Rex Papillon: Quiet and lovely!

Enjoyed this resort to the fullest. Sadly, we discovered a la carte on our last two night so ate at each only once. Delicious! Best restaurant dining I've had at an all-inclusive. Buffet was smaller with less selection than most resorts but in keeping with other Rex properties we've visited, we found the selection to be fresh and flavourful. Staff both friendly and respectful. Rooms very clean. A thoughtful note with a bottle of wine and decorated bed to celebrate our honeymoon were most appreci [... read more]ated. Lovely sandy beach. Unable to comment on entertainment as we are early risers and generally skip any nighttime shows.

Rex Papillon: Great resort!!!!

We just returned from the Papillon by Rex resort 2days ago. This is our forth time to aRex resort but first time in St. Lucia and the best by far. The ride to the resort took 1.5 hrs. However the ride was scenic and educational since you get to learn so much about this beautiful gem of a country. You even get to cut through the rain forest. We [... read more] were taken to our room on block 2 rm.210, to our surprise we were upgraded to a full seaview room. We woke up every morning to the waves of the sea and beautiful view. Room was very clean with all the amenities. For the whole entire week we had no dissatisfaction whatsoever about anything. Everyone tried to please you any way they could. Food was great, we were very happy with the food choices. The bars seemed to be allright since we only used it for nonalchoholic drinks. The beach grill is a great touch. Everyone is so attentive from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave. Do make certain that you take a 220V transformer along with the special UK adaptor otherwise you have to have a 400$ deposit on your acct.and return it before you leave to have your deposit returned. We spent a beautiful week at this resort for a special occasion(25 wedding aniversary). The beach is soooo clean with enough chairs and umbrellas for everyone. Everyone is nice and very helpful. Over all it was an amazing week for us. I would definetely recommend this resort since it was recently renovated ,the grounds are beautifully manicured and a long fine sandy beach that you can go for a walk or a run. JUST AMAZING (value for the price paid!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Rex Papillon: Amazing resort

Staff was exceptional.Grounds were very well kept.Ocean was directly in front of resort.Great food each day.View was spectacular.As pictured.I will return to the Rex Papillon again.Beautiful.Many shops and restaurants in Rodney Bay,just a block away.My sister and I were only staying for one week and extended our stay for an additional week,at a very good rate as well.

Rex St Lucian: Great vacation

For a no frills hotel, we were quite comfortable. The room and facilities were clean and were kept clean during the day. The staff (from maintenance to administration) were all respectful and welcoming. I was impressed that no one passed without saying good day. The food was varied and flavourful with an infusion of culture at every meal, yum.

Rex Papillon: Nice resort

Nice hotel- Grounds and rooms clean. Buffet average. Beach snack bar good. A la cartes were good. Beach nice. Island is beautiful. Not much to do on resort. Only 20 other couples. One night of entertainment. Paid less than $1000 each. Would of been disappointed if we spent more than that. Would recommend but would not visit again.

Rex Papillon: Paradise in St. Lucia

Food was amazing - different soup and main course every dinner. Chefs cook with spice and flavour. Room was great, clean and spacious. Beautiful beach right there and snorkelling was amazing right off the beach. Make sure you have a massage with Spencer - he is excellent. Staff was friendly and helpful. Great location - short stroll into Rodney Bay. Take local bus into Castries or rent a car nearby to explore the beautiful island.

Royalton CHIC Antigua: Amaizing! Clean, Safe, Nice People, Delicious Food

This hotel is clean, well maintained, easy access to all facilities. Always a different place to have either breakfast, lunch or dinner. Staff are always ready to help, they are patient and try to make you feel welcomed. The beach is clean to what is humanly possible , there is however some smoker who throw cigarettes butts to the beach. Unfortunately, staff have to bend their backs to clean the mess. If you happen to check the weather report before you arrive and see thunder storms, do not panic. The rain if few, warm and you can enjoy it even while you are on the beach bed or in the water. We did it! Going on the tours is something to take advantage of. We had great tours around the island and went to Barbuda, a little extension of paradise. The ferry which bring you there is a little bit hard on your back as it jumps the two out of the three hours of trip length. But hey, worth it! Some tips, bring a cushion, bring some chips and packed food, change many one dollar bills for the tips prior trip, the banks have change but the lines are long. Overall, well recommended, bring yourself, your spouse and your children. It is a beautiful place to give yourselves a prize from your hard work.

