Beautiful Resort

Beautiful gardens, very well kept. Latest building colour change very nice. Staff very friendly and accommodating, food was plentiful with lots of variety. Bars were good, Limbo Bar was top notch, bartenders were true mixologists.

Great resort

the resort was wonderful, Never having been to a resort before we weren't sure what to expect. It was amazing. Our room was perfectly located between the lobby/restaurant and the pool / ocean. Couldn't have been better everyone was so friendly andhelpful LOts of activities and the food was great

Excellent resort

Grounds are exceptional, service was very good. Good selection of food and there was always enough. Excellent coffee bar at this resort and the sports bar was a nice place to relax as well.The beach area was well maintained… The crews were out every morning early cleaning the seaweed from the shoreline. They did a great job.Also want to mention Kevin Dupuis from trip central.He was an excellent travel agent to book with… I highly recommend using him.

Incredible resort!!

While we have stayed at the beautiful Bahia Principe property five times before at the Punta Cana section, this was our first time at Ambar and wow did it ever not disappoint!! We had the most amazing week with a great room, delicious food at both the buffet and al La cartes, fantastic service from everyone we came in contact with!! The pool bar servers, the staff at the buffet, Las Brisas and a La cartes, as well as the entertainment crew couldn’t do more to make our stay spectacular!! Very good resort

Grounds - Very well kept Room - Clean and well appointed. We loved the swim-up suite. Food - great selection. At times a little bland. Noise level - at times we found it a bit noisy (pool & evenings)

Great resort

This resort has many positive notes: Airport transfer was easy Grounds and rooms were great Food was hit and miss, while there was the usual buffet for breakfast and lunch the food teperature was below where it should have been and was borderline cold Dinners were also hit and miss, some were better than others but overall was acceptable, with exception of sports bar where we had the best meal! Travel with total ease!!!

Totally relaxing vacation,waited on in every area.Wonderful staff,and beautiful surroundings.Love love love flying out of Hamilton makes travelling so much easier,second vacation of the year,3rd is booked for July going for 4 hopefully in Nov.

Great Adults Resort

The Ambar is a great option for couples of all ages to go and relax, have great food, cocktails and atmosphere. The beach is beautiful with lots of sun and shade options. The pool is well equipped with a centralized swim up bar, fountains and plenty chairs and umbrellas. Nightly entertainment is the tame for the Ambar guest but with access to all the Bahia Principe resorts on site, you are a 5 minute stroll to other events at the market, casino and sister resorts. Favourite restaurants were MEAT [... read more], LIMBO and Portabello Italian. Great pasta, steaks, seafood. Appetizers, and pretty decent cocktails. The lobby bar makes excellent drinks and the coffee bar was a nightly occurrence for some Spanish coffee. The sports bar was fun to shoot a game of pool, listen to music and grab some wings and cheese sticks. There is a Hendricks bar on site, although we didn’t take advantage of it. I think this is extra? The rooms were clean, spacious and nicely decorated. The room came with a stocked mini bar which is free. The maid service would restock daily as required. The main lobby restaurant has great options for breakfast, lunch or dinner and the staff were all very eager to make sure you were having a good time. Daily Mimosas and Caesar’s are at the ready as you enter the restaurant. The beach restaurant has amazing pasta dishes, salad bar etc. Staff were all very friendly. The Ambar is the most updated and beautiful of all the Bahia Resorts on site.

A wonderful time

We had a fabulous time! The resort was beautiful and very well maintained. The food was always fantastic, but the best thing about the resort, in my opinion, was the staff. They were friendly, accommodating and went above and beyond! Shout out to Adelaida at the pool bar, Santa on the beach and Nelson. They were always happy to see us and happy to help!

Amazing resort

The resort was beautiful. Our butler was so helpful Samual always made sure we had everything we needed and checked in on us all of the time. Our maid service did a great job but they could do more special things in the rooms to make their guests feel special. We were very disappointed in the beach very rocky which surprised us because everyone raved about the beaches in Dominican. They have not been to Cuba or Roatan. Those are beautiful beaches.

Beautiful Resort

I liked the resort overall but i found that if you didn’t reserve lawn chairs early in the morning then It was hard to find lawn chairs around the pool and at the beach, people would reserve their chairs early in the morning and unless you are an early riser then forget about finding a chair. Solid Resort

Quite pleased with this resort still. We have been to this complex 4 times and been to ambar twice. Updated rooms are well done. Food is decent and most staff are very good. The app is atrocious before you get there but is useful to track entertainment and alacarte bookings.

