Amazing Resort

The beaches are amazing and at this resort they were working on picking up sea weed by 6:15 am every morning. Very clean resort. Dated but they are working on it!! No shortage of food. You will always find something you like even if you are a picky eater. The staff work hard to put on evening entertainment. THE BEST entertainment was Alex in the Azul Restaurant. As the evening show finishes Alex will perform in the window for all to see. He was our highlight of the evening.

Great place

Very nice place, friendly staff and good entertainment with lots of activities and outings available, snorkling, places to visit, tours, fishing etc. Good place to relax and wind down.................

This resort is in need of repairs. The rooms are outdated. The grounds itself are nice and well maintained but lot's of things to be done to give this resort the WOW factor and pictures to do it justice not ones from 20 years ago. The food I have to say for Cuba was very good, repetitive but always something to eat. The oriental ala carte was no do good but the steak house was fantastic. This resort was awesome for the price !!!

The hotel was aged , the rooms were clean , the maid service was great ,the food was very good ,the grounds were well kept and the service was very good , the entertement and the beach were awesome !!!!

Will not be returning

There was so many things wrong with our stay I'm not even sure where to begin. I'll start out by saying we are very laid back, easy to please people. Our expectations were not high for the price we paid. However I was shocked with how unsatisfactory our stay was. We had actually booked our vacation at Tryp but got bumped to Sol a few days prior to leaving. So not off to a good start. Once we got there we were told it would be half hour wait for the room. I would have minded the wait so much if it weren't for the fact that we hadn't slept since the day before and I'm a nursing mother and needed to get to the room to pump. Which leads me into my next and biggest complaint.- FOR ALL NURSING MOMS VACATIONING WITHOUT THEIR BABY WHO NEED TO PUMP- an electric breast pump will not work at this resort. Even with the converter we brought, there wasn't enough voltage to power the machine. This meant I had no way of keeping up my supply and had to rely on the one extra set of batteries I had packed to last me the whole week, which of course was ridiculous so I had to significantly reduce the amount of pumping sessions. It was painful and honestly very emotional for me. Food was not good and never readily available. Drinks were way too boozy in the tiny plastic cups unless you sat at the bar to drink them from a real glass even then they were sub par at best. Beds were incredibly uncomfortable. we often found ourselves very bored with nothing to do other than sit at the pool or on the beach. Very pushy for tips. The one pro was that the beaches are BEAUTIFUL. I definitely will not be coming back to this resort though.

Great Resort!

My boyfriend and I were there from Jan. 30 to feb. 6. We had an amazing time! We went to the NIghtclub in a cave, a couple beach parties, and nice restaurants on the resort. The beach was beautiful and the staff was friendly. This was defiantly more of a party resort (no complaints there). Our room was large with a great view. We had running hot water at all times and 24/7 service if there was a problem. Overall it was phenomenal!!

Amazing Beach

This resort could definitely use some updating. We don't believe it should be rated a 4* as advertised. We had no hot water for showering & the shower head was broken. The bed coverings were stained & the room was equipped with bare essentials. The hotel was over priced for what we received ( the beach was pretty awesome though)jerr

Good time

We have stayed at this resort 3 times now. In the last yr they have updated the buffet and plan on updating some rooms..to make them more modern...plan to do 190 in the next year. Upon our arrival we did not get the room we had requested so had to opt for a top floor (which I specifically did not want as no elevator)...but management changed us to the room we requested the next day. We got very poor service and food in the Italian one. Look up the dancing waiter from the International restaurant..he is the best! When getting into the pool it is a very high step down in and then there is another slanted step that is not identified and we saw a lot of people slip here so tried to warn as many as we could also pool is on a downward grade to pool bar and very slippery..so watch your step. Food in buffet was ok..not very hot and same most days. Eat at the beach grill for lunch it is good. If you want peanut butter take it as none there. Nightly entertainment is mostly dancing...but very good kids program. Overall it is an ok resort and I would return.

Awesome resort!!!

Hotel was great! The staff was always super nice and helpful. A lot of them went above and beyond like saving tables for us at breakfast or making special drinks just for us. Room was always clean. Beach was amazing and clean! The ocean was super calm like a pool and saw lots of fish. If you love cats you'll love this resort because they have a bunch of kittens and young cats around the 24hr bar and they're very friendly and love to be fed the lunch meat. Would definitely recommend and return myself!

Family trip

We had a great family trip!! Weather was great, beach was awesome, and drinks were cold!! Great value for price! Nice and relaxing! its a 4 star in Cuba but if you went anywhere else it's more like a 3 star Not complaining... it was good and food was too... it's working on Getting upgraded.... my 2nd time going to that resort...3rd time in Cuba and I would go back!!

Very nice

We stayed the week before Christmas. The resort was well kept and the rooms were very nice. The grounds and the pools were well maintained. The beach was beautiful!!! My only complaint is the food.

