The hotel was ok at best. You can tell that it is an older hotel. Our patio door didn't lock (we were on the first floor) and was very hard to open and close. Half of the time our key fobs didn't work so we had to go to the lobby to reset. The first three days, we didn't have cold water, you will burn yourself taking a hot shower. One day we asked our butler to make a reservation for four people to one of the restaurants for our second last day, they made it for two, so we never got the chance t[... read more]o eat there.
I had requested first floor because I cannot do stairs and was not aware that they didn't have elevators when we booked 10 months prior, they put me on the third floor and I refused the room. Had to pay extra $350 to get a room on the first floor.

Grand Palladium Vallarta: Do your research
You need to do as much research as possible when you are spending a lot of dollars on a trip.
We found that we were sort of held captive in the resort because the taxi fares from the hotel were inflated by a insane amount. We did not know exactly how far this resort was from the town of Puerto Vallarta or how much Taxis would cost on this coast. well they are incredibly expensive. Compared to other places I have traveled in Mexico they were four times as much and the number of passengers ra[... read more]ised the price. At least that is what the hotel told us when we asked at the desk. The other research to do is ask about the condition of the beach.. The one at this resort was some sand and rocks that were real foot and ankle scrapers.. The waves were high and not pleasant for youngsters below 8 years old.. Its really a surfing beach.
The Hotel staff were really great and the food was very good although you needed to make a reservation for most of the restaurants between 9am and 11am if you wanted a seat in most of them. The ones without reservations were very good buffet style places.

Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton: Great Resort for families
We arrived after 8pm and our check-in was seamless. The staff at the check-in desk were friendly and fun.
We had a standard room in villa 27 and we were central to everything. The grounds were well maintained as was the beach. The food was phenomenal, the shows were good but repetitive. However, I know the entertainment staff work so hard to put on a show each night.
The hotel itself has something for everyone, waterpark, pool, beaches, mini golf, archery, water sports, casino, kids club with[... read more] various activities throughout the day, nightlife. Main pool was great, lots of beach chairs at any point in the day.
Beach wasn't large but beautiful and big enough to enjoy. There are two sections of the beach, one by the main pool and another hidden in a bay by the poseidon restaurant (sunset cove).
A la carte options were plenty but beware, they encourage booking through the app but if you are booking for more than 1 room, book early through guest services. We booked one under our respective rooms with a note to seat us together, which was a group of 7 of us (app states to only go to guest services if more than 7 ppl). Upon arriving at the restaurant and explaining that we wanted to be seated together, they were cold and dismissive. We ended up sitting on different sides of the restaurant (even with an empty table beside ours that seated 4) but tried to make the best of it. Our dinner there was great but our service was terribly poor.
The coffee bar and sports bar were definite highlights. The sports bar is a beautiful, hidden gem with great food options, pool tables, ping pong, lots of tvs and just nice in general.
Overall, we had amazing weather, ate great food, met a lot of new people, swam, drank and had fun! Despite some small service issues, I would highly recommend this resort.

Grand Palladium Select White Sand: Very good resort
The service is 5 out of 5. My room needed a slight fix of the safe deposit box. The technician came in 5 min and fixed it. The stuff was polite and efficient. For the people who decide to go to this resort - bring water shoes with you. Long areas of the beach have rocks and in windy day, when water is murky, it will save your feet. When water is back to clear, you will see where to go, but in windy day you'd better have it.
If you prefer pools - pools are very clean and well-maintained.

Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton: Disappointed
The hotel is older and although they are doing "renovations" it's really like a slight face lift; mostly refresh with paint; nothing special. The rooms had a foul order, like wet cardboard. Each pod has a fountain on the ground floor that is completely useless and contributes to the smell. My balcony door did not open so I was unable to use the balcony. I am Jamaican so I might be extremely biased re the food. Absolutely crap. Menus so deceiving. Now the service...ABSOLUTLEY IMPECCABLE. Check[... read more]-in was a little tedious but the courteous, friendly, efficient staff made it bearable. Servers were alert and attentive.

