The Buenaventura Golf and Beach Resort: Nice but not what I expected

The hotel is beautiful and the staff are Amazing, very helpful . Service was exceptional for the most part. I was disappointed by the lack of activities - no shows at night, no dancing. We were on the Sunwing plan , and what trip central told us was there was a cocktail bar and one restaurant that was not included. But we found out pina coladas and mojitos , pretty standard drinks everywhere, were not included. I am a dog lover but there were a lot of dogs everywhere at this resort , even at [... read more] the nice restaurants. Our last night we were at the Japanese restaurant , very nice and there was a large dog that was standing in the center of a bunch of tables. It should have at least been in close proximity to the family’s table not out in the open like that. We were told that the teppenyaki was included in the Sunwing package - but we only got the food, not the live show

Riu Playa Blanca: Nice clean resort

Grounds were well groomed, clean. Definite notable priority given to Spanish speaking patrons Not too comfortable with male staff in women’s bathrooms at all times. Buffet was great and satisfied all. The a la cartes were hit and miss. Sometimes it was good, sometimes it wasn’t. Christmas Eve dinner was very disappointing. We had a group of twenty, stood in line at 630am with everyone else to get a reservation. By the time we were seated the staff seemed to be done with the evening and us. Mo [... read more]st of us ordered the special ‘Surf and Turf’ all of our lobsters were burnt. There was little to no meat inside it was sooo dry and all of our filets were served well done regardless of what temperature had been ordered. And no one came to clear our table. We sat at a dirty table for at least half hour to an hour before getting dessert which was served before our dinner plates were cleared. Most staff had left, except for one server who remained taking care of another table. Rooms were always cleaned and a left with a lovely flower display. Would have liked to have water bottle replacement daily in room without having to request. Sports bar food needs to be upgraded.

Westin Playa Bonita: Beautiful resort but…

We spent a week at Westin Playa Bonita, Panama. The facility is great, clean and organized and staff are friendly. I rate it as 5/5 for the amenities, service and facility. However, I have a a number of comments and suggestions: 1. There were no entertainment activities or performance shows for guests, particularly at night. I suggest management should look into this. 2. Wifi signal in the pool and beach areas were terrible. With a beautiful scenery, it should be proudly shared with guests’ [... read more] family members and friends. But terrible signal made this impossible. I would think that this is an excellent opportunity to advertise the facility without spending a dollar. Having a better wifi signal would allow guests to show the beauty of the facility. 3. In term of excursions, there was not enough info about other attractions besides those presented at the hotel. For example, red bus hop on hop off bus tour, etc. 4. Regarding Sunwing - we did not understand why Sunwing picked Rio Hato airport which is 2 hours away from the resort instead of one that is closer to Westin, e.g., Tocumen International Airport. With bad traffic, transportation to the resort could take up to 4 hours. Overall. I would rate this vacation package 3.5 out of 5.

Westin Playa Bonita: Worst Resort Ever

Limited activities for guests, noisy locals always in pool, TV didn't work, telephone didn’t work, constant power outages, the.best tasting food was the salads, I’ve had my experience with rundown hotels but this one takes the cake.

Bijao Beach Resort: Beautiful resort

I think the hotel, the grounds, the pools are beautiful. The food was amazing. The only thing that I was disappointed in is that they don't speak English. The beach is beautiful. The staff were amazing. The cleaners for our room were super sweet.

Riu Playa Blanca: Good holiday

Had a good week. Staff in general were mainly good. Bar staff knew their stuff. Was nice to have drink of the day signs up at lobby bar etc to try something new. Buffet always had a good variety & no problem finding a table. No reservations for a la cartes. Went at 630 and got seated right away each time. Steak house & Italian were both very good. Beach isnt what we are used to. Sand not white and hot in sun. Ocean rough and dark water but we swam in it every day and waves made it fun. Room [... read more]s were clean. Staff constantly mopping & cleaning hallways & any walk ways. Less than 20 minutes from airport for Canadians. Overall a good holiday.