Beautiful Comfortable Resort

We had a junior corner suite Block 63. It was very spacious with king bed. Walk in shower with separate toilet area. Large vanity. Sitting area had a couch and two chairs with small table for eating. Mounted TV swiveled to view in the sitting area. Soaker tub was across from sitting area. We were on 3rd floor, with a huge corner balcony. Sun in the am was great for reading and having coffee. The main buffet was huge with many choices. There was a large walking path down to the pool that was about a 10 minute walk. The beach was just beyond pool. The waves were fun to swim in. There was lots of seating at both. Loved the speciality restaurants Portofino and Meat that were by the pool. Best to reserve speciality restaurants on arrival they fill quickly. The beach restaurant beside the pool was our preferred buffet restaurant. Room service was great and available 24hrs. Would be nice to have a menu for room service. When doing excursions you sometimes get back late so it was nice to have room service available. Staff were amazing even though there was a little language barrier.

Beautiful and clean resort

Friendly and courteous staff. Grounds are keep very clean and the beach and pool are excellent. Ambar rooms are up to date and clean. The al la carte restaurants are top class. The breakfast buffet was very good and lunch at beach was also good Very little wait times for tables at any eating area. Relaxing holiday.

Worth it

The resort itself is well taken care of. The staff go out of there way for you. The food is excellent and diverse in both flavors and type.We had a swimup room which exceeds expectation. No problems with checking or check out.

Disappointed

Room was not available the day of check in. Had to stay in another room the first night. Very inconvenient. We did receive a 100.00 voucher for the lobby shop which is minimalistic for the inconvenience. And it was time consuming to redeem and to top it off they charged the voucher to the room. Twice!!! Had straighten that out at checkout. Drinks at the bar were sub par. Local stuff is not that good. Paying the extra at the Amber there should be higher quality drinks available.

Love this resort!

Where to begin! We absolutely Love this resort! We were there about 5 years ago and wanted to go back but because of the hotel being renovated and Covid, we couldn't until now. Let me just say, the renovations are Beautiful! We had the corner swim up suite and it was amazing! It was nice to have your own private pool to come back to if you wanted a little siesta or some private pool time. The room was stunning, large and decorated beautifully. The only downside I had was that the shower had no privacy and if you're like me, I prefer a solid separation of the bathroom to the rest of the suite. Our maid service was wonderful and we loved Natalia who made it her mission to make sure our stay was as comfortable as it could be. All the staff were very friendly and check in was flawless. We were even taken to a desk to make our dinner reservations right after checking in! The restaurants were also wonderful and we loved MEAT. The restaurant was amazing. You almost forgot you were in a resort as the decor was impeccable and the food delicious!!! We also really enjoyed Tequilla which was in a new building on the beach. We have never been away in January, however it was very comfortable with less humidity then we're use to. We usually go in April or November. If you want to get a good spot on the beach please be aware that you need to get up at the crack of stupid (especially when you're on vacation) to secure a good spot. We are firm believers that if we do so, we'll make a coffee in our room prior to going down to get our spot and stay and enjoy the sunrise, which btw are stunning! We have seen many who must arrive earlier then us, place their items and go back to their rooms! I must say, its a little infuriating but, many do it. The pool is much the same, although we saw that the staff start taking people's towels off the loungers if they didn't stay and so made it fair to others. We love the Bahia Principe resorts whether it's Dominican or Mexico! They are a resort that we have found to never disappoint from food to decor to service! You always feel very pampered! Wonderful resort

The grounds were very well kept.. Everything about the whole resort was well organized. The food in the dining room was varied every day and there was plenty of it. The people working at the resort were very friendly, clean, and knew what they were doing. they helped whenever help was needed. the doctor came to our room when we needed help and then sent a nurse to check on the patient every day. Beautiful Resort

Employees went above and beyond for their guests. Fantastic housekeeping staff who would even clean the room twice a day. There were always clean towels and stocked beverages in my room. The grounds of the resort were extremely well kept and always being worked on. The food was excellent throughout the entire resort. My favourite being the Italian restaurant. Overall a great resort and appropriate for adults at any age.

Customer service

Rooms are not actually clean, I noticed a stain on the bed sheets had my room cleaned the next day all the cleaner did was make the bed and did not change the sheets. Was given a towel with feces stain on it and shower dirty.
