Paradisus Rio De Oro: It is haven on earth… amazing place.

This resort we would definitely recommend. It is peaceful, with amazing gardens, quiet, relaxing place. Beautiful beaches. Food is great , lots to choose from , good quality and no shortage. Amazing staff.. they treat you like a family but with respect . Rooms are clean, nice comfortable bed, beautiful swimming pool. We have been to this resort many times and we keep coming back . It is the top resort in Cuba . We highly recommend.

Grand Memories Holguin: Grand Memories Holguin

Grand Memories is a beautiful new hotel (less than 5 years old). It is beautifully maintained and the rooms are very comfortable, clean and modern. The beach, pools and hotel are exceptional. The food is good for Cuba/ they have added pizza ovens and several more hot stations. Our butler Orlando was polite, professional and on top of his guests needs/requests. The only negative is that there is no evening entertainment. There use to be a disco at route 66 now the resort directs you off the r [... read more]esort to a disco at the market across the road which guests declined as no one wanted to leave the resort. (discos should be on the resort). They close the game room and games bar at 10pm!!! We had to finish up our game as they were closing the doors - a games bar! The hotel would also benefit from some type of music (local talent) in the lobby while people are having drinks. if the entertainment was stepped up this would be the number one place in Holguin!

the resort itself was nice friendly staff good food and drinks but need shad around the pools as there is none and by the bites restaurant there is a slippery spot that they need to fix ..my last day was going to the restaurant and i slipped on the walk way landed on my back and bruised back of my head badly ..they need to either put signs up u need to wear shoes here or repave with concrete ..i am still having headaches. Sanctuary at Grand Memories Holguin: Roach hotel

This resort was infested with roaches They were in restaurants , rooms , lobby , in premium longe, on bart tops If someone says they did not see them they are either blind or lying !! I have been going to cuba for over 15 years and have NEVER seen this before .

Iberostar Coral Holguin: First Solo Vacation

Iberostar Coral was smaller than I expected, but in the best way—it felt cozy, safe, and super friendly. As a woman traveling by myself, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but the staff and guests made me feel totally comfortable from day one. Being connected to the Selections resort was a bonus: I could wander over for bigger crowds, more restaurants, and evening entertainment, then come back to the calm vibe at Coral. And thanks to Yosvany for fixing a water issue in my room right away, with total professionalism. Just a heads-up: the tap water has a bit of an aftertaste, so I recommend bringing flavour packets if that bothers you. This isn’t a party resort, but if you want a safe, welcoming spot for a solo trip, I can’t recommend it enough.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Our romantic getaway.

The beach was amazing. The food was okay, there were options of chicken, lamb and beef. I would have liked a little more of a fruit selection but I did not go hungry. The resort gave us a complimentary lobster dinner which was very much appreciated. They are guys just off the resort with horse and carriage. We went on a ride for an hour and it only cost $20. Make sure you bring your bug spray, I was covered in bites. I would pack toilet paper too. Seems like they are short of something on it [... read more]. And we picked up a couple bottles at duty free Our vacation was short and sweet and we would definitely return.

Gran Muthu Almirante Beach Resort: Beautiful Resort

Grounds were well maintained and clean. Rooms, restaurants, restrooms hotel all were clean and well maintained as well. The only negative thing I would have to say is at the beach on the weekends the locals come, which as they should joy the beautiful beach, but they leave all their beer cans bottles all over the beach and in the water.