Riu Playa Blanca: Riu quality

We have stayed at Riu resorts over 6 times in the past, first one in Panama. being 10 minutes from the airport was great. On the way home they allow water, pop and your own food as they do not sell at airport, limited seats so get there early. Now Panama and the resort. We went end of November and were worried about the rain, It was Hot and even on overcast and rainy days it was still beautiful, rained only a few times and less than an hour or at night. The horses on the beach stay away someone had their stuff taken when they were on the horses, heard another story some one bought drugs off them and it was laced. Please beware. There is a strike in Panama that is causing some disruption on excursions and for shows getting to perform at resort. For me I go to relax and hand by the pool with Friends and everything was just fine for that. Food Italian lasagna was the best, Steak house the rib eye, and chicken. I didn't make to the Thai but my friends said the chicken was great. It was a great trip but I never have to go back to Panama. I love the hot weather, but this wasn't even the hot season and it was too hot. Beach you cant see the bottom and we were warned about stingrays so no thanks.

Grand Decameron Panama: An amazing experience

The resort was clean even though it rained often but not for long periods they were very good at clearing debris. The food was good for a resort I wish there was more choice at the buffet but what was there was good . The cost for was you receive was very good the beach was nice , plenty of pools , and a nice water slide .

This was my first time in Panama, not only at the Royal Decameron Resort, so I didn't know what to expect... Of course I checked the reviews from other people, but everybody has their own impressions... The member of the staff were very friendly and helpful, always smiling, not just expecting tips...like it happened to me in other places... The room, the lobby, the restaurants, all common areas very clean, always somebody to pick up a paper or even a leaf... The only suggestions I will have f [... read more]or improvement, not as a critique, will be: - advertised in the lobby, where everybody could see and read the daily activities scheduled and location, regarding the entertainment also restaurants due for buffet and snack duty... the resort is pretty large and are a lot of stairs... is hard after you are exhausted by heat to go back and forth... - the stand up comedy act and all other jokes as part of the entertainment program should be also translated in English... if you don't know Spanish you are missing a lot... - for some reason my room had no artwork on the walls at all, was looking kind of cold and empty... also no plastic furniture on the balcony, so I couldn't enjoy that space... That is about all I had to say!

Riu Playa Blanca: RIU PLAYA BLANCA , PANAMA

Very clean resort, lots of help, many bars, good liquor(!) & food. Room nice & spaces! My travel agent Tammy Beamish requested ground floor for me and I was very happy. Resort property non Smoking area, only beach or outside hotel permitted. A la carte unlimited, no need to book: first came first serve. Resort very close to airport. In the way back you have to pay cash AEROPORT FEE (about $37.25 per person) and its take forever , only one person colleting money. No AC @ airport , no dut [... read more]y free store. If you do like to get home some tobaccos & liquor you have to go to local store.

Riu Playa Blanca: Great Experience

Well kept resort overall. immaculate clean resort..amazing food, great friendly staff, no complaints of any kind. Incredible hot weather all week long. What more can you ask for in an all inclusive vacation?

Riu Playa Blanca: Did not disappoint

The resort is beautiful. The people are very friendly. It has a relaxed atmosphere with nightly entertainment for children at 8 pm and adults at 9 pm. A really good variety of food is offered (although at times it is cold) and many, many alcoholic drinks. The fridge in the room is filled every other day with cans of pop, bottled water and beer and there are four bottles of liquor in the room for your use. The resort has two a la carte restaurants. Grand Decameron Panama: Great vacation stay

