This place was just as beautiful as the pictures. The rooms, the staff and the food was very amazing! It is a very quiet resort and a great place for some R & R.
The dive shop is amazing and there for you for whatever you want. We finished our certification and our dive master Felix was the BEST!! He was so patient and taught very well. The snorkeling is just the best we have ever experienced. Having this island surrounded by a reef makes the beauty underwater amazing! A must see!!

Media Luna Resort: Media Luna
We very much enjoyed our trip to the Roatan. The media Luna is a great spot, tucked in to a little cove. Some of the cabanas need a freshen up, and one of the bartenders need a attitude adjustment/ other then that/ the food/pools and property are great! Excellent trip February 2018)

Media Luna Resort: Nice resort, needs a bit of TLC
Grounds are clean, nice and lots of plants and beautiful flowers. We were in a Cabana with ocean view. We really enjoyed the nice room. Bed was comfortable. There were no face cloths.
Beware of rooms on the hill. I would call it a chicken coop. Terrible setting, rooms are small with carpet nd just a small window. Should not be rented to tourists.
Food - was fair. We ate well every day and the buffet was average. Not much fruits for a tropical place.
Beach; small and mostly rock[... read more]y, better bring your water shoes.
Walkway - no high heels on this resort.
In all a nice, rather quiet resort. Good to discover Roatan if you need a place that is calm with no high expectations.

Media Luna Resort: Media Luna not worth the time
The stay at Media Luna resort was a waste of money and time. The rooms are old and smelled musty and if checked likely contained black mould. Trip central should be ashamed of its business to recommend and book this establishment.
We tried to book a snorkelling excursion and after paying and being delayed 3 days we finally demanded our money back. Be very careful trying to book anything with the group running the dive and snorkelling shop.
Overall I will most likely not book with trip central[... read more] or Transact again after this horrid experience.

Media Luna Resort: Overall Very Pleased
Had room #137 and totally enjoyed the waterfront stand alone cabana. We enjoyed the food and staff never felt you had to tip but they so appreciate it. White wine was not a hit but you can bring your own from home or there is a small winery store with specials on buying 3 bottles. Lovely grounds but a little TLC to clean the winter dead branches. All in all relaxing very little loud music and a great place for snorkeling. We took a full day private taxi to tour island. Jorge’s Lopez can be fou[... read more]nd on Facebook and he will take you exactly where you want and he shows you local non touristy spots. A note that rooms need to be updated which will be done. Our cabana felt like we were at a summer cottage. There is absolutely only this resort in this area.

Henry Morgan Resort: Henry Morgan Resort
The resort was nice for the price paid. We enjoyed the beach and pool. The room was fine with the exception of it not being clean at check-in. The food was okay but was very repetitive. By the end of our visit we could not face another buffet of pizza, pasta, pork and potatoes. I would also like note that the house red wine was bitter and tasted terrible. The wine in the "Winery" was significantly better but was not included in our all inclusive price.

Fantasy Island: Classic
Fantasy Island is a smaller, friendly resort that is centrally located on the Island of Roatan, so excursions in all directions are shorter, very important as the local roads are very rough. We enjoyed the wildlife wandering around the resort, and the perfect natural fish aquarium off the board walk gazebo. Where you could feed hundreds of fish a few bread crumbs, enjoy an evening stroll, or use as a jumping off point for a great snorkel adventure.
The grounds are kept immaculate by the staf[... read more]f, with the beach being constantly cleaned and cared for. There are about twice as many beach chairs as guests so saving chairs is not necessary. There are no bad areas to spend a beach day, collecting shells or snorkelling around the lagoon. The Kayaks available at the beach shack are great, there is a perfect loop around the island to paddle that's just the right length. Rooms are large and comfortable, with daily housekeeping who quickly fixed any concerns we had and were always ready with fresh towels.
Food is above average, and the service is great, especially Alvin and Eric who quickly new exactly what our preferences were for all meals and drinks and made sure it was looked after as we sat down. Lunch at the Beach Bar was a great change where we could get table service and enjoy a good pizza or a cheeseburger. Breakfast on the outside balcony every morning was a treat offering great views of the beach and water while you enjoyed the amazing fruit and tasty omelet,
Our excursions were handled by a Selvin Tinoco (Transportation Island Tours) a local guy we found who took us on three great trips that gave us the history of the Island, interaction with local wildlife, and the local culture along with stops for the great views along the way.
Travel to and from the airport was handled very efficiently by Sun Wing and the staff, with check in done and bags in our room shortly after arrival. Evening beach parties and entertainment were enjoyed by all.
The negatives: the possible bug bites, take repellant, as Canadians we should be used to this, but a little on your legs before heading out will save a lot of itching. They could use a few more Kayaks and maybe some paddle boards for the beach as the water is calm and clear perfect for both activities. We would have enjoyed a gym to add some weights to the daily routine of walking/swimming/paddling, maybe in the future. The beer choice is limited, the local brew should be added to the selection as it is very good (got some on one of our excursions).
We will return to Roatan someday and will definitely book at Fantasy Island Resort.

