Luna Palace: Quaint and Clean

We have stayed here many times before and keep coming back. Friendly staff, every room faces the ocean. It feels like home. It is an older hotel but that is part of the charm. It is within walking distance to a lot of great restaurants.

Riu Emerald Bay: Awesome Time

What a wonderful vacation - Sunwing was on perfect time both ways no delays - the resort received 2 bus loads of guests from our flight but the check in was very quick and efficient - the room was wonderful and the view was breathtaking we were on the 14th floor - the elevator issue was not a huge problem to us - wait times were acceptable but we had friends on lower floors that seemed to have longer wait times than us - the staff was always attentive at the restaurants and the beer was cold :)  [... read more]the food was good and we did not go to any of the specialty restaurants - more than enough chairs and loungers around the pool and the beach - the Sunwing staff at the hotel were the best we have experienced in all our travels with Sunwing. The only thing I would add is the lobby bar, beach area and pool area should have table service with drinks this would have made the stay that much more special - yes you can get up and get your own drinks but for a Riu I am accustomed to table service - for this reason I would not rate the hotel a full 5 star but overall good value and with the right price I would go again.

Riu Emerald Bay: Beautiful and Clean Resort

My family and I stayed at the Rui Emerald bay for 7 days Jab 2020 and it was one of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed in. The pools were amazing, cleaned everyday, there was even a heated pool. The grounds were immaculate. Hotel staff were friendly and accommodating and the food was good. Beach was clean but lounge chairs we're a distance away I'm assuming because if the property line. One day I waited almost 1/2 hour for an elevator taking the stairs up and down twelve flights of stairs multiple times a day was not fun or relaxing. Overall I would recommend this resort.

Playa Mazatlan: Hotel Playa Mazatlan

Love this hotel and their staff. Excellent management. Very safe and clean. Great location. Been staying here since 1991!! Doctor on location. Nice gym with an excellent trainer. Right on the beach with beautiful sand, no rocks. Close to malecon and in the Golden Zone.

Riu Emerald Bay: Great resort

Food was good only wished they had more variety of stuff to eat after 10:30 (when the buffet closes)only choice is the food at the sports sports bar which was hot dogs hamburgers burritos & nachos (microwaved).. also keep in mind that this resort takes Canadian money so no need to get usd currency.

Riu Emerald Bay: Exceellent

Can't say enough good things about this amazing resort. The weather was windy and raining but the staff made the best of it with games and 'little'shows. The food was good, New Years Eve dinner was beyond reproach and the champagne just kept on flowing!!

Riu Emerald Bay: Loved the Resort

The whole family loved the resort from the location, food, ocean room, cleanliness of the resort. The staff work very hard to make you enjoy your vacation. Only complaint is the elevator service but we were you the 4th floor so we could do the stairs it was good exercise!

this hotel was our favorite place to go not any more up to a 16 min wait for elevators not very many reapeaters are happymany many mexican people no manners what so ever big storm while there all lower floors flooded out,

Everything was well organised. I had problem anywhere throughout my trip. Resort fascilities was also very good. Ample choice of food were also there. Staff people were very cooperative and nice........

Riu Emerald Bay: Not at all impressed with this last trip

Nice upgrades to the new family area. Major upgrades needed to the existing Riu Hotel. Many issues such as problems with elevators being closed, floods in the bathroom, toilets not working and they are overbooking the resort. We need to wait another week for a change if any. We were given the second floor with no view, The front desk said the problem is with the Travel agency not giving them the proper requests. This was not the case because I had a copy of our TripCentral reservations with deta [... read more]ils outlining our request. We were told they had overbooked sorry and no change at this time. Overall not at all impressed with the service received on this last vacation. I had read may trip advisor comments and really did not believe that this resort has lost its charm. I will not consider the Riu again as there are many others! The remaining staff around the grounds and pool bar and coffee bar truly are truly faithful and committed to making you stay as pleasurable as possible.

Riu Emerald Bay: Great week

The hotel is very large and can get busy! Loved: pools, great food, nice walkable beach, view from the room Got tired of: waiting at the elevators, all the insanely ridiculous and inconsistent rules at the water park (never did end up going down a slide - no jewelry, not tall enough, not old enough, no zippers 🙄), very small store with very high prices. Overall had a great week - enjoyed Mazatlan, very helpful kind people, lots of fun in the pools and the beach!

Las Flores Beach Resort: Nice stay at a nice place.

