Chaotic

This whole town is lovely, however the first people you meet at the hotel or the checking staff. We were with Air Canada vacations and Wi-Fi, save rental These were supposed to be included in our package. We were a group of 60 coming in for a wedding. The staff was not prepared there was only two staff working. They had most everyone pay for the Wi-Fi and the room safe. Our representative told us that we should not have been charge for those things and therefore we had to spend more time at the  [... read more]front desk the next day getting our refunds. Felt like we were being nickele and dimed. It was a total cash grab. The hotel staff should have been well aware of what was included in our packages. There was also a lot of confusion around what building our group was staying in. Clearly we wanted to be on the same side of the resort, as this is a huge resort and they have a another large wing on the other side of the resort, Which was also under construction. They had some of us slotted to stay there and some on the other side of the resort. When we asked to have our rooms changed to the same building they made us feel like they were giving us an upgrade and in fact, some of us were actually downgraded. So the ones that were upgraded did not pay the same price as some of us that were supposed to be in the upgraded rooms to begin with. I need to take this up with the travel agency myself as I was one of the people That food for an ocean view room and ended up in a different building. People that were not in a pretty loose ends of it getting upgraded for free. Come to check out on and there was still some confusion with some people being charged for Wi-Fi and room safes. there was one person at the desk at check out and we ended up very late getting on the bus back to the airport.

Great Property

The room was clean, the people friendly, and the food quite good. I would go back! The beach was a bit rough, lots of seaweed and a bit smelly at times. Workers very friendly but not annoying. It is a big property so there is lots of walking, but the shuttles are always available. Nice relaxing place!

Perfect in Every Way Possible.

For a start every person in the Resort, be it a person working on the grounds,driving the shuttle carts around, all dining room staff be it Buffet or Restaurants , at the desks Front or Lower Lobbies. Were all friendly and helpful in every way possible. This I Thank Them All. Entertainment was First Class. All Food Venues were also First Class. We came down with a party of 55 from Canada for our youngest Granddaughters Wedding and everything went over First Class. There was a bit of a mix-up at [... read more] the start, like people wanting to be close to the group, but it was sorted out without a hitch. The grounds are immaculate. The rooms were kept clean and well stocked. We could not have had a better holiday anywhere else. And guess what ? We never heard of anyone getting sick at any time on our stay. Loved it!

Had a great vaca last week at the Grand Sirenis! Perfect weather,amazing food at the buffet and a la carte restaurants as well, wonderful service and clean resort. This resort is quite spread out but didn't hurt to walk a bit and shuttle service was available as well. My 7 yr.old granddaughter found lots to do at the kids club. Only down side was the beach, not as sandy as some in this area, but we knew going in that it was in a cove of coral rock, which was better for snorkelling! Exactly what we wanted and exactly as advertised.

Everything on our trip was exactly as was promised and what we had wanted. The beach at Grand Sirenis isn't the long, lush "classic" Caribbean beach that everyone imagines but they never advertise that it is. The snorkeling on the second beach was absolutely excellent with coral reefs and so many colourful fish so very close to shore. The resort is very clean, the food is actually very good and there is a coffee shop on site that has probably the best coffee we've ever had anywhere. We strongly recommend the Japanese restaurant for one of your a la carte evenings. The show, the atmosphere and the food is fantastic. Probably the most pleasant part of our experience was the room we were in. We've been in the Caribbean before where the rooms are "less than desired" and you are forced to reconcile your feelings by saying "well we will only be sleeping there". This isn't the case here. Our room was first rate in every respect. Immaculately clean, completely modern and a really great place to relax and unwind after a day enjoying the sun. The Wifi connection left a fair bit to be desired, however. The pubs are nice but the rooftop bar is the perfect place to end your night under the stars. It's elegant, tastefully decorated and the music is loud enough to enjoy but not too loud to also enjoy conversation with others. The resort is essentially full of Canadians and Brits. We noted very few Americans. Some of the Brits can be a little "over the top" but we had a great time with Canadians of all ages. The resort is incredibly large so it has enough size to have everything you want but it is also important enough to note that it isn't TOO LARGE. In other words, it's big enough to have everything but not so large that you have to take the golf cart shuttles anywhere, unless you want to. We walked everywhere, everyday. For those that want them, however, there are plenty of shuttles available. Our only "complaint"? The "main pool" was closed for annual maintenance during our visit. This did not affect us one bit. It was physically the farthest pool from our room anyway so we probably wouldn't have used it. Further, the resort was only about half full when we were there so the remaining pools were never so full that we couldn't find a lounge chair at any time of the day or found the pools to be overcrowded. Apparently it would have been a much different story if we had gone a few weeks earlier during Spring Break when they would have been at capacity but we also assume they scheduled this annual maintenance to coincide with a quieter period so that crowding wouldn't be an issue. The bottom line is that it did not create a problem for us whatsoever. We got exactly what we were looking for. A week of sun, sand, snorkeling and perfect Caribbean atmosphere combined with escaping the last of the Canadian winter.