Rex Papillon: Awesome Trip

Went on a very last minute vacation to the Papillon. Its a small resort with 110 rooms. I was told by the travel agent that it was small and not to expect a large marble, shiney, glitzy entrance and he was right. It was small but, lovely and clean and the staff were amazing. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The resort was only maybe a third full so there was no problem with pool towels, chairs around the pool or on the beach. The beach was lovely and very clean. The rooms have been renovat [... read more]ed and are spacious and very clean. The bathroom was only small but worked for us. We had a room with a shower and no bath. The sheets and towels were changed everyday. The buffet resturant was very nice and the food was very good. The Italian resturant was not my favorite but it was o.k. They really need some decorations in the resturant as it was very stark and had no atmosphere. The Asian resturant next door at the sister resort was very good and we ate there twice. All in all we had a great time, met lots of lovely people and would go back in a heart beat. The only complaint I might have is the long and winding roads to get to the resort from the airport. Rex St Lucian: Great Location

This hotel has a great location right on Redditt Beach, however the hotel needs some TLC , it looks tired, the room was OK, room 406, ,the AC worked well, however the bed was hard with an old mattress with coils that protruded through in some spots , the bathroom fixtures had been updated , but new tiles and grout did not match the old . The fan in the bathroom did not have a screen on it so the mosquito's and No see ums had easy access . The buffet restaurant was quite small , but that wasn't really an issue as the hotel was very quiet. The food was typically Caribbean which for us was not a problem, we only saw French fries once during our week which was great !!!. The choices of dishes at times left one wondering what to have to eat, however the salads were wonderful. We were able to get a last minute deal, we wouldn't pay full brochure prices for this hotel.

Rex Papillon: Amazing stay!

Very cute very well kept little resort for a great relaxing time. Food could've catered a bit more for vegetarian eating. The staff was amazing and incredibly friendly. The ocean and the beautiful he's we're incredible and very very enjoyable. Deff recommend great price for a great place in the caribbean.

We booked this hotel last minute and loved it! The staff, the location in Rodney Bay were excellent. Would go back and would also recommend this spot to anyone wanting a relaxing holiday that is also close to nightlife, shops and restaurants. The beach is lovely, can walk for quite a distance down the beach. The water is super clean and no sea weed or rocks. Can't say enough about the staff. Lesley at the swim up bar was a lovely personable young lady who took care of everyone with a smile.  [... read more]It was nice to see the management everyday interacting with the guests, makes for a well run hotel!

Royalton Grenada Resort and Spa: ENCHANTING HOLIDAY IN GRENADA

Booked a beachfront room, 50 steps from the ocean. Dining room close by for an excellent buffet, every day. Great wine & coffee!!! Personnel always eager to make us feel at home. Great sandy beach...no need for water shoes. Take island tour to get the feel of island.

Royalton CHIC Antigua: Great Value

There are three things that I personally expect from a vacation. Good food, a beautiful beach and a comfortable bed to sleep in. The Rex met all of my expectations. Yes the buildings are old so it's not a palace, but my husband and I don't care about that. Management and staff work really hard at making the best of what they've got; for example, changing the colours and patterns of the table cloths in the main dining room. Royalton CHIC Antigua: FANTASTIC VACATION

This resort was amazing. My husband and I traveled with my two sisters. We were booked in on the ground floor #231 and #236 not side by side but great. We met amazing staff and the group of vacationers were in our age group,(48-65) very few kids. Drinks at the bar were extensive for a all inclusive hotel. Black russians, margaritas, etc. Yes our room was dated (bamboo, not so bad) and was cleaned to perfection when we wanted it to be. The water and the beach was amazing. Plenty of lounges! The staff gets an A for amazing. We felt right at home when Dwayne greeted us with cold drinks while we were checking in. He was very helpful and welcoming. The staff was wonderful!! Great stay for our family including our two grand- daughters(one and two years old). The front desk staff were amazing especially in their prompt effort in helping us to locate a doctor in finding a doctor to get some medication for our son. The grounds were beautiful and well kept. Rex St Lucian: Nice Resort

The Rex is a nice small hotel. The staff are pleasant, rooms are clean and the food is good. The location is fantastic. Our kids enjoyed the beach and the pool. The resort has a cottage feel which we appreciate.

Rex St Lucian: GOOD FOR PRICE

Room was spacious with a big balcony, but bathroom requires a facelift. Hotel was clean and the personnel was nice. Sea has almost no waves and you can swim like in a pool. Some nights there was too much noise until 2 am from outside the resort. Once there was no water for a few hours and once there was no power for an hour or two.

Royalton Grenada Resort and Spa: Beautiful beach front spot

The Hotel was older but clean and comfortable. All staff were pleasant and h=generally helpful although their response to my husband severely scraping his arm on a bush was too nonchalant (Raoul, our Island tour guide the following day, was very helpful and appropriately concerned that we go to a nearby health clinic). There were only limited choices for meals, buffet & 1 a la carte restaurant for supper, and only poolside for lunch. If you are looking for a quiet beach front holiday this is the spot for you but if you want action and night life look elsewhere. There were not a lot of activities and the gym really was not enticing. The in house entertainment featuring Grenadian dancing and drums was fantastic, the steel drum band was good, I could have done without the Karaoke and the DJ but other guests seemed to like it - there was no place else to go for a quiet drink on those evenings - so it was grin and bear it or carry out in a plastic cup and sit on a lounger down at the beach.

Royalton CHIC Antigua: Good resort for the money

Resort is very tired, but the staff , with the exception of front desk (very rude), food & drink, beach are all very good. Rooms are large and cleaned daily. Only one ala carte restaurant which is only open 3 days/week.

Rex Papillon: great time

The hotel,rooms, food , and resort in general were fantastic. Small and easy to get around. The people working there were great! St Lucia is beautiful and you can walk down the street outside the resort with no problem.
