6th vacation at Brisas Guardalavaca

Our family of 7 (4 adults and 3 children 2, 9 & 9) stayed at this resort for one week. We were in the villa section of the resort. Rooms 2110 & 2111. (very close to the pool & ocean) The rooms haven't changed much over the years. Our room had NO hot water so we showered in our daughters room next door. The front desk was made aware of the problem but nothing was done about it. The resort is very clean. We all enjoyed the pool & beach. (the ocean was warmer than the pool) The food was good. We d [... read more]id not take advantage of the a la carte restaurants. We found that there was enough good food at the buffets to satisfy our appetite for the young and old. The children loved the ice cream parlour & donut shop outside the main buffet area. That was their everyday go-to treat. Roberto's pizzeria has always been a favorite place in the afternoon for a snack .It is nice to see the same staff with friendly smiles everyday. High fives to the bartenders at the villa section and beach bar. They were always "over the top" friendly! One of the children needed stitches on day one and the service at the medical centre was top-notch. (had to pay up front...no direct billing. $160.00 Canadian) All week the staff around the resort was asking her how she was feeling. That made her feel good that they remembered her and that they were concerned about her well being. Children's nightly entertainment was always a highlight at the end of the day (8:20pm) Rate of exchange was 1.29 (100 cdn converted to 71 pesos) It was nice to be able to keep our room for free until 4pm the day we were leaving. (our bus wasn't picking us up until 6pm) This is a perk for repeat customers. You have to get a chit from GUEST SERVICES at the main lobby. As well if you have a little one (baby) it is apparently free until 4pm on check-out day. All in all the weather was beautiful, the ocean was clear and warm and the food was good. We may be back in 2020.

Good times at Brisas.

We had some good times during our stay at Brisas Guardalavaca. The building is showing signs of age, but they do a reasonable amount of maintenance. The outdoor furniture is kept clean and tidy and the beach was raked every night. The entertainment team had activities for all ages every day with a good mix of traditional and modern music. Brisas Guardalavaca

Air Canada flight perfect, greeting at the Holguin airport perfect, was at the hotel 15 years ago and lots of improvements, food was good, beach was good, entertainers were not very involved in their duties but great place to go on a budget, enjoyed my time a lot

Great resort with many repeat guests

The hotel sits on a very nice beach with lots of shaded areas and chairs. The grounds are kept very clean and beautiful. Villas have received some updates in the last two years but accommodations are basic. We had hot water everyday and the air conditioning worked well. Everyone is always made to feel welcome and the large number of repeat guests says it all.

Amazing resort

We spent 2 weeks in January there and stayed at villa section Beautiful landscaping, most beautiful beach I’ve been, Crystal blue water, plenty of space under the sun and the shed, Resort was full but we never waited to long to get drinks or food in the restaurant Very attentive staff and I wanted to say special thank you to our cleaning lady sorry can’t remember her name ( room 7108) She kept our room in a perfect shape and if you requested bath towels and bedding sheets changed you  [... read more]got it when you need it Food was hot and big variety to choose from You can order a romantic dinner on the beach for 15 pesos per person and you won’t regret it It was just perfect and we enjoyed it for my husband birthday We had huge lobster very yum but you can order your food when booking Overall I highly recommended this resort ( we’ve been to Cuba 10 times in different locations) This place was the first one we wanted to return Stay open minded and enjoy your holiday

Great Value

The hotel is nice but the rooms were really showing it’s wear as I have been here three times previously. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were cleaned to satisfaction. We found that unless you went out by 7:00 am to get a lounge chair by the ocean you were out of luck as there was not near enough of them. Found that some people at the next adjoining resort were able to walk right to our resort without being stopped and turned away after someone got up and left a chair they would take t [... read more]hem.The two pools were kept clean however the hot tub was cloudy and dirty so didn’t even go in it.The service was excellent and the food was quite good. The entertainment at night was adequate. It is a 3 1/2 star resort and you do have to realize that and expect it. Overall I would rate it 3 1/2 out of 5 as well.