Henry Morgan Resort: 2nd time and still love it.....
Arrived on Jan.25 till Feb.5th. We knew this is still part of the rainy season so brought raincoats and we needed them. We didn't care we had fun anyways. (no snow to shovel) Problem with the rain was, they fogged with insecticide after the rain (at approx. 4-5 pm) when everyone was still enjoying the beach and pool area. Bad enough the smell and you could taste it. Would have been better to wait until the sun had set and the bar closed (6:00 pm).
We stayed in the Pool Garden View rooms this[... read more] time. This is the newest section of the hotel. It was great. Modern, clean and had its own pool for that section. Only problem is the rooms had no dresser to unpack your suitcase into. Had a good amount of hangers in stead of the usual 4 or 6 for 2 people to share. No phones, but we don't have the hotel do wake up calls, so no big deal.
Other issue was that they always had WIFI in the lobby, as they have in previous years and is advertised on the Transat listing of the hotel. Not any more they were requesting $15.00 dollars US a day in order to receive the password. Needless to say we used our own provider.
I love Roatan and would love to see it for many years to come...but the Henry Morgan Resort seems to have gone backwards in their Enviromental practices.
2 years ago they had plastic beach glasses to drink from at the bars and real glass for wine and pop etc. at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. But for some reason they now have paper Pepsi cups at the bars and at the restaurant. Well I do not know anyone who will drink wine out of a paper cup...and the plastic ones they did use for the wine are the cheap throw away dollar store type.
Do not get me wrong as all in all, we love the hotel and the people are great.
Love the choices at the buffet for all the meals. Just think that some things need to be addressed to make the Hotel a better place for all to enjoy. Roatan is a Natural preserve with the best of the coral reef to enjoy. I would love to see it stay that way, instead of turning into a garbage dump.

Henry Morgan Resort: Worst resort ever!!
Believe all the negative things you have read about this resort - they are all very true!! Rooms are not clean, no hot water, plumbing issues every day, wifi is an extra charge, wine is terrible, limited selections of drinks.
The only plus we’re the staff - they pleasantly deal with complaints all day . The resort manager is not willing to address any issues - has an excuse for everything!! Makes promises to upgrade rooms which he ultimately renages on. There are so many other lovely resorts [... read more]in Roatan - go to one of those instead of the Henry Morgan!!

Henry Morgan Resort: Below expectations!
I now know that every negative I read about this resort was true. I was disappointed with all aspects of this resort except for the lovely, overworked service staff and of course the beach it is on. The customer service orientation seems to be to withhold and charge extra at any possible opportunity. Our treatment by the Manager left me feeling disrespected and certainly not that the guests are valued.

