Great resort

For a three star resort I think it should be a four star resort just because of how friendly all the employees are. They are all remarkable staff.Rooms are a little dated but who really cared as they were nice and clean. Food was very good. There is not any negative remarks that I can think of. Good resort for your bucks

Fantastic Resort!

The staff are wonderful! Sulaine at the Lydia Restaurant was great, so helpful and fun! Our rooms were always clean. Every restaurant and the buffet had a great selection of food. Beach entertainment was great. Very nice beach for walking. Our guide for the catamaran on the resort beach was very knowledgeable and friendly on our water tour. The beach vendors were pushy and a few of the men beach hackers were extremely pushy. The beach vendor with nickname ‘Cloud’ talked our group in to a d [... read more]ay trip around the island with great promises. He made his tour sound like it would be fun and he would share his knowledge of his island. The only thing he told us that was the truth, was he provided lunch. He was to supply drink in a cooler but it was empty, he said we would drink it all if he bought it all at once. The price we paid, the cooler should have been full! When we asked a question about the island, he would say....why would you want to know that. Never would he tell very much about the island history. His language was vulgar and his attitude was very bad. He even had the gall to stop and buy his dope while we were in his vehicle. He would drive by houses and yell at them looking for someone to come out and sell to him. Worst tour ever! Avoid him! The resort is very nice and the people who work there are wonderful! Highly recommend this resort.

A Truly amazing gem

This hotel is rated low due to be a little dated but they make up for it in service. The hotel may be dated but is extremely clean. I never saw a bug through out the facility during my week stay. We had a king suite and it has the most amazing view from our balcony, you could sit and watch the sun go down each night. The staff there are what makes this place great. Great Vacation

We had a wonderful time at the resort. The beach was absolutely beautiful along with the weather as well we did not have many of the locals constantly bothering us during the day and when we said no they moved on. The pool clean and you could always find a lounge chair. The service at the bar was very good and they made sure that they looked after you quickly. The staff that were there to entertain you were hard working and made sure that you were having good time. Ann Marie did an outstanding job making. We meet on of the staff and his name was Quincey, he had an outgoing personality and was very friendly with a greta smile and time to chat no matter had busy. Thanks Quincy. All round we had a fantastic trip to Antigua.

I’d go back!

The beach was SPECTACULAR with great pools and plenty of sitting areas and huts all around. Although the restaurants and hotel were slightly dated in appearance the great food, staff and entertainment made up for the decor. We enjoy going to the Caribbean and don’t need the big lavish hotels because for us it’s about the beach and the food. We would go back next week if we could and have already recommended this hotel to others!

Amazing beach and spectacular service in a resort

Amazing beach and spectacular service in a resort, I would recommend to everyone to spend most enjoyable time at Starfish Lolly Beach Resort, it is our the best vacation so far. The restorations and buffet are also is very good.. and don't forget to share you love to your beloved one on lobster dinner right on front of beautiful sunset.♥♥

LOVED IT !!!!!

This beautiful resort exceeded our expectations. We will be returning and bringing friends. Do not bother buying EC Currency no one wants it. Take full advantage of entertainment ** new things every night **. Shout out to Dale F&B Manager :) and our fun bartender Zauda : ). Lobsterfest was amazing :). Buffet Dinner on the beach was a great surprise after not being able to get into Lydia's. We had a King Superior room which met our needs fine. Alright resort

The hotel was dated. The workers were ignorant. Very noisy if you were in the area of the night life or buffet. Pool was dirty. No person attended the swim up bar. Shows were all performed outside. The was free wifi the beach was the nicest part of the resort. No 24 hour snack bar. No water in the rooms, if you want to use the safe in the room you had to pay for it. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Beautiful Beach!!!!

The hotel was outdated but if you don't care about that, it is the place to go!!! The beach, food and service was amazing!! The beach vendors can be a little pushy, but if you say no enough they end up leaving you alone

Good Resort

Starfish Jolly Beach Resort is a older resort but well taken care of. It is clean.The beach is fabulous with great sunsets. The food is very good and the restaurants are all good. We did have a problem with our toilet and the office moved us to another upgrade room. The staff are all so friendly.They almost bend over backwards for you.Pools well maintained and lots of bars. Relaxing resort

Resort is well maintained, rooms are small, but clean. Repairs are carried out in a timely fashion. Fresh water is available at each bar. Restaurants have a good selection of food. Have a program for children. Entertainment at night good, if not a bit repetitive. Beach area clean, and while we were there, construction on some sun shelters was under way. Staff friendly and courteous. Sunwing reps an amazing source of information.

Amazing bang for your buck

The beach and the view were worth a million dollars.Stunningly Beautiful sunsets and sunrises,hot beautiful weather with a nice breeze, the water was an amazing beautiful blue,and friendly, beautiful people, Hotel has character,(little old). Food OK. Travelling around on your own completely safe.. Going on bus to St Johns easy, cheap and hassle free. Highly recommended. Room was small but clean. Perfectly fine. Not enough shade at the pools which kept us on the wonderful beach. (Hardly a sacrifice) Would go back in a heart beat.

Quiet and enjoyable!

Staff was amazing... supersaver room was very small but when we asked to upgrade they accommodated us within 30 mins! Rooms were clean and the beach was amazing. Not a ton to do but an amazing spot to relax with some rum punch on the beach!

