Good resort

The resort was very nice. Staff was awesome. But for a resort that is not that old it is some what dated and could use some tlc. Not much of a beach and could not swim in the ocean very rough everyday. As usual when you pay elite plus it only applies at the Pearson Airport. For people like myself that pay extra for a service you expect it to be met. The sunwing reps did not call Elite plus boarding it was a free for all getting on the plane. It took us an hour and a half to clear customs, we were all crammed in a bus after deboarding to travel 100 yards, what a joke.

Chic punta cana!! Did not disappoint

hotel is very clean and modern, very upbeat hotel great staff!! Food is very good although buffet needs to offer more variety, unlimited sit down restaurants and no reservation required very nice perk food very good. Lobby bar is very happening during the evening all bartenders great!!

Needs improvement

The hotel is a great size. Everything is close and there is no need for shuttles which is nice. We had a Diamond club swim out room that was nice. The swim out pools were much colder than the regular pool for some reason. Many guests didn’t stay in them long for that reason. The swim out rooms are not maintained well. Things are worn. They are spacious though. Our Butler was not the greatest. Could have done without him all he did was book us dinners. We found out later that there were many [... read more] other things we were entitled to and did not know. Probably would not go diamond club next time if we went back. Paid a lot for someone to book me dinners. We were in the diamond club lounge and asked for a liquor. It did not taste right. Asked the server to get a new bottle to compare, we were surprised to fine the new bottle that was opened in front of us tasted as it should, the other bottle had been refilled with a cheaper liquor that was not the premium liquor we expected. We spoke to the bar supervisor and he confirmed the taste difference but had no answers. Simply apologized. It is a scam hoping guests don’t know. It happened with a few different liquors. Bad business!

Vacationing Vegetarian with allergies!

As a vegetarian and someone allergic to fish and peanuts, I was very concerned after eating at the buffet and the Italian restaurant at the beginning. The dishes I could eat were mixed amongst dishes containing meat and fish and furthermore, they shared serving utensils. Customer Relations gave me cards, explaining my restrictions in English and in Spanish, for each of my restrictions which I was to provide to waiters at future visits. I did this at the Japanese restaurant and Chef Jose far  [... read more]exceeded my expectations. He came by and ensured he understood all of my restrictions and prepared an exquisite 5 course meal for me which took my restrictions under strict consideration. He personally explained each of them to ensure they were appropriate. Not only were they appropriate but they were delicious! Rosio then ensured this type of service was carried through at other restaurants. She was wonderful. Raw tofu was added to the buffet offerings and placed in the cheese area with a sign that read “tofu cheese”. This was very thoughtful but the buffet chefs need to be educated on what tofu is; it is not a cheese and it should be cooked to minimize the chance of bacteria growth. I am writing this for the Chic hotel owner to read. I truly believe they want to understand and improve as this is exactly how I saw them react to my concerns and struggles, with being a vegetarian with restrictions, at the beginning. I suggest all chefs be trained to better understand and learn what vegetarianism is and how to accommodate with flavorful dishes. Chef Jose may be the perfect trainer, as I suspect, he knows the most about the topic. Like I have seen at other resorts, the owners may want to consider setting aside an area in the buffet for vegetarian/vegan dishes. They may also consider not sharing serving utensils between dishes. The staff did accommodate me though when I requested a clean serving utensil. If you go to this resort and are a vegetarian or a vegan, ask for Chef Jose and/or Rosie. I am not commenting on anything else as I will let others do so. We did have a great vacation and did like the Chic resort!

Chic Punta cana

We had a great time. Amazing location. Resort was not too big. Great daily fitness classes and variety. Culinary experience was really fun and worth it if your a foodie. Steak house was delicious! Great couples getaway.

Great fitness team and helpful staff

Fabio, Jeyco and Dimas (and another young man, I didnt meet) were an amazing fitness team. Yoga and pool aerobics amazing! Wendy in guest services was so helpful in making our stay perfect. Carlos Mercedes the manager of the Italian restaurant and the hostesses really accommodated my food and gluten allergies. Fantastic vacay

Perfection!!!

