Las Brisas Huatulco: Beautiful location for 4 star resort

Gorgeous beaches and grounds; Food was somewhat mediocre Problem with getting a cup of coffee in the middle of the day Cocktails and alcoholic drinks were actually quite good Service was generally good and room was cleaned every day. Be aware that room buildings are up on the hills so you either walk a looot of stairs or fully relaying on carts . Not sure if I'd be back to that particular resort

Secrets Huatulco: Excellent resort, very happy

Safe, very clean, very courteous, and friendly staff. We had no issues during our Sat-Sat trip. Staff continuously made sure we were happy. Beach is not so great, but that is just the way the sand/water is in the part of the world. It is beautiful to look at and listen too, but not so nice for swimming and beach walking as the sand is coarse. Weather was great, hot, and sunny, well into the mid 30’s C every day. We had to start getting up a 6AM to get a set of chairs. Even then, 80% or more are already staked out. Fresh towels are not available until 6:30AM. By then, there are pretty much no chairs left. People were saving towels from the night before. There is limited space around the pool edge, but more chairs and umbrellas could be placed farther back towards the grass so that everyone can relax and be in the shade. Overall, very happy with this resort and the value of this trip.

Las Brisas Huatulco: Loved it

We really enjoyed our stay. We spent a ton of time on the beach. The swimming was fantastic. The female server st the beach was really good. I wish I had written down her name. All the staff is really good and very helpful. My only suggestion would be to improve the map or signs as we were pretty confused at first. Next to that once we learned our way around we didn't want to leave and will definitely come back.

Dreams Huatulco: Amazing resort!

The hotel was lovely. Super clean and very adherent to Covid-19 protocols. The beach was very nice. The pools were fantastic as they had 3 infinity edge pools that face the ocean which makes for amazing views. The food was very good, many things made to order. Now to talk about the staff! They were incredible! I can’t say enough great things about the staff! They worked so hard to make our holiday amazing. Our air conditioner went one night, they had it fixed in an hour. The poolside [... read more] staff worked so hard moving chairs and umbrellas for people to give everyone a spot. The man that was in charge around the pool did a great job of actually removing towels that were just left on chairs. This is the nicest resort we have stayed in yet, probably our 14th all inclusive and this was the best! The town around hotel is really nice and worth a visit to their few restaurants and shops.

Secrets Huatulco: What you make of it is what counts.

My husband and I stayed from March 26 - April 4, 2022. The resort is beautiful, and the staff is extremely helpful and extremely friendly. The views were amazing all day long, you could not get enough of admiring how beautiful the bay was to look at. The weather was near perfect and according to the locals its like that a majority of the year. The food everywhere was fantastic, I'd be surprised to read if someone had a different opinion. Covid protocols are in place in communal areas of the hotel, main lobby, restaurants, elevators etc. I felt comfortable and safe. There were no issues when it came to cleanliness anywhere in the resort at all in fact. We met a lot of really great people from all over: Canada, USA, Columbia, and other parts of Mexico. We had a great time, we enjoyed our vacation, but we made the best of the thing in which we were not so excited about. The beach is not great for swimming, so if this is a large part of your vacations daily routine you will be disappointed. The red flag was up every day we were there, and from speaking with people who work at the resort, it stays this way a majority of the time. The undertow is quite strong, and unfortunately while we were there, a few days also had blue flags which means jellyfish. The beach area was hard to find a chair as there are not many to be had as its a rather small area, AND if you were not up before sunrise, they were all reserved with random towels. It was not until our second last day that we finally saw the staff removing these "held chairs" and giving them to people who were actually there to enjoy the beach. On a side note, if you do get a beach spot: The sand is very granulated so be prepared for really HOT sand and I mean hot. Now the pool is a whole other storey, so I will start with the things in which were positive first: the pool bar was always busy and man the staff moved so make sure you tip them well, they do an excellent job. The wait staff around the pool was fabulous, very courteous, we watched them serve not only the pool but the swim up rooms as well - fantastic job to them as they hustled, and they always remembered your face and a majority of the time what you were drinking. The entertainment staff was engaging, and they tried their best daily to get people involved, most days were a success, a few days were a little scarce for them, but job well done. Do you like to sit and lounge around the pool? Me: yes, I like to read and then dip, splash, swim, and repeat. Do you like to get up at 3 am during your vacation? Me: OH, HELL NO, however if you would like a spot to sit around the pool then this seems to be the course of action. This is really the only negative thing I can say about the resort, there is not enough seating for all their vacationers or even 25% to be more exact. We had a small confrontation with another set of vacationers, they showed up around 2pm. We had taken their chairs; we had walked around the pool several times in the span of an hour and noticed a set of chairs not being used. We asked the couple sitting beside them if anyone had been there yet that day? The reply was, no, they had been there since 7:30 am and no one had come to those chairs. This is now 12ish. So, we approached one of the pool staff, asking if it was ok to take them, and their reply was yes. So, we sat pulled out our books and read for a while, then in pool, splash, read, repeat.... Needless to say, they came back 7 hrs after placing their towels on the chairs and wanted us to move. I offered one of the two chairs to make it fair, but she was not happy about my compromise. In the end I did not move, and she left saying nasty things aloud. So, please do not be a Karen to others that may want to use the pool while you are not, it makes everyone enjoy their vacations as much as the other. Overall, we had a good vacation, we made the best of the pool situation and either just dropped our bags on the grass or waiting for someone to leave/give up their chairs , not ideal while paying a bit more for this resort. We would likely not go back to this resort as it was just not for us (but if we did we would book a swim out suite, as your always guaranteed a chair), however we will go back and try another location in this area of Mexico.

