Dreams certainly lived up to their reputation!!

Beautiful and excellent resort with the best staff around --- typical of the Dreams resorts we have experienced so far. The one sprawling pool is really neat but could be a little of a downside if you are looking for a pool that is deeper than 3 feet. Definitely lots of quiet areas around the long, winding pool, however the activity area can get somewhat crowded and congested if that is where you choose to be. Food is fabulous at Dreams and Dreams Punta Cana certainly lived up to this rep [... read more]utation. And the staff ALL go above and beyond to engage guests and make them truly have a great time and be happy. It's a delight to go somewhere where there are actually too many staff to make shout-outs for!! :) We will definitely continue to have Dreams as our preferred chain to stay at when travelling to the Caribbean. A+ all the way!!!

No wow factor

We have no complaints about the hotel room (we had a deluxe family room - in block 3), it was spacious and met our needs. The property was clean and well laid out. The pool was great - spacious and clean. The food was great - the themed restaurants offered great variety and the main buffet always had something interesting. Staff were attentive and responded to requests well. My let downs came with the Beach and the Kid's club. -We saw Red Flags all of the 7 days we were there - not sur [... read more]e if it was due to the time of year, or the side of the island, but we missed out on any and all water activities and just being at the beach. -The kid's club was also disappointing. There is a water slide and play ground for 3-12 yr olds - no parents allowed. This means that we were not able to be with our kids and the times they were allowed to use those features were very limited. My girls (4 and 5 1/2 - were not thrilled and did not want to go back - we sent them there 3 times). Other children seemed to like it, so it just might not have been right for our girls. Overall we enjoyed our vacation - but 7 days in the pool was more than enough, and not what we had planned to do.

Nice Resort

The resort has a lot of good qualities. The food was amazing and a lot of detail in the presentation of it. Rooms were comfortable. The pool is the highlight of the resort for us. Negatives were the beach was very windy and red flagged 5 out of 7 days. It rained for a bit every day. By the end of the week everything felt damp. Take a couple of swim suits so you don't have to put a cold damp one back on the next day. A lot of inconsistency with small things, one day no face cloths, next day  [... read more]you get one another day you get two and no bath mat you have to use a towel. Candles on all tables in the restaurants but the don't bother to light them. The only thing about the buffet(world cafe) was inconsistency with the table settings. Eg. Some days only 3 coffee cups at a table of 8 some of would have spoons and some didn't. We we go back? No, not to this Island. We might try another AMresort again but not in the Dominican.

Amazing resort!

Just got back from yet another wonderful stay at Dreams Punta Cana! This was our second visit to this beautiful resort and we can't wait to go back! I cannot say enough about the outstanding treatment we received here. Hats off to our wonderful maid (sorry forgot her name), to Jean Carlos for the beautiful room, to Jackson and Yonis for making us laugh while we drank and to all the rest of the staff for always wearing a smile! Dreams, Punta Cana, just really dreamy

Let's start with the problems. My wife and I arrived at Dreams on Sunday, Aug 21, and were not able to get our booking request of a 2nd floor unit, but was put on the 3rd floor. When arriving at our room, we noticed that the A/C was not working, but since we were tired, used the ceiling fan and waited until the morning. On Monday morning, we approached the concierge at the Preferred Club, and explained about the A/C, and was told that it was resort wide, and it will be fixed by 3:00pm. The A [... read more]/C was still not working that night, so the next morning we approached the concierge again, and was told that there were no rooms available to move to. I requested an upgraded room with A/C, but was told it was $60/day extra, we declined, but finally were moved on Wednesday, 4 days later. Upon arrival at Dreams, we were told to meet with the Air Transat person at 9:00am the next morning. We arrived promptly, and were told he was late, we waited until 10:00am and left. We returned Tues, Wed, Fri, and Sat at 9:00am to see him. Other travel operators said that he rarely showed up at this resort. WHY IS HE BEING PAID, AND WHY ARE WE NOT GETTING ANY SERVICE. Having paid for the Preferred club, our luggage was to be picked up at 1:30pm on the day we were leaving. We waited until 2:00pm and he never showed, so we took our luggage ourselves, fearing we would miss the transportation. Now for the pleasing part of our trip. The Preferred club had excellent A/C, and great snack foods, for each meal. A special commendation to Andre and Jilbert, they did an extremely great job in serving us. The servers at the beach were very excellent as well. We were quite impressed with their service. The food at all of the restaurants was very good, and great service. The grounds were well kept, but the rooms need to be updated. There were complaints of leaking water, no A/C, and no place to put your clothes, other than hanging them up (no dressers) I will not be returning to this resort.

Nice resort

Resort was nice. The grounds where hard to navigate around tho. Food was ok nothing to write home about Staff was friendly and accommodating. Wedding I attend was well put together the planner did an awesome job.

Beautiful Resort

Staff were extremely friendly and always willing to please you. The grounds/gardens were beautiful. Plenty of shade by the pool and at the beach. There were never enough bartenders ...at the beach barandlobby bar. The sports/disco bar only had 1 bartender who worked extremely fast. We were there as a large group who all paid the same but got different sizes of rooms. Rooms were cleaned regularly but no consistency with who received snacks, bed turn downs etc.

