Beautiful Resort

The Cayo Coco beach is beautiful. Hotel Playa Paraiso is a great place to getaway. The food is delicious. The food at the Indian restaurant was fabulous. The majority of the staff are very friendly. A great choice for a week in the sun!

Nice Family Resort

The grounds were well maintained. I noticed that the staff put the loungers by the pool and on the beach away at night so the stray cats and dogs couldn't sleep on them. The room was clean. The service was good but often slow service at the restaurant by the pool. The activities were sufficient for families. Very nice family resort.

My 4th visit - love it

Smaller resort, you can walk from one end to the other in 5 minutes. Clean and well kept. Friendly staff and an ocean/beach to die for. Only 12 minutes from the airport, and you can safely walk the beach east or west for a mile

Stay away for now

grounds are nice beach great and down hill from there. Water in room would run out. .Bathrooms in Lobby in the lady's room had issues! Property changed hands Jan 1 may have something to do with things being let go.

Fairly good resort

The resorts small size meant that it was possible to get anywhere in less than 5 minutes. Everything was close by. The food in the Buffett hall was good. The hotel room had a little bit of an unpleasant odour.

Good vacation

Group of 4 (2 couples) all had a lovely, relaxing vacation. Check in/out. Easy, efficient. Rooms were fine. Great water pressure, lots of hot water, clean. Bed a bit hard. Resort grounds well maintained, pool fine. Not all public bathrooms in working order. Our only complaint. Beach awesome. Food was fine, much better than other resorts we've been to. Staff absolutely wonderful.

Amazing time away r&r

Great value. Quiet, peaceful and relaxing. Great experience for the value. Would definately return. Felt extremely safe and valued by staff during my stay. Met several people who frequent cuba and have stayed in multiple places. They all consistently recommended Pestana and they where right. It exceeded my expectations!

Very nice!!!

The Pestana Cayo Coco is a really nice resort. The rooms could use a little updating but were quite comfortable. The resort is small enough to walk around and get everywhere quickly, especially to the beach. The beach is beautiful and we never had a problem getting a lounger. The food was good, great pizza grill near the beach, we never went hungry. The staff is amazing and the grounds are beautiful. The beach service is fantastic. Pestana holiday

I had the best 7 days. The people there are so nice, friendly and eager to help. Always with a smile on their faces. Everything was just perfect. I’m going back for sure. But next time I will definitely go outside the resort and see Cuba.

Amazing beach!

The beach was absolutely stunning white sand calm waters! I had difficulties with some room issues as the bath tubs are a little to high for me but front desk was able to help me the next day! Food was a 4star but the beach was breathtaking! Will definetely return.

Fabulous resort

I had a fantastic time at this resort. It was my second time there. I have no complaints at all everyone was super nice and made our stay fabulous. We will definitely go back. I would like to thank Beth McKinley at Tripcentral once again for making booking a trip so stress free. We will definitely be calling her again on our next trip.

Great week (Nov 4th to 11th)!

Good hotel, decent buffet food, very tasty specialized restaurants, great pizza by the beach, great staff all around, clean rooms, great weather, ...and most importantly: beautiful beaches! Probably wouldn't hurt for Pestana Group to reinvest some money into infrastructure and some customer service to make this resort stand-out from others...it's sometimes the little "annoying" things that are a nuance, but I won't get into all the details... Word of caution to Cuban Hotel Managers, etique [... read more]tte classes to locals visiting resorts would go a long way!! (it seemed to be more popular for locals on wknds). Cuban people should definitely take advantage of what their beautiful country has to offer but need to get accustomed to being exposed to so variety...their behaviour, especially at Buffet restaurant is very unfortunate! And, in a very ironic way, locals seemed to be less worried about cleaning up after themselves... Overall, recommend and would revisit the Pestana Cayo Coco!

Good time in Sep-Oct 2018

It is a great resort with fine food and great beach (no restroom/toilet though). The staff is very friendly. Buffet is great with lots of choice and variety. Restaurants are great. Very close to the airport.