Spectacular view of the ocean, clean and spacious room. Love the way the resort is designed. Make you feel if you were in Greece. The beaches are also very nice. The staff are very friendly. Love the vibes of the resort.

Secrets Huatulco: Good, with room for improvements

We just returned from a week at Secrets. Had visited 9 years ago. Seems like they haven’t put any money into upkeep. Furniture cushions in common areas need a refresh; room deck furniture was worn; window treatments in room were ripped and mended instead of replacing; pool tiles missing. Otherwise, the room/restaurants/common areas were clean. Staff was always very friendly and attentive. All staff adhered to mask protocols but not all guests did. Overall the food was great with the e [... read more]xception of our steak meals at Castaway restaurant which we found to be inedible. We were again very disappointed that we had to reserve our lounge chairs and sun protection early every morning. If you weren’t out before 6 a.m. you had limited options to choose from. This puts unnecessary stress on you when you’re there to relax, worry free. This isn’t the resorts fault, but if you’re looking for a nice sandy beach, you won’t find it here. The water was always too rough to swim comfortably. I would recommend this hotel to a friend, with consideration to comments above.

Secrets Huatulco: Beautiful private resort.

We definitely enjoyed our trip to Secrets. Beautiful locations. Great service and activities. Booked a half day on the ocean with Captain Valentino. Discovering the multiple bays, whales, sailfish and sea turtles. We definitely would go back.

Secrets Huatulco: Great resort

The resort, rooms and dining were all very clean. The beach was nice although a bit rough. Scenery was lovely and the food was very good. The staff were always helpful and friendly. Loved how our rooms were cleaned and decorated with flowers most days.

Villablanca Huatulco: Villablanca, we'll be back!

We absolutely loved everything about this hotel! Most of all the beautiful staff. The service was wonderful, breakfast delicious, rooms clean and spacious and the location was perfect. What more could we ask for?

Dreams Huatulco: Beautiful resort and weather!

The pools over looking the ocean were so functional and beautiful! The chairs were comfortable but a little weathered as were the Umbrellas… that being said, the staff were there to help immediately and the combination of sun and shade and a bar that was close by made for a perfect place to rest and socialize. We enjoyed snorkelling and seeing the beautiful fish (until the jellyfish came to visit) … the restaurants were delicious and we enjoyed paint night and the bands as well as pool aero [... read more]bics and stretching/yoga classes. Fun fun! Staff were very nice and accommodating… will plan to go back.

