Club Amigo Mayanabo: Always fun to be there!

The Mayanabo is not a 4 or 5 star hotel. It's a place where everyone welcomes you and make it so that your vacation is a true one. The employees are key to the fact there are so many repeaters. it's in no way a perfect place, but everyone bends over to make you happy.

The main building of the hotel has the front desk, bar, store and sitting area with TV's and 2 phone booths. There is a pool table on an upper level, and the buffet is located on the lower level. There is a couple of buildings where the rooms are located. My room was older and had a queen size bed, LED TV, Air conditioning, closet and table with a chair, however, the bathroom shower head was rusted out and broke, they replaced it with another shower head that was not in good condition. The 2 ele [... read more]ctrical outlets did not work. The pool and snack bar and show stage were steps from the lobby. The grounds are very well kept. There were several activities being offered by the pool every day. A bonus was that you have wireless internet in the lobby and snack bar for a fee. The buffet was repetitive, but the food was good. The A La Carte's required you to book them in advance. They offered a Cuban and a Sea Food dinner; also, they provided you with access to 2 other nearby hotel buffet's. The evening shows were alright. Phone card cost $10 CUC,(10 Minutes), Internet card cost $1.5 CUC(1 Hour), Beach towel required a $15 CUC deposit, the in room safe required a $15 CUC deposit and a cost of $2 CUC a day. A massage service was available for $10 CUC for 30 minutes. The beach and ocean were a short walk away and there was also a beach bar available. The beach was not maintained well and had lot of seaweed all over the sand. The majority of the staff are very friendly and may my stay enjoyable.

Brisas Santa Lucia: Amazing service

This is a solid 3.5 star hotel - if you go with this is mind, you won't be too disappointed. The staff here is what makes it great - and tipping one peso here and there will get you far! One doesn't go to Cuba for the food, but mostly for the beaches. Although there was a lot of kelp , it didn't hinder us from enjoying ourselves. Brisas Santa Lucia: Nice Resort

The Resort was nice had a great time Although the Brisas is old and needs updating the Grounds are Mature and maintained the Pool is Great and the Beach is Awesome. The Buffet is Limited and Service needs improvement but all in all it is a good Value for the Money other than going at March Break . I would go back again . I hope this helps Regards Sandra Beson

Brisas Santa Lucia: Thank you Brisas for wonderful vacation

VERY CLEAN hotel. Rooms, cafeteria, garden, beach - maintained daily and spotless clean. FRIENDLY AND PROFESSIONAL STAFF, pleasant, smiling, offering help and solutions to every little problem. I was there with my grandson and sometimes we needed a little extra service, and I must say we were well taken care of. So thank you Brisas, thank you Trip Central and thank you Air Transat. Our money was well spent.

Club Amigo Mayanabo: Rooms desperately need updating

This was my 5th time in Cuba but my husbands first. The hotel is a 1 hour and 35 minute drive from the airport, but the ride was comfortable and the Sunwing guide was nice and informative. The service at the hotel was fantastic and the grounds were well kept. The lobby including its bathrooms, pool, beach and eating facilities were all well kept and clean. The rooms however were awful. I've stayed at a 2 star where they served rationed hot dogs all day and the rooms were nicer and more spacious. [... read more] The rooms are very small and their "ocean view" is windows you can barely see out of and don't open. There is no balcony. The rooms also have chipped and cracked tiles, rusted faucets and we were lucky enough to have the newly installed AC leak into my shoes and all over the floor... twice and a ceiling drip when it rained the one night. Again, the staff and service along with the beach is what makes this place. If your ok with the room, go for it. The beach, staff, live churro station and coconut guy made up for it all.

Brisas Santa Lucia: Great vacation

Other than some minor things with rooms like broken and dated items. The resort was great, staff was great! Food was surprisingly good for Cuba especially the à la carte restaurants! A remote area for those that prefer being closer to a city but we had a fantastic vacation and would return!

No complaints at all. Food, staff, beach, pool, bars, shows, rooms... were all as expected or better. Excursions were fun and great value. 3rd time in Cuba and have not yet been disappointed. The rooms will need to be updated in the next few years, but still very functional.

Brisas Santa Lucia: resort meets more than my expectations.

Exquisite landscaping. Better than expected food. Outstanding service. Very clean room. cleaned daily. Entertainment well done. Outstanding coffee bar. Spotless, larger than life pool. Stunning coral reef. Very nice beach raked daily. Variety of excursions offered. Ready to go again next winter. My luggage got lost on the way to the Camaguai airport. I got a generous compensation. Luggage got delivered to the hotel no problem. I recommend this place!!

Brisas Santa Lucia: Really a 3 star hotel but a 10 star plus camping!

