Worth Every Minute

I enjoyed every minute of my trip. I enjoyed both the ocean and pool every day. Now the food is amazing not even including the 24 hr all inclusive service! I really couldn't think of one bad thing about my experience and I can't wait till I can't afford this type of vacation again! Costa Rica didn't want me to leave lol my flight got delayed due to mechanical issues in Toronto and we stayed an extra night! I felt so lucky to get checked back into the hotel one extra night:)

Great spot, Highly recommend this resort

Could not be happier with all aspects of this location. Food, service, rooms and facilities all top notch. All staff super friendly and helpful makes you feel they appreciate having you around. Great vacation and loved how clean & safe Hotel and surrounding villages are. Do yourself a favor and stay at this Hotel and visit Costa Rica.

Amazing resort - take me back!

Absolutely amazing resort. Very modern and clean... always good food available 24/7. All inclusive buffet was above average always something that you will like and for an all inc I found it well done. Never met such brilliant staff ever. The beach was great and feeding the monkeys was a huge highlight of ours... loved the fact that were 5 pools as they all catered for different things such as relaxing, volleyball, swim up bar etc.... we left a small tip each day for the maid and she always le [... read more]ft a special something for us made of towels or went out of her way to leave something special. You don't even have to leave your lounger at the pool. bar tenders (especially Alonso) will ask what you want to drink. Even making a surprise drink became fun we tried all sorts of cocktails and frozen drinks. Honestly fell in love with Costa Rica. - pura vida!!

Beautiful Resort!

The property grounds were all kept and clean. The ocean view from the rooms was amazing! Such a pretty place to vacation. The staff were fairly friendly, the rooms were clean and the food was delicious! Certainly a great place to get away enjoy the sun and some wildlife. Would absolutely recommend. Only suggestion for people looking for some more exciting excursions, they are about 4 hours away from the hotel. Keep that in mind while booking if you're looking for mountain/ volcano adventures.

Wonderful Vacation!

The Riu Palace was so much more than expected. The rooms and grounds were immaculate, the food delicious, and the shows were fun. The people that worked at this resort were kind, friendly, and accomodating. I would definitely recommend this resort and Costa Rica, in general. What a beautiful place to be.

Great Resort

Large property with the sister property next door. All the staff that we encountered were super friendly and helpful. The food and alcohol choices were amazing and varied. The pools and beach were great also with plenty of seating.

Beautiful, lush resort

This resort and the staff exceeded our expectations. The grounds were kept lovely and very clean. We asked for joining rooms by the pool; we got exactly that. The hotel is done in a very modern style. The rooms were spascious and very clean. The food was great (lots of seafood). We will definitely return. The only downside were the beds; not comfortable.

Amazing Resort & Friendly Staff

My husband and I stayed at the resort from Dec 2 to Dec 9 and we had the most amazing time. We saw monkeys, turtles, snakes and the animals sounds coming from the trees each morning is truly something you need to get up early to hear. The rooms were clean and stocked and resort grounds were immaculate. Bring bug spray as you will need it in the evening. The entertainment was great. I have a food allergy and was very anxious about what I could eat at the resort. When I arrived I spoke with the f [... read more]ront desk and they provided me with a letter explaining my food allergy & what the kitchen staff needed to do to ensure that there was no cross contamination. I would provide to the restaurant manager the letter and he would bring out the chef who either make me a special meal or we would through the buffet and he would point out the safe foods for me. A special thank to Ramon and his team. To Jean Carlos. To William at the Steakhouse who ensured I could eat safely. To all the staff at the RIU your friendly attitude, you smiles & laughs made it a beautiful place to vacation.

Quality vacation

This Resort me and even exceeded all our expectations - we have been to 10 Riu Palaces and we know we will unless weather is bad, we wil not be disappointed. The grounds are immaculate. The pools are spacious and the water temperature is warm. Buffet and specialty restaurants of of very good quality. Only 40-minutes from airport, located on a long, wide sandy beach with easy access to ocean. Lots of worthwhile excursions offered, and a big new zip-line is next door. Very nice resort

We found the staff very friendly and accommodating. The hotel was clean & well kept, the grounds were beautiful. Washrooms too far away from pool & beach area. The beach area should have a bar & a lunch area...a bit of a jaunt back to hotel We would choose Riu again.