A beautiful resort

It is a large property with many coconut trees, nice for walks after meals. the beach is beautiful, you can choose: sections with waves or calm water. Choices of food are acceptable - limited fruits. Paid for coconuts from the gardener or at the beach. Rooms are not acceptable: ground floor room with broken back door, or no AC, or no window in the bathroom , or smell of mold, can be noisy from party guests. Be prepare or ask for far but quiet room. Fantastic Vacation, Two Weeks Was not Long Enough

I stayed there from Dec 8/16 to Dec 22/16. One can't ask for anything more. The trip was great, short drive to the hotel not hours of driving. Clean, relaxing, fresh foods with great chefs and nice music. Ask as many plates as you want for the food you liked and drinks. -Buffet was fantastic with always chefs there to prepare for you on the grill sea food, beef, steaks,chicken, pasta etc.There are always four chefs there in different sections whether for breakfast, lunch or supper to please you and serve you. Buffet it self has great choices of foods and plus chefs are there to cook for you something you like it. - There is a bar opened for 24 hours snacks...good hamburgers with delicious tender meet. If you want some drinks or hungry at 3:00 AM, no problem, just get out of your room and go to 24 hours opened bar to eat and drinks. There are always people who are having fun there. You won't be the only one there. The problem is once you are there you won't go to your room soon because to much fun and you are meeting with too many nice tourists there like every where else at the hotel. - Front desk always offered the best service if you need anything. They are there to help and solve any issues you have. I had absolutly no issues except asked a few questions. People who serve you at the hotel, they all speak English, French of course Spanish. Don't be afraid of not speaking Spanish. I don't speak Spanish but I had no issues or you may practice your Spanish. - The beach was one of the best I have seen in Cuba (first time in Cayo Coco and six time in Cuba), clean, with white sand and some activities with a bar and a restaurant. - The pool is huge, it is impeccable with great service, relaxing, entertainment activities for kids and adults with a fantastic bar service. Pictures tells you all. The only problem I have now, I put 11 lbs on because the food was delicious I ate too much and too many drinks, lol. I could have stayed there an other two weeks. I will recommend this hotel to anyone. You are getting more value than what you are paying for. I have met several people who has been there 23 years. Some of them goes there 4 times a year. Why? Obviously, they are very happy there, feel at home, and secured. Enjoy your trip there.

Tired, seen better days

Hotel has seen better days. Tired, need repairs, 1/3 rooms are closed. Food is poor quality fit the price. No plates for meals, unless you are there when it opens. Same for food selection. Beach not been restored since the hurricane, lack of chairs, towels.

Good vacation

This was our 7th time in Tryp Hotel Cayo Coco and we like it very much. The hotel is a perfect setting. Big swimming pool, buffet restaurant and many a la Carte restaurants. We know lot of people there so we always looking forward to see them again. Food is good, salads, cheeses, cold cuts, lot of fish and meat for grilling, pasta, pizza, good sweets that I must say for sure. Wine and beer is also very good. This time there was no entertainment because there was 9 days mourning of passing of Fidel Castro but people made their own fun. We booked with Tripcentral like always and their services are superb, highly recommended. Thank you Ash Faramarzi, excellent job always.

Poor resort

SORRY TO SAY THIS RESORT IS CALLED (CAT RESORT ) CAT FAMILY EVERY SIDE YOU WALK EVERY ONE IS GIVING THEM TO EAT . ALSO DO NOT SPRAY ENOUGH FOR MOSQUITOS I GOT BITTEN ALL OVER . WHEN YOU REACH THERE THEY SAY NO RESTAURANTS A LA CARTE AVAILABLE ONLY 1 INTERNATIONAL RESTAURANT WHICH YOU CANNOT EAVEN GET A PLACE . Awesome resort

I have been to this resort 12 times and always come back. Have also brought my 8 year old son there twice and only place he wants to visit. Always clean beautiful beach and friendly staff. Only negative is there are a couple of blocks of rooms that do need some redecorating but still clean Will always return here.

Beautiful stay

Clean rooms and grounds. Perfect beach. Great food and drinks. Staff are first rate! Lots of good fishing and snorkeling.Bike rides were fun and atv and scooter rentals are available. Also nearby horseback riding. Hobie cat sailboats and speedboats also for rent. So always something to do. If your hobby is drinking then you will be very happy for sure! And you have to try a good cuban cigar even if you dont smoke.

Pro: Beach, Staff, Activities! Cons: Rooms

If you want to have a great beach vacation, go here. If you want to sleep in your room, go somewhere else. Great atmosphere, non stuffy, good food, great dancing! Fave out of 3 other hotels (colonial, flamenco, pestana) in Cayo Coco!

Amazing!

A group of us went here for a grad trip and we absolutely loved it! The food was really good! The beach was also incredible and you could snorkel right off the resort. I would for sure recommend Tryp!
