Disappointing trip

We just came back from grand Bahia principe I Jamaica on July 1st This is our third time in Jamaica and our third time to Bahia principe( previously in Mexico and Dominican) Unfortunately we didn’t get the trip we hoped for comparing to both the destination and the resort The service was extremely bad. Most of the employees don’t even look at or ask you about what you need sometimes we waited for over 40 minutes to get scup of milk for my little daughter. Changing the plates wasn’t e [... read more]ven an option except with one or two waiters The food wasn’t as expected. You almost can’t find anything to eat besides the grilled chicken and the pasta. A lot of the food tasted so fishy and strong. The bread was almost always stale and barely enough fruits for the guests. The cold cutes didn’t even look good to try Even though the a La carte restaurants were really good The beach was nice as usual In Jamaica The rooms were clean enough but we always had one towel less than what we needed even tough it was requested from the cleaning lady The security and life guards did a great job doing their jobs properly and keeping kids and parents happy The staff wasn’t that friendly as usual

Great family vacation resort

Older building with some areas needing better maintenance but quite comfortable. The room is large and has good air flow. Food is not quite 4-star plus but variety is amazing. This place definitely has something for everyone. Pools and children play pools are great. We North American probably be a little nervous about the water slides for kids. These slides are too fast for both my kid and my hubby. Overall is good. Recommended.

Noticeably not the same

We have been to this resort 3 times and this time the food quality was very very poor, the service was also not what it used to be . Called several times with no answer and then waited for 2 days for things we needed . We even tried the upgrade to luxury side and moved back the next day as it was not worth the money at all. Also the resort was not full but yet they would not accommodate getting us a room with 2 beds , so I had to sleep on a very uncomfortable rollaway and end up on the couch a [... read more]ll week. Resort good but can use some upgrading

Overall experience was good. Needs some upgrades which has started. From the time me and my husband got to the hotel, sales rep was behind you to purchase excursions or go to their presentation. We book excursions for Doom buggy for 2 ppl seeing I wanted to be with my husband together, The representative (Kenny) in the hotel lobby sold us that( so he said) The day of excursion, we were taken to’ Chukka’ when it should be ‘Yeamann’ Chukka did not had doom buggy’s period and ATV was onl [... read more]y for 1 person so me and my husband had to drive separately, which was our concern. Then we were not told that you needed close toe shoe for event, so my husband had to buy another shoe there seeing he was wearing an open toe sandals. Once we got back to the hotel, Kenny was always not available, we finally got hold of another rep, even they were not able to get hold of Kenny. Our trip ended, we came back home and still did not get an answer. We found out these rep’s do not work for the hotel, they’re from outside that works on Comission . The hotel needs to crack down on these behaviours so they don’t ruin their reputation

AMAZING!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This trip was incredible!! The staff, the food, the pools, the entertainment, the rooms…. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We are already planning our next trip back. We loved everything about this resort! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I would recommend this to everyone!

Good resort, confusing checkin!

To start off with, we missed an entire day of our trip. We arrived in Jamaica at 2:30PM and didn’t end up getting into our room until 10:30PM at night, meanwhile we were back and forth waiting for them to find the room we originally booked. This was a huge inconvenience on trip centrals part, however the resort was amazing and the people were very friendly.

Nice hotel

the property is very big and friendly staff had a great time , not the best beach but still ok .food and drinks was good. Place is 15 years old need some maintenance. nightly shows are great .had to settle for late dinner appointment but the food was good like the wine service.

Beautiful resort

Beautiful resort, rooms are a little dated, could be more upgraded. Grounds are nicely done, beaches are pretty good, not a long beach though. Cleaning staff were very friendly and very thorough. We love Bahia Principe resorts.

Very nice

Very big resort, lovely rooms with huge bathrooms. Hallways to rooms that are carpeted are very grungy. Food was great in the buffet, there was an adult only breakfast Buffett a little further around the veranda that not too many knew about, a great find. Restaurants were good, make reservations as soon as you get there and don’t let them tell you they are full, you’ve paid for them with your all inclusive deal. The beach right out front of the resort has some big rocks in it but the beach over to the side of the resort is quite nice. If you walk a bit further around the beach there is a fenced off area beside the beach bar that is the nude beach.

Best beach in Jamaica!

We’ve been to Jamaica many times and this was hands down the best beach we’ve been to! It’s soft white sand and you can walk out to shallow water for ever. Some really fun snorkelling right off shore. Food was great. Whatever they’re grilling fresh on the buffet was delicious. The jerk chicken at lunch was to die, we had it every day! Great service for us and our kids. The beach party was so fun, live music almost every night. We would go back in a heartbeat!