Camino Real Zaashila: Peaceful sanctuary

This is the perfect quieter resort to get away for a peaceful vacation. I chose this older resort to get away from the hustle and bustle of the other larger resorts. The staff here were helpful and attentive. There was something for everyone where dishes and meals were concerned. Lots of fresh fruit. Drinks were plentiful. There was no jockeying for beach chairs. The rooms and grounds were well maintained. I felt safe walking about the resort and town centre. Everyone was masked at the time I wa [... read more]s there. Even though the waters were a little rough at times during high tide, there was a little cove where it was calmer and I could swim, as I am not a strong swimmer. The pool was lovely too. I would definitely return to this resort.

Las Brisas Huatulco: Great Holiday

Grounds very clean and well kept, rooms clean. Stairs definitely were a challenge at moments, but shuttles were readily available. Staff very nice and friendly. Layout of resort is very different, but it provides a nice variety for walking, swimming etc. Covid protocols were strictly adhered to. Food was good in buffet and in a la carte restaurants. Over all a very good family vacation. Make sure to go into Santa Cruz and La Crucecita, restaurants great especially on beach.

grounds were beautiful, very clean, staff were great. beaches were awesome, really enjoyed the lounge entertainment. did not feel the food was up to a 4 1/2 or 5 star resort. a lot of stairs, would not recommend to someone with mobility issues.

Secrets Huatulco: High and lows

So much of this resort was amazing. The few things that were disappointing however really stood out. All inclusive doesn’t include bags. Add $120 per person Food was excellent except for Food allergies were not taken care of. My husband had bathroom issues daily even though we reminded them daily. Glassware was awful, often giving me red wine in a beer or champagne glass. Pool glassware was very old. When pool bar was busy cleaning of glassware was scary to watch. Finally preferred [... read more] was not worth it. Top shelf bar was only in one area and anyone could get it. Covid tests were free but now not needed.

Barcelo Huatulco: Barcelo Huatulco

This resort had virtually everything we hoped for in a sunny destination all-inclusive. It was not too large, It was clean, in good repair, casual yet tasteful, well staffed and felt safe. The beach access was close and easy. Loungers and palapas were provided free of charge, you had the choice between full sun exposure and shade around the pool or on the beach. The location was removed from busy roads yet close enough that you could easily explore the town of La Crucecita Central Park which I w [... read more]ould recommend. The Airport was reasonably close too. The beach and ocean floor has nice sand. Ocean water was clean but I would suggest increased level of caution for children & non-swimmers as wave break was right at the shore and undertow strong most days.

Dreams Huatulco: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO EVERYONE COMING TO HUATULCO

Wow! Super excited to be able to travel once again after 2 years. This was our 3rd trip to Huatulco + our 3rd stay at Dreams. As always we had the best time. The weather was super hot as always + the resort amazing. We choose Dreams for the location right on the water, the rooms, the staff, the a la carte restaurants where you don't need a reservation + so much more. We talked at length to some of the management regarding their challenges the last 24 months (like we all have experienced).  [... read more]They had to lay off much of their staff, lost other experienced people + have just started getting busy again the last couple months. With that, the food wasn't as great as it had been pre-covid but we have such compassion + understanding that they too are trying to get back to "normal." For that reason, it will be our place to go again next year!!

Dreams Huatulco: Disappointed this trip

We were delighted to once again return to this resort. The staff are so attentive and helpful. Cleanliness and spotless is throughout the resort with staff wearing masks both inside and outside. Unfortunately the menus and calibre of food is definitely missing from our preCOVID visits with a couple of dinners being almost inedible. Portofino is still amazing. Dreams Huatulco: Ok resort

The resort itself is beautiful. Rooms are decent. It is not worth it to upgrade to the preferred club as there is no benefit to it. There is no preferred space on the beach or pool. We had no private check in/out. We also were not informed of Covid test on site & that it was free for preferred club. We only received corona beer in our fridge a couple days after that it was a cheap beer. Food was meh. We were there for 2 weeks & I basically had hot dog & fries for lunch every day & ribs for suppe [... read more]r. There is nothing to do in the evenings. Resort shuts down at 11. There were no seats available around the pool or the beach by 7 in the morning. Staff were friendly.

We loved this resort..Staff very excellent..grounds beautiful..rooms wonderful..food mmm... The only thing is we would not recommend upgrading to Preferred Ocean Front...The whole resort is basically Ocean Front and if you had garden view you are looking at pools and are only few steps from ocean...
