Great Resort

I have been to Cuba a number of times. This is by far the Best Resort I have been to. It is a beautiful resort. The grounds and pools were clean and well kept. The beach is wonderful. For Cuban standards, the food was quite good. And one could always have some grilled meat or fish. I strongly believe that, everybody working in this resort (whether it is the people at the lobby, buffet, maid, or anybody else) made sure that your holiday is perfect. Amazing Resort

This is a very well run and well managed resort. The beach is fantastic. The food and service people were great. There was a nice variety of entertainment. The grounds get lots of attention and resort is very clean. It is great value for the money and would highly recommend.

Wonderful........yet again.

We had a wonderful trip from beginning to end. The resort is lovely, this is our 5 th time and it continues to shine. The beach is spectacular, rooms are being renovated and we had an older one one the first floor of the main building, some noise from below that woke us daily which was somewhat annoying but the room was clean and well appointed. The restaurants were fabulous! The bars were great and there is entertainment around every corner. The people are freiendly, helpful and talented.

Solid but not great!

Great place with flaws. Patio bar ran out of wine on three different nights and the food at the buffet under the heat lamps was lukewarm at best. Other than that a beautiful resort. Golf course was in excellent condition but could use a few more beverage carts due to the heat… Amen

Not as good experience as last year

1. They have a Level Club now which you pay more to get a different coloured hotel bracelet that we did not know about. 2. We were only able to book 3 ala carts instead of 4 restaurants this year. 3. The buffet choices and quality did not change much and we noticed how it wasn't as good and examples like smoked salmon was not replenished once it was gone. 4. They didn't have real orange juice with pulp like last year, it was a powder orange drink. 5. The service was extremely slow a [... read more]nd most of the time different offer coffer until you were ready to leave. 6. The rooms looked tired and the bathtub needed to be redone. 7. It was a challenge to get loungers with pads as they ran out and the hotel was not filled. 8. The bar was using cheaper brands of alcohol and very little name brands. 9. The red house was terrible and not good at all compared to last years house red. 10. Some bars opened later and closed earlier than last year and same with the buffet.

Love this Resort!

This was our 5th time going to the Melia Las America’s. Very clean rooms, food is great, amazing staff and if you enjoy golf as we do the course is excellent! Lots of people return to this resort every year and we cant wait to go back!

Lovely setting.

Beautiful beach and swim friendly water. Ample shade areas. The hotel and public areas are attractive and well serviced with bars and restaurants. Our room was showing its age regarding decor and the bathroom is certainly past its prime. Our section of the 3rd floor had annoying odours. The food was better than expected, I particularly enjoyed the grill section for fresh meat and fish. Overall a pleasant holiday.

Loved Our First Cuba Trip

The hotel was good, staff was excellent and made our stay special! We plan to return for another stay in the future!! The rooms were adequate, beds need to be upgraded. The beaches were well keep and very safe. Really liked the fact we could walk to golf course!!!

Love this resort

Melia las Americas is a beautiful hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. From the moment we arrived we felt the staff were attentive and did the best they could to make our stay enjoyable. The surrounding pools and lounge areas are totally relaxing, and there is a variety of places to eat during the day from buffet to snack bars and restaurant area. We will definitely return to Melia las Americas

Relaxing vacation

The Melia Las Americas is a beautiful resort with an amazing beach and lots of palapas and pool areas to choose from. The food was good and there was plenty to choose from at the buffet and a la cartes. The resort caters to an older crowd and is fairly quiet by 1030 or so but after a long day in the sun and enjoying the Cuban rum that was fine with us! The rooms we had in the main hotel were dated but clean. We will definately be back!

One of the best

I can't say enough good things about this resort, truly a pleasure to stay at. From our check in at the front desk, the bellman, cleaning staff, bar staff, restaurant staff and entertainment crew were all super friendly and were more than happy to help out. The bellman even took our golf clubs over to the golf course to lesson our load. The cleanliness of the entire facility. Beautiful paradise!

Beautiful five star resort. The grounds, beeches, and pools were absolutely stunning. Food was good, the a-la-cartes were amazing, rooms were a little dated in our section. Many return customers here, all who say it’s the best ;) It’s located on veraderos only pro golf course so there is more of an older “adult” oriented crowd. Highly recommend.

Beautiful- Exceeded expectations!

The hotel pool areas were beautiful and well maintained. Beach was immaculate. We had booked a suite in the Level section. It’s a must! Gorgeous, spacious and modern. Excellent beds and selection of pillows. Walk in rain shower. Level section also had two private air conditioned lounge areas with premium alcohol and snacks. El Limincillo restaurant is beautiful and beachside- a fabulous quiet place for breakfast and lunch with amazing capucinno. Beach and pool areas had service. Mediocre to horrible! 3 stars at best.

