Melia Marina Varadero: Enjoyable Resort

Our stay was most enjoyable. Friendly staff. Good service. Good entertainment and a wide variety of food. The served meals in the International Room and Tex-Mex room were beautifully presented and very tasty. We plan to return!

Melia Cayo Coco: Highly Recommended

Melia Cayo Coco is a beautiful resort. The grounds are well-kept, the beach is free of seaweed and the rooms are cleaned daily. There are several bars and restaurants. There are plenty of lounge chairs at the pool and the beach. Staff are friendly and helpful.

This hotel is really good, everyone is very friendly and we did not go without anything the whole time we spent here. Food and drinks were good, people were awesome and the hotel is very clean. No complaints!!

It was an excellent week of relaxation/ the staff was wonderful the facility was small but well maintained and the food was good with lots of variety/the room was spacious and well equipped but a little tired with some of those typical issues you find in Cuba (like intermittent hot water)

Sol Caribe Beach: Ok for Cuba

We only had good care in our room from the maidens the first 2 days, even after leaving tips every day we finished by having to go ask for a broom to clean our floors, had to ask to change our towels even if they were on the floor/wet. Food was basic, nothing special. Even the menu a la carte was deceiving, from small tiny portions, to having to book 24hours in advance. The positive was the beach, and the bartenders were really nice and thoughtful. The gym is nothing like showed on the site, no  [... read more]weights for the smith machine and only 2 45lb dumbbells! Would recommend if you will go out in the city to eat and party!

Melia Costa Rey: Lovely place, pleasant vacation

A well deserved 4+ star resort. Clean rooms, quite good food, lovely beach, nice size pools. Issues, here and there, ( like hard to change beach towels) ... it happened, but all together, it was a pleasant vacation.

Melia Las Dunas: Beautiful resort

Melia las dunas is a beautiful 19 year old resort its lushness in the plantation of trees tropical plants are so manicured, lobby is huge marble, bright,areas with lots of seating, all grounds are spotless and clean, walk way to beach well kept and easy access, rooms are dated to the newer hotels but clean and fresh, my only issue was lack of hot water to shower with, for 1 week they said issue was being looked at, but the issue is definitely not a quick fix,

Sol Cayo Santa Maria: Sol Cayo Santa Marie

The resorts is a very good resort the staff is very friendly and helpful. The only complaint I had was the area we were first staying in was not very well maintained but the staff moved us to the room we stayed in last year and the whole area was very clean.I would recommend this resort to anyone.

Melia Buenavista: Fantastic resort

This resort was very nice well kept very clean and friendly staff.The pool and beach area were very with lots of chairs for everyone!! I would definitely consider going back to this resort.Absolutely loved the rooms they were clean and very spacious.

Melia Jardines del Rey: The worst place in Cuba

This is the worst place we have seen in Cuba. We had no running water for 3 days, broken toilet not fixed for few days, stolen item from the room, rooms not cleaned daily, had to beg for clean towels, lack of food: no fresh fruits and salads, only canned goods. Office staff not helpful with all of the above issues. The beach is with rocks and not good for long walks. Would not recommend this place! The worst vacation we ever had!

Melia Buenavista: Great resort for relaxation

This is an over 18 resort, incredible for a couples getaway or small groups. Great helpful personnel on the resort, from the check in personnel - to the ground staff. They are very friendly and there to assist you with all things that you require. The resort is smaller with only 105 units. 2 pools. 1 with music and 2nd quiet. There are 3 beautiful beaches, each with with their own bar service and a bit of a different atmosphere. There are 2 dinner restaurants, with a different breakfast and lunch restaurant on site, there is also a 24 hr snack bar at the main pool that serves pizza, burgers and hot dogs. The lobby has a 24 hr bar where you can enjoy nightly entertainment, conversation with other guest or just enjoying the moment. You do have access to 2 other Melia resorts and use of their amenities including buffets. Our butler did say that the resort is arranging to have more food options offered, by allowing clients to go to a plaza with amenities available there. This would include shopping, bowling, a disco and additional food choices. This would require transportation to and from the resort to the plaza. The room was large with a view of the ocean and a balcony to enjoy a morning coffee or a drink. There were no see ums that did bite. The resort did spray for them but being the time of year and recent rainfalls they were prevalent. Bring bug spray. The resort is a 1.5 hr drive to get to from the airport but we considered this a free bus tour of the country. The cost is slightly higher than most resorts in Cuba but if you want service that goes above, you should give the Melia Buena Vista a try.

