Our oceanview room was overlooking the infinity pool, with a view across the bay of the rock formations that included the Arch. We were able to watch cruise ships come and go.
The grounds of the Riu Santa Fe are well kept, with gardeners out each day. We used the infinity pool daily in which the water was clear and well maintained. Hotel staff was constantly cleaning all areas of the resort and our room was well cleaned daily. The fridge and coffee supplies were well stocked. The activity gr[... read more]oup was very energetic with programs going on daily to entice guests to partake in pool activities. The main buffet (Baja California) always had a good selection of food. Our favourite choice of the a la carte restaurants was the Kulinarium that had the best beef tenderloin we have every had in the Carribean. Reservations are not required for all a la carte restaurants.
We stayed at this resort for the first time in 2019 and we were pleasantly surprised to see that the resort has been nicely redecorated, as well as the rooms.
We stayed in Villa 7 which has a large open foyer that includes a sculpture in the middle of the foyer. Guests passing through this area would often spin the orb in the middle of the sculpture which created a loud, disturbing noise during all hours of the night. We did bring this to the attention of customer service upon leaving.

Riu Santa Fe: the best one I have ever stay
I have been in Los Cabos a few years ago. This hotel is over my expectation. Every thing is good Including food , cleanness, area, atmosphere, nice staff. the only thing I suggest is the room need a table and chair. The couch is too soft an low to sit on. I am sure I will come back when I come to Los Cabos again . I don't know other hotel will have this level or not.

Krystal Grand Los Cabos: Not Recommended
• Our flight was good and pretty much on time. Nothing special really while on-board, we upgraded to Rows 2 & 4 to give more leg room, but nothing else was special (no glass of bubbly like on Westjet when upgrading). Leaving from Calgary airport is always easy and not typically that busy so having Elite was not worth the money except for the extra leg room for my husband. Upon arrival in San Jose Del Cabo, to get onto the bus, the bus service didn’t have our name on their list, took a bit of ti[... read more]me for them to just say “get on that bus”, which took us to our resort (because of our late booking, maybe our names didn’t get put on the list), but all worked out fine.
• Check-in was pretty easy, our room was on the 6th floor facing the ocean – the room itself was quite old, but the beds were comfortable and the view was great. The mini fridge was not working but they replaced it. No chairs or small table on our little balcony, they also replaced it for us. If you used all the bottled water in the mini-fridge, you would be charged if ordering more. Our housekeeping staff were wonderful. Every morning we left them a cute pre-made thank you note (which we do on all our trips), along with a little chocolate bar and some pesos – so it appears they appreciate the little things. The 2nd last day we found a cockroach walking on our bedside table, we crushed it. But then the next morning there was another one walking on the floor. We didn’t say anything as we were leaving, but that was disappointing to see “bugs”.
• The Entertainment Team were not great, very little interaction with guests, and especially the kids who were very bored – not happy campers. We heard many negative comments from parents with kids on this. The Team were too laid-back, very lack lustre, and always late for the designated sports listed on the daily program. There were no “Shows” in the evening, nothing to do after having dinner, so that was disappointing.
• There were only 2 A-La-Carte Restaurants open each evening, plus the usual buffet. The other 2 restaurants were rotated every other day. You had to line up each morning by 9am to reserve your dinner times (either 6pm, 7pm, or 8pm), otherwise you could not get in. We ate at all 4 restaurants during our 7 days and the food was Good in our opinion. The Buffet was so-so, but not terrible.
• The Pools were not heated, very cold getting in so not many guests in the water. But, once you got in, your body got used to it.
• The Special Drinks made were not consistent, and not good. They did not have Kahlua, or Baileys, just a substitute and ran out of those liquors at times.
• The Coffee Shop was great, always a line-up, only 1 staff working throughout the day. They were charging $110 pesos for a little dish of Gelato in the coffee shop. That is not all inclusive.
• The beach was not a clean beach, lots of debris and garbage mixed in with the sand, not the safest for walking with bare feet or playing beach volleyball, etc. We didn’t see anyone attempting to clean the beach area by our resort.
• We spoke to many guests who experienced the same things as us above (some worse issues) and would not return to this resort in the future. If advertising All Inclusive, then they should not be charging extra for ice-cream, extra bottled water, have better Alcohol Brands, etc.

Barcelo Gran Faro Los Cabos: Barcelo Gran Faro visit
I had an excellent stay at Barcelo for 1 week. The staff all around were extremely friendly and welcoming! Luis in the VIP lounge was very helpful and accommodating when I needed to change rooms, which turned out to be a nice upgrade. The Italian and Mexican ala cart restaurants were outstanding.

Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos: Returning Pueblo Bonito Guests!
Everything was great! Location, beach, food, drinks, weather, resort, room, amenities and view are among the best! You won’t be disappointed, and we’ll definitely be returning. Make sure you take the shuttle to the Market at Quivira. It’s basically a modern food court where everything is included.

Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas: Great resort!
The hotel was very accommodating and had a lovely view. We had a problem mid week with our room and they found us a new room and gave us some extras for our trouble.
The view from the hotel is amazing.
The food was above average for resort food but still not the best.
Our kids aged 5 and 7 loved the kids club and water park next door at the Santa Fe (don’t book the Santa Fe with kids as it’s a party resort).