To say this resort was amazing is simply not enough to do it justice. From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty. Check-in was effortless and since we arrived well before check-in time we were offered a hospitality suite while we waited. After a quick bite to eat we were greeted at the bar by our Butler and Tocayo David Castillo. David went out of his way our entire trip to make sure we were taken care of. The personal service he gave was second to none. From bubble baths, to champa [... read more]gne, to a private romantic dinner David made sure that this vacation was one that we will never forget. We stayed in room 1203 which has one of the best views in the whole resort. Nothing but beach and ocean from our large balcony. The resort itself is breathtaking and so very clean. The food is outstanding with Hunter steakhouse and Vespa being our favourites the steak was one of the best I have had and the chicken Parmesan was just like my Italian nonna used to make. The drinks were always good and the service at the beach and pool was excellent. The entertainment staff especially Luis were incredible, taking the time to get to know guests and making sure to always add that personal touch. The evening entertainment was also above par with our personal favourite being 80’s and 90’s night. We had a chance to enjoy a couples massage at the spa and the service there was also exceptional. I would definetly recommend the Diamond Club, well worth the money for the personalized experience. We will certainly be return guests soon and were ecstatic to find out that we can request our favourite butler David Castillo when we return. Thank you Chic and staff for an absolutely magical vacation that we won’t forget. Can’t wait to be back again soon.

Terrific!

This was our second visit to CHIC and it's definitely one of the best all inclusive resorts we've stayed at. Despite being in the midst of Hurricane Maria, we still got a couple of days to enjoy the hotel. The staff are wonderful, attentive and tremendously warm. The rooms are big, really clean and well looked after. Plenty of options for food with all the great restaurants and not to mention 24 hr room service. The Diamond Club staff are supremely helpful - they'll help with whatever you need.  [... read more]And it must be said that the resort did an incredible job evacuating us during the hurricane and ensuring our safety. The pool is well maintained, not overly crowded and the resort is very peaceful so the perfect place to go for some R&R.

Amazing, hip resort

We really enjoyed our stay at the Chic Resort. The resort is advertised as great 25-40 years of age, however we saw a lot of 25-60. The resort was extremely clean, floors mopped daily, there is a turn down service as well as 24 hour room service included at no extra charge (we used it more than we thought). The ocean wasn't too rough when we went even thought the beach is known as a rougher beach. The food was okay, it wasn't bad but it also wasn't the best we've had in Punta Cana. The alcohol w [... read more]as extremely watered down, I'm a light weight and it would take more than 10 daiquiri's to get a buzz. If you upgrade to Diamond club at the resort for $80 a day, you do get the premium alcohol that isn't watered down. There was no theatre because its a social resort and they play pool games as well as do something every night in the lobby (dance parties, etc.). The "night club" usually only had 5-10 people in it, the beach party no one showed up and the lobby parties were a little bit better attended. I would give the night life for this resort a solid 0% because no one got involved and the resort definitely tried to get people involved, it sucked. I prefer the theatre at other resorts. The activities during the day were amazing and lots of people participated: kayak races in the pool, a hamster ball in the pool, bull riding, bubble party, etc. Maybe everyone was tired by the end of the day? Our favourite restaurant was Vespa's italian, we went 3 times out of the 7 days and would have loved to go more! The building supervisors were very pushy, trying to push time shares and asking for food or drinks from your room. No other resort I've been to has done this... I dont know if we'll ever go back, but over all it was a good resort to visit once.

Small and Intimate

Nice intimate resort, great to bring your partner to. Food was good, rooms were clean, resort was run really well. Only thing I did not like was the amount of seaweed in the water that washes up on the beach. I like to spend a lot of time in the ocean so this affected me quite a bit. They did a good job cleaning it up every other day but there's nothing they could do about the weeds in the water. Other than that, great place to go.

Good Experience - Could Have Been A Lot Worse

Overall, the service was excellent. We loved all of the wait staff, bartenders, front desk, Diamond Club staff and butlers. On the negative side of things, there was a lot of rain which resulted in a loss of water, several rooms flooding and we were unable to use the pools. Parts of the ceiling in the main lobby was falling onto the floor and one of the main entrance swings fell down (or was removed) due to the weather conditions as it did not seem the ceiling was able to support it. I feel  [... read more]that during this difficult time, the staff could have communicated better with the customers and let us know when to expect these issues to have been resolved. Instead, we were the ones asking questions and essentially just dealing with the issues as they arose. The craftsmanship of the television stands, nightstands etc...was very poor. Even lying in bed, you could plainly see that the work was unfinished and many of these items were crooked. A panel was missing from our shower door, for which we were compensated with a "romantic dinner". We really enjoyed this experience and were happy with how the staff looked after us overall. However, I would not likely recommend this resort to friends or family due to the lack of communication we experienced and the issues that the hotel still has to work out.

