounge where we spent most of our time.

Krystal Grand Puerto Vallarta: Ok resort, not what I expected

Very small, fight for a chair at the pool. Maintenance of the rooms could use some looking into. Not the level you would expect from a Hilton. A la carte restaurants were a redeeming feature, thankfully you could go to one every night. Supper was the worst meal at the buffet which was very small and average at best.

Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach: Amazing Honeymoon Spot

The Hilton Hawaiian Village Resort was my home for my honeymoon. I loved the ocean view and being able to watch the surfers on Waikiki Beach every morning! Our room was very 'roomy' with lots of storage space, a balcony whereby we could sit and have a coffee or drink, and the room even had a coffee maker and small frig to store small food items. We were able to walk to a variety of restaurants and shopping from the resort AND we also were able to take the bus and trolleys to various attractions, [... read more] very easy to navigate ourselves. The resort had lots of swimming options, pools, a lagoon and ocean. We also loved seeing the fish and turtles that were in various ponds around the resort. Loved our stay at the resort!!

Krystal Grand Puerto Vallarta: Beautiful resort

Overall, the resort was great! It is quite new and modern, with great amenities. There are two connected pools at beach level, with ample seating around the pool, and lots of beach front chairs. The beach itself was very beautiful- we had perfect, sunny weather every day, and the ocean was warm and very swim-able. There were lots of beach vendors, but they weren't too pushy, and weren't any worse than anywhere else in Puerto Vallarta. The service was quite good- everyone working at the resort is very friendly, and will go out of their way to make sure you have a great trip. Make sure you tip, as everyone working here deserves it very much for their hard work. The biggest disappointment for me was the food. It was very North American, and frankly quite bland, especially at te buffet. It was a lot of cold cuts, salad bar, instant mashed potatoes, pasta and meats in gravy type of meals. It would have been awesome to have more authentic local food options, and I was also quite surprised at the lack of seafood. I've stayed at other resorts in Puerto Vallarta which weren't as nice as the Hilton, but I found the food at the other resorts to be far superior. The resort restaurants were slightly better than the buffet, but still nothing great. We definitely enjoyed the best meals of our trip in town... Which conveniently is a short bus or taxi ride from the resort. If it wasn't for the food, I'd give the Hilton 5 stars. Overall, it was a really great trip and a beautiful resort.

Krystal Grand Puerto Vallarta: Wow, The Best Ever

Arrived for a two week stay on Marh 27th from Canada and was gracefully greeted by the front desk staff, all very helpful, friendly and polite. Concierge escorted us with our luggage to our room after a very quick check in. He was exteremly helpful showing us how the a/c worked and offered his services. We pointed out to him that the recepticle and switch plates were off and he said he would let maintenance know; obviously room was freshly painted. To our surprise they were put on the next morni [... read more]ng. Room was very clean with plently of towels, king sized bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was a bit open concept, but was OK with us. The toilet area was a bit cramped as it was seperate with a glass door which actually touched my knees. Room was cleaned to an exceptional standard daily with nothing overlooked. Our room view was not the greatest but I wasn't there to be in the room other than sleep/shower etc. We came back to our room one evening to find the fan on, mystery, a few days later fan off, mystery. Could nevery figure out how to turn it on. Last night we were there it was very hot in the room, a/c didnèt seem to be working great so by midnight called the front desk and they said we should have a remote but no where to be found. Within 10-15 mins maintenance was at the door. Apparently the fan was broke and he said couldnèt fix it till next day but would hard wire it to stay on if it was OK with us, sure was. The Fogo (buffet) was great, I have never had buffet style food that was so good, always something new every day. The salad bar selection was always fresh and agood variety. Diningroom staff were all very attentive, friendly and accommodating especially Gabrielle (hope I got his name right). He very quickly learned what we liked and would immediately see we had what we needed; always smiling and friendly. We tried the Brazilian restaurant on two occassions and it was great, our waiter Manuel was fantastic making our evening so enjoyable. The food was really good and we chose to come back a second time. We never tried the other two resturants.The Fogo was good and I always found something that I enjoyed and the staff were great. The fast food place on the beach was just OK, think it could have offered a bit more variety; their bar/beach service was hit and miss. Depended on how was giving the biggest tip who got the service. The pools were nice but too warm, cooler would have been more refreshing. Our stay carried into Holy week so resort got very busy and included a ton of children so we opted to us the adult pool/sushi bar. Esmeralda and Manuel (the same Manuel from the Brazilian resturant) were the best; they made everyday that we were there unforgetable, never having to ask for a refill, they would always see we had a refill. The Hilton should be proud to have employees like these two, they make a vacation much more than what you would expect. Thanks guys for the wonderful time. The pool was a bit too warm as well but refreshing in the heat in the PV. Unfortunately my skin is very sensitive to chlorine so after 3-4 days using the pool I got a rash and had to spend some time in the salt water and on the beach. Sand on the beach is somewhat more coarse and darker than the Playa del Carmen area and the water was way rougher. Plenty of beach to walk though and without the seaweed and was always quite clean. Beach chairs were plentiful except during the first part of Holy week. Never had an issue getting a beach towel though. Overall this is the best AI I have stayed at and I have been traveling since 1999 and even stayed at a Sandals and found the service here much bettter.I would definately stay here again and do plan to do so and bring the family with us next year. One recomendation there is no clock anywhere in the lobby area, lots of people were always asking for the time, simple and cheap fix.

Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach: Amazing Resort

We really love this Hotel resort, it is amazing fantastic place that we have been and the areas are very clean and swimming pools are very clean and warm water. We will love to go back here again and will bring our family with us to share the nice resort.

Secrets Papagayo Resort: Great atmosphere, friendly staff.

We stayed at this resort a few years ago and liked it so much we came back. Buildings and grounds could use some work but the staff, food and drink were still excellent. Julio deserves special mention, very helpful and an all around super guy. Be prepared for things to take a bit longer. Remember to relax, you're on "Costa Rica time". This is a very quiet resort. We rented a car from the Alamo desk in the lobby and drove to Playa Grande and Tamarindo. Stunning beach and great taco's at Taco Star in Playa Grande. Tamarindo was busy... I think Coco beach is nicer if you want to hit the shops. Resort was sold while we were there so it will probably get the needed facelift. I hope the price stays reasonable so we can go back!

Krystal Grand Puerto Vallarta: Different but Wonderful

Modern good size rooms, beautiful adjoining pools and a fantastic rooftop infinity pool make this a great place to stay. Though smaller than most all inclusive resorts, the excellent service surely made up for it. Friendly efficient bellboy service, courteous front desk personnel, regular room cleaning and fridge restocking are all part of the package of this smaller resort. A smaller buffet offers Mexican and American far and yes you can get made to order eggs.. A great snack buffet overlooking [... read more] the ocean (great hamburgers) changes to a Brazilian a la carte. We were able to get reservations at the a la carte restaurants (French, Mexican, and Brazilian) each evening and could call the concierge from our room. Very little entertainment in the evenings but Mall and downtown Puerto Vallarta nearby. We really enjoyed our stay. Will return.

My husband and I spent a wonderful 10 days in the Hilton Puerto Vallarta. Walking in to the lobby and seeing the ocean and gardens as we were checking in was exciting as we had come from "cold, rainy Canada" that morning. The infinity pools and the area around them were most inviting and we spent the rest of the afternoon enjoying them. Krystal Grand Puerto Vallarta: Good resort in all respects but one

Resort is set well back from the main roads in Puerto Vallarta and as a result the setting is quiet. Set on a nice stretch of beach suitable for long walks. We swam in the ocean as well as the pools which were great. Rooms are well laid out. Food is very good - always something healthy to choose from - fish and good selection of salads and fruit. Staff are very friendly and fast. The fitness facility was excellent - all equipment in good shape and relatively new. Big negative for us - We reques [... read more]ted a new room after the first night due to a foul odour coming up through the shower drain. Initially, the second room was fine but then we found a similar odour coming from the AC vent. We had to open the patio doors and have the ceiling fan on high for an hour or so to eliminate the smell. The problems were reported to the hotel staff but I suspect this may have been a problem with more than just the 2 rooms we had. Our overall rating is only "fair" based solely on the issue with the odour in the rooms.

Secrets Papagayo Resort: beautiful resort

A beautiful place to relax and enjoy the amazing scenery. The grounds are kept extremely clean and we were able too see monkeys and equanas right at the resort. The food was really good and we will certinaly revisit in the future

The Hilton Papagayo was absolutely beautiful. The resort was amazing. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and really nice as they are little villas. Food was amazing, every meal was something new and yummy. Beach and pool fabulous. Tours offered were amazing and alot of fun. Over whole had my husband and I Had an amzing time and can't wait to go back.

Krystal Grand Puerto Vallarta: Good small quiet resort

This resort was overall quite good. It is small and quiet with, in my opinion, better than average food. The food choices are limited. Close to the airport and downtown. 7.5 pesos for bus to downtown or 65 pesos for a cab. Our room was great with a partial ocean view but one of the other guests told us that their room smelled of sewar or mold. The staff were fantastic. Not the place to go if you are looking for a party.
