Great resort

The hotel was great. The rooms were big and clean. Everything at this resort was great except for the beach area. The beach had too much seaweed and was very rocky. The food was delicious. Had a very good time. Also the weather was very hot. Just what I wanted!

Did not meet our expectations

I will start out by saying the staff at the hotel were all very friendly and helpful. This hotel is not for anyone that likes the beach. The picture shown to the left does not represent what we saw. The first day we went to the beach and you could not get to the water for the seaweed and the smell from the seaweed. A couple of days later we went back that they were cleaning it up. The activity pool with the swim up bar got very noisy in the afternoon. This is also not a hotel to pick if you have trouble walking. The basic rooms are the farthest away from the restaurants. You have to upgrade your room to get closer to the restaurant. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms spacious. Our only complaint about the room was the musty smell in the closet. I had to wash everything that I had in my suitcase and spray my suitcase with Lysol when I got home.

Great resort, I enjoyed the atmosphere. Clean rooms, great restaurants. Service was awesome!

A great place for a vacation. I went for the pools and relaxation and got that. The choices of Restaurants were good. The entertainment was good at night ,thoroughly enjoyed Grease. The service was very good! Pools were awesome! Unfortunately a lot of seaweed on the beach.....if you want a beach, this may not be your first choice. I am not sure I agree there should be a dress code for men at dinner but not woman, sexist.

Average Resort

This is the second time we have been to this resort. We found our first time to have been better due to it have been only open for 6mths This time , The food was good, you could always find something at the buffets, a la cartes were not bad we have had better. I would have to say the biggest thing ,this hotel needs to do is fix the main pool it lose tiles off the bottom every day. Fabulous time!

This was a beautiful resort with amazing food and wonderful service.. we had a great time! The swim out rooms were terrific. I only wish the sports park was located a little closer to the platinum suites!

Beautiful resort/ not a great beach

This resort was beautiful. It was clean, food was good, live music was good. The beach was not great. There was a lot of sea weed on the beach and in the water. The beach was washed away in some spots making it hard to go for a long walk on the beach. Pool areas were nice. The resort itself ( rooms,service,gardens, pools) is great the only down side is the beach.

Amazing resort

This hotel was beautiful! Very clean. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Food was excellent. Pools were great! There was a lot of seaweed along the beach but other then that we had an amazing time. Can't wait to go back!

Great Resort

Very well maintained clean resort. Food good. Service excellent. Beach well equipped for sunbathing but previous storm had eroded the sand along waters edge making entrance to swim difficult. Only difficulty was the flight home which was cancelled after several delays. Delays and cancellations are unavoidable but getting information on tha status of the flight was almost impossible. Not knowing what's going on is very irritating.

Nice and relaxing adults-only resort

Overall this hotel is very nice. I would rate it as a 4 star. It's a smaller resort which some prefer. The rooms are updated and kept clean (no issues with toilets or showers etc.) The food at the resort is pretty great. The buffet quality and selection is on par for a 4 star resort. The a la carte restaurants have awesome food and it's nice that they don't require reservations. Aroma and Tao were our favourites. The entertainment staff at the resort are awesome and so kind. We encountered several lovely servers, resort staff and cleaners during our stay however we had an unpleasant experience with the Plaza bar tender, Daniel. He was incredibly rude, did not listen to your order, rolled his eyes and made comments when you asked for anything specific. It was almost hard to believe he was in the service industry. He gave the impression that he hated what he was doing. Other than the one minor issue, the resort is great and the grounds are beautiful. This resort does not have a good beach, however you can travel just a short distance down the beach to the sister resort and use their chairs. We didn't stay in a room with a swim-out room but after seeing them and how convenient they are, we would recommend upgrading to the swim-out. Drinks can be served right to your swim-out area. For the right price I would definitely return.

Very nice place

I enjoyed the resort. The staff were very friendly. The grounds were very clean. Disappointed in the beach ( very small and lots of seaweed, could not swim ) Room was clean, food was good. Overall experience was very good.

Great Resort!

The resort was modern and clean. The food was fantastic at not only the buffet but also at the variety of 'a la carte' restaurants available. The resort as a whole was beautiful with swim out units in front and back of most of the buildings. We picked a balcony unit this time but if we were to do it again we would want a swim out unit. Since we were at the Platimum resort we had full [... read more] access to the ajoining Grand Princess resort. Our room was modern and very clean. The staff were excellent and very friendly. Our only disappointment was the beach. The beach in front of the resort is rocky once you enter the water. It is nice to relax on the sand beach but not for going in the water without water shoes. This was not a problem because we accessed the beach at the Grand Princess and were able to swim there - only a 5 minute walk. Overall we were very happy to have chosen the Platinum Yucatan Princess All Suites Resort for a fun and relaxing time.