Another outstanding vacation

Second time at the Pestana. Even better this time. The hotel was great, rooms were clean and food was exceptional however the best part of the trip was the people that worked there. Friendly, supportive and fun. The cuban pool party was fantastic. Pinky and Obe, you are exceptional managers. NAYA still the friendliest, caring and best part of the trip!!! Steve xo

Mediocre Family Vacation

We were greeted by the customer service manager clapping and welcoming us in to the resort. We were also greeted with drinks. At front desk we had major confusion because we were a group of nine. Check in time wasn't until 3 p.m. and they told us that we can leave our suitcases, change, and make use of the facility until our rooms were ready. Just before we began to put our suitcases in storage to change for the pool, one of the workers came and told us that one out of the three rooms were rea [... read more]dy. So he took us to the room which happened to be my parents room that was ready and we stored all of our luggages in there until our rooms were ready. We discovered later that day that there was a frog in our toilet. It was disgusting. It scared my children and it was gross to see legs hanging out everytime We flushed. Complained to the housekeeping staff, customer service and front desk and they all seemed to laugh at me. Wasn't impressed. The food was mediocre. Nothing incredible but it was still okay to eat. Always a variety. And there was always something being freshly grilled or cooked. The best meal that we had was the Italian a la carte. That was besides the pizza. But the buffet was always open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The entertainment team was awesome, they did a great job with the kids, their actual show did not begin though until Monday. So Friday, Saturday, and Sunday we just had the Children's Entertainment. We went to the market which was over priced, we found it better to barter with the local merchants in the market outside Melia Jardine Del Rey resort which was right next door. We also took the bus to Pilar beach. It was so beautiful! Water was super clear and clean until someone took a dump in the sea and it floated by us. Nasty!! Not once but twice. They also charge for use of the chairs. The ride to the beach was 1.5hrs because they travel in and out of all the resorts on the way. $5 Pesos gets you there and back. The beach at Pestana was beautiful as well, the water was shallow but cloudy. You couldn't see your feet in the water. My husband had a night out exploring different rums with a bartender and ended up falling asleep by the pool with his camera. He forgot it by the pool and someone decided to take it and not return it to front desk. Our family pics on the camera are forever gone now because it was stolen. Had it just been forgotten, he would have found it again!! Not impressed. Just seemed that everyone was filling our heads with "possibilities" that they were "looking" for it. But I felt differently about their responses. There's cats everywhere, tree frogs everywhere, hermit crabs everywhere. Didn't mind them at all!! The staff was friendly. The gardener was such a sweety. He gave us gifts of necklaces and bracelets, creative palm leaf creations like grass hoppers and birds, even cut me a piece of aloe vera for my shoulders when I got burnt. The mosquitoes and other bugs bite!! Watch out!! The housekeeping staff made different creations every day with our bed linens and towels and added a flower to each creation every day. On our last day however, my daughter fell asleep with her swimmer's diaper on and peed in the bed. I apologized to the housekeeper and asked her to change the bed sheets, instead, she brought 3 clean sheets. That was it. The waitstaff in the buffet restaurant were really sweet and helpful! They went the extra mile to help us! When we did not get water in our room for 2 days, Jennifer, one of the waitresses in the buffet restaurant, brought us 4 bottles. 2 for me and 2 for my sil for the baby. The churro station was my children's favourite!! They loved the pool, and the kids club! Don't think we'll be returning anytime soon though. It was 3 out of 5 for us. We got hit with stomach issues halfway through our vacation and I believe it was from the fresh fruit. There are always flies everywhere while you're eating.

Great vacation at Pestana

This was my daughters and my second visit to Pestana Cayo Coco. We had a great time once again. The hotel, staff, beach, pool, entertainment are all great. The food was better than our last visit in March 2018. There is a new chef on board and a new Manager at the hotel so we did see some improvements and some added touches. Midsize descent resort

Check in was a struggle. We arrived at about 1:00 pm. Room became available at about 4:00 pm! Staff were very nice. The hotel is kept clean although it is getting old. Room was descent. Food and restaurants were good. The beach is nice and the hotel is well equipped and finding a chair was not a problem. Occasional daily rain was the only interruption. The staff and service at the buffet were good, particularly Ibert, Alberto, Danna, and Danielis were pleasant and caring. Going back next year

Hi there we just got back from a 8 day stay at the Pestana. We had a great time. The staff were wonderful , food was great, room were clean , and the most important for us was the BEACH. Best beach we have had. This was my sixth time to Cayo Coco and we will probably go back to Pestana. My only complaint would be was the line up in the airport. Sunwing only had two counters open where as Air Transit had 5 and Air Canada had 4. We were the last getting through security and being a late  [... read more]night departure it was so frustrating watch the other airlines check outs moving so fast. Great time
