Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Small but nice resort

Upon arrival we were sent to what looked like a prison cell (not actually) but it was so small, no balcony, no sitting spot- the Bliss room. We got moved the next day, to a suite and it was much better. The resort is very small. Food was pretty decent sort of the same things each day. Small pool, so it seemed crowed at times. Wifi kicks you off often so you have to constantly sign back in. Nothing to do at night unless you wait for the disco to open at 11pm, we didn't check it out! Viva Maya by Wyndham: Excellent Resort

It is not too big so the staff are very friendly and easily remember you and your wants re drinks, etc. Easy access to the beach with sufficient lounges for everyone. The pool area is always lively. The ala carte restaurants are very good, with the Mediterranean getting my highest recommendation. The buffet always has something to offer even the pickiest of eaters. The rooms are well maintained.

Viva V Samana by Wyndham: Perfect place for vacation

Spent one week with my wife in the first half of June. It was our first time at this resort and we like everything about the place: adults only with limited number of patrons, well equipped rooms with comfortable queen beds, daily cleaning and towels change (though the cleaning begins usually at 11am and may last till 4pm), fantastic beach and ocean (long chairs are available all day long, no need to take them early in the morning), tasty and healthy food with vast varieties (great assortment of [... read more] deserts), friendly service and entertainment (group of cheerleaders tried to entertain the patrons all day long, invited singers every night), special events at the buffet, quality drinks at the bars with the long list of cocktails, small gym is well equipped and fitness fans may support the form during vacation. The resort is well managed and personnel really tries to provide the best service. Definitely it worth the price and for the next vacation we will not look for something else. Though a couple shortcomings may be mentioned: water supply to the room has been interrupted one day and one night without notice, and 3 last nights were not very comfortable because of the neighbours - not very civilised patrons used to get to the room about 10pm and watched TV with a rather high volume till around 2am. Since the TV sets are mounted on the walls we had to listen to their noise. After the first night I placed a complaint to the Customer service but it seems nobody talked to the neighbours because they set TV at the same volume in the night. On the third night I smacked the wall and only then they surprisingly reduced the volume.

Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Struggling to find itself

Before COVID this place was awesome - it WAS adults only and a classy fun place. Now they have switched to a family resort and the locals invade every weekend and they DO NOT like tourists. They keep removing items that were offered before - no more room service - no more bath towel and slippers. The hotel is struggling to figure out who they should appeal to. The hotel was hosting a Vacation Boot Camp conference when we arrived which helped the food selection and quality. The conference end [... read more]ed and the tomatoes went from beautiful red to green and red. Management seems disorganized and wasteful - they made staff setup two days for a pool dinner when we clearly had rain rolling in - both times it was rained out and switched to the indoor buffet. Reception Manager Miguel should be demoted for his inability to understand customer service and loyalty to repeat customers. Other staff are frustrated with his personality too. On the other hand Animation Manager Rafael would be a great replacement and a friendly replacement for Miguel. Staff that made the vacation good include Orelvis, Oscabelly, Yanet, Tony, Juan, Darwin and Omar. A another special thank you goes to Andrea in the Spa - always friendly and a superstar in our eyes. In conclusion - if you want Adults only with Wyndham go to Samana where you will be happy.

Viva V Samana by Wyndham: Amazing Resort!

Wonderful resort! The beach was fantastic! We had so much fun! This was our first Adult only & it was very quiet & worth it. Very clean. Staff very friendly. The Rep from Air Transat, Catherine was wonderful. She gave us very helpful information. Will certainly return to this resort.

Viva Tangerine by Wyndham: Great Family Resort

The resort is not big, however it's a beautiful resort to stay. Clean grounds and kept well. Food is great, lots of varieties of food in the buffet restaurant. Staffs are friendly and activity entertainment are amazing. It's a wonderful family resort. The price is worth it!

