AWESOME VACATION SPOT!

We just spent our 2nd vacation at Luxury Bahia Principe Bouganville and had a wonderful time! The hotel was clean, the staff friendly and the food was good! Would definitely recommend this hotel! It even has a casino (albiet, small - but it's there and lots of fun!) 2 wonderful pools - a quite one and a PARTY one! If you go, be sure to wander over to the infinity pool located along the beach. It's beautiful.

Beautiful Grounds

Luxury Bahia Principe Bouganville was a dream come true. The first impression does not lie. Grounds and common areas are expansive and excellently well kept. Check-in was efficient. As our group had booked 3 rooms, as I had just had knee surgery, they were able to commendate my in changing rooms within our group so I could have a first floor room. The buffet restaurants had a variety items, especially if you are fish lover. The specialty restaurants did not fail to impress us. Thanks to my butler Carlos, we were able to surprise 2 people in our party with decorated rooms and Birthday cake, which was for our very reason we went on vacation. The pool areas were clean and the bar staff were attentive, the animation team was friendly and had no problem to get group participation. I had never seen exercises bikes that go into the pool, but it was fun. The only problem in the pool areas was lack of shade or the ability to get a shaded area unless you were up at the crack of dawn. i thank you for very enjoyable holiday.

Beautiful resort

The grounds were beautiful..well kept. The food was good..and great service..The Best was they finally are making The Ceasar!!!. The staff were all very friendly..our room was great. And well stocked every day.

Fabulous Resort

We were at the Bahia Principe Bouganville in April 2019. We absolutely loved this resort. It's Beautiful, clean and well maintained. The landscapes are gorgeous with mature trees and beautiful plants and flowers, the beach was fantastic. They have a 5 star service and the food was amazing. We'll definitely go back.

The Luxury Bahia Principe Bouganville is a jewel of a resort near La Romana in the Dominican Republic!

We were very impressed by the gardens, walks and pools across the resort and its neighbouring Bahia Principe resort to which we had access. One of the many fine restaurants was the Don Pablo serving French cuisine, which was our favourite.

Amazing resort in all ways

The hotel was clean and I mean clean ! The workers were outstanding in their different duties they had, from the hostess at the restaurants to the bartenders to the entertainment groups - everyone was friendly always smiling and always available to you when you needed them. Check in was a breeze and our room was beautiful . The food was very good and plenty of it - Outstanding the Don Pablo restaurant was my compliments to the chefs. Probably won’t return...

The resort and grounds are beautiful. Staff are friendly and helpful. Free wifi is impossible to get. Lots of chairs and shade on beach, but water is murky and rocky. Not very accessible. Didn’t like the food at all.

Amazing!! Would absolutely return!!

Beautiful resort, from the grounds (landscaping well maintained and gorgeous) to the rooms and of course the beach!! Lots of food choices at the restaurants. Don Pablo- a la carte restaurant was superb!! Rooms are very large and very clean. Beach was amazing. Great sunsets. Lots of lounging chairs with plenty of shades areas if you want. Very good

Servers in this resort were very nice, very helpful. I had no hot water in my room for two days, after I asked for four times, it got fixed. My room was always clean. Pool also was clean. The beach was okay.

Great resort

Food : 5/5 Rooms :5/5 Cleanliness: 5/5 Staff:5/5 Pools:5/5 Beach:4/5 Nothing to complaint about. Beach is nice but the water is not as blue and clear as other resorts. Other than that it is a really nice resort

Beautiful resort

The grounds were beautifully manicured, lots of variety and colour making walking around on the resort very pleasant. the food, hospitality of all staff and the room were wonderful. Air transat staff were also very helpful.

Absolutely wonderful!!

This is our second visit to a Bahia. The first in Punta Cana and the second in La Romana. The hotels are very consistent in their service overall. I cannot say enough about the people and the staff - warm, genuine and welcoming! We tipped well not because we had to but because we wanted to and the staff deserved it.

Amazing Resirt

This resort was beyond our expectations. Upon arrival we were greeted with cold drinks and cool clothes. We were given the room we requested upon booking, a large, beautiful, very clean , well stocked, comfortable very close to main pool area and beach on the adult only side. All services were provided at this resort, including turn down service each night. The buffet on both sides of the resort were huge with a different menu each night. The entertainment was awesome both during the day at pool [... read more]side and shows in the evening. We have been to many resorts, and Bouganville would be our best choice to date. Thank you to all staff at Bouganville who made our stay a fabulous one.

Second time there and still wonderful

Not sure how some people can complain about this place. This was my second time there and everything was great. Service was outstanding. Food was amazing, always had something different each night in the buffet. The staff were all very friendly and went out of their way to please you. The water is not the crystal clear teal colour, but I am more a pool guy anyway. If you can fly into La Romana airport and save the 90 minutes transfer time versus 20 minutes. Heaven on Earth

We loved this resort, it had everything we wanted. I enjoyed the activities and also the beach and pool. We were pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. Also the people we super nice and helpful.

Great Resort...

The hotel was great...the grounds are immaculate very well taken care of. They have 2 pools in the adult section..the quiet pool and the "busy pool'...we spent most of our time in the quiet pool side....easy to get drinks and lots of loungers for the guest's. Booking the restaurants was a little trying...however we managed to eat at places where we wanted. The booze was top shelf...including Crown Royal ! The staff was great....they really tried to accommodate everyone. The beach was very clean. [... read more]...however if you are not there by 10 A.M. you will not get a lounger....the beach is busy ! Overall would I go there again...absolutely! I loved the resort....La Romana is the place to go.

Great resort, definitely recommended.

Very nice resort, with beautiful grounds and well kept. Great pools and beach areas, friendly staff and our butler was awesome. Nice room, good food at the buffet and the a la cartes. Stayed for 10 days and would definitely go back and recommend it to others. The Bouganville side is adults only and great for couples but you can access everything on the Romana (family) side also.

Pampered in Paradise

Terrific place! The rooms are fairly modern and spacious. The grounds are immaculate. 2 pools (one quiet) offer whatever you're looking for... both have swim up bars. 2 buffets and 3 a la cartes… plus you have reciprocal rights to the adjacent B.P. La Romana with more dining options. Beach is nice: tall palms and lots of palapas. Staff were amazing! We try to get away a couple of times a year and this place was among the best we've been to. We would unreservedly recommend the Bouganville to anyone looking for a relaxing week in the sun.

Beautiful resort

Do not believe the bad reviews, the resort is awesome. The grounds are impeccable, the pools are very well kept. The service in the bars and restaurants are excellent. Lots of loungers, both shade and sun. The rooms are very well appointed. Good selection of food at the buffet and Don Pablo was very good. If you want white sand and crystal clear blue water , you won't find it here. The beach is a nice long walking beach. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Plan to return.

Great Adult Resort !

Super frendly staff, great buffet food, great a la cart restaurants, Super clean rooms and grounds, they don’t waterdown drinks, amazing pool bartenders, ocean was a bit blury because of the river running into it ( bottom sand mixing) not because of dirty water. We knew this going there. Reserving a day snorkel excursion is a must at Catalina island. Speak to Jessica at the hotel, super friendly ! The only negative was the return bus ride , they were late 40 mins,
