Outstanding!!!!!

We stayed in the platinum club. It was well worth it!!! Wifi worked well!! The staff was friendly and efficient. When we arrived to check in our greeting was welcome home! What a warm greeting. We instantly felt like family. The room was great. The phone was broken we let the staff know and a new phone was installed right away. Food was very good.

Beautiful Resort...wonderful staff

The resort is large and spreadout but the trolley runs reguarly and it is easy to get around. There are no complaints, it is clean, beautiful grounds and a number of speciality restaurants that offer excellent dinners. Favourites were Japanese and Italian. The beach area was spectacular. Suggest upgrade to a bungalow as the Junior Suites are quite a distance from the beach and pools. Definately would go back!

Wonderfull place

Everything was perfect eccept the "upgrade room" to a suite. The hotel did 'nt want to give us tthe place we use to have on the complex because of that. We had to argue for a long time and we finally got what we asked for. But nex time you should advise the customer about the "upgrade room to suite they will gave you the worst place on the site.

Definitely a 3 star resort

Our family travelled to the Dominican Republic in late July. Our stay at the Bavaro Princess was, just as we'd feared it would be based on some of the less stellar reviews, average at best. Rooms - spacious; very comfortable beds (a bit on the firm side but that's our preference); we weren't able to get the A/C to make to room any colder but luckily it was able to keep the room at a reasonable temperature; mosquitoes were definitely a nuisance as the housekeepers tend to leave the doors open wh [... read more]ile they are working but if you request the room to be sprayed daily with bug killer it helped drastically. Beach - The first couple of the days the beach was good with little to moderate seaweed. Water temperatures were very warm but that's to be expected for the time of year. The last half of the trip, the seaweed was significant and unmanageable despite the high volume or workers on the beach trying to clean it up, even with earth-moving equipment. The beach itself has beautiful soft white sand. Food - The food was typically cold, mushy and bland. The buffets are open air which meant there were often flies on the food and it was stifling hot in the dining areas, even early in the mornings at breakfast. The juice in the machines was lukewarm. The seafood and Chinese food restaurant were very enjoyable and climate-controlled (as are the teppanyaki and Italian). Great meals and service. The steakhouse was a big disappointment as the steaks are all pan fried, not grilled like a good steak should be. One place to avoid at all costs is the McPrincess snack bar on the beach. Most food is barely edible and the burgers (we tried twice) were always under-cooked to a point of being dangerous. On the plus side the fries were always good. Service - the staff were for the most part friendly and attentive but it can be a LONG wait at the swim-up bar to get a drink. I did not have any money to offer a tip which may have been the reason I was ignored for 20+ minutes despite waiting the longest for service. One person did stand out to us and his name was Claudio. He was always super friendly and took great care of us when we were seated near the pool. The vendors on the beach and around the pool are extremely annoying and some are more aggressive than others for sure - fair warning. Some fun animals and photo ops (available later that night for purchase) around the pool daily with monkeys and parrots. The trams often were full and guests are pushy and aggressive and getting a seat. If you have any manners at all you will probably need to wait for the next one. Better still if you're in no particular rush and have the energy take the ecological path and check out the iguanas, turtles, peacocks, bunnies, ducks and other wildlife along the way. The nighttime entertainment was horrendous! Below amateur - lip syncing, poor preparation, etc. If you want a laugh then by all means check it out but be prepared to be bored quickly. We read all the reviews ahead of time so we were well aware of the poor Wi-Fi in the lobby. We chose to rent a modem for $40 for the week. It was well worth the money. You don't get blazing fast speeds from it but it works for simple things like web browsing and email. Overall we'd have to say that this resort was a three star at best. I don't believe getting the platinum upgrade would have improved things enough to give the Bavaro Princess a higher rating. Relaxing vacation

Grounds beautiful , staff helpful food good ,felt safe . Nightly. Entertainment was fantastic . Beaches were beautiful. However found large coach roaches in room. Rooms were musty. Everything else perfect.

Beautiful vacation

The resort was very beautiful, but the ground was the best. Trees, flowers, birds and even skinny cats. Food was ok. Room was very clean and nice. But the best part was the beach, the water was so nice.

Love this resort!