Sol Cayo Santa Maria: Good hotel for the price

There shouldn’t be any saving of chairs on the beach and people who are registered at the hotel should get priority on chairs on the beach. It was very difficult to get a chair on the beach and it was annoying to see people walking down from other resorts and having some of the best chairs saved.

Paradisus Varadero: Amazing resort

Honestly the staff was amazing cant say anything bad no matter what went wrong the staff took care of it we usually go twice a year first time to this resort and to cuba and have to say doesnt get better staff then that

Sol Palmeras: Amazing resort-2nd home

My fourth visit this year. 13th visit with a total of 15 weeks over the years. Always welcomed by the staff that treat us as family. Many have invited us into their homes to meet their families. Mario will welcome you with his huge smile and assist with your luggage. Odarmis at reservation’s is a big part of family, even came to Canada to visit us. They go out of their way to always make sure we have everything we need. They make the best drinks, pina colado’s.Make sure you have Nivaldo at the coffee bar make you the best cappuccino or Frappuccino. Idelmis and Asear, Vladimir along with many others are always happy to make your time in the buffet the best. The food in the buffet is plentiful with a wide variety. You’ll never go hungry even if you’re a picky eater. The alacarts are a great change. My favourites are the Latino or Tex Mex where you get to enjoy the service of Yahimy. She and her staff also go out of their way to make sure you a fantastic experience. The pool is a great place to relax and enjoy the activities provided by Mariam, Reneil, and Isaac throughout the day. The beach is one of the best and longest. Activities are also ongoing. There is evening entertainment in the lobby and also nightly entertainment to enjoy. Our favourite accommodations are in the bungalows because we prefer the feel of home and have a morning or evening coffee on our patio. This hotel is very clean and consistent with food and drinks. Very few shortages. This should be your first and only choice to stay.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Good Value!

The first thing to remember is ... this is Cuba. Expectations should be managed accordingly. Exceeded expectations: The people. Absolutely marvelous. Friendly. Helpful. Smiling. Grateful. The live music. The band was incredible. Especially Claudia. Room size - HUGE. King bed, sitting area, big bathroom - spotlessly clean every day. Some of the food - pasta made-to-order, croissants, the Japanese Restaurant was THE BEST (show and food)! Met expectations: Food (in general). Decided lack of [... read more] fresh greens or fruit, but lots of variety with meat, rice, pasta and desserts. The Grounds - lovely in spite of some hurricane damage. The Pool - very nice, big, clean and warm. Beneath expectations: Problem solving was VERY slow. First day I was locked out of my room THREE times before they fixed it. A few days later I could not lock my room (and there was no deadbolt) and that also took far to long to correct. The light outside our rooms was out several times - very dark and very dangerous. No hot water (but just for a few hours and only once). Coffee - pretty horrible whether specialty of restaurant. Beach walk is a slog. Heavy sand, only about a mile in length and tons of work to walk it. Never enough beach loungers. Lots of bugs. All in all, this is a good resort for the money and I would highly recommend ... as long as you remember ... this is Cuba! Go for the sun and the people and the music!

Beautiful property, especially the Level, security was exceptional Food, atmosphere, employees the pools , bars. Grounds, all kept very well The bars were well stocked, plenty of choices for food every where on site The only place I will stay in Cuba at the moment Plan to return in the spring

Melia Cayo Coco: Great resort!

Staff at Melia Cayo Coco was very friendly and attentive. They always tried their best to accommodate everyone. There was a good food selection in the buffet restaurant, albeit the food was the same every day. A la carte restaurant food was nicely prepared with lovely presentation. We were looking forward to having a lobster, just as in the past, but unfortunately this option was not available. We were quite disappointed as this was one of the reasons why we returned to Melia this time of t [... read more]he year. The resort was spotless, cleaned on regular basis. We had a lovely room which provided enough comfort but the original workmanship and subsequent repairs just didn't cut it. We have also dealt with a running toilet which we had to tend to every time we flushed but once we figured out the trick, we just dealt with it. We were delighted that we didn't have to rush in the mornings to secure our spots either on the beach or by the pool as the resort provided sufficient number of lounge chairs and palapas. We rather enjoyed the entertainment which seemed to be going throughout the day. Too bad Michael Jackson was sick, lol, we were rather looking forward to the show! However, we were not too keen on the fashion show as their crew was quite pushy for us to get our raffle tickets. It got to a point where we had to leave. Overall, we would recommend the resort and are looking forward to returning there.