It is in a good location within Mazatlan ... central to everything. The rooms were very clean and the staff were all very friendly. The only issue I had was that I had to run the water for about 10 minutes before the "hot" water came to the shower.

Riu Emerald Bay: Fantastic Destination

After many southern vacations we have found a beautiful resort to vacation at, this ended up being my 4th time to Riu Emerald Bay in Mazatlan, Mexico. The hotel has just completed a large renovation and my daughter and I got rooms in the new part of the hotel. They added new pools including a new swim up bar, new restaurants, a small water park and play area, a work out area, another towel hut and many new washrooms. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable, the food is good with many cho [... read more]ices, the hotel is very clean and the staff are absolutely helpful, friendly, hard working and there is really no problem with a language barrier. The hotel also has a beautiful spa.

Riu Emerald Bay: Great Resort

Resort was great in all it had to offer, rooms, pools, beach, food, staff. Bigger balcony then usual, great ocean views from balcony. No line ups for food or drinks. Only downside was elevator wait and too many restrictions at water park, no zippers, jewellery, drinks, food etc etc.

El Cid Granada: A very nice resort.

The resort is divided into a larger part for the more energetic crowd and a smaller for the more mature, which is a good thing. There was not much grounds but grounds keeping were on top of whatever little there was. The public areas were clean and comfortable and so were the bathrooms. Our room was spacious and had a free safe. The linen were all clean and appeared quite new so also was the beach towels. Dining is a problem for the vegetarian as small pieces of pork can be found in almost  [... read more]everything including the salads, scrambled eggs etc. the same can be said for someone who does not use pork. Yet no one would starve as there was a wide variety of dishes but boy, do they ever overuse salt, sugar, oil and (hot) spices freely. The evening shows were all good and worth attending. Every member of the staff were found to be pleasant and helpful.

resort is too big and not managed well. needs more elevators. beds need to be thrown away and get new ones. cappacino in packages, with sugar. I don't take sugar. sportbar coffee too strong. never thrown out. been sitting there for hours.

Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay: Beautiful Bonito Emerald Bay

Beautiful resort The food is absolutely gourmet and high end. Evan the pool restaurant has healthy delicious choices. The pools are all amazing. The shuttle service was challenging. Sometimes available quickly and other times I had to walk. I have mobility issues so it was difficult for me. Overall I would go back. The spa is wonderful

El Cid El Moro Beach: A COMFORTABLE RESORT with AMAZING VIEWS

We loved our 1 bedroom corner suite with 2 marble bathrooms...perfect for our first vacay with our adult daughter. The grounds are beautiful with several pools. The restaurant options were fantastic. My favourite was the grilled baby octopus in La Concha. WoW !! So tender and tasty. And another favourite was the carpaccio in the Italian restaurant. Oh, was that delicious. Our very favourite people are Ramon with the eyebrows, and Noe Alvarez who greeted us the very first time with a huge smile. He was bellhop in La Castilla 9 years ago, now is supervisor for all the pools and many other jobs. He helped us get the room I wanted, he made dinner reservations for us...such good customer service and a good attitude, always smiling. Ramon M. has been our waiter and friend for many years. He has an instinct to appear with your favourite drink, always professional and always anticipating your needs. Good stories and authentic friendliness, this is Ramon. The shuttle is handy between hotels and especially for seniors. Reception is amazing in that they really try to accommodate your needs. A very good hotel close to the Golden Zone and several casinos. Only complaint...Not much to do in the evenings. Only bar open is the sports bar in La Castilla. Many nights they have loud and howling Spanish Karaoke...OMG, can't handle it !! And the entertainment in the show area is mediocre at best, if you've been to other resorts. Yes, evenings are boring at El Moro. They could open up a bar/lounge with more international music and interests in the meeting rooms in El Moro....Also need more liqueurs on all inclusive plan...only 3 ?? No Grand Marnier, no Drambuie, no Tequila liqueur.....that's going cheap ! We used to get flaming coffees included after dinner....what happened? Must pay extra for a latte or cappuccino now too. It's the little things being eroded that will decide where we go in the future.... Otherwise, the pros still outweigh the cons.

Riu Emerald Bay: Great trip

Beautiful, large beach. Very clean. Beautiful ocean view. Spaced out well so you don’t feel it is as large as it is. Currently under construction. Rooms were incorrect and hotel did not compensate in any way.