Awesome Resort!!

The RIU Palace Costa Rica is a beautiful resort. The grounds are always being cleaned, the rooms were wonderful....loved the rain shower. The food was amazing and there was a great selection. Loved the Italian restaurant selections and the Grill restaurant with the Lobster and steak. There was always something to do and the entertainment staff were such hard workers always making sure everyone was having a good time (thank you Kathy - you were GREAT!!). We will definitely go back to this resort again, and next time stay longer than a week.

Amazing resort

No complains I give it a10 in all categories food was great rooms well kept waitresses friendly and courteous pools very clean grounds well kept.all in all a great place for a vacation. It's a real palace

Honestly cannot say anything bad... Awesome awesome

In a nutshell, my wife and I were on our 14 day stay at the Palace, and as much as we wanted to do excursions , we had no sense of bordem or that an escape was needed. The food was Riu quality (awesome), and the service was exceptional, honestly. As any Riu, the grounds were perfection and the liqour was hard as a rock ;) its beaches were prestine with their cocoa powder sand, and spotless. Not our last time.

Palace in the jungle

Very nice and is worthy of 4 stars! Staff was eager to please and friendly. Rooms smelled a bit musty but thats to be expected as it is very humid there! Mostly ate at the buffet. Their omelets are amazing!! Great and big selection of foods and desserts! Buffet foods werent always the hottest, but still good! Dined at the steak house 1 night and all 3 of us loved it!! Huge portions and delicious! Only complaints.. we found the fridge in our room not cold. We had to chill our drinks on ice. All the floors throughout the resort are very slippery. Nearing the end of our trip we were getting tired of always watching how we walked! The pools shut down every night at 6pm. This is when it gets dark but they have good lighting so not sure why they do this! The bar closes every night by midnight. We had a jungle view room and highly recommend it! In our opinion the ocean view would not be worth the extra expence as the ocean is a fair distance from the resort and you would be looking over the grounds and pools way more so then the ocean! If we returned to Costa Rica would we stay here again? Absolutly!

Fantastic Place!!

Service is excellent - people are nice. Food is good - can't think of a better place I wanted to be. So much to see and do. Coco Beach is absolutely wonderful!!! Second time round at the Riu Palace for me. I will go again in a minute. Weather is good - even in the rainy season (only rains at night).

Absolutely stunning resort

Honestly, we loved everything about the Riu Palace, and after exploring the Riu Guanacaste (next door), we were very happy that we chose the palace. The grounds were amazing, the food was amazing, the pools were great and the staff was all extremely friendly and helpful. The cost of the photos that the resort photographers took was a bit ridiculous ($15 PER PHOTO to put them on a disk - with nothing printed) but that's my only complaint. Also, if you run out of sunscreen, there are people in t [... read more]he lobby with a tub that offers left over sun screen OR take the taxi boat into Coco Beach and you can purchase brand name sunscreen for $11 at the pharmacy... (To avoid payin $40 at the souveniour shops by the resort)

Beautiful resort everything was fabulous

Only complaint only one washroom by pools. Everything else was fabulous. Staff amazing as was food and resort. Le carte restaurants really good and many to chose from. Pool staff around constantly to serve drinks, high end alcohol.

Super holiday

Our stay at the Riu Palace Costa Rica Hotel was very enjoyable and relaxing. The food was amazing and delicious. There were so many choices. The only restaurant that we didn' t care for was the one beside the Japanese restaurant. We ate lobster, salmon, steak etc. The disinfectant used to clean the rooms seemed very strong as we had to open the windows daily to air out the room.

AWESOME RESORT!

EVERYTHING WAS FABULOUS AT THIS RESORT! ROOMS, SERVICE, WEATHER WAS EXCELLENT. TRAVEL A LOT AND THE RIU IS ONE OF THE NICEST PLACES WE HAVE STAYED...NOT TO MENTION THE AMAZING FOOD! WOULD RETURN TO THIS RESORT AGAIN.

2nd time there, love it.

The entire place is just beautiful, well kept. Food is excellent. Pools and fountains are nice. Service is excellent. Complained about room floor not being clean the 2nd day and from that point no problem anymore.
