Great Getaway!

This resort is on a beautiful beach at Cayo Coco. Place is very clean - staff are exceptional - from front desk to housekeeping to groundskeepers to food service staff. This is a safe and family friendly spot. We met numerous people who had been there several times over the past few years - which says a lot for the calibre of care given to their guests. Return visit

The friendly staff make this resort a memorable experience. As the resort is 16 yrs old, many staff have worked there since opening. It is showing signs of wear inside rooms & outside buildings. Food is average, repetitious if staying over 1 wk. We stayed on ground floor...convenient because no stairs but musty smelling. I would suggest 2nd or 3rd floors(stairs). Definitely a good deal, if you want a beach or pool vacation with 27-29C temperatures! Main stage is under repair...nightly show is in disco(musty & poor acoustics). As a group of 8, we made amazing friends there & had a good holiday. A few with tummy upset for a day or so. Visit Las Ranchas...a lobster shack nearby on beach. The beach(narrow when tide is in) is beautiful, loungers available, great for walking! If you don't require luxurious detail in a resort, Mojito is for you. The staff try hard to make your vacation special. Most of the people are 50+ who vacation here.

Mediocre resort

everything was clean but could use maintenance. for example the sidewalk bricks needed repair and the walkways across the lagoon also needed repair. some of the chairs and tables needed tlc. The theatre entertainment were pretty much the same show each night just different costumes and it was in the disco not the amphitheatre so it was not that comfortable. food was good and the service was good.

Very Clean resort

The hotel was nice very clean. the staff were fantastic people, very helpful and kind the food was only OK the a la cart restaurants were very nice the pool was clean and well taken care of there was lots to do

Love this place !!!

Just back to work after an amazing 9 day stay at Iberostar Mojito. the weather was amazing, the staff incredible and the overall trip a grand success. Everyday our room was made up expertly and the attention to detail at meal times and leisure times was outstanding. We got the feeling that the staff at Iberostar Mojito are happy to be at work and must be treated pretty well, and it shows.

Another great time!!

8th or 9th time here. Lost count. Fantastic, attentive and personable staff, from the bar tenders to the bell boys. Always aim to please and ensure your holiday is great. The food is decent for Cuban hotel food, though there are options to break the cycle if you need something a little different.

Stay away

very poor in relation to my other trips. beach is far far away over a long walkway which is in poor condition. beach is small and very dirty and unkept . due to the long distance a shuttle would have been nice. no bicycles or motor bikes to rent . games room with one pool table and a ping pong table is only open 6 30 pm to 1100 pm [how stupid ] . pool bar only serves burgers and fries from 12 noon and not 24 hrs as stated. music is loud and not worth listening to. foo [... read more]d in the dining room was poor in relation to other resorts i have been to in Cuba and i have been there 8 times.. room was outdated and the plumbing didnt work most of the time according to staff this resort is to be sold within a year . staff for the most part were friendly and helpful I would not recommend this resort.

Awesome staff and nice resort!!

We enjoyed staying at Iberostar resort in Cuba. The food at the buffet was very good, we mostly had grilled meats, fish, paella, rice and beans, etc. The fruits available were fresh. Remember to check out the churros stand, best churros ever!! The staff was friendly and helpful. The beach was excellent. The housekeeper is super amazing, the room was always spotless. During our stay we went to Morón which is a nearby city and it was great to see the local people. Overall, it is what I expected, I have travelled to many Caribbean countries. I enjoy learning about the unique culture, history, and cuisine of the Caribbean.

Had a wonderful time

Was there for a week with my girlfriend and my daughter, we had "superior" rooms, 2216 and 2218, top floor with balcony and lovely view of palm trees. Could hear the ocean in the background. The adult pool and the beach were our two favourite places, the pool steps from our room, the beach a 5 min walk along boardwalks, quite fascinating. The food shack at the beach is great for fries and burgers. The beach itself is quite small at high tide but still wonderful. Fresh bread, eggs, omelets, pancakes, fruit, fresh fruit drinks blended to choice, yoghurts, etc. There is a cute little mini-mall a 10 min stroll away. Leave the front entrance and hang a right, you'll see it on the left at the first intersection. On the top floor beside a really nice souvenir shop is a money exchange. Go on a weekday although it's open 7 days per week. Exchange rate is better on a weekday. Hire a Chevy and the taxi driver will take you to Lenny's Bar, a quaint little place about 20 minutes away, off the beaten track, for excellent lobster (25$ US) We went on the "Cuba: Sugar, Cigar & Rum" tour, $75 US per person, money well spent. First a boat ride through the mangroves, then a stop at a pretty bar for authentic pina coladas and some salsa music, a horse and buggy ride through Moron (fascinating), and then BEST OF ALL a 20 min train ride to a sugar plantation. If you're lucky, like we were, maybe you'll be allowed to sit up front with the conductors in the locomotive?! It was amazing. Then lunch at the sugar plantation, back into the bus for a look at the crocodile farm. A full fun-packed day, back in time for a quick dip and dinner.

Another amazing 2 weeks in paradise!