Quiet and relaxing resort

Was comparable to other 5 star locations we have been to in the area. Food was great, service was prompt and friendly, drinks were cold and plentiful. A/C was a bit lacking (room was set as low as it goes, 22, and it was VERY humid even with the fan on high the whole stay, sheets and clothes were always damp as a result)- this is a very MINOR complaint and would not stop us from returning. Was a nice option to have only a 5 min trolly ride away at any time.

Very good resort

Hotel was very nice,the ground was very nice, the pool was great water temperature was perfect and food at la carte was great.The buffet was fair. The service at the restaurant was great the buffet could improve a bit..

Lovely resort

Check in was a breeze with the upgraded status - and champagne upon arrival. Unfortunately the room requested with two beds was not given and wouldn't be for two more days and we couldn't be bothered to unpack to pack back up again to unpack so we stayed where we were. South side rooms in block 5 are the place to stay with the swim up rooms and sun. The entire place was spotless, though sometimes the pool seemed a little scummy. The beach area is nothing like the Dominican - quite rocky and dirty (garbage in water) but it was sure nice to be close to and hear the waves crashing. Sunsets and Moons could both be seen. Food was good. I like the resort because it was the quieter of the three chains and you could travel to the other two and be busy and come back to this resort and feel the calm relaxed atmosphere. Staff was friendly.

Comfortable Resort

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and filled my expectations on what I was looking for in a resort. Quiet, good food and good service. My only complaint was that people placed towels on some comfortable chairs both by the pool and beach and then didn’t use them. This is disrespectful and ignorant. There should be some sort of time limitation or regulation.

Great Resort

Hotel was excellent. Clean, luxurious, everything you want in an all-inclusive. Food was great, particularly at the a-la-carte restaurants. Staff were exceedingly friendly and courteous. This was our first all inclusive as a couple, and we were very happy with how it all turned out. The "adults-only" provisions meant that overall the resort was a bit quieter, which was perfect for a relaxed beach vacation. Particularly enjoyed the Rodeo Grill for it's al fresco dining. Location was great, easy to get into Playa del Carmen for other activities.

Very nice adult only resort

Very nice resort that was always very clean. All the staff were cheerful, pleasant and helpful. Lots of activities to do at the resort if you want a change from laying in the sun. Tons and tons pools space so if you don’t want to be by the pool with louder music you had endless possibilities to lay at other pools or the beach. Beach area was smaller due to hurricane erosion. My only complaint was the bed I had was a comfortable but old school memory foam mattress where I would wake up a sweat [... read more]y mess several times a night as my body couldn’t breath on it. By my last night I found a solution to put the coil hide a bed mattress on top of mine and then i slept fine. The buffet food was very good with lots of selections. The other restaurants were just as good. Thursday night was all u can eat lobster tail at the buffet. Amazing deal and supper delicious! Have the usual nightly entertainment but also several night cap bars to have a drink and chat with new found friends in the open air. I would say and older mature crowd. Still fun. Quiet resort with no kids.

Beautiful resort ...

Staff were so friendly and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. Rooms and resort so clean and beautifully maintained. Food delicious. Buffet offered so much variety and food was nicely presented. A la Carte restaurants impeccable.

Great Resort But With One Problem

I just got back from this resort, I was there from Jan 28 til Feb4. The resort was very clean...great food and drinks....I ate at the steakhouse, Japanese and Italian ala cartes and loved them. The service from the staff was fantastic and the weather was good for 6 of the days. Liked the fact that you had access to all 3 resorts. Swimming pools in all 3 of the resorts were good. The foam party was great...went on for over 2 hours. My only complaint of the resort was the beach. Very rocky in spot [... read more]s and a lot of washed out areas. Some places you had to climb down an almost 3 foot sloped bank to get to the beach. The water was shallow and was not very good to swim in as you had to get out past the buoys to get deep water. There were a lot of loungers to lay on in the sun or in the shade. The two beach grills and bars were great. But I love to be able to swim in the ocean and be able to go out and enjoy the waves in deeper water. But if you want a beach just to lay on a lounger and enjoy the sounds of the ocean and maybe read a book then this is good. It is a fantastic resort but for me I probably won't go back because of the beach.

Yucatán Resort is amazing!

This resort is amazing in every way. Immaculate clean grounds and rooms, delicious food and beautiful beaches and pools. The ocean floor is rocky so bring water shoes. Average age of guests was older so it was fun without being very wild. People who want to party can go to the sister resorts. We had an amazing time. Definitely will be back.