We spent a week at the Royal Decameron at the end of April 2023 and had an amazing stay. Check in/out was a breeze and booking excursions was really easy. I would highly recommend the tour of Panama City and the Panama Canal if you have never been before. Food wise, the buffets were really good, the restaurants were great. We upgraded to an Ocean View room and I would highly recommend booking that if you can. On the topic of rooms, the rooms are a bit dated. That said, the bed was comfortable and the A/C worked fine. Honestly if you are going on vacation to spend time in your room, what is the point? The beaches are great for long walks and the sunrise is worth getting up for. The surf can be heavy, so pools are probably a better choice if you are travelling with small children or are not comfortable in the ocean. There is a small island off the shore from the resort. We took a really fun snorkeling tour of the island with Farallon Adventures. Walk down the beach past Casa Gresca and look for a blue and white sign in the beach or call them at 507 6645-6690. The thing we found most amazing about the resort was the staff. Everyone was super friendly and outgoing from the front desk to the gardeners. The animation staff were a treat to interact with. Edwin, Robert, Xamaira, Alex, Dianallyz, Jorge and everybody else really helped make our stay a ton of fun. My girlfriend loves going to the shows and doing poolside activities. I prefer spending time at the beach or in the ocean. That said, I found the staff engaging enough that I was participating in the poolside activities and enjoyed the shows as well. The dancing in the shows was top notch and the staff really put their hearts into it. It really felt like everybody there took pride in their jobs and put a lot of effort in to everything they did. This was my first visit to Panama and I would happily go back to the country and to the Royal Decameron.

It was our second time staying at this resort we had a great time no complaints it was close to the airport Staff very helpful food was great the drinks were good never had to wait long for a drink at any bar

Riu Playa Blanca: BEST RESORT I’VE VISITED

I dont know where to start. This resort is amazing. Panama in general is amazing. The resort staff were all so lovely and accommodating while the food and drinks were on par! The sunwing representative Christian was amazing from the beginning and ensured we had everything we needed. The excursion to anton valley was much recommended! All in all 5/5 resort and experience

Everything about this resort was fantastic! Delicious food, lovely beaches, clean pools, room and resort cleanliness! The team was very helpful and friendly. I highly recommend and would return!!!

Playa Blanca Resort: amazing resort

The grounds , hotel lobby and rooms were very clean. The food selections in the buffet and a la carte restaurants were amazing. There was never a day where we didn't enjoy our meals. The staff were very friendly especially Nemo. The only hiccups would be the water in shower was not always hot but they were quick to try and fix it. When trying to get customers to participate in activities especially during the evening entertainment, english speaking interpretation would have been greatly apprecia [... read more]ted. Dreams Playa Bonita Panama: This was an amazing resort

We thoroughly enjoyed this resort & can’t say enough great things about it. The large rooms were very clean & comfortable. The restaurants were great. Wonderful staff served great food and the buffet also had a nice variety. We spent a lot of time in the pool & beach. There is not enough shade & guests tend to save the chairs in the shade even with the signs saying not to do that. We noticed some chairs had not been used for hours so the staff should remove the towels more often. The Panamazing staff that recommended & did the tours made them fun & very informative. We’ve already recommended this hotel to friends.

Grand Decameron Panama: Beautiful and Peaceful!!

Our stay was on the All inclusive Plus section (April 6th to 17th 2023) which I recommend if you are looking for a quieter/not so busy section. Food was fantastic (my scale would attest to that lol) Lots of beach to walk which was amazing...loose sand not touched by high tide gets extremely hot...have your flip-flops handy. I have no complaints about this resort but I am also not the picky/princess type...I accept that I am visiting a foreign country and that things will be different therefore  [... read more]we learn to adapt. All the staff we interacted with were polite, courteous and respectful. It is a big resort and yes there are lots of stairs...again we adapt. We are there to relax, not run a marathon. A few things to know: there are no coffee machines in the rooms but coffee was available at the lobby by 5:30-6am or in restaurants/buffet by 7am. Facecloths are not supplied...only bath and hand towels in the room. If you are on the Plus side, beer will be given to you in the can (bring a beer cozy or drink it fast) if not it's in a paper cup unless you have your own mug and the paper cup applies to the whole resort for cocktails. If you are travelling with Air Transat as we did, I do recommend you go to the welcome meeting a day or two after your arrival as there is good information given. Not once did I see a rep from Sunwing during my 12 days there so not sure if they hold the same type of information session. Last but not least, you will not be bothered to take a tour where they try to sell a timeshare.
