Great resort

Hotel is very nice and clean. The resort very close to beach with lots if coconut. Loved the beach. Would really enjoy to return. Excellent water park. Great places for kids and big families. Excellent entertainment. Too bad only 2 a la cart and is always full

Relaxing stay!

Overall a very good experience. Not overly impressed with the food. Property is beautiful. Can always find a chair by the pool or on the beach. Great main bar staff (Edwin, Salserine, Polaco, Jimmy). Great mix of international travellers.

Amazing family resort!!!

my family(husband/4 year old son) visited Sirenis Cocotal 7-14 Mar 15. This was our first vacation down south. Our only hiccup was checking in. We arrived at 11 that morning, however, our room wasn't ready until after 4. However, we made the best of it and spent the day at the beach and pool until it was ready. There was nightly entertainment and the only thing i would change about that was it was too late...we would have liked to take out son to see some of it but it didn't start until 930 every night and that was just too late for him. Would recommend taking a family there anytime...

Good resort for families

Overall, the resort is a good one. Service is excellent at the bars and a la carte restaurants, ok in the buffets. Food selection is good in the buffets although the layout seems to create long lines like a school cafeteria. We all really enjoyed the waterpark. There is always lots of shaded seating available at the pool and waterpark. Have to get up early if you want shade at the beach. The beach is long and beautiful. Swimming is restricted to a smaller area due to coral. (you can swim outside [... read more] this area but it may be hard on the feet). Watersports are good. We took a kayak out on the second day of our trip but the remaining days were red flag so this activity was cancelled. The room left something to be desired. It was clean but badly in need of renovation. There was water damage in the bathroom, several times the toilet stopped working and the hairdryer only worked on low. Also, although we requested a room by the beach / pool, we were put in the building closest to the theatre which made going to bed before the show was over at midnight impossible. Not ideal for young kids who've spent the day playing in the sun. Best parts of this resort, Japanese a la carte, pool, waterpark. Worst, the room.

Sirenis Cocotal is a wonderful resort!!!

My husband and I along with another couple travelled to this resort from 31 January to 7 February via Air Canada Vacations out of Toronto. We had a fantastic time and were very impressed with everything about this resort. Check in was very quick and efficient. We arrived later in the evening and were able to go directly to our room. Room was beautiful with gorgeous bathroom and fixtures, hot shower, comfortable bed and pillows. Very clean and housekeeping was excellent. Our restaurant experien [... read more]ces were fantastic. We ate at the Mexican, Steak House and Japanese a la cartes. Food was delicious at each one with great service, friendly and very courteous. Buffet always had plenty of food with different choices. We always sat in Cristian's area for breakfast who kindly reserved our table each morning. Excellent service from all the wait staff. Our coffee cups were always filled with hot, delicious coffee. There are a lot of bars all over the resort and there were never line ups at any of them. Bartenders are friendly, outgoing and ready to please. The beach is gorgeous with plenty of palapas and chairs. It was so nice not to have to rush down at 6 a.m. to reserve your chairs for the day. We sat on the quieter side of the pool area (next to the VIP area). We don't think too many people knew about this area and it was much quieter than the other side. The pool hut opens early and there were always clean, warm towels available. We would recommend this resort to anyone. Very good value and we had a wonderful holiday.

Needs to renovate the big picture

The infrastructure in general is nice...Landscaping, building appearance on the exterior, street appeal, layout etc. The rest needs improvment. The food is terrible, service barely adequate, rooms needs major work, mold in bathrooms where the floor meets the wall, the bottom of the bathroom door is rotten from water , terrible lumpy beds, terrible small lumpy pillows , terrible hard dry towels and limited quantity, furniture in lobby has the seating foam crushed on the furniture from wear and te [... read more]ar, a la carts restaurant food is terrible, got sick from the mussels, Even the food on the beach hut was not good. Uncooked chicken left in the sun for hours before it was grilled. Pizza thin and floury, The nature of their business is to look after guests and feed them and make the guest feel special. Not the case here. Never again. Westjet dropped the ball as well with the flight and the service. Smells like fuel on the beach from the tractors clearing the weeds. If this is a 4 to 5 star resort they need to read the manual on standards. Note; The person that replies to these emails on trip advisor always says the same thing, "Let us know when your back we will make sure your happy." Well these issues should of been dealt with before, People have been complaing about these things long before us.

Great Family Resort

We found the resort clean, even though this resort is for familes with kids because the water park is not in the main area we found the resort pleasant because we did not have kids there but were not overrun by kids because those families were at the water park all day. The food was good (never got sick) Had all the things needed to relax and enjoyed the trip.

Just ok

I'm definitely not a picky person and an easy going traveller. The hotel was not bad in terms of cleanliness but the service was bad. I'm well travelled all though first time in DR. I didn't like the service AT ALL. rooms were Ok with many noisy neighbours. Beaches were superb, pools were nice and clean. The food was no different then Cuban food. It would serve the same for the next day by just adding something to the left overs to make it look different. Very Nice

Everything was clean and the grounds well maintained, but pool shut down to early! Entertainment was fabulous, the entertainer have great talant and will go places. Access to some of the activities such as pool tables and ping pong was a little restrictive and the tables should be upgraded, not level.

A++, Honestly the best vacation I've been on.

I'm here to tell you that this place is nothing short of breathtaking, Service was impeccable, we had gone to Cuba in the past and the food at this resort/in the DR is WAY better, 24 hour food at your disposal, beach is soft white sand and absolutely amazing, the rooms and the resort were very clean/well-kept and I would definitely recommend this vacation. I would also like to personnally say thank you to the 2 best employee's at the resort (Mariyladie (lobby bar) and Jonathan (pool bar))

Love love love it there

I HAVE GONE THERE 5 TIMES NOW AND IN MARCH 2015 I WILL BE THERE AGAIN..LOVE THE STAFF..BEACH ..GROUNDS EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS RESORT..THE PEOPLE THAT WORK THERE ARE AWESOME AND I AM NOT SURE I WOULD GO ANYWHERE ELSE

Fabulous stay

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here in March 2014. The grounds were beautiful, the room was very nice and the staff were fantastic. The only slight quibble was with the food but overall we had a wonderful holiday and would go back again in a heartbeat.