I am probably the one person that seems to find something wrong with everything...this resort was hard for me to find anything wrong with it. PRO'S: FOOD...the food is very good at this resort. The food was amazing...from the steaks, ribs, prime rib, pasta sauces, freshly made donuts everyday, OMG so much good food! You will not go hungry!! They even had a BBQ on the beach with corn on the cob, baked potatoes, ribs, steak and so on. Another day they had someone making tacos at the beach.There is also another buffet at the beach. The word around the resort was always very good when it came to the food. BEACH AND POOLS..there was always plenty of chairs. You may not get those little huts to sit under but you will find a chair. The beach is clean...there is a little seaweed floating on the water depending on where the wind is coming from but it was not really a problem. The pools are clean and always being cleaned for falling leaves. But this property is very very lush so there is falling leaves in the pool but they kept it very clean. There is a bigger pool by the beach which is more busy,louder and where you will find the entertainment but we stayed at the smaller pool or the beach. ROOMS ...the rooms are very very nice. Very modern and clean. Fridge was daily filled with Sprite, coke and beer. DRINKS...lots of drinks, slushy drinks, beer and lots of ice! STAFF...yes there is a language barrier but the people working mostly at front desk or bar or with the public do speak English!!!. You will find the pool cleaner or gardener not speak English but what do you want...this is their country and not ours It never was a problem for us until I got lost and asked a gardener how to get to my room but I signed 646 and directed me to my room. But everyone was very kind. PROPERTY...is very beautiful with lots of flowers and trees. Very Lush! Is it a big property but there is a cart service that comes by every 10 minutes I think it was. AIR CONDITIONING...seemed not to work very well so we called front desk and they were there within 5 min and this was around midnight...so the service was great. They keep it at 23 C which is a warmer than I keep it at home but we managed....we never complained that we were too hot in our rooms. No one bugged us for time shares. Yes they said hello but that was it...and trust me we have sat with them at other resort for hours because of their sales tactic but not at this resort!! I did meet 2 couples who wanted to change rooms and not because there was a problem with the room but because they wanted to be closer to the beach. Their request was granted right away and they never complained about the resort. CONS: -They can definitely use new pillows. -There was one man who was given a tip by one of the couples we were with. When they gave him the tip he asked for a bigger tip...so they gave him more. Then he came to our table after his shift when we were watching the entertainment. His name was Ricardo. We had a bag of Lindor chocolates on the table and he asked us if he could have 3 for this 3 children that he said were waiting at home. Five minutes later we see him eating the chocolate and throwing the wrapper on the ground. We called him and told him to pick up his wrapper and asked him why he lied to us...of course he had no explanation.( but even this has nothing to do with the resort and only with this individual) I find it very odd when I read some of the reviews because it doesn't sound at all like the resort I was at from April 6-14/2015...and even being Easter week there was not alot of kids not like some of the reviews that I read. If you don't want kids then go to an Adult only resort. We were 6 adults and we had no kids with us. I really cannot say anything wrong...we only heard wonderful things from everyone we met. Actually we met other couples and we all vouched that we would go back to that resort next year....Wonderful place to stay!!!

Excellent resort

The resort was excellent. Staff very accommodating and friendly. Very happy I had the platimum package. Felt like you were on a resort within a resort. A friend recommended it. She stayed there a few times. Would highly recommend It.

Awesome resort!

We love this resort, second time here and will not be our last. Rooms, meals, grounds, pool, beach, everything super. We had Room 893, close to lobby and quiet pool, also close to beach shuttle stop. Cannot wait to come back next year! Loved the crepes by Osirious!

Amazing resort

Grounds were amazing well kept the whole time there. Food was awesome, something for everyone! Staff was wonderful, great service. Our room attendant, Margurita, is one special lady, she could not do enough to please us. Our rooms were amazing, more than we expected. As for the beach............well what can I say. The best beach I was ever on, sand was sooo soft! Will definitely go back!

