hotel is upgrading slowly all area clean lawns were not mowed food was good staff are amazing for a public (Cuban) beach very little soliciting all in all a great place to vacation carriage tours ,bus tours , and general activities make for a holiday that you will remember

Club Amigo Mayanabo: lack of hot water

the hotel turn out hot water, during 14 days we had hot water for 4 days only. When we complain they did not respond and they have different explanation every day. We have to take shower in cold water.

Club Amigo Mayanabo: I go there many times BUT

I have to give the hotel a bad review. I know this is only a 3 star but for myself a and friend Frank. We had diarrhea the first week. The food this time was, hard chicken legs, winners, bony pork. The drinks eg. orange juice was something like tang, and many of the same greasy cold cuts. Coffee was bitter I could carry on but I won't. I usually do not complain but this time I will. The trip to Camaguey would have been better . It took over 4 hours on a very bad road to get to Santa Lucia. The [... read more] flight was only 3 hours and 30 minutes !! The top bed sheet had to be put aside as you did not know who sat on it. I found that in the 25 + years that I go there .This was the worst .. The staff were always looking for tips, or they would give you 3d class service or serve someone else that they knew a dollar was coming to them..

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Times Are A Changing!

I've been to Club Amigo many times over the years but this is the first time I've ever been disappointed-in the amenities, the food and even the staff seemed very tense. Not sure if it's the economic situation, the management or the new hotel next door-or maybe all of the above. TripCentral is the most helpful, attentive travel agency I've ever booked with and thank you for that. We'll be booking again soon !

Club Amigo Mayanabo: Average

Hotel and service Good Transportation bad .I the resort for many years..and newer got 5 hr ride from the airport for 5 hr.. My agent told me it will landed in Holguin. and didn't mentioned nit will be 5 hr ride on no roads there was only about 3 km of asphalt rest design for tanks or horse and baggie. almost 2 days take me to recover from my sore back. Carisol los Corales: Didn’t happen !!!

I wish I was able to give a good review! After doing my online check in the night before we arrived at Toronto Airport at 6:30 am with boarding passes in hand believing 90 minutes was plenty of time to check bags for 8 am take off . The park and fly bus never came to get us for 45 minutes and we were turned away from our flight ✈️ never again will I book with tripcentral or sunwing

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Beautiful beaches

Our trip was fantastic. We did the Jeep and Dolphin excursion and was awesome. The Cubans are wonderful as always. Not sure if it was the timing of our vacation but not much was opened and that wasn't great. Met some wonderful new friends. Went to a Cubans house for New year's and it was a great experience. No bell boys on duty when we we leaving and that made it difficult to get our luggage from the Villa to the front lobby in complete darkness and I wasn't impressed with that. Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Good holiday!

Resort is old and dated. Needs a lot of updating with furniture and beds. Servers are excellent and friendly. Food was good but sometimes lacking! Ran out of beer at times! Ran out of bread at times. Ran out of toilet paper in public washrooms at times. Realized our trip was on a time that Cuba's had a holiday as well so we had lots of Cuba families in resort and they would order double the amount of food and then pack half of it away to bring back to their rooms! Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: All you could dream of

The grounds are kept up implacably. This is one of my favorite resorts because they offer so much. For example the sprawling grounds give you the use of 3 resorts. I love having the ocean front access with the beautiful walk way to the property. Fortunately the room I requested was not available so at no charge my 9 year old niece and I were upgraded to a villa room. Club Amigo Mayanabo: Mediocre at best