Beautiful Resort - Stay Disappointing for the 5 star rating

Pool and grounds expansive and very well groomed; accommodations (superior jr suite) slightly dated but clean and presentable )both tub/shower present); fridge not regularly stocked with water and inadequate amt of towels (needed to consistently request for both); al La carte bookings a MESS!!! Very disappointing as their system (despite online booking capability) is not current and not available in the restaurants (restaurants depend on hard copy print out). - as such walk-ins happen regularly [... read more] and guests with allocated al La carte dinners cannot obtain their allotment - despite empty tables being evident; guest services not at the desk consistently hence not Available to help and when finally managed to meet with them admitted that yes al La carte bookings are a mess - so make sure you book these on arrival; West Jet, on site representative, not helpful AT ALL; Infact at the orientation meeting their focus was to sell you a tour package and not tell you the things that would make your stay more comfortable ie al La carte bookings; West Jet take note - as this reflects poorly on your trips to this destination; hotel and restaurant staff friendly; house wine BELOW ADEQUATE this applies to both the white and red; bottles of wine can be purchased at al La carte but some of their pricing was RIDICULOUS eg Santa Margherita - Pinot Grigio (CD 20.95) was approx 90 US (🙈); more reasonably priced wines were not available or sold out and not replaced; lastly duration of drop offs/ pick -up slightly over 2 hrs (total time from airport to/from resort) - for my preferences that is too long; given my above views, I would not be rebooking any time soon and most certainly it is not a 5 star resort !

Great resort

Great resort, good food selections, nice beach area, great service. Rooms were good but cleanliness of floors could be better. Buffet restaurants Covid-19 protocols good hand sanitizer sprayed on everyone’s hands entering as well as when entering the buffet area. Overall great resort!

Nice resort

communication is bad. A call at the front desk is ignored at night.If there was an emergency one would be left to fend for themselves with dire consequences.We had a water leak from the floor upstairs in the bathroom and the entrance, and were lucky we did not slip and fall as it was at 11 at night. After calling the front desk and no body answering we made our way all the way to the lobby. Will be back

What can I say. This holiday was well needed after the two years we just had and I think was just as happy to have us back. This resort is beautiful… big yes but beautiful. Pools are great. Always could find a place around the pool, didn’t need to get up at 6am to lit your towels on the chairs. Never a line up at the buffet. COVID or the COVID measure are very much enforced. We had an issue with our key not working (first day checking in and one other time ) I will say this they didn’t just leave us. The stuff was on it. The second time the maid called for maintenance. They were there so fast when they called them This is resort was an hour away from the airport but I would recommend private transportation. Beautiful Resort!

The resort grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The food choices were excellent with something for everyone. There could have been more gluten free pasta choices at the buffet. The Japanese restaurant was excellent and the chef was entertaining. Our hostess Monique was great. The Knife restaurant was beyond our expectations. Staff were great and food was perfect! The one thing that the resort can improve on is the timing of the very loud music playing in the Village til 2 o’clock in [... read more] morning. Our room was 16413, the music was so loud in our room that we could not sleep til music stopped at 2 am. The loud music bounced up the walls and some women laughter could be heard over that music…terrible to try to sleep through. If I had to hear that every night, I would not go back to this resort. Love the resort but I need my sleep. Sop the music at 12 at least.

Top notch resort!

Being Jamaican myself, I can’t get over how amazing the food was!!!😮It’s not easy to cook Jamaican meals on a big scale like they do for the resort and capture the same taste as you would for your small family! I’m so happy with my stay that my partner and I have decided to visit the said resort at least twice per year. We came back home and told our adult kids about the AMAZING experience we’ve had, they were excited to book the next trip with us. I’ve always stayed with hotel chain ( Grand Bahia) whenever I travel ( punts Cana & la romana) but have never done Jamaica. Jamaican experience got us locked in as life members 😁I’m blown away. Worst hotel

I paid so much for this trip , but honestly wasn’t worth the hype . Management was all over the place nothing was correct or on time starting from our rooms, covid results and room service. Made at wait 3 hours long to check in , which everyone was so tired for the flight and hot . Called until old times for towels no one had brought up

Nice resort for a for a fair price

Over all it was a good stay at Bahia Principe. This is my 7th time staying here and it has improved every time I stay here. They were very strict on people wearing their masks while in the resort and all the staff are wearing one too. Staff are very friendly and polite. Rooms were clean and the beach is nice. Food is decent but not the best. U can go do almost all the usual excursions while there during the pandemic.

Very well run resort. Very safe and very clean. Many amenities throughout. Friendly and helpful staff. Great food!! Beautiful beach and pool. Cute little shopping area in the village. Awesome evening entertainment. Thank you for a very enjoyable family vacation.

Found the resort VERY Nice but it was a little too big for our liking. Still enjoyed ourselves don't get me wrong..The food was excellent and lots of it,along with the Desserts. The cleaning staff were Great and very nice people. I'd like to express extra Thanks to our cleaning lady can't remember name, but we were in room 25405(I Believe)Mar.2 - 12 Adam & Ilona. The grounds were kept in very nice shape. Thank you for a Great 10 day's. 👍👍👍😎