The beach was like most beaches in Cuba, amazing! Soft sand, clear waters and lots of chairs with the palm leafed umbrellas. The hotel is not too big and everything is located around the center pool area. The lobby, the rooms, the coffee bar, the stage right at the pool and the snack bar are all located around the pool. Easy to navigate and we were less than 3 minutes to our room from the beach. The exercise room is not up to par, equipment is old, not working or missing pieces. No free hand wei [... read more]ghts, no mats, no water dispenser, no clips for the plates on the lifting bar and the bench press is bolted into one position only.Now when In Cuba, you may get no toilet seats on the toilet, so squat. You may have a broken chain to flush your toilet in your room but it has been repaired with a fishing line and you pull on the knob. The beds are foam but great after a long day out in the beautiful sun! Slept like babies. There seemed to be a creature defecating on my balcony lawn chair so I just swooshed it off. There is plenty of food if you love seafood and fish, wish we do not. But, we could always find chicken, pork or beef. You can ask the chef to refry meats that are not up to your standards. Lots and lots of salads and always rice and beans for gluten free individuals. If you are into eating omelets, pancakes, or fresh spaghetti, you are in luck but plan to wait. It is a long process. Do not look for jam, peanut butter or Nutella but you can bring your own if you like. There were several special buffet nights since we were there at Carnival time and Valentine's Day! Food piled sky high! I did see a complete cow splayed out including its tail being barbecued on a metal bed support hanging on ropes. It has presently turned me into a vegetarian. The pool is super active with music and activities if that is your seen. Lots of security but you should bring your own towel to the beach. There seems to be towel theft and if you lose yours, you must pay $25.00 which is about $34.50 when converted. Using your own towel helps you reserve and find your chair. Coffee bar was amazing. My husband drank Spanish coffees endlessly and there were herbal teas for caffeine free lovers. We loved our trip because we needed to get away and we had the same sun and beach of any other hotel whether it is a 5 star or a 3 star, we all have the same weather. We would go back for sure. If you need everything perfect and can't accept a few not so perfect standards, then it might not be your thing. If you love the outdoors and camping then we rate it a 10 star plus experience. We had everything we needed and got amazing tans, made friends, we did not starve were safe and did not starve! The staff were very, very accommodating. One hour and 5 minutes drive to arrive to hotel from airport but one and half hours to return due to locals on bikes, and horses and carts on the street. Transat was an excellent resource person and always available.

Only one bottle of water given at arrival. The rest of the time I had to refill the empty bottle at the lobby or snack bar. The layout was pretty good. Always something on the go. The disco was off the resort and had to pay for drinks there. No free drinks at disco. The best pool that I've ever seen in Cuba. Very clean and deep. The ocean was very shallow. Almost had to walk a 1/4 mile to find deep water. Food was good for Cuba.

Brisas Santa Lucia: Brisas Santa Lucia review

This trip was a dream. I felt as safe and taken care of as royalty. The staff and locals treated us so well and provided all luxuries. Good food, great weather, and a comfortable facility. I met people from all ages groups and family types. Everyone got along and created a magical space that felt genuine, real and separate from 'home'. Gran Club Santa Lucia: Great Vacation!

The hotel amenities are exactly what is to be expected for a 3 star hotel. Keep in mind you get the amenities that you pay for.... HOWEVER, the staff of the hotel were incredible and also the guests were the nicest out of any resort that I have been to! I would recommend this hotel if you are not too fussed about the room accommodations and are looking to meet great people and spend a week on a gorgeous beach! Gran Club Santa Lucia: Good hotel

We have been going to this hotel for many years now and the management is making many improvements to the hotel. The lobby, lobby bar and restaurant have all been upgraded and look beautiful. Also the food has improved 100%. They are also upgrading the standard rooms and all rooms are receiving new air conditioners. For Cuba this is a hotel to consider.

Club Amigo Mayanabo: A peaceful and very friendly place

We've been to Cuba more than 30 times in the past 30 years. We were North, South, just about everywhere on the island. This was our 7th time at Club Amigo Mayanabo, next to Caracol where we've been 5 times. If you want fancy meals and luxury rooms, you better go to Riviera Maya or Dominican Republic where it will cost you about double the price. At Mayanabo, the rooms are clean and the meals adequate. Club Amigo Mayanabo: Very good conditions!

The hotel was very nice and the portion where we were staying at was newly renovated. The food was not the best we tried in Cuba but the desert was great and with a lot of choices. The show wasn't also very good ... and nothing much else to do after.. no disco on site. Mostly a quite, family resort.

Brisas Santa Lucia: Good resort

The employees were amazing, the food was pretty good for Cuba and we loved the excursions and the beaches and pool, the beds were not very comfy but it might of just been ours and it was hard to shower without the water changing temp while you were in it. All in all we had a great time for the money spent.

Gran Club Santa Lucia: Amazing staff

We've stayed at this resort twice, 2015 and 2017 (2 adults and 3 kids/teens). The rooms are simple and need some repair/tlc, but they are clean and comfortable. The grounds and beach are kept beautiful! The food is typical for cuba. You can always find something to eat but the buffet offers very similar food day-to-day. The restaurants book up quickly which is disappointing. The staff are always friendly. They work long days yet always have a warm smile and greeting. If you're looking for luxury, premium liquor and tasty food, this resort is not for you. It offers a clean room, beautiful beach and gardens and amazing staff.