Grand Palladium Select Bavaro: Save your money and go somewhere else
I paid $1788 cad a person which I find is overpriced big time for this hotel. One room was great but the other was terrible. Broken toilet seat, shower head, and shower door. Air conditioning was leaking water on the floor daily. Service: not great. Took them 3 days to bring me toothpaste as I forgot mine. First 3 days we could hardly get coffee and water served for breakfast. Very slow service - got better by day 4. Drinks were good. Beach was terrible. HUGE amounts of seaweed that they just gr[... read more]ind it down- they don’t pick it up but this is an issue in the ocean so I would avoid the Atlantic Ocean resorts. We love the beach but only went 2 days. Pools could of been cleaner. Water was hot buy 1:00 pm as it was really hot. 42 degrees with humidity. Plenty of chairs and towels. Food was very good. I have severe allergies and the head chef would take me to explain what each item had inside the food. I did stay away from the areas that had seafood ( my allergies) as people mix the spoons. Entertainment wasn’t great. The kids arcade was great. The resort is HUGE which I found too big. Be prepared to walk tons. A la carte that were great; the italian and Japanese. Steak house I didn’t like and the food only came at 9. Air conditioning needs to be improved in the buffets and restos as with the extreme heat, we were boiling hot 🥵. I have asthma and struggled with this. Check in was ridiculous. Took us 1 hour as the guy i had didn’t know what he was doing. Check out was great. The bus to and from the airport was great. Great AC. Airport was brutal. There isn’t AC everywhere and it’s a long wait. We stayed in the duty free stores till the end basically but when we had to board the plane , no AC. Long line and we were put on a bus that had no AC. I almost fainted and had an asthma attack. Bus takes you to the plane then you have to walk up a ramp into the plane. In the extreme heat, if you have health problems I highly suggest you either do VIP or have help from the airport prior to booking. I regret this as I didn’t realize this could of happened. Thank god the airplane is really cold but took me 2 hours to feel better. When I arrived home, they also stole my cigars so don’t leave any cigars in your check in luggage. I’m sure it was the airport in the Dominican Republic. Unfortunately I don’t recommend this hotel. I would not return. Also, not many people speak English so learn Spanish. I speak Spanish and still could not get the service at times. Gift shop extremely expensive. $6 usd for toothpaste, chips were 2 for $18 usd , I bought a stainless steal coffee tumbler and it was $30 usd. Bracelets were 3 for $10. Beware of the peddlers! They harass you everywhere you go especially the beach. They also start extremely high with prices then go really low when they see you won’t bite. We did 1 extersion which was good. The party boat - seascape - booked with Marcus. We paid $83 usd per person. They said high prices due to the pandemic:(. Bargain with the peddlers. We wanted to buy 3 bracelets and they asked for $80usd. Then we only took 2 of them and got for $15 usd each which it already broke . We purchased the metal ones with the blue stones. Anyway, al in all, I won’t return.

Grand Palladium Select Costa Mujeres: Great Resort, Amazing staff!
Everything was amazing at the resort minus the last day when I was leaving. I was five
Minutes late which was my fault to meet my bus transport to the airport and when I came downstairs no one informed me who the bus driver was. I was outside next to the driver and he wouldn’t even speak with me. He ignored
Me and took some pictures and left. This made me very upset. Anyway I asked the bell boy to arrange private transportation and the transportation cost me $147 US dollars. Unbeknownst to t[... read more]hem, I saw the driver give money
To the bellboy for a referral I guess that I technically paid for. It’s really unprofessional to trust a high end resort to arrange something for you and you become a victim of this scheme. Anyway the fault was
Mine but to top it all off, the nexus transportation company when contacted said the driver was late picking us up about 15 minutes. When I advised the lady that driver came and left “no show up notice†she was shocked and told me that the driver has to contact them for no shows but he never did. She even tried to get me to triple check to see if my info was on the “no show notice†because she was shocked about this situation. Anyway it left a really bad taste with me and made me feel the whole thing was a setup.

Grand Palladium Punta Cana: Could be better
When first arriving we were not greeted well. They did not offer any beverages including water after a long hot trip, as other resorts do. The baggage people did not take our bags from the bus and my family had to do it themselves. We also tried to book the al la cart after we checked in and they were completely booked.
The rooms were okay except for the bathrooms. First, if you are sharing with anyone who is not your partner, there is no privacy. You can see the person in the shower as there[... read more] is a slightly fogged glass facing the beds. Second, the shower leaked everywhere. There is no door and the shower has no depth so the water leaked all the way to the toilet. We had to use all our towels on the floor for the first shower and the resort was unwilling to bring new ones.
If you are booking this hotel and you are not in the members travel club you are treated like a second class citizen. Be aware of this as they will roll the red carpet for them but will only provide the basics for everyone else, including a simple greeting.

Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton: PAID FOR 4.5 STAR HOTEL FOR UNDER 3 STAR
Must read before you book. ‘Don’t waste your money.’
We want to share our unsatisfied experience with our recent stay at Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton in Jamaica.
As you know we paid for 4.5 stars hotel, however the hotel and in general the resort was below 3 *.
Starting with the distance from the airport to the resort as per the Website suppose to be about
30, minutes, but we were stop in several other resort to drop off the guests and we reached our
resort after an hour and 45 m[... read more]inutes.
On our second day the AC units start leaking water in our room and half of our room was flooded.
We called for help and the maintenance guy told us that he will inform the management to give us
another room nobody showed up, we went to reception, there was no report about the issue in our
room.
The staff didn’t want to help, we asked to talk to manager no one want to talk to us. We wait the
entire morning until late afternoon to change our room and spend the rest of the day repacking or
stuff to move to another room. We waste one day of our vacation.
The condition of the room the cleanness in no way close to 4.5 start hotel, extremely uncomfortable
beds.
The beach was full of seaweeds floating all over the beach. The evening entertainment shows was
very boring with 10 dancers and just changing the outfits and the same dance over and over again.
Food was okay, the excursion price was outrageous $165 American per person.

Grand Palladium Select Bavaro: Great
The hotel was really lovely. We especially loved the beach, it was just perfect! Huge, lots of shaded areas, not crowded, with turquoise water and white sand. It's the best feature of the hotel, truly! The room they initially gave us was a no-go due to the bathroom that was basically in the room, with no privacy at all. I had to go back to the reception and they changed our room to a much better one (with a spacious private bathroom) at no extra fee. The food in the buffets was OK. My partner di[... read more]d have an upset stomach one day, though. This lasted 24 hours. Make sure to pack Pepto-Bismol since they charge 21 USD for a pack of those pink chewable tablets. Grand Palladium Punta Cana: Meh
This resort was SO BIG. The relaxing vacation feeling is lost when your balcony faces the employee shuttle bus parking lot, and when you have to step into the weeds to allow cars to pass on the shared walkway/road. Pools were a little dirty and there are constantly people trying to sell you things. There was a night in which there was no running water on the resort for hours and (brief) power outages. The sky light above the hotel stairs leaked water onto the stone stairs when it rained). There [... read more]also wasn’t much daytime entertainment.
Pros: there are lots of bars and restaurants to choose from and the food was good. The rooms were nice (although a weird shower design that gets water everywhere) and I liked that the mini fridge came stocked with different snacks/drinks. Large pools with different atmospheres (relaxing, kids area, party pool) and various night activities (theatre show, 24hr sports bar, disco, casino, adult pool open until midnight).

TRS Coral: Great hotel on a wonderful beach
Our last visit was pre-Covid, the hotel grounds have exploded, but are manicured and being maintained. The overgrowth is being replaced with new plantings and couldn't give a better feel or aesthetic. The rooms have not changed, are starting to show some very minor wear and tear. We had a swim out, pool side and one piece of the decking fell away ( likely due to previous guests having lots of fun on the edge of the deck) a call to the butler was all it took and within minutes maintenance was [... read more]there to complete the repair. My only criticism is that the drink service promissed at reception for our room, was mostly lacking. We had a difficult time flagging down the poolside servers. So, I'm not sure if that was an oversight on managments part, to communicate to the staff the need to service the few occupied pool side swim out rooms. During our week stay there were only 5 swim up rooms occupied from what we could see. Since this was a room we requested, but did not recieve upon arrival. We did have to pay a rather heafty premium to get the benefits of this room. Butler service was included in the pricing and we had the privilage of having Fernano and Carlos take excellent care of us. The turndown service was very nice. All the staff working in the restaurants were excellent. The SPA is amazing, a definite treat to have had a massage and endulge in the hydrotherapy. The beach was very clean, lots of sand and the water was lovely. The hotel offers a beach bar, with servers. They all work very hard and appear genuine when saying "its a pleasure" when you thank them. The towels are always plentiful and you can refresh without issue any time during the day. Premium , top shelf, liquour at the bars. Wine was not great, and the restaurants have what should be better options for purchase; however I found they were too pricy for me personally. Good wine comes in all price categories and TRS definitely has a focus on the higher end wines. I have a very specific allergy and they were most helpful in offering me suitable options. I would not hesitate to return to TRS Coral. You actually do get treated royally there!