Best service

This is a very good resort. Very clean, organized, good food and most relaxing place. We really enjoy this resort and planing to ho back. The Italian restaurant is the best. The hamacas are very nice. The entertainment is very good. No drunk people and excelente for a family vacation

Awesome holiday - very laid back relaxing resort!

This hotel/ resort is very well laid out. The staff are amazing and work very hard. The food selection was good on regular nights but on theme nights such as "Welcome Night" or "Beach Party" it was excellent. The beef was as good as ours - not the usual tough Caribbean steak. Roasted vegetables and fruits were plentiful. The cooked entrees could have been kept at a hotter temperature for my liking. It would be nice to have two more public washrooms available all the time, as one just isn't en [... read more]ough. This was my second time at this resort and other than the new pool, not much has been updated. It is however clean and all is in working order. You get more than your moneys worth at this resort. My only complaints are not with the resort or with trip central as both were very nice and worked hard to make this vacation one of my best ones. However Sunwing put a real damper on this holiday by throwing in a stop over both ways and making us get off the plane with all our carry on luggage and duty free to drag it to gate 7 and then be told to go to gate 11 only to be turned back to gate 7. My husband and I are seniors and found this exhausting. On the way home our paid for seats were given away and I had to fight to get them back. I pre-booked so that we could sit together. The manager glared at me and told the staff to give us our seats and to offer better seats to the people who were given our seats. We should have been given better seats due to their mix up and an apology would have been appropriate! Also I purchased full insurance and had an accident that caused me to loose my glasses. I tried 3 times to call the insurance to get help but was left on hold each time. I am blind without my glasses so I could not enjoy myself. The staff at the resort were so good to me and found a mobile eye centre open, booked me an emergency appointment and got me a taxi that would wait for me and bring me back. This was so nice of them and really appreciated by me! Sunwing insurance told me that glasses are not covered under baggage loss. I have another fight on my hands because they were lost from an accident on the resort not a baggage loss. *Beware of male with dreadlocks in a blue shirt who is selling catamaran tours on the beach. I think he may be from Jolly Harbour. He gets quite belligerent if he can't sell to you.

Loved the Starfish

We stayed as a family of 4 at the Starfish. We had an amazing vacation.The grounds are currently being updated which is nice. Its a very laid back place great for families. They treat all the kids so well, like they are friends. Drinks flow freely and the beach is to die for!

Beautiful Resort

I loved this resort. The rooms may have been a little outdated but the resort itself was great! They had nice suppers at the beach, karaeoke nights, dances, everything to keep the night fun! The restaurants were really good too. Great food! The staff was all really friendly! The beach was just beautiful! 1 mile sandy beach by the beautiful bright blue water. We took advantage of the sunset hike offered once a week. I would recommend this resort to anyone!

A Jolly good time indeed!!!!

Do not let the 3* rating fool you! We have stayed at many A.I.'s, but this one was by far one of the nicest. Terrific staff, stunning beach, and non-redundant food. Rooms need a little face lift, however, are clean. Grounds are well maintained.

A Hidden Gem of Antigua

After reading all the reviews we didn't know what to expect. Nervous yet excited to see the island of Antigua. A 3* never sounded good but we rolled the dice and went with it. We are usually 4* or 5* travellers always. This was our first experience at a 3*. We are middle aged. We went without our child so kids club and entertainment wasn't something we cared for. If you  [... read more]want to enjoy the beautiful island of Antigua at an affordable price the Starfish Jolly is the way to go. Check was perfect as we did it at the airport. Rooms were OK but clean. We had a king bed and a nice balcony with an ocean/pool view. The beach was breathtakin 6*+ and the pools a 3*-4. Needed a good paint job and lights for them at night. I think that would of made the resort nicer. I've never seen better. Everyone was friendly. The buffet was great for breakfast and OK for dinner and lunches. A la carte restaurants were amazing. You booked daily between 4-6 for any of the 3 - Mexican, Italian (dress code) & Seafood. All restaurants upcharged for specialties. We didn't need to upgrade as the food we ordered was awesome. Out of 7 nights we had 6 a la carte dinners. Pool was large and clean. The resort itself was not super busy. Lots of chairs and beach space everywhere. Entertainment was good. Nothing fancy. Wifi free in the lobby area only. You can upgrade for $10 per day for in room wifi. The only downfall was the air - it wasn't as cool as we would of liked ad they only offered a sheet for the bed. No blankets. And NO fridge or beverages/water in rooms. We walked to the local grocery store for water. Close to Jolly Harbour with shops and dining. Resort has a small store for souvenirs and everyday needs. We rented a car from Pierce at the resort. $70. It was best $70 we spent. We also purchased an excursion on the Excellence (catamaran) that toured us around the island for $120 pp. Service to and from airport on time. Overall we loved this resort. Does it need updates.....yes. A little TLC this resort will be up to par. 1/2 hr ride from aiport. The staff make this resort pleasurable. I would definitely recommend this resort for travellers looking for an amazing escape at a very affordable price. We called it the hidden gem of Antigua.

Great Beach!! Friendly Staff and Nice Resort

The beach was amazing and the resort was clean but needs some updating. It looks like they are working on the hotel and grounds. Staff very nice and the food was good as well. nothing more to add, nothing more to add