So, going into a 3 star resort in Cuba, there are obvious things that are to be expected. Surprisingly enough however, the food was quite great. I’d avoid the breakfast honestly, but both the buffets and restaurants had some great stuff. Thing is, there are a bunch of factors that negatively impacted my stay. Keep in mind too that the bus ride is a minimum of 3 hours long and it’s real bumpy. Now, the “non-suite” rooms were gross with bugs in the floating ceilings (and the AC leak [... read more]s water allll over the place), we had to pay for water and safety deposit boxes, the service was poor with a constant bad vibe from aloof employees, there was a lack of amenities and overcrowding at certain spots (huge line ups at the reception, bars and buffet). Also, the on-site store hours differ so much to what’s listed: it happened on more than one occasion that I’d go to purchase something during their opening hours but there’d be no employees for hours (they also don’t sell matches or lighters of any kind so come prepared fyi)...And, the entertainment is quite awful. Don’t expect big shows like at the 4 or 5 star resorts. They don’t follow the listed schedule, the music is extremely loud (and I go to raves, mind you), and they take foooorever to set up the band! They have these chairs lined up in front of a stage but if the weather happened to get a bit sketchy, the show would abruptly end and you’d be left with no evening entertainment. The pool also doesn’t have any chlorine and the water looked murky and gross. What’s also important to mention is the disgusting cappuccinos the Snack-Bar make! They use an espresso machine to brew and froth milk, but they’re rarely cleaned which result in huge nasty milk curds in the coffees......Lastly, there are clubs nearby that play music till like 3am and can be heard from the rooms... Basically, if you’re paying under 900$ for a trip here, I guess it’s worth it for the beach but don’t get ripped off.

Hotel Caracol: Great resort!! Value for money!!

We weren't expecting much as it was said to be a 3 star, but it was more worth a 4. The food was delicious, the drinks a plenty.. To bad the water bottles was only .50 cuc. Pool was not excellent but better than all the other resorts in the strip, cool and refreshing and clear-ish. Some staff ( bar staff )could be more smiley or appreciative.. Beach clean and large. Carisol los Corales: UPGRADS AND REPAIRS IN ACUTE NEED

This was my second visit to this property since 7 years ago. The buildings are old and in disrepair. The roofs are leaking in many places. I guess nobody repaired them since the hurricane Sandy a few years ago. If you'll need repairs, be persistent but polite. It will take some time, though. The lagune at the entrance of the hotel is very dirty with garbage floating on the top. Really an eye sore for the hotel. I noticed it first as arrived to te hotel. I would give the chef and the lady in charge for food service a credit. Really well organized. Good food control. The gym is dysfunctional. The machines are disconnected most of the time and to find the stuff to reconnect them is a hassle. Coffee at the 24.hour bar is excellent and the stuff supper. We had some problems with the water, mainly the pumps broke down and the spare part was hard to come by. There are no phones in the rooms. The bottle of water in the store cost 65c CUC. This is the chipest price I payed anywhere in Cuba. On the 24 of Dec., there was dinner fiest the grande. It was really fantastic. The stuff is pleasant and accommodating. I might return to this place sometime in the future.

this place is special for me for many years, it hurts me to see it is DECLINING... I call it a 1,5 STARZ Hotel - with 10 STARZ BEACH, & 6 STARZ People... all said... if I have to FIGHT to get a drink in the GLASS, instead of 'Plastico' - I don't like it... same goes for Cappuccino, that MUST be served in Porcelain instead of plastic :-( another BAD thing - NO EVENING PROGRAM every night, and NO ANNOUNCEMENT about it !? :-( on the POSITIVE side - the BEER ON TAP is back in the AQUA BAR,:-) a [... read more]nd in the Program area, and BRED is improving ! :-)

Hotel Caracol: Caracol

As the previous time hotel grounds were nice and clean. More than enough variety of food for not too picky person. Entertainment was better 4 years ago. Beach cleaned every day. Other public beaches in the area very dirty almost dengerous to walk on. Both buses I was traveling in with quite dirty apolstery.

We've been going to this resort 15+ times and the reason we keep coming back is mostly due to the staff. Exceptional service. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Awesome trip each time!!

I been going there for about 9 years Love the staff , love the tourist at this resort people are just so nice Beach is beautiful , the rooms are ok , you only sleep in there lol. They are doing a lot of renovation which is good I will comeback again

Hotel Caracol: beautiful resort

This is my fourth time after a long time. Everything is good with exception of few things. Too much flies in the dinning room. They need to label all the food. They tend to put pork in everything. (eg. Yuca with a little bit of pork) I am not eating pork, so I cannot eat the Yuca. Not everybody eat pork or beef.

i have been to this resort many times over the years and still like it a lot despite some interesting and weird shortcomings. keep in mind what you pay for the trip and the wonderful staff and people who serve you day to day. i will come again and its the people and the beaches that keep me coming back over and over again over the 16 plus years.