Grand Memories Holguin: Had a great time

This resort was fun to stay at. It offered pool bar, VIP bar, and they restocked my fridge with beer and water everyday. The staff were amazing and I loved how many crabs and cats roamed the area. The rooms were nice and clean. However, it unfortunately doesn’t fall in my top favourite resort. The lobby is on the second floor, so you have to use the stairs or lift every time. Not sure why it took so long, and 5 of the staff were scrambling trying to figure out what to do. It was chaos. Majority of that day was wasted. Anyway, I’d also like to point out that the beach was a bit disappointing. Across the water at island Cayo Saetia, the water is crystal clear, absolutely breathtaking. At this resort it was constantly windy with big waves the entire trip. Someone actually passed away from drowning the week I was here. The water was murky, full of seaweed and rocky with chunks of shell hitting your feet. I brought goggles and found a handful of sea urchins so bring water shoes. I did find awesome shells and explored the tide pool rocks though. The food was actually great, wasn’t a fan of the buffet though. It smelt bad and had swarms of flies gathering on the food. The buffet outside by the Sanctuary is where I ate instead every day. They offered a variety of food. Pancakes, fried chicken, hot dogs, provolone, cheese, French toast, cappuccinos, fresh fried eggs to your liking, freshly blended mango smoothies, and more. Moving on, I’m not sure why but there were dead crabs everywhere. Possibly the resort workers kill them? Or people staying at the resort? I saw a crab huddle up in a corner at the bottom floor of my building, he was cute and minding his own business not bothering anyone. Then the next morning on my way outside I saw him crushed to death. It made me sad, so anytime I found a crab I shooed it away so it wouldn’t be killed. There was also no Michael Jackson in the theatre lol. The special dinners were also unbelievably delicious. Okay my review is done. Overall nice place, it was an amazing experience, and I’m glad I went, but it is not my all time favourite.

Grand Memories Holguin: 3 on 5 at best

Went during off-season where the place was overrun by locals, which is fine…but they hoarded the food/alcohol and always cut the line when we were waiting for food. Also, we were CONSTANTLY harassed for our large denomination Canadian bills by the staff, it got really annoying after the second day. Rooms were clean, food was average. Beach was just ok as there was an abundance of seaweed washing up on the shore. Definately won’t try that resort again.

Gran Muthu Almirante Beach Resort: Disappointing!

When we arrived, our roomhad not been cleaned. There were stains on the lounging chair, the shower and sink had soap stains. The door to the room was coming undone. The handles in the bathroom were coming off. The linens did not smell fresh. No kleenex. There was a lot of garbage, beer cans on the roof outside our bedroom. Not enough barbage cans on the site. The locals beach next to the resort beach left their garbage in the water!

Gran Muthu Almirante Beach Resort: Great Resort!

The Holguin airport needs some loving. On departure, the power went out 3 times. Not sure if it's the city trying to save on electricity. The same happen at our resort. Luckily the power came back on very quickly. The check-in was done very quickly and we were given a room with an ocean view on the 6 floor. That was amazing. As for the main buffet (breakfast, lunch and dinner), 95% the same thing everyday and the quality not that great compared to resorts in Mexico. The restaurants were all great except for the international which was not really international. Lol The resorts says it's a 5 star but I would rate it at 4.6 which is still pretty good for Cuba.

Gran Muthu Almirante Beach Resort: Amazing Resort

This resort was fantastic! I had lower to moderate expectations but it surpassed my expectations! The resort is easy to navigate through. The ocean is 10+, beautiful crystal clear blue water, white sand, barely any seaweeds. I must say the food was good! I was able to find something to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Everything about the resort was beautiful. The staff was amazing and friendly. I have only positive things to say. My only issue was the repetitiveness of the food at the main buffet. I was fine but my teen found it a bit rough.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Our second time here but not our last.

My fiance and I just returned from our 2nd stay at this resort. We upgraded to the Royal Service both times. The resort is beautiful, the grounds are well kept and the cleaning staff do an amazing job keeping everything clean. The gym is in great shape and the trainer, Reembero does a great job keeping the gym clean. The food is very good and all the staff are amazing. You become like family there. Edgar and the butler staff made sure we were taken care of and happy. We can't wait to come back! [... read more]! Iberostar Coral Holguin: Interesting Food

The hotel is beautiful and the workers are very kind. The beach is about a 10 minute walk from the hotel, and the beach bar did not have a good selection of drinks. The food was not good. If you care about the food, this is not the resort for you. I don’t know if all of Cuba is like this, but the food was tasteless and much of it seemed to come from a can. If they improved the food, and had a properly stocked beach bar, I would give this resort 5 stars.