Where to start? Arrived early, found the bus to take us to resort, sat for 1 hour and 45 minutes at the airport, reason waiting for 2 more people, who were waiting outside the bus.. Actually waiting while the tour operators agent hocked beer on the bus. Get to the resort, no one from "the Level" met us, stood in line for 10 minutes before we went looking and found the Level reception lounge. Checked in, then started a 12 minute trek to our room. The room was great, it was the last bungalow on the south side of the resort, we were behind the main entrance/security to the resort. After checking the distance, taking the sidewalk out front, discovered it was .7 kilometers. that is 2310 ft. from our room to the lobby. We inquired about moving, and they were very understanding and accommodating, but the room was much smaller and not all that much closer. We were also offered a room in the hotel, if we wanted to stay in a huge multi room hotel, we would have gone to Casino Niagara for a lot less. We had to walk that distance every time we went to eat in one of the restaurants, I got to the point, that my knees and back would not allow me to walk it anymore. We started flagging down taxis at the guard shack and paying 3 pesos for a ride to the lobby and later 3 pesos back to the security, then walk the 60 feet to our room. We had a total of 14 meals over the period of 6 days. Only 1 meal would garner a "good" rating, the rest were sub par to say the least. Forget "room service", average delivery time was 1 hour, 15 minutes. three orders and all were ice cold when they got to out room. The first night, room service hung up on us 3 times. My wife hiked backed to the lobby to complain and the staff in the Level concierge placed our order for us, we ate maybe a quarter of it and the rest, ice cold of course. There was no such thing as hot food at the buffet for breakfast, unless you waited in line for an omelette or fried eggs. No coffee in any of the restaurants after dinner, " go to the lobby" is the stock reply. We also found that we had to call everyday to get our fridge restocked, just 2 of beer and cola, orange and ginger ale. NO ALCOHOL could be delivered to the room. It took 3 days of asking before we got face clothes, rest of the bathroom supplies were fine. The room service maid was excellent. Nancy, kudos. The resort is pleasant looking, and has beautiful grounds, with nice sight lines of the beach. Numerous stairs through out the resort, some ramps, some are very steep and could be a serious hazard to people in wheelchairs and walkers. The marking of stairs and elevated floors is nonexistent. In the one restaurant(The Limoncello) the centre of the restaurant floor is raised by 9 inches with no indication of the change in the height. I stumbled into it and careened into a table that flipped over with me following it to the floor. Everything that was on the table was smashed on the floor, luckily I was not cut, just bruised and sore. The morning entertainment for the patrons, who by the way were the only ones to come to my aid. I was not asked by the staff if I was alright or offered any assistance. Everyone seemed unconcerned with my fall, including the staff at "the Level" concierge. If there are cameras in the Limoncello. look around the 9 to 9:30 am time frame, Saturday Feb, 16. Paying for "The Level" service did not seem to benefit us in anyway.

Amazing place, great people.

Rooms where fine .nice to see they are always trying to keep you comfortable. We loved the night time visits to turn down our beds and leave us a nice design from the towels. We also love how close we are to the golf course. We played 7 games during the 8 days we were there. Those guys and girls we just great. Planning another trip again. Can't wait to go back.

Better than we remembered

10 years ago we went to Melia las Americas. After that we went to several other resorts and always remembered how good we had it at Melia. So..we spend the extra money and said: “we know what we get”. It was great to be back. Better than we remembered. Lots upgraded. The room was beautiful and clean (standard no ocean view, but we had view over the bay). Food was excellent. The a la cart dinner at the Cascade was superb. Incl live music. The beaches look less deep as we remembered and I thin [... read more]k global warming also shows in Cuba. One disappointment we had and it was the quality of the entertainment. Not great. Didn’t make a difference to our stay. We will be back and sticking to what we know. Our goal is a break from winter with good food, friendly service and a clean room. We got it! Melia las Americas...we will be back. It’s a beautiful resort.

Great Resort

We enjoyed our stay at the Melia Las Americas. Good food, friendly helpful staff, clean comfortable rooms. Lots of lounge chairs and shady areas at the beautiful beach. We would definately stay there the next time we are in Cuba.

Fantastic golf resort.

My first time at this resort and I would go again. Service was very friendly and great. No problem with the food as there was all kind of choices. The room was very clean and bottled water every day. GREAT GOLF COURSE !! Good entertainment every day.Would definitely recommend this resort to my friends.

Glorious Beach, Exceptional Staff

The hotel is exceptionally well appointed (by any standard). Food was incomparable (and clearly customized during our stay to appeal to the nationalities of the majority of guest while also offering local delicacies). Best still were the staff (have Raul make you a pinata colada or his speciality the "pick me up"). It's clear why so many have visited again and again.