Krystal Grand Los Cabos: the Krystal Grand is where fun goes to die
The Good: those who do the real work, the servers, the cleaners, the bartenders are great, friendly hard working helpful.
The bad:
Food: There is one menu, day in, day out. About 10 flip up chaffing dishes.
Beach: Officially: Not to be used, ever. No life guard, no life preserver, no chairs or shade. According to them: illegal. Looks pretty though.
Pool: seats: want to pay $88 per day? No? Sucks to be you then. you get to fight for limited, rock hard wooden beds with very limited shade.
[... read more]Pool: entertainment/ Music. When I say the same six songs blaring over and over again I’m not exaggerating . And they could care less about the volume or selection.
Evening Entertainment: the Krystal Grand is where fun goes to die. There is no, none, nadda entertainment, anywhere.
In summary: Management deserves to be fired.
I would not return here if it was a gift. Life is just too short.

Riu Santa Fe: Nice looking but poor execution
The resort as I said in the title was very nice looking but the quality was poor. The food was very disappointing, especially the steakhouse. Instead of being à la carte most were buffets which confused me because I'm pretty sure they said they were à la. If you want good food DO NOT GO HERE. The beach was beautiful, although the sand was a bit course closer to the resort which hurt my girlfriend's feet. Other than that the water was beautiful and the sites around and a far were gorgeous. The st[... read more]aff were friendly at times but not overly friendly as I experienced in Cancun. Our room was amazing although I heard a lot of people had to change rooms around us for various reasons including people we went on vacationing with. They said their room smelled and there were stains on their sheets, we had no such problem. The resort itself was nice looking and the entertainment was top notch. The Riu parties (the main attraction) were a good time and the staff were extremely quick with drinks. Facilities were pretty clean (especially near the pool bars those lady cleaners did amazing) and they had a lot of staff. It was close to the marina which was so beautiful (highly recommend, it's very safe, go whale watching if your there in December). To sum it all up I would recommend for a younger person if you get it cheap but for anyone that wants a higher end resort don't go here you will be disappointed, just go to the one beside it.

Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas: Amazing resort
Just arrived back from a family vacation at this resort. Excellent service, food and resort. The only downside was the children’s club which had little to no activities. The lady in charge did not have any type of children skills or adult for that matter. Was not interested in engaging my 3yr old grandchild and I had to ask her for colouring paper as he sat with colouring pencils only . We had just arrived and completed the necessary paperwork when we were told she was locking up the room and w[... read more]e had to leave. The time schedule on the door stated they were to close one hour later.
Honestly nothing much to entertain him there anyway!
Overall we had an amazing time. Staff could not be nicer. Oh and if booking a Nexus tour, be sure to take a photo of yourself time stamped when waiting for the bus to arrive. We waited from 1.15pm to 2.30pm for our bus tour (scheduled for 1.30pm pick up) and seemingly the bus arrived but left without us. We did not see this bus arrive nor did anyone look for us. Nexus would not refund our money as our word that we were there waiting did not count. They offered to pick us up the next day but we could not go then. Very frustrating and we lost our money.

Secrets Puerto Los Cabos Golf & Spa Resort: Lovely resort
The food, staff, grounds and facility were all fantastic! I personally found the firm mattress to be hard on my back. The tablet outlining activities was also great, however we didn't get ours until 2-3 days into the visit. This tool is helpful, although changes to the location of the yoga not being reflected on the tablet was frustrating.

Riu Santa Fe: Excellent service
The grounds were impeccable, the staff were friendly, easy to communicate with, and very helpful! There was always a restaurant open somewhere whenever we wanted to eat. The entertainment was outstanding and we ended up attending all of them. The theme parties need to be seen to be believed.

Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas: Beautiful resort
Our first stay at the RIU Palace, Cabo San Lucas and would not hesitate to return. The resort is older and starting to show signs of aging, particularly in the pool areas. But overall the resort is very clean and extremely well maintained.
The staff were always friendly and interested in providing top level service. We had a junior suite with partial ocean view overlooking one of the pool areas and the sea of Cortez, excellent view. Our pool was the activity area so it could be a little noisy [... read more]during the day but at night it was quiet. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The bed was a little firm but we still had good sleep.
Food at the resort was plentiful but mediocre at best. I compare the food service to that we experienced on cruises and it doesn’t meet that standard. After seven days we decided that the large buffet restaurant had the best food offerings and it was generally good. The specialty restaurants were disappointing, they tried but missed the mark in most instances. The Italian restaurant was a great place for lunch, not as busy as the buffet and provided made to order pasta along with a nice salad bar and other food choices.
Another miss is with the wine on offer. Being a Spanish resort chain I was expecting some decent wine. Not the case by far. I have purchased wine for $5 a bottle that was way better than what was available. RIU needs to up their game in this area.
Entertainment and activities were very good, the entertainment/activity staff were fantastic. Bars were open and relaxing, extensive drink menus. Lots of seating around the pools. The beach is beautiful but caution is advised because of undertow.

Grand Decameron Los Cabos: Nice place
The hotel and grounds are well taken care of for its age. The food was good nothing fancy seemed like a favorite spot for northerners of Mexico as well. I will admit the beds could have been a bit softer but overall it's a good location and some very nice people work there.