Beautiful place to be

The grounds are lovely, the food is very good, and the amenities and activities are all well done. There is an "up sell" component, with staff wanting you to go to the spa or take a tour (become a member). This is a large resort and things are quite spread out. You will be walking. The older part of the resort is quite dated in decor and upkeep. The elevator in our building didn't work so we used the one in the building next to us.

Phenomenal Resort

We liked everything about this resort, great location, staff was excellent, food was awesome, lots of things to do, spa was amazing, rooms were clean and up to date. We would definitely go back, and hopefully will soon.

Good Resort

Overall this is a good resort. large buffet, lots of al a cartes, lots of pool areas, it has a fantastic lazy river. The shuttles around are non-existent but the hotel is currently working on fixing that - so it should improve. Beach is not the best but the snorkling is excellent. Conceirge and front desk help is one of the best I've had at any resort. Rooms are great. Any problems and there right on top of it to fix. entertainment was great. Amazing resort, apart from the dolphinarium

The hotel and the staff were great. Amazing and clean place with a lot of people doing a great job. It is truly grand, in size, so a lot of walking is recommended but they have transportation on the premises. There are two different pools, a lazy river and two sides of the beach and decent spaces to snorkel and a dive shop to scuba dive. The equipment in the gym is fairly old and the spa seems great, I however did not try it. The spa is far from the hotel in front of the dolphinarium. Its a great hotel for walks in the mornings. I however cannot recommend this place for their dolphinarium. Dolphins are animals who have the ocean as their home and here they are captive in a very small pool; their captivity reduces their lives. Please do not go to the dolphin show and request the animals be freed.

Beautiful resort

We stayed in a newly renovated room. Very nice! Beautiful resort. Love the jungle, animals and pools! relaxing atmosphere. Food galore. Loved the Japanese restaurant! Lazy river was a daily delight as was the ice cream shop. No need to leave the resort as they had everything there you could ever need.

Fair resort

the food, rooms,hotel staff were great. the grounds were nice except for the sidewalks which have uneven concrete with 2 inch spaces inbetween that causes tripping hazards.i seen a couple people stub there toes and I tripped once myself. the beach is way to rocky and not much swimming area. the seaweed was terrible and they would try to clean it up in the morning when people were arriving and the smell was gross. the entertainment at the sky bar was bad from 7-9 almost put you to sleep and the m [... read more]usic after 9 wasn't any better. the lobby bar is boring and the sports bar was full of kids. not everyone likes to go to bed by 9, they need better entertainment. I will never go there again.

Great time!!

We had an amazing trip. Alot of rest and relaxation. Food was excellent. Drinks where good, good selection. Connoisseur was wonderful by our room, very informative. The only disappointment was that the beach was not great. Lots of seaweed on the beach because of the weather. They tried their best to clean it up each day.

Great resort with lots to do

We had a great time at this resort. The staff were friendly, the rooms and areas were clean. There were many pools, bars and activities to do. The food was decent but you do get sick of the buffet after a while.

Very nice resort

Very nice rooms, good food, good staff! The resort is large enough with different areas so that it doesn't feel crowded. Thought the spa prices were high. The a la carte restaurants--Mexican and Italian were very good; however, the Tepan Yaki at the Japanese restaurant was extremely salty.

Amazing Resort

Very good family resort. Every details were taken care of for adults as well kids. Smiling and welcoming staff workers who make you feel home. We were able to spent some quality couple time as well family time.

Extremely Beautiful Resort

Very freindly staff superior rooms lots of nature to enjoy such as Monkey Iguanas Kouati’s Butterflies Toucans etc etc. The Oceanfront was very nice with ample loungers for everyone great snorkling out front and the pools were very clean and well kept. Every meal at the Buffets and ala cartes were excellent

Awesome resort

The hotel was kept spotlessly clean and the grounds are a mixture of well groomed areas and natural habitat. All of the staff were very helpful and greeted us with a smile. The abundance of wildlife was an unexpected perk. Food was not only very good, but available at all hours. The rooms were very large and beds comfortable. It was my second time at this resort and I would consider another stay at this resort

Excellent resort , exceeded our expectations

This resort was nestled in a jungle-like setting. There were interesting birds, monkeys, and other wildlife to observe. The resort was staffed with friendly, helpful and pleasant staff. The recently renovated room we stayed in was fresh , spacious, open and comfortable. Food was quite good and the a la cartes were tasty.

Nature lover's paradise

This hotel is built in a beautiful natural setting in a jungle. There is lots to do without leaving the resort. Great beach to snorkel right from the shore (you need shoes) Big variety of restaurants and buffets, friendly service. Be prepared to walk a lot, the property is huge!

Mediocre

So the weather was in our favour for the entirety of our trip Oct 24 - 31. Pools were good, the quiet pool was amazing to keep away from the bussle but if you like that part then that's all good too. Buffets were adequate but not great. The a la cartes were garbage. Nothing good. And primarily buffet style anyway so what's the point. Quite the distance from the airport and most excursions. Rocks mostly. Little areas to swim but on a busy day there isn't much room. Staff is excellent here.