I went on vacation with my sister, my 18 year old niece and her best friend. Our Tripcentral Rep Colleen made the whole booking experience seemless, taking care of any of our questions promptly and keeping us up to date on everything. Thank you!!! From the moment our vacation started at the airport, to arriving for a week and the return home, I can honestly say it was one of the best vacations I’ve ever had. The flight was early arriving. The hotel was amazing. Clean room, no bugs, could do [... read more] with pictures in the room, but other than that, the bed was very comfortable and we were able to control the temperature in our room with no problem. The hotel grounds were very clean and beautiful, especially the walk to the beach through the lush, tree lined walkway path. The restaurants and food were excellent. There was something for everyone and we were able to try all but the Blend restaurant. We all loved the little cafe that had iced coffee, hot beverages, wraps and pastries. It was nice when we wanted a snack. Our favourite meal was the huge bbq the one night, out by the pool. So much to choose from and delicious! The staff were always willing to help and when we needed something, we were able to ask with no problems. The beach was very clean and chairs were always available. We had no bugs until the last couple of evenings, but we had bug spray, so it was a non issue. The entertainment was very good. There were several beach vendors, but it seemed to be controlled as you were told to remember their shirt numbers if you wanted something, but if you said no, they didn’t continue to bother you. Saying that, there were several of them. Our only disappointment was that the pool was dirty from Monday to Thursday when it was cleaned and chlorine added and we used it the rest of the time.

If you are looking for a quiet and peaceful resort - this is the place. Staff are friendly and the resort is very well maintained. All services and features are very close. Food is great and drinks are always enjoyable.

We loved the resort. It’s small, the food is good and staff are so amazing. Loved the entertainment team. Rooms were super clean. Beach was nice. Loved the mexican restaurant and the Italian as well.

Everything is perfect Will go again My daughter been there 3 times. Going on your own is safe The little Café Place is so much fun. People there are really nice I have nothing negative. 7 days to 10 is enough cause a small quiet place

Очень хороший резорт ,хороший сервис,прекрасная еда,замечательный сад,прекрасный пляж,удобное местоположение,правильный дизайн,возможность отдохнуть в покое. К сожалению люди курят,прямо под табличками запрещающими это,но обслуга,увы,позволяет это, Все остальное очень не плохо.

First thing Air Transat switch plane going to Samana DR last minute and my row 1 seats turned into row 28, I am handicap due to a motor vehicle accident 5 years ago and a heart condition that I can not walk for long! informed Air Transat of this but they said "hey you can exit from the rear of the plane when it lands! The leg room was atrocious, my back was sore for 2 days after the flight down! The other thing is if you need internet this is NOT the place for you! I am a computer tech and know  [... read more]lots about networks and Wi-Fi and such the internet provided was right out of the stone age! 8 mb speed at best usually around 4 mb! The entertainment was lousy! They had low budget shows, usually 2 people one singing and one playing keyboard with a laptop with prerecorded backing tracks and most of the music was from 80's and 90's lounge lizard type of tunes! they did have a live band one night out of 2 week stay! food was medium to good but not a lot of variety from night to night! This is defiantly not a 5 star resort! 3.5 at best. Our HVac system in the room was leaking water on the floor so much we had to put a towel down to soak it up! The entire time we stayed the room had a strong smell of sewer gas lingering in the room! Also my wife and I were sneezing and coughing quite a lot! Someone suggested it might be a mold problem? All and all our expectations are not super high! So we had a good time but we definitely will not be returning to Viva Via Samana, and I thing we will avoid the Wyndham properties as well in general! They have a 2 tier setup regular which we were and club which is approximately 30 grand USD to join for 10 years. its a points system that I would not buy into! And would suggest anyone else to stay away from! The plane ride back was great had the same seats we were assigned when we booked the trip! 4J and 4K lots of room I believe it was an Air bus 320? Nice aircraft looked fairly new and engines were extremely quite! The other things I could mention were pool towels were ratty for the most part and had a lot of bleach stains and just looked old! most towels were not even that clean! Some had like a BO smell to them! I was also disappointed in the booze! it was very low quality although some times they had Stoli Vodka which we like Cointreau was either watered down or some fake stuff! Oddly enough they had Sambuca which I drank a lot of and reminded me of the Sambuca I drink @ home! They had some supply chain issues no bacon a few mornings and only peperoni for the pizzas on a rare occasion, cook said they didn't have any! Pizza was taste though. I don't generally eat pizza when I'm away! One night I had breaded veal and it was very good! and one afternoon they served empanada's only the one time though! They were soooo good! Again my review reflects some of the bad stuff as we tended to not forget that! I tried to make this as fair as possible! And the beach and pool were great, only complaint is clean the pool more often and do a better job of it! I also had a room on the ground floor with the plunge pool! Was half empty most of the time and full of insects stayed out of it most of the time, the reason I booked the plunge pool room is that I would be guaranteed a ground floor with my disability that was imperative! The building are 4 floors and no elevators unless you are a club member! Hotel was pretty clean and staff were great management were not quite as good as the regular working staff! I would suggest the overhaul there entertainment crew get more with the times seems right out of the 80's and 90's club med type of stuff!