Second visit in a year

It feels like home to us

The grounds are well kept, as is the lovely beach. The food is, well, Cuba. The a la carte restaurants are much better than the main buffet. I always stay in the Villa section now, as the rooms are larger and newer. We did have a leak, in the bathroom above the toilet. We were told it was from the AC, but we weren't running the AC. The staff here are always friendly and welcoming, that's why this was my 7th stay here; it feels like home.

Great value and servixe

We had a great experience starting with the staff welcoming us dancing Guantanamera to the food and drinks(everything for every taste). The beach is awesome, we always had loungers available and the staff was very friendly. The only recommendation is to prepare with patience if you are going to order pizza from the snack bar, it goes very slow.... Also as non-smokers we found too many people around smoking in all the places, there should be designated areas so non smokers can enjoy the beach an [... read more]d pool areas without being smoked on.

Is an amasing Resort

Excellent service ,we been there 10 times and we will go again soon,The staff at the Hotel are friendly and Nice ,Very well maintain the hotel Looks. The playa is Clean and very well Keep. Thank you.

Very good for the money!

the hotel is supert clean, also outside area. fast service and polite. the food is good and hot most of the time, the " a la carte " restaurants the quality is down a bit from last year. the beach is nice and also very clean. I give it a 4 stars.

Fantastic Resort

This is the 3rd time we have been here but this time we brought a couple of friends with us. We love this resort. It is clean and the staff are very caring and helpful. The grounds are immaculate and it is right at the beach. The food is lovely and even the pickiest eater will find something they love. We are all looking forward to going back again next year.

Amazing resort

Fourth time at the resort and they are always improving it. The entertainment staff go out of their way to ensure young and old are getting involved. I have heard so many complaints about the food in Cuba yet the four of us had plenty enough to eat and lots of variety. My only complaint would be the milk and there are certainly other things that can go in coffee. Can't wait to return and are planning to renew our vows on our 25th Anniversary and nothing would be better than the beach at Brisas.

Never again!

I just want to forgot about the fact that we paid so much money for the most unpleasant room, terrible food and very unpleasant service and the reception desk. We had to change our room because it was actually a safety hazard. Another room was better but still awful. Thankfully the beach was nice and some part of resort too, entertainment was fine.

Great resort for a break

We have been at a few resorts in Cuba over the years but have to say this was one of the better ones. The service was super like always, just amazing people my Cuban friends we love them. Nothing is to much they always find a way to please you and make your stay enjoyable. The food was also good, enough to choose from and the taste was good. The room were a little older but so is my house Lol The house keeping did there utterly best to keep everything clean which is not an easy task with so [... read more] many guests, thumbs up girls and boys a job well done. We are looking forward to our next stay at this resort.

Anazing vacation

the persolanity and service was perfect the people working in hotel very kind i really want to go to this hotel again i try to bring my friends and coleg to visit this hotel thiere is alor of activety and nices pools

Was not impressed by the resort

The resort was maybe a 2 star itself. The only people that were friendly were the bartenders. The beach was great and food was okay. A lot of families with lots of kids. The night entertainment was for kids so I was not impressed at all. The resort also had a lot of fire ants and I was attacked by them. I will not be returning there ever again.

Brisas Good

Enjoyed Brisas Guardalavaca Cuba. Second time vacationing there. Wonderful service from Carol at Trip Central. Unfortunately the timing put us in the middle of the flight cancellations and delays of recent Cubana Air. Carol and Trip Central will be hearing from me again in the future.

Very nice resort

A very bright and clean hotel. Very friendly staff. Large lobby with excellent WiFi . Many areas for dinning and snacking. Two large pools with swim up Awesome beach with a wide sidewalk that runs the length of it so you can find a spot before entering the sand. totally relaxing.

3 1/2 star

The hotel was nice the beach was nice, the food ok overall hotel was nice so far from airport though the rooms were good and the beach and service was ok, would not go back there, don't know what else to say I have been at better.