Best Resort Ever

Fantastic loved every minute at this resort the people that work here put a smile on my face every day { I love my job }, the food was excellent and especially loved the winding pool wished I could have stayed longer

Dreams Punta Cana is paradise

Excellent all inclusive experience. Food was excellent. Loved not having to book a la carte restaurants. Customer service was truly excellent. Staff tried to go above and beyond to make customers happy.

Superior Service

Staff were always friendly and helpful. Grounds were immaculate. Loved the free form pool enabling us to swim the full length of the resort at our leisure. Abundance of lounge chairs and pool floating mats. Never felt crowded because of the pool design. Loved all the food, including buffets, restaurants and beach and pool BBQ's. The evening entertainment was fantastic and exceeded our expectations. We loved our room with the beautiful view from the 3rd floor. We had no complaints at all. Exceptional service

I just returned and I have to say it was the best resort I've been to yet. The service was exceptional , the resort was beautiful, the food was fantastic , the people very friendly and helpful and everything everywhere was clean from the beach to the rooms to the food areas.I would like to note that our concierges Melania and Mary went above and beyond to make our stay extra special. All of the ladies at the entrance of the buffet were such a pleasure to see every morning and the waiters inside  [... read more]were very attentive. Plan on returning.

Dream come true at dreams

Mature grounds, well kept gardens and pools, excellent facilities, everything clean and in good working order. .Never crowded. Moderate size but all areas easily accessible. Staff friendly and well versed in a variety of languages. Fodd and beverages were excellent.

Amazing resort

This was a great spot, staff was very accommodating , food exceptional, an overall great resort to go to. If any draw back it is there is a lot of walking with no pickup spots. This was very hard on me.

Great resort

Great resort and amazing beach. The staff keep this resort neat and tidy. This has to be one of the only resorts where the staff (front desk, bell boys, groundscrew, entertainment, bartenders, tstaff, cleaning staff) constantly ask how you are doing and if everything is okay. The food is excellent. We ate in the buffet, oceana, Italian and French the sports area had everything you could think of. The grounds have beautiful gardens, parrots in the tree by main lobby, flamingos and peacocks! The o [... read more]nly negatives if any was our room was a bit dated, it was clean but there were signs of some wear and tear. It is a large resort with no golf carts so you need to walk a lot which may be an issue for those that cannot walk far. I would highly recommend this resort.

First Class Resort

This resort is one of the nicest and cleanest places we have stayed at. The pool area and beach is spectacular. The people working at the resort are friendly and accommodating. The food and restaurant choices are also top notch.

Good overall experience

Overall, we had a good experience. Our group was a total of 21, parents and teenagers. The grounds are lovely and well maintained. The food was above average. The staff were very friendly and engaging. The rooms are in need of upgrading, especially the bathrooms. In my opinion, this hotel rates 4 stars.

Decent

Nothing special staff can be annoying I got sick off the food there resort is far from town I had a good time made the best of it but I wouldn't return to this hotel I've been too dreams cancun Riviera and dreams punta Cana cannot even compare

A Wonderful Return Trip

Anybody who is not happy here has problems. Lovely grounds, good food, friendly staff, adequate rooms and a pool that swimmers could die for. Fabulous beach for walking. Can be very windy at times but waves are great to watch and play in.

Great Family Oriented Resort

My family (husband, two daughters and their husbands and two grandchildren aged 8 & 10) had a wonderful vacation at Dreams Punta Cana. The grounds are outstanding, food plentiful and very good. The entertainment team worked so hard to keep us all happy...can't say enough good things about them. Only con would be the rooms which were a little smaller and tired looking than the pictures indicated and the bathrooms dark. Loved everything about it!

My husband and I plus my mom and dad, sister, hubby and 2 kids just came back from this resort and it was fantastic!! We would go back in a heartbeat. Yes the rooms could use a bit of an update and my dad wished there was a dresser drawer but we barely spent time in our rooms. The grounds are lush and beautiful, my favorite part was walking to the beach each day and stopping to look at the flamingos and coy pond! The food was incredible. I'm gluten free, and only eat chicken and there was still  [... read more]lots for me to choose from. The a la carts were incredible and the line ups moved quickly for them. The beach was always clean and the entertainment staff was so friendly and involved with not just getting us to do stuff but they took an interest in all our needs and life's. Ana, Super Luis, chocolate #1, Sandy beach and Benjamin Franklin are awesome to hang with! My one and only complaint which took away from the 5 stars was the wait it sometimes took to get drinks. The bar staff could be very slow at times so double up when you can! Nightly entertainment was cool as well. If you're into going off the resort, I actually spent a day doing animal rescue with a local group called Rescatame. I was able to learn a lot about their culture and see some beautiful areas and for free! You just need to donate your time! Please don't go swimming with the Dolphins at any location and please don't ride the horses as they try to sell and the owners do not treat either animals fairly so please don't support this and this is coming from many locals as well. If you do choose this resort you will have a blast! Oh and for $37 I brought a full suitcase with kids clothes, toiletries and dollar store items which I left small piles every morning for the maids with a couple of bucks and the look on their faces was pure joy. They need all they can get especially shoes of all sizes as they are hard to come by down there! Hope you have as much fun as we did!