Viva V Samana by Wyndham: Fun week in Samana

Spent a beautiful week in Samana at the Viva V Wyndham All Inclusive. Mostly good reviews, but some not so good. The resort is beautiful. Gardens, Beach, Rooms, Restaurants, Entertainment, Staff all very good. We had a second floor room. 1st floor rooms had dehumidifiers running 24/7. The lounge chairs were very uncomfortable. The pool was small, not very deep and cloudy. Fix the lounge chairs and we would probably go back.

Viva Heavens by Wyndham: WILL NOT RETURN

All public areas were in good order. We opted for an 'Amnesia Suite,' which was large, comfortable and always kept clean and tidy. Service provided by the maid was outstanding. Food at the main restaurant was OK, but lacking in variety. Other restaurants we visited were also OK but the menu at these 'premium' restaurants was not too different from the main buffet. There was only one bar, which was near the pool and not very convenient if you were near the main lobby area. NEGATIVES - There wer [... read more]e no steps or hand rail to access the pool. My wife and I are senior citizens and getting into the pool was too difficult for us. We found the beach was too far from the main complex. MAJOR NEGATIVE - The constand loud 'boom boom' of the music (if you can call it that) was too much. The noise was so loud, that we had difficulty getting to sleep until after 11.00 pm. Summary - generally disappointed.

The entire resort are is well maintained. Great walking trails, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the room was excellent. Air conditioning was great, food was good. I would recommend this resort.

Viva Heavens by Wyndham: As advertised

The overall size for us was great. Everything was close and convenient. A quiet resort as well. No problem accessing good beach or pool seats, at least during our stay. An ideal location for people seeking a restful vacation. Food was satisfactory, but we found selection a bit limited. A couple of strange notes were no coffee at supper time, no bacon at breakfast. Coffee when available in morning was milk only, no cream.

Viva Tangerine by Wyndham: Loved every minute of it?

The resort is right downtown Cabarete( a 5 minute walk actually) a short drive from the airport, quick check in and our room was ready. We had issues finding our room as the buildings are not clearly numbered. But that hiccup was minor lol. The resort grounds are well manicured, staff is excellent in all areas of the resort. Food and drinks were great! Rooms are satisfactory , next time will book an ocean view to be close to the pool and ocean.

Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Love this resort

This resort was the smallest I’ve been to but it was my favourite. The rooms are clean, food was good but the entertainment staff and bar tenders etc make this place so special. ALL the staff are amazing. Can’t wait to return

Petit resort près de l’aéroport. Tout est bien situe. Chambres sont à 2 min de la piscine, 2 min du buffet etc… Nous avons été capable d’avoir 4 restos à la carte dans la semaine. La plage est à 5min de marche et beau sentier pour si rendre. Longue plage ou on peut marcher. Serviette de plage disponible chaque matin.

Viva Tangerine by Wyndham: I’ll be back.

Been to dozens of resorts, this is the third time @Viva Tangerine Love the beach. Food was good, not pre covid good, but no resort has stepped it up fully yet. Only ate at the main dining room. All Service, esp dining and housekeeping was great, employees seem to truly care and enjoy their job, and people. (great bosses no doubt) Entertainment: I’ve see worse, but very few. If you think being in-your-face flamboyant, compensates for lazy and rude, then you will be blind to the problem. All things considered, great value.