Resort was great but food could use improvement

We stayed at Chic Punta Cana April 8-April 15th. We were in building two and had a swim up room. It was incredible!! Our butler, David Castillo, was beyond amazing! Our second butler, Carmen, was also great and we appreciate everything they did for us. The beach was beautiful but the water was very rough. You can't wade in the ocean and relax. I wish there was a swim up bar in the main pool though. Also, they need more chairs around the pool and beach. If you aren't up by 8 am you won't have a seat in the shade. I loved the room service. we ordered breakfast every morning and ate on our deck. The food... The food needs improvement. We did let management know how we felt about the food as they are always coming around asking how things are. I had raw chicken one day. Food that is supposed to be cold isn't etc. I found the buffet very small and always had the same options. Also, the juices there, including orange juice, are not real and taste like tang juice. I missed having orange juice in my mimosa. I did love that the resort had top shelf liquor (we were diamond club) and coors light beer. Overall we liked the resort but I don't think we would be back.

Beautiful resort!

Because the site and the temperature were very good, we were able to enjoy the pool, the beach(very nice), the different activities during the days and nights and also enjoy our quiet time(the room was nice and modern).

The beautiful rooms didn't make up for it

The rooms were clean and appeared exactly like the pictures shown. My issues are only with the staff of the resort. We were visiting for a festival that went on for 3 days out of our stay. Due to this, we were in and out of the resort. Each time that we tried to leave the resort, it was a hassle. My friends and I felt as if we were in jail. In addition, after 4 days of our stay, we were asked to show our wrist bands during dinner which made us feel extremely uncomfortable. Furthermore, I did not [... read more] enjoy the food from the buffet. I felt nauseated after the times that I've eaten there. The steakhouse was very good, however, when I called to book a reservation, the staff told me that they don't book reservations, and to walk-in when we were ready. We went down and the hostess told us that there is about an hour wait which at that time the restaurant would be closed.

Awesome resort

I was completely surprised at check in time when they automatically upgraded me to the Diamond Club because I was a repeat guest and in addition to that Oliver mgr again upgraded and gave me complimentary privileges for the week to the hydro therapy spa which was a completely amazing experience that I truly needed and enjoyed. The hotel is small but beautiful, the staff(all staff, front desk, concierge, bell boys, bartenders, waitresses and entertainment are happy and friendly people and go  [... read more]out of their way to please you. This is my second stay and I will return again, I have no complaints about this hotel, all is good. They provide you with all of your bath necessities, body & hair wash, conditioner and body lotion that is fantastic. All requests that I had were taken care of within minutes a truly relaxing vacation. I would and already have recommend this hotel to everyone.

Excellent resort

this resort was 5 star all the way really had a good time. Staff were friendly, rooms were made up nice on a daily bases, beach was amazing ,the food choices were great,lots of places to sit on the beach. good selection of alcohol.

Awesome Resort

We loved the Chic hotel, only had a few down falls but would not stop us from booking there again. We found the spa to be overly expensive, room service food not that great and the restaurant food was great but the service was a little slow. The beach was beautiful the hotel was small but very nice.The staff was awesome, rooms near the pool is very noisy, so if looking for a nap good luck. The back rooms are nice and quiet. Awesome resort will likely book there again.

Relaxing time at CHIC

Just got back from a 4 day getaway at CHIC and had an amazing time (2 couples in our mid 40s). Loved the smaller resorts, rooms were great, and restaurants were all good. The service was the best part the resort. I was constantly asked if I need anything. Great time

Super Amazing Trip!!!!

what a WOW place!!! the grounds are beautiful, the rooms are very comfortable, the food was fantastic, and the best part of the trip....... the staff!!! So many amazing smiles!!!! I would definitely recommend the Royalton Chic to anyone interested in traveling!!!!!

A nice four-day getaway

The grounds were well kept at this resort. We loved the fact that it was smaller - felt more intimate and not so much walking to do to get everywhere. Pools were beautiful and beach area was too. Would have liked the restaurants to be open for lunch too for more variety, but the buffet was good for lunch.