Media Luna Resort: Fantastic staff
The staff were fantastic and were very personable and always remembered our names. The entertainment was good and lots of fun.
The landscape was gorgeous with lots of trees and beautiful flowering bushes. The beach although small was great and the water was easy to get in and out of. I really loved the beautiful bay we were on with nice gentle swells - just perfect for swimming and snorkelling.
The bungalows were very private and large, but definitely needed some upgrading. Loved havin[... read more]g a king bed, but the mattress was quite hard. As others have said, you need to take your own face cloth. We were provided with soap and shampoo. The room could use some brighter lights especially in the bathroom.
The worst part of the trip were the sand fleas or whatever was biting us. You need to take strong bug spray and lots of anti itch cream with you. I had 40-50 bites on each leg, plus on my back, chest, arms and feet. My husband had well over 200 bites and they are still swollen 4 days after being home. We had cream for the bites to take the itch away and we had lots of deet, but the deet was not a deterrent as we still got bitten.
The food was good and there was a good variety of foods, but sometimes the vegetables and meat had way too much garlic in them. Over all the food was good with beef, pork, chicken, fish and even hamburgers and fries at one lunch. The chocolate croissants were delicious as were the omelettes. The desserts and fruit were great. Would I go back again, if they had a way of getting rid of the sand fleas, but otherwise no.

Henry Morgan Resort: Excellent Diving. Mostly Good Resort
Transat
The flight from Montreal to Roatan isn't that long, if you are coming from Toronto and then waiting on the plan for an hour before leaving Montreal it becomes a long flight. Those passengers with the extra 2.5 hours should be getting a meal included. Especially on our return flight which had multiple delays the total plane time was 9 hours. On the way down I made sure to buy food in the airport for the 7 hour flight, but the Roatan airport doesn't have many options and if our plane had[... read more] left on time we would not have had time to buy food due to the extreme slow pace of the transat staff. This seems to be a common theme, Transat staff are not well trained in location. Last year in Mexico the staff checking our bag and doing our boarding passes was totally distracted by personal conversations and I had to point out mistakes she had made to ensure my bag made it home. This year the Roatan Transat team seemed as though it were everyone's first day. There were about 8 staff doing bags and passes and they all seemed confused by their job.
Overall=poor. Not thrilled with Transat and I am considering looking at other options for next year.
Henry Morgan Resort
Service + cleanliness: Overall the Resort was nice enough. The staff were polite and helpful. The service was good. The entertainment staff were great and the shows were fun, specially the Sunday night couples competition, that was hilarious. The resort was clean. It could use with some touch ups here and there, some fresh paint and things like that, which I do believe they are working on. I heard they had worked on some of the older rooms so it is likely we were in one that just hadn't been updated yet. And they were building on to the back of the resort. I really appreciated that they didn't start any construction until later in the day so people could sleep in, I am a pretty light sleeper and our rooms was near the back so it was fairly close to the work.
Overall=good
Waterfront: The beach was beautiful! Unfortunately the wind changed direction part way through the week and was blowing from the North-West which made the ocean rough, and the beach stirred up and dirty, the wind blew in lots of garbage and debris; however staff were doing there best to clean it up. The main pool was also nice, we never got around to checking out the newer pool at the back. There were plenty of chairs and a small lunch buffet near the beach and pool (the fried chicken was amazing!)
Overall=great (despite bad luck with weather)
Food: The food was the one thing about the resort I didn't like. It was the same thing every meal. I did enjoy breakfast despite it being the same as I would switch between eggs, french toast, or the donuts. Lunch and dinner however really lost their appeal early on. There were really just 2 sauce/flavors that the meat was cooked in. And they seemed to just alternate which flavor was on the pork, chicken, or fish each night. I liked that they had all 3 meats each day but in the end everything just ended up tasting the same so part way through the week you got really sick of the flavor. Same with the pasta and potatoes. There was a pasta or lasagne with the same tomato sauce every meal. Each meal either had potatoes in the same flavor or fries each meal. The deserts were also all dry and tasted the same. I think a little more variety and a little more quality would go a long way. I also got horribly sick one night, not the usual travel diarrhoea, but painful vomitting, similar to food poisoning, and having spoken to some staff and other guests it sounds as though people get sick frequently. The a la carte, which is actually open to the public was very good. If I go back I will eat out at restaurants at least a few nights.
Overall=poor
Activities: Unfortunately due to poor weather we didn't get to try much (island tours, zip lining, snorkelling, west end town) I did however get to scuba dive. My boyfriends got to try scuba for free, they ran free trials on Tuesday on the beach. I thought that was really great and they had a sort of mini course you could do if you liked it that would have allowed him to come on a dive with me. I signed up for a 6 dive package. The sites were excellent! No surprise Roatan is considered a top dive location. The TGI dive crew located on resort were excellent. They listened to my apprehensions (after a poor experience last year in Mexico) and did everything they could to help me get comfortable. They worked with me to help me become a better diver. They were professional, safe, and charismatic. Having to rent most of my gear ment the dives ended up being pretty expensive by the time everything was totalled up. In future I might shop around more for prices (although I think they are pretty standard across Roatan) but I would definitely recommend diving with TGI.
Overall= excellent
Tripcentral: Just as in the past my experience with TripC was great. Friendly and easy. Staff were knowable and gave recommendations when it came to planning my trip.
Overall=excellent

