Great Resort with an unbelievable Buffet spread.

We enjoyed our stay at the resort. Was a bit apprehensive after reading some of the 1 star reviews. The resort is large and has a mini shuttle service (train on wheels) within. We decided to walk for most part as the buffet and food was just amazing. Needed to burn the extra calories. Free drinks, number of Pools, a Pirate ship wave pool, beach and also paid guided tours made it a memorable trip. Wouldnt think twice about coming back again.

Amazing Resort- As always!

This was our sixth trip to the Barcelo. On two previous stays we were on the all adult side, This trip we stayed at the Palace side during the first week of June/18. We booked Premium level- well worth the extra dollars in my opinion. Much has been written about this resort so I won't duplicate too much here. I amazed at the generosity of many tourists in this regard. I'm also amazed at how extremely cheap other tourists can be- especially when they ravage the services and attention of the dutiful staff and walk away without even leaving a buck or two- Shame!. The resort and beach were immaculate at all times. The a l;a cartes were excellent for the most part as we did a different one each othe the seven days we were there. Chez Gormet was excellent, but, unfortunately every course we were served that sitting was luke-warm-a bit disappointing as we really enjoyed that one in the past. Must have been just an off day. The only other disappointment we had concerned the disco. Enough Latin music already! We have encountered this complaint several times there. The D.J's just don't get it or don't have copyright to play more North American tunes. I like Latino music- but not to the exclusion of all else. Despite making requests, the D.J's just didn't care to mix it up- even a little- so we didn't really get to enjoy the club to it's fullest because the same old Latino tunes just got older and older as the days went on. Other than that everything was spot-on. Also want to compliment our travel agent Lynne Dixon- Trip Central, Sudbury, Ontario (though we are located in Hamilton, Ontario). We have booked a few trips through Lynne so far and each time she delivers promptly, follows-up questions , researches those questions that she does not readily have an answer for and gets back to us. She is thorough in her documentation, and I have enjoyed her assistance in this regard. I hope you enjoy the resort- and the staff- as we have. We'll be going back again someday as it is a well managed, staffed and resourced resort.

Great place!

We enjoyed everything! The hotel is spotless, staff is very friendly, service is quick, rooms were great and also the food was great. We truly enjoyed our trip at this resort and we would be happy to recommend to other people.

Great vacation

We had an excellent time at The Barcelo Bavaro Palace resort. My expectations were more than met. The resort was very clean and well maintained. Rooms were very spacious, clean and comfortable (we were in a "family room"). Buffets and a la carte restaurants were all very good, lots of choices for everyone. The service was also very good. Amazing beach

Amazing beach, overall clean resort, great buffet food, amazing cocktails, great service, wheelchair accessible rooms and grounds. On the downside, the sand unfortunately was full of plastic straws and caps and they allow photos with exotic animals that are obviously abused (the handlers were hitting the money on the nose to stay put and the parrots had their wings clipped).

Best Resort I have been to.

To be honest The whole of it was simply perfect Beach was beautiful well kept as are the grounds Nice well kept rooms food was good no complaints and available 24 hrs at one of the bars . This place also had great restaurants and very friendly accommodating staff plenty of activities and shows This is one resort I would recommend to all and will return to.

Unfforgetable Stay

Our friends and us spent just a wonderful time, great food and drinks, entertainment and the weather came with sunny days. The check-in process took a little more than expected, maybe need more staff at the front desk at arrival time, many flights landing between 12~4 pm. Wi-Fi was not included in the package, today's world most people want to be connected.

One of the best!

IT was an amazing holiday!!! The resort was beautiful: the servers and housekeepers very friendly and accomodating. The rooms were very clean and maintained. The food was plentiful and tasty without reproach. My grandchildren never wanted for anything. It surely was a five star resort!! AND many thanks to Dianne Newick for all her support and help!

