Resort is okay

Stayed for 7 days and we really enjoyed our stay. My wife is restricted to a wheel chair and we had easy access around the facility and to our room 161 which was on the main floor with easy access to the main grounds. There was a problem with moisture in the room which came from the pool area and unfortunately made it physically difficult for my wife. The washroom was very spacious to move her wheel chair around and had direct access to the shower area - excellent. It still requires additional s [... read more]afety bars around the toilet area which would allow a easier means of up/down from her wheel chair. The counter area was too high and made it very difficult to wash/brush her teeth. Unfortunately, there was no access to the water at the beach for those in a wheel chair. I would recommend a stone walkway. My wife missed the opportunity to place her feet in the water. The meals in the main kitchen area provided an excellent variety of meals. The friendly atmosphere of the staff was always consistent and a real pleasure to see after coming from a large city. The grounds around the resort were always clean. Although the establishment is old, it has a lot of character.

Bwst vacation ever

On this trip I had such a great time, the pool side games, beach and pool volleyball Climbing wall was excellent...poolside grill and bar wad a treat,as well as the latenite entertainment...The staff from the custodians to the GM was awsome...we loved the friendlyness, of the staff, and the cleaniness of the resort. We had late night walks on the beach and felt safe with the 24 hr security that they had.

Solid 3 Star

When I do the "all in" trips I look for a beautiful beach and good food which the Breezes had (food was good not great). The decor is date which I don't really care too much about. Rooms were fine by me however my better half complained of bed bugs and no mini fridge or water provided. The service was amazing, really great down to earth workers that did a great job (especially Michelle at pool bar) Overall 6.5 out of 10

Great resort

This a great resort. The food was very good something for every taste. The staff was amazing friendly and accommodating. The decor is typical island decor not fancy but very clean. The beach is amazing. The pool was not hugh but very well maintained. Gym -games room were clean and well used - lots of ongoing entertainment day and night some good some so so Its all about location and beach ******

Very nice

Good value for the money, beautiful beaches, friendly staff. Minor annoyances like having to have the room keycard reprogrammed two or three times daily and calling 5 times to have the safe fixed. Also, the dining room was kept so cold it was impossible to eat without wearing a sweater. Otherwise, a very enjoyable time, wish I was still there!

Mediocre food and Bed bugs

Would never return here. Ended up with about 20 bed bug bites, slept on the floor the last night instead of the bed. Other guests said they had the same problem. Also overrun with day guests that make the food lineups very long and the resort very crowded.

Great Getaway from the Everyday!

The beach is beautiful, white sand, blue ocean the vista of cruise ships. Quite magical ! The staff were friendly and always helpful and made you feel welcome. The food was good with a variety of restaurants and food choices. The atmosphere was welcoming from the beginning of the visit with a welcome beverage to making sure you had what you need to enjoy your time.

Watch your belongings

Good food and great beach, but we had money stolen from our SAFE (our locked safe!!!). $200 was taken from us, we reported to the security and we were informed things would be taken care of.... And nothing happened!

Amazing Resort

Had a great time at the resort. The staff were friendly and the food was surprisingly good! The only draw back was the fact that there were hardly any shade to lie under. I would definitely go back to the Breezes again.

Terrible Experience at Breezes

We were looking forward to a 4 day getaway. What we endured was far from ANY possible definition of acceptable. After only hours, we attempted to find other accommodations~ but we were not successful. We are familiar with other Caribbean resorts-and this was the worst ever. From the moment we entered the doors of the Breezes facility, we were overwhelmed at the filth of the hotel and the overwhelming moldy odour. We ventured out to the pool area where the filthy conditions continued. The pool was literally empty- except for the sea gulls--and it is no wonder. Although we arrived early morning, the pool, which seemed in disrepair as it was missing tiles, was not clean. Bacteria foam was gathering at the side of the pool and a dense oil slick covered the surface. The beach area was passable~ with seaweed and seagulls being an issue. The “Entertainment Staff" was poor, as they entertained non-banded “friends”- all day long as they sat on picnic tables ignoring the guests. Initially, our room was visually acceptable. We were momentarily relieved that we could retreat to our room, until we realized that a moldy odor was prevalent- with mold visible in many areas- including walls, vents, closets and the blackened clothesline string in the bathroom. We had anticipated the dampness caused by humidity and air conditioning- but the mold was a major concern.Food was fair at best. We tried the fare at the “specialty” restaurants with no better experience. We should have realized that the dining experience would be a negative one- as once again- the restaurants were empty. We drank very little, as again, the island drink dispensers didn't appear to be clean and were often covered in insects. Entertainment was sadly lacking. Even the promised music poolside was missing and the evening entertainment was terrible. The advertised activities associated with Breezes were unavailable. We wanted to snorkel; however, we were told people stole the equipment- so it wasn’t available. Of course, there was someone willing to sell equipment to us. The final insult arrived the last day. Not given the opportunity to have our luggage secured in a holding area, we opted for a “holding room” (Room 215) at additional expense to ourselves. This room was beyond belief-the stench of bleach and mold was overpowering and it was filthy. I should mention that the check in staff, cleaning staff and some security staff were very friendly and pleasant- but they are the only positive thing I can say about this vacation. Spend the extra and go to Atlantis!! We were so relieved when our airport shuttle arrived !!

Breezes Bahamas just fine

I have been to Breezes twice. Its not 5 star but it is a great getaway if you are not stuck on new fancy rooms. I went each time when the price was a steal and I will go again when I see a great deal..if its some beach and a getaway you want its great, if its 5 star rooms you want don't.