Fantasy Island: The BEST way to relax
This resort has great food, some of the best resort good we have had. Our room was clean, A/C worked well, everything we needed and it all worked fine, only thing wrong was the bathroom door latch. Staff were all pleasant, but English was limited with some restaurant staff. Are bar choices are limited. We had a great week, beautiful location. AND the snorkeling right off the resort was great, many fish and corals to see in the clear warm water. Some sand fleas, but not enough for real problem[... read more]s. Infinity Bay Spa and Beach Resort: The Best Vacation Ever
This is the third time we have stayed at Infinity Bay Resort on West Bay beach, Roatan. The manager, Rick, was ever present and told us to contact him if there was anything we needed. We have never seen such an open and accessible hotel manager anywhere else. This is a condo development with a wonderful all inclusive option with Sunwing. The beach is the best we have ever seen and the offshore snorkeling is the best we have experienced, after visiting several islands in the Caribbean. We h[... read more]ad four meals outside by the sea, near the beach bar; I especially liked their grilled sea bass and their Caribbean fish soup. Staff could not have been more receptive and welcoming. We truly felt appreciated and welcome throughout our two week vacation. We had a sense that they really were happy that we returned, not just as custo9mers, but as person who enjoy their resort. We would recommend this resort to anyone who wants a quality vacation experience , with a particular snorkeling and beach component in their Caribbean vacation.

Henry Morgan Resort: Beautiful Beaches
This resort was very simple, nothing extravagant however the food was very tasty, but much like the resort very simple. The rooms were basic but clean and the staff were super friendly and very helpful. There was a small leak during one very wild storm and the maintenance crew fixed it the very next day. The beds were comfy and everything was very clean. The beach was so beautiful it was unreal and staff made this an amaizing vacation. We had a great experience.

Media Luna Resort: Interesting Resort
Best part of the resort is the individual cabanas. They are very nice and the staff cleans them very well. Never saw an insect once in the rooms, they wash the floors every single day and I think they treat for insects then. The setting is very tropical.
Pools were not in great shape and they didn't seem to clean them well the last couple day's the water was murky looked really unsanitary.
The beach is very small and you have to navigate through rocks and seaweed to find a good spot to swi[... read more]m but I loved the ocean was refreshing temperature and wonderful snorkelling at this hotel.
The food is what you would expect not a lot of variety but this is a very small resort.
They give you canned beer not on tap I liked it was great, only 2 at a time but we stocked up on them.
There are small flys that bite at night I didn't get too many but lots of people were covered.
Staff was OK not rude for sure just not super friendly, fine by me. however some looked really young like less than 14 and that upset me a little.
I would recommend it as long as they knew all the negatives about the hotel first

Henry Morgan Resort: Better than usual
We love this resort. We have stayed many places in Roatan. This was our third trip to Henry Morgan. It just keeps getting better! Its not fancy, mind you. The food is delicious beyond belief which is the main reason we go. The second is the location A+++. The staff have been there for many years and are very happy and make the stay feel like home. I would NEVER stay anywhere again in Roatan.