Great Resort - Highly Reccomend

We’ve been to many Caribbean resorts and would definitely recommend this one. We were at the resort from Feb13 to Feb 20, 2015 and had a wonderful time. Great things: Beach – Beautiful, long beach with powder soft sand – great for a long, lazy walk Room - We were closer to the beach. Our room was a nice, clean, comfy room with king size bed, Jacuzzi tub, tv sitting area. Very happy to have the large umbrella that came with the room! Grounds – The grounds are very well kept with constant maintenance. The ecological area is a lovely, peaceful walk through a small mangrove forest complete with wildlife (fish, flamingos, peacocks, turtles, bunnies) Bars – There are lots of bars so service is usually pretty quick with not too much waiting Staff – The staff are very friendly, helpful, everyone has a cheerful “Ola!” The customer-facing staff speak good English so no worries if your Spanish is not up to par. Cons Plumbing – Not sure that the plumbing is up to the job of so many eating / drinking tourists. Toilets in public areas frequently would not flush. Chairs – Although there were plenty of beach / pool chairs, they were often “reserved” with beach towels. In my experience, this happens at all resorts – but it is still very annoying. Dominican Night vendors – This was unexpected and very uncomfortable as we tried to get through the aggressive vendors to get to the buffet for supper. Prior notice would have been nice so we could have planned another route. Room Tip: Closer to the beach.

Great Beach

The resort is in a very nice location on Bavaro Beach and kept clean. The accomodations are clean but are coming up on some updating required in order to maintain the quality of the resorts. The beach is absolutely awesome and the food is for the most part pretty good I must say. The bars and drinks are of good quality and plentyful of course. One of the biggest thing that lack at this resort was the evening entertainment which was next to non existent. It would be nice to have to shows and vari [... read more]ous type of entertainment found on most resort giving you something to stay up aside from just drinking. The daily activities although they were listed on the board of the main lobby where also non existent. The weather was absolutely gorgeous we had rain for one full day, but aside from that it was nice.

Nice vacation

This resort was very nice! It was clean, several staff available to help you with any questions. the food was great! We had lots to chose from all the time. Our suite.. That is what impressed is... It was gorgeous! Clean, modern and very spacious! We loved it!

We loved it!

The hotel is beautifully kept. The rooms are clean and really cool. We did not upgrade and had absolutely no issue with our room or anything else. The staff is friendly, the a la carte dinners were all amazing. (we did them all except El Pescador) We also did the Lobster Feast which is worth.every.penny!! We absolutely recommend this resort to everyone!!

WOW with a capital W!!!!

The rooms make you feel like Royalty! The staff are absolutely lovely but I did hear of some theft at a wedding. Sad. The ala cartes were good except the Chinese. Service slow and food cold. But the Japanese is an absolute MUST experience. Even the buffets were fabulous. Wished we found the one down by the beach for breakfast sooner. It was magical watching the ocean while you enjoyed morning coffee.

Beautiful Resort

Grounds were absolutely beautiful...food was ok.. Got sick from the Asian a-la-carte..so I wouldnt recomment ordering shrimp..because everyone else didnt get sick..But all they other a-la-cartes were very good..especially the Japenese!!!!!

Great resort

hotel was very nice , rooms were great, stayed in the delux ...food was good (not great, but better then cuba) service was very good , nightlife wasn't very good other then hanging out at the lounge or going to casino/ disco (off resort but sort of connected and by shuttle) I'd recommend going to coco bongo if you like to party and see great entertainment . beach had seaweed all over sand and in water which was annoying , other then that it was fantastic.

AMAZING RESORT!

EVERYTHING WAS GREAT! THE ROOMS WERE BEAUTIFUL! THE BEACH AND POOLS WERE REALLY NICE. THE SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT. THE FOOD WAS REALLY GOOD ESPECIALLY AT THE BELLA PASTA; THE CHEF WAS AMAZING AND FOOD ALWAYS TASTED GREAT!

Wonderful Resort, Relaxation and Beauty

Everything was 5 star worthy. The ecological area was a nice surprise, the beach was clean and well managed by security and placement of beach stretchers and canopies. Food was good, and the service was fantastic. The staff was very friendly and always came to serve you with smiles and drinks. There was no need for us to take the 'train' as we could walk from the beach end room to the lobby in 5-6 minutes. Many shortcuts if you follow the map once or twice. Rooms are fantastic! Great hotel

We just return from this lovely hotel ! Beach very nice and lots of place available, food great don't need reservation we try all of them my favorite was the Italian the only things is that the food at the buffet is not hot enought ! Room was really nice and clean and located half was to beach and lobby ! We will return for sure !