Iberostar Mojito is a quiet resort that is excellent for relaxation and rejuvenation and tends to attract a clientele not overly into 'partying'. Staff are friendly and very helpful - rooms are bright and sunny and clean. Food is not fancy - if you are a gourmand you will be disappointed - but tasty, well prepared and always available. Beachfront has been eroding somewhat over the years, but plans have been made to dredge and restore the shoreline. Poolside activities are well organized a [... read more]nd lots of fun - geared to different age groups. Nightly shows are exciting and colorful. Myself and a group of friends have returned many years in a row - often connecting with old friends that do the same - staff remembers you from previous visits and are always happy to see you return. Not a 5 star resort - but if you are looking to recharge your batteries in a comfortable, beautiful and safe place - Mojito is for you.

A home away from home

From the moment we arrived the staff treated us like we were part of their family. It also didn't come across too fake. We got checked into our room in the building we had requested. The rooms was as expected. Clean and simple. We were actually surprised that the pillows were even comfortable. Hit up the grill in the snack bar and the pig roast if you can for lunch. The cigar bar although quite the bar tender Franky made some amazing drinks. Let him surprise you. You won't be disappointed. Michal in the lobby bar also has 1 drink that will knock your socks off. Axel in the pool bar is very kind and gets to know your drink preferences. We had a great stay and would go back. Rated a 3.5 but more like a 4. It does need a little bit of TLC cosmetically but you see past that once you see how welcome and at home you will feel. If you want to bring stuff for the staff bring Imodium, tooth paste and Crazy Glue. This is what they are currently needing. You simply can't get it even if you have money right now.

very good natured staff, beautiful rooms and comfortable amenities.I liked the decor which was very lodge oriented with lovely stained glass and glazed tile. The gardens were spectacular and just a short walk to a taxi stand with ubiquitous vintage cars. The excursions were a blast, and we all enjoyed a great rest and good meals.

Exelent resort for fool relaxation

In this resort we were found everything for fool and deep relaxation. Comfortable accommodation, excellent service, amazing beach with snow white sand and crystal clear water. We found a spaces where we were alone or had a fun with other people. In our opinion this is right place for anybody who going to escape from big loudly city and relax in wonderful nature.

Welcomed like family

This resort will have you coming back time and time again. The grounds are clean, great gardens and rooms are clean. Food is always okay. I have never gone hungry! Or thirsty!! The people treat you like family. And they are. That is why I have gone 7 times. I miss my second home already.

Great resort,very friendly staff

We went as a family,the kids really enjoyed it. The staff were very friendly always a smile on their face.very good service in all restaurants. Entertainment at 4:00 at the pool, Saturday foam pool party and at 9:00pm Bingo every night, show at 9:30 each night with different themes.The dancers are very professional. We really enjoyed our stay, it was very emotional when we left as we got so attached to the staff after 8 days stay.

Great resort,but wouldn't book with HolaSun again

Resort is great., been there twice now...as always great people,service,beach..hmmm good. Flight however wasn't enjoyed...plane & crew ✈ didn't show up.thanks god we were not traveling with kids and infants. Still waiting for monetary reimbursement for one lost day. Rather than that would book this trip again....Viva Cuba...small but independent

Excellent vacation!!

The grounds are beautiful the grounds keepers do a wonderful job. We were in building 18 ground floor, the rooms do need updating but they are comfortable, housekeeping do an amazing job they keep the rooms spotless and always have a smile. Food is good, there's a good variety, at the buffet there's choices of pasta, grilled chicken, beef and fish. There's a snack bar by the pool that makes excellent pizzas and at the beach they offer burgers,hot dogs and fries. The beach is a 5min. walk from th [... read more]e main area of the resort but well worth it. There are plenty of beach cabanas and chairs and the men that work on the beach are very helpful. The beach is beautiful, it's one of the reason we keep going back along with the people who work at this resort, they are so friendly and appreciative. A special thank you to Arquimides who is very attentive to everyone's needs and does an excellent job.

Amazing staff, good beach, fun experience

The best feature of this resort is amazing staff. Bar staff are great, always greet you with a smile. Sandros, Aireio, Axle, Freddy are great. The other vacationers at this resort are very friendly and fun. Beach and water are very good. Resort is in good sharp, rooms are ok, should be updated. Pool area is good. Breakfast buffet is ok, Omlete station is good, lack of meat and often potatoes. Lunch and dinner buffets also just ok. Pasta station is good, grill station is ok. Always the same thing [... read more]s, should have theme nights with different items. The a la cartes are ok, not good. Entertainment is ok. Overall the resort is very good for the price. The great people make this resort. Many returning vacationers. However, do not travel with Cubana Airlines. Our flight from Toronto, scheduled for 6:40 am, departed at 12:15 am. Delayed by 20 hours with no reason given and no communication.

Good value, service top quality,

You pay less but still get a great vacation. 5 star beach, top service not a new resort but still great. We are not familiar with all the bar drinks so it would have been nice to see a list of the tropical varieties. We traveled as a couple and met many happy vacationers.

The Iberostar Mojito was truly fantastic!

The grounds were beautiful and maintained daily. There were many pools to choose from, including a children's pool with activities. The staff treated the kids as if they were their own, so the parents could have some adult time. All staff was very friendly and obliging, and always smiling. The buffet was extensive and delicious, and the a la carte restaurants were intimate and refined. The beach was to die for...the whitest sand and turquoise water. The weather was perfect for every day of our 10 day stay...sunny, 80 degrees, no humidity and a gentle breeze. We took a couple of excursions, which will be life long memories.