Amazing family vacation

The resort was everything we could have asked for and more The room was amazing and so was the view. Quick transport from the airport and easy check in. Highly recommended for families. Food was great as were the a la cart restaurants. Beach spectacular. If you prefer a quieter section of the beach request rooms in the 1100 to 1400 section away from the lobby.

Beautiful Resort!

This resort is huge so expect to do plenty of walking. There is a train for your convenience. The grounds are very nice and the workers are constantly working to keep the grounds looking lovely. The beach is amazing!! No problem getting lounge chairs but not much shade. There is an adults only pool, kiddies pool and two other large family pools. At times lounge chairs are hard to find. Even at the buffets there was always a variety of foods so you always found something to your liking. There was also a sports bar which was open 24 hrs. Staff was very friendly but very few spoke English. Entertainment at the theatre was typical for a resort but it didn't start until 10 o'clock. The casino was also a fun place! The only negative about resort is check in isn't until three or later and wifi is not free. Wifi in casino is limited.

Luxurious Resort

The resort was amazing. Super spacious resort, room cleanliness, food quality and restaurant options you got it all and much more. The super long beach was spectacular. I was concerned that it would be crowded or too busy since the resort could accommodate so many people, but I was so surprised that this was not the case. A great time

We returned to the hotel and had a wonderful vacation at a. It could use a little TIC as it is starting to show its age, but aren't we all. We didn't get to all the Al carte restaurant however the ones we did eat at were fine. The staff as always was wpnderful. I just wish the staff had better English. Then again I should learn spanish

Always a great place

Place is well kept grounds look great, nice pool areas, food is good I am meat and potatoes so I was happy but lots of different foods. Beds were good a few little things like sticky taps, paper holder broken never fixed they just keep putting paper without reporting but going back again before end of the year

Great vacations

Everything was ok, the dining options were excellent, the facilities as well. We had a great experience. I recognize the high quality of the service, but also that there were no personal interaction. I felt I was one of hundreds, thousands of visitors, a number. Thats why I will not probably go back. Also the prices during March are too high. The check in for our return flight was very unpleasant, the waiting was too much. We arrived at 11.10 and it was 12.40 and we weren't even passed migra [... read more]tion. Too much stress , the flight was at 1.30 pm, but it was delayed.

Awesome Time!

Hotel was great! This was my third time staying at this resort; first time on the Palace side. Although a lot busier than the Adult Only section, it was still great. From the room, to the service, food, hospitality, entertainment, I loved it! :) I always recommend this resort to others because you really can't go wrong! GREAT WORK BARCELO!

Beautiful resort.

This was our third time at the Barcelo Bavaro Palace. The food was very good. The beach is so beautiful. Lots of activities for the whole family. There's also a water park with a wave pool. A Casino that is open 24 hours. Bowling alley for the whole family and Sports Bar that is also open 24 hours. The people that work there are all very helpful and polight. Biutifiul vacations

This is our fourth time to going to this hotel.Staff , food , friendliness and very clean rooms are always good. The weather is always nice if we are there.Beach clean and is a lots of beds to use.Sport activity amazing.

My Favorite Place to Be!!!

I have stayed here over 3 times and I love it here. The selection of food and cleanliness is wonderful. The scenery and pool area is lovely. The rooms are very modern. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Exceptional!

Loved virtually everything about this place! Fab beach, Fab room, Fab food. Only slight drawback being it was somewhat difficult to make reservations at the restaurants. Buffets has a great selection at all meals however.

GREAT RESORT

Lovely grounds, well kept. 2 great pools, one with a swim up bar, and 1 for quiet swimming etc. The resort is very well maintained. Great beach chairs, lots of them, and lots of beach space, so you are not sitting right on top of your "neighbour". Lots of stores in the resort for shopping, ranging from Gucci to your normal T-shirt and gift shop. Great restaurants and a casino in the resort and a coffee bar to just sit and relax after supper, if you wish. Entertainment every night which i [... read more]s very good, but it starts at 10pm, which is not the best, if you have kids with you. Also, this resort is only 25 minutes from the airport, so you are not on the bus long.
